1 Corinthians 13 Speaking In Tongues

Blondy Church of God in Hohenwald, Tennesse and Disturbing Churches of Christ.

John says that ANTICHRISTS deny that it was CHRIST (not a god word) came in the flesh.  Jesus came in the flesh thirty years before He was baptized, sanctified and sent.  Spirit is NEVER a "god" except Apollyon in the Latin Literature.

Iamblichus.3.7.Art.Divination  20. Greek, mania, rage, madness, entheasm, religious excitement, or rapture. The term is used here to denote the rapture incident upon being possessed by a superior power. Plato remarks in the Phaidros: "There are two kinds: one arising from human diseases and the other by a digression from fixed habits."

He subdivides the divine mania or entheasm into four kinds, and assigns
the mantic or prophetic inspiration to
Apollon, [now unleashed and leader of the LOCUSTS or MUSES}
mystic inspiration to Dionysos[The Old-New Wineskins God of gender-blighting worship abandoned from the School of Christ]

[25] the Muses of Olympus, daughters of Zeus who holds the aegis: "Shepherds of the wilderness, wretched things of shame, mere bellies, we know how to speak many false things as though they were true; but we know, when we will, to utter true things."

[5] But now, from the bow of the Muses who, shooting from afar, send a shower of such arrows of song as these on Zeus of the red lightning-bolt and on the sacred height of Elis, which once the Lydian hero Pelops [10] won as the very fine dowry of Hippodameia.

[11] And shoot a winged sweet arrow to Pytho; for your words will not fall to the ground, short of the mark,

when you trill the lyre in honor of the wrestling of the man from renowned Opus.

This last, he declares to be the best of all enthusiasms and of the best origin, describing it as "the right hand of the divine mania, and the source of greatest blessing to us."

21. Some exhibition of this kind is described by the Apostle Paul in the first Epistle to the Corinthians.
"If," says he, "the whole assembly come together to the same place and all
prattle in tongues,
and common men should come in, or unbelievers, will they not say that you are RAVING
?"

Most resources list both GOOD and EVIL acts or Speaking. Paul's "speaking" points to their place of origin. These are true languages which must not be used when the assembly meets for communication or education only.  There is only ONE Apostle-ordained person who can SPEAK the common languages and ANOTHER who can TRANSLATE: why would you need more than one.  That ONE or ANOTHER is to benefit the whole congregation.

However, everyone trying to speak their own "minor dialect" at the same time would not impress any educated person but would prove that they were SPEAKING the MADNESS of those who were NOT of Faith. These were all induced by "getting drunk or fluted down on wine" or by the manipulation of a Donnie Swaggart etal defined s SORCERERS or WITCHES.

Hence he counsels that only two or three should speak in turn, and one interpret;
        but if
nobody present is capable of this, they should keep silence, and speak only to themselves and to God:

I'm sorry that you don't know any of the end-time scholar who speaks in tongues (read any thesis) because Jesus will not PERMIT you to Corrupt the Word which is selling your words at retail which word defines an adulterer.  That's why they let someone read verse 3d and then Speak on their OWN. Jesus calls them sons of the Devil.  A preacher who reads and discusses the WORD or Regulative Principle will never be rich, famous or unable to BUY and SELL at the Universities Annual "Councils" largely succeeding in Establishing the New and Improved Dogma.

John 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said,
My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
John 7:17 If any man will do his will,
he shall know of the doctrine,
whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
John 7:18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory:
but he that seeketh his glory that sent him,
the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
John 7:19 Did not Moses give you the law,
and yet none of you keepeth the law?
Why go ye about to kill me?
"for not of tumult is he a god, but of tranquillity." (Ovid; Fasti IV,
"The attendants
beat the brass, and the hoarse-sounding hides.
Cymbals they strike in place of helmets, tambourines for the shields;
        the
pipe yielded its Phrygian notes.")

22. The Korybantes are variously described. Their cult was identified or closely allied to that of the Kabeirian divinities, and that of the Great Mother. It was celebrated in the islands of the Aegean Sea and in Phygia. Music, dancing, processions, and ecstatic frenzy were characteristics.

23. Sabazios, Sabaoth, or Sabbat, the god of the Planet Saturn, was better known as Bacchus or Dionysos, and was also styled in Semitic countries, Iao or Yava. His worship was more or less associated and identified with that of the Great Mother, under various designations, and it was characterized by phallephoric [carrying the penis] processions, dances, mourning for the slain divinity, and the Watch Night. It came from Assyria as its peculiar symbols, the ivy or kissos, the spotted robe or Nimr, and the Thyrso, indicate.

Goddess of the Sun

Greeks never called Athena a Sun Goddess outright, in fact they stubbornly maintained Apollon was the Sun deity, even when this had foolish results. Titling him 'Phoebas,' a feminine monicker which made him a 'lunar Sun' for example

Sun
Goddesses were frequently psychopompes, [Female Logos or Hermes] and the
labyrinth was itself connected to the Sun. It's entrance was carefully faced East to catch the first sunlight of the day. Patricia Monaghan's research has shown that the labyrinth accurately charts the Sun's path in the sky in the far North. It also marks the counter clockwise apparent orbit of the Moon as it waxes, followed by it's clockwise apparent path as it wanes. Travelling the labyrinth  made rebirth possible, whether it be by the Goddess leading the dead from its centre BENEATH the ground, or the priestess Ariadne guiding initiates through it for a spiritual rebirth.   Winding up the thread originally recreated the globe of the Sun, rebirthing the Sun Goddess herself. The ubiquitous pools near labyrinths or Cretan Goddess temples were probably meant to act as mirrors. The Sun's reflection was used for divination, rather than the endless circling of the fish.

ALMOST NO TIME IS SPENT ON THE BIBLE  AND CHURCHES OF CHRIST WHO DO ARE CALLED HISTORYLESS.  This is the Thesis of defunct Churches of Christ and many more.  The THESIS to get a Phd is that Tradition, Church Councils (preacher meetings) and Culture now defines which they really claim is that the olden God, Jesus and Paul didn't know what they know from reading popular books.

Nike Babalon
Variation of "Babylon" used by followers of Aleister Crowley and Jack Parsons, also referred to as "The Scarlet Woman," and "Avatar of the Eleventh Hour."   Derived from the Whore of Babylon mentioned in the Book of Revelations, Babalon in the Thelemic and Crowleyan systems symbolizes the free expression of one's sexual, spiritual, and worldly nature which, riding on the Beast, represents union with and gnosis of one's true Will.

There is a cry in an unknown tongue. It resounds through the temple of the universe; in its one word is death and ecstasy, and thy title of honor, o thou, to thyself High Priestess, Prophetess, Empress, to thyself the Goddess whose name means mother and whore!

Jesus said that He and those who hear and SPEAK the Word or Logos are from ABOVE but those who do not even HEAR but BELIEVETH NOT "that He that believes AND is baptized shall be damned" because they are from BENEATH ot TARTARUS.
Of the Catholic-Shelly Jubilee
The Holy Father asked for a New Evangelization to usher in the Great Jubilee Year 2000, the 2000th birthday of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our Bishops entrusted the New Evangelization to Our Lady of Guadalupe. They said, "We entrust our commitment to giving birth (Second Incarnation) with new fervor to the life of the gospel in our hemisphere, to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas. She truly was the first Christ-bearer; by her maternal intercession, may her faithful sons and daughters be renewed and discover afresh the joy and splendor and promise of bearing bearers of the good news." (Note: some groups are trying to birth the second incarnation of Christ as the church -- more powerful than Christ)
"Our Lady of Guadalupe told Father Gobbi of the Marian Movement etal..

"My great victory against all the Masonic and Satanic forces will begin from here (the Basilica Shrine), for the greatest triumph of my Son Jesus. I confirm to you that by the Great Jubilee Year 2000, there will take place the Triumph of my Immaculate Heart, of which I foretold you at Fatima, and this will come to pass with the return of Jesus in glory, to establish His Reign in the world."
"May we walk in step with the Holy Father on Our Lady of Guadalupe's path toward the Great Jubilee Year 2000!

Ditto: In 1992 Rubel Shelly and Randy Harris in The Second Incarnation wrote:

"Thus the church waits for 'his appearing and kingdom.' In the meanwhile, the body bears witness to its head in baptism and the Lord's Supper as 'symbols of the promise.' Chapter eleven argues that the end of time brings about the realization of all God ever intended the church to be." (Rubel Shelly and Randy Harris, Second Incarnation, xvii)

"When He returns the kingdom will arrive in its fullness." (p. 235)

"The best preparation for the new millennium, therefore, can only be expressed in a renewed commitment to apply, as faithfully as possible, the teachings of Vatican II to the life of every individual and of the whole Church.

"A new and very important concept came forth as one of the results of the II Vatican Council: that the charisms or gifts of the Holy Spirit should play a more important role in the Christians life; that these gifts should offer much to aid in worship, and in the decisions and evangelization in the Church.

Mercury, Hermes or Kairos was the Greek or Roman LOGOS.
Mercury, designated in astronomy, was known to be a planet in Sumerian times, some 5,000 years ago. In classical Greece it was called Apollo when it appeared as a morning star and Hermes [Pagan Logos], for the Greek equivalent of the Roman god Mercury, when it appeared as an evening star. Hermes was the swift messenger of the gods, and the planet's name is thus a reference to its rapid motions relative to the other objects in the sky.

Mercury is the swift messenger or Intercessor between men and the other Gods.  As Hermes he gives rise to the New Hermeneutic or new interpretation of Scripture because the Olden interpretation your godly parents simple READ has changed because of human evolution and the Heisenberg Uncertainty principle.  At the sub Atomic level "The more precisely the position is determine the less precisely the momentum is known."  "If you can't measure it doesn't exist." This is like the ancient science that your eyes shoot out particles to see and so wears away the meaning.  Theologians, like Rubel Shelly determined that a parchment Jesus may have held (He could have held an Isaiah scroll) does not have the same meaning for us.  That is why Jesus inspired Peter to reject "private interpretation" or further expounding of the Prophets.  The church is defined inclusively and exclusively in the prophets so that Holy Scripture to the Church meant to Jesus "The prophets and other prophecies CONCERNING ME."

The Church is built upon the Prophets and Apostles. Jesus EXPOUNDED these prophecies and Peter left his "part" for our memory. He marked anyone who went beyond as a false teacher.   You probably can get a Phd by reading textbooks about Isaiah.  You can do a complete study of the prophets and totally miss the AUTHORITY for "doing Church. If Paul spoke in a tongue or LANGUAGE other than Koine Greek--which he never did IN CHURCH in Corinth--the ANTITHESIS of speaking gibberish would be to TRANSLATE.

Many who attended at Corinth would be travelers.  Phoebe actually did her service at Cenchrea [there was no church there] aiding transients. A visitor might be from Syria and spoke Syriac in the spirit or mind.  However, they might be able to haltingly translate.

BEYOND LETTING A MEXICAN PREACH IN YOUR CONGREGATION AND LET ONE TRANSLATE. Otherwise singing mind-altering songs, playing instruments or going beyond TEACHING that which has been taught your are Winds of Change which Lynn Anderson explains using the language of WICCA.  These sudden introduction in long-faithful congregations by Progressive Preachers are not THE sin.  In Amos 8 music in the holy places were marks of "lusted after fruits" and God's SIGN that "I will not pass by again."  In Revelation the Craftsmen as speakers, singers or instrument players are REMOVED from the Book of Light when the LAMP STAND of "seven Spirits" are removed. Such group exult OVER the Regulative Principle but THEY didn't have any choice.

Charismatic Churches are very popular and our local church is anxious to repudiate the Biblical and Historical teachings and jump into something more exciting and GUARANTEED meaning Calvinism. Truth is subverted in all of the PROGRESSIVES who hear A spirit guiding them.  The Latin SPIRITUS points to Apollon and his Muses (Locusts).

Apollo's sacred tree. While in her abnormal state, the Pythia would speak, intelligibly or otherwise. Her words, however, were not directly recorded by the inquirer; instead they were interpreted and written down by the priests in what was often highly ambiguous verse.

Herodotus, but no earlier writer, mentions priestesses, whom he describes as the givers of the oracles, doubtless under some kind of inspiration from the god. A further peculiarity of Dodona was the "bronze," a large gong set vibrating at every breeze by a scourge held in the hand of a figure standing over it; the persistent ringing passed into a Greek proverbial phrase--Khsalkos Dodones ("Brass of Dodona")-- for a continuous talker who has nothing to say.

In certain ancient Israelite prophetic groups, music was used to achieve the ecstatic state, in which the participants, in their accompanying dancing, were believed to have been seized by the hand of Yahweh, the God of Israel, as in the case of Saul, the 11th-century-bc king of Israel.

The Pythia (priestess) of the Greek oracle at Delphi often went into an ecstatic state during which she uttered sounds revealed to her by the python (the snake, the symbol of resurrection), after drinking water from a certain spring.

Her "words" were then interpreted by a priest to help a suppliant find a way to avoid calamities, especially death. In primitive religions, ecstasy was a technique highly developed by shamans, religious personages with healing and psychic-transformation powers, in their "soul," or "spirit," flights.

Speaking in tongue is gibberish, singing and playing instruments:
Nike-Laity where the WOMEN sing the VICTORY songs.

"Tongues" means "Language." Only the Mad Women of Corinth and Apollon's oracle made mad noises while under the influence of drugs or music.  Only the 12 Apostles were baptized with Holy Spirit [There is no THE there] in the upper room. This was prophesied when Jesus BREATHED on the Apostles and said or promised RECEIVE HOLY SPIRIT or Breath.

The MAN Jesus was born IN THE FLESH 30 years before He was SANCTIFIED and Sent.  He was not both Lord and Christ until He was resurrected from the dead as the PATTERN for those who are SANCTIFIED as He was when He was baptized.

When SPIRIT rested on Jesus, rested and other such words, means that a voice SPOKE.  Paul was the other Apostle who was sanctified and sent after he was baptized TO WASH AWAY His sins. He had the gift of speaking in all of the TONGUES meaning DIALECTS not commonly understood.

1Cor. 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with TONGUES more than ye all:
1Cor. 14:19 Yet IN THE CHURCH
The Church or Ekklesia, like the synagogue (Paul's Words) NO ONE sang, played instruments or SPOKE THEIR OWN WORDS. Jesus said those who speak on their own are the children of the Devil.

I had rather speak five words with my UNDERSTANDING,
that by MY VOICE might TEACH others also,
than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

Acts 9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house;

and be filled with the Holy SPIRIT.
Acts 9:20 And straightway he PREACHED Christ in the synagogues,
that he is the Son of God.

God always puts His WORDS into the MOUTH of A Moses, The Prophets and LASTLY the Mouth of Jesus.  SPIRIT is a figurative or PARABLE word to explain how God does not need A Holy Spirit Person to make Himself INTELLIGIBLE.

Paul could speak many LANGUAGES because He was sent to Gentiles SO THAT He could preach the Gospel.

Those who believe NOT Jesus saying "He that believes and is Baptized shall be saved." The Believe Nots or Apistos are evil people OF the World and Jesus diied for the SINS of the World but He didn't PRAY for them. Anyone who fiddles with baptism in prophecy, example of Jesus, Commands of Jesus and part of the historic APOSTOLIC doctrine will be speaking from the spirits OF Demons or simply mocking the silly preacher to not, in the Swaggart message, leave here UNSAVED.

THIS IS WHAT JESUS CHRIST THE SPIRIT COMMANDED:

Acts 26:16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;

Acts 26:17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles,
..         unto whom now I send thee,

Acts 26:18

See                                         To open their eyes, and
..       Repent and be baptized       to TURN from darkness to light,
..                                                       and from the power of Satan unto God,
.    .   Remission                             THAT they may receive forgiveness of sins,
..       Gift of Spirit                           and inheritance among them
..                                                       which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

So, Jesus as The Holy Spirit refutes the idea that anyone is saved by "speaking an unlearned languages."

Acts 26:19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa,
I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
Acts 26:20 But
shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem,
and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, t
hat they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Conversion always demands obedience.

Deut XXX WEB. It shall happen, when all these things are come on you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you shall call them to mind among all the nations, where Yahweh your God has driven you,

[2]  and shall RETURN to Yahweh your God, and shall OBEY his voice according to all that I command you this day, you and your children, with all your heart, and with all your soul;

[3]  that then Yahweh your God will turn your captivity, and have compassion on you, and will return and gather you from all the peoples, where Yahweh your God has scattered you.

Being BAPTIZED is parallel to CONVERSION.

The Ephesian 12 were Baptized into Christ "for the forgiveness of sins." Paul an APOSTLE laid His hands on the 12 and they PROPHESIED or Taught the WORD by inspiration.  The result was that ALL of the Province HEARD THE WORD.

John Chrysostom Homily XXIX

And the Pythoness too: (for I am compelled now to bring forward and expose another disgraceful custom of theirs, which it were well to pass by, because it is unseemly for us to mention such things; but that you may more clearly know their shame it is necessary to mention it,

that hence at least ye may come to know the madness and exceeding mockery of those that make use of the soothsayers:) this same Pythoness then is said, being a female, to sit at times upon the tripod of Apollo astride, and thus the evil spirit ascending from beneath and entering the lower part of her body,

fills the woman with madness, and she with dishevelled hair begins to play the bacchanal and to foam at the mouth, and thus being in a frenzy to utter the words of her madness.

I know that you are ashamed and blush when you hear these things: but they glory both in the disgrace and in the madness which I have described. These then and all such things. Paul was bringing forward when he said, "Ye know that when ye were Gentiles, ye were led away unto those dumb idols, howsoever ye might be led."

And because he was discoursing with those who knew well, he states not all things with exact care, not wishing to be troublesome to them, but having reminded them only and brought all into their recollection, he soon quits the point, hastening to the subject before him.

But what is, "unto those dumb idols?" These soothsayers used to be led and dragged unto them.

But if they be themselves dumb, how did they give responses to others? And wherefore did the demon lead them to the images? As men taken in war, and in chains, and rendering at the same time his deceit plausible. Thus, to keep men from the notion that it was just a dumb stone, they were earnest to rivet the people to the idols that their own style and title might be inscribed upon them.

Sincere people at Corinth were travelers and spoke "minor dialect" where most understood Koine Greek which was the language of merchants.  They "thought" in their minor dialect but were commanded to TRANSLATE into Koine.

1Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,
        and have not charity,
I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

This is not speaking as in the command to SPEAK one to another to teach and comfort. Sounding brass and tinkling cymbals here are identifying marks of people who have NO LOVE. Even if they COULD speak all of the languages in the world there would be no love. The command is to SPEAK or LOGOS the Word of Christ which is the opposite of rhetoric, singing or playing instruments. Speaking in the tongues of angels was IN FACT making music in tongues.

If you recognize us as gods, we shall be your divining Muses, through us you will know the winds and the seasons, summer, [725] winter, and the temperate months. We shall not withdraw ourselves to the highest clouds like Zeus, but shall be among you and shall give to you [730] and to your children and the children of your children, health and wealth, long life, peace, youth, laughter, songs and feasts; in short, you will all be so well off, [735] that you will be weary and cloyed with enjoyment.

1Corinthians 14:8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

Salp-igx , iggos, , A. war-trumpet hupai salpiggos by sound of trumpet, S.El.711, cf. Ar.Ach.1001; also apo s. X.Eq.Mag.3.12, Plb.4.13.1.

The trumpet was for sending signals: if someone makes music it might getyou killed:

Xen. Cav. 3.11 In the sham fight when the regiments pursue and fly from one another at the gallop in two squadrons of five regiments, each side led by its commander, the regiments should ride through one another. How formidable they will look when they charge front to front; how imposing when, after sweeping across the Hippodrome, they stand facing one another again; how splendid, when the trumpet sounds and they charge once more at a quicker pace!

[12] After the halt, the trumpet should sound once more, and they should charge yet a third time at top speed; and when they have crossed, they should all range themselves in battle line preparatory to being dismissed, and ride up to the Council, just as you are accustomed to do.

Paul spoke LOGOS in clear conversational style because the purpose was to TEACH the Word of Christ.

Paul is warning about pagan rituals which involved the actual buring of bodies including the Jews in Jerusalem. Therefore, paul repudiates both Judaism and paganism where loud music helped drown out the screams so the priests could hear the voice of Molech etal.

Plato in Cratylus mystically connects her name (Rhea) with the idea of 'flowing' (from the Greek reo--'to flow') [Rheology, for example, is the science of fluid flow.], meaning thereby simply 'that fontal power by which she contains in transcendent union the divisible rivers of life'. Rhea, is, therefore, the 'mother of lives,' the mystical Eve [Zoe], the 'mother of all living.'

Proclus (Theol. Plat. Taylor's ed., i.267) says that according to Orpheus, 'This Goddess, when considered as united to Saturn by the most exalted part of her essence, is called Rhea; but considered as producing Jupiter, and together with Jupiter unfolding the total and partial orders of the Gods [i.e., the powers of the Sensible World], she is called Ceres.' This is a very important distinction to bear in mind.

Now Rhea, as Ceres, in Hymn XIV, is called 'brass-sounding' and 'drum-beating'. This has reference to the mystical results of certain sounds and rhythm, part and parcel of what the Hindus call Mantravidyβ. I remember reading a curious old French book in the Bibliothθque de la Ville of Clermont-Ferrand, one of the books confiscated from the Minime Monastery of the same town, at the time of the Revolution.

This work dealt with the magical properties of music, and described for what especial purposes the various instruments of music were used in the Temple-service of the Jews.

Acts 7:43 Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.

The Ghebers of Hebron 2 Hoaea, xii. 4 derives the name Inracl from Sarah to contend, to fight, and El = God of Fire. — Gen. xxxii. '28. Asarians, Asriel, Israel, a name of the War god {Exodus, xiii. 21, 22, xiv. 25), Saturn and the Sun. The Fire-god Azar was the God of war, and M'irs was the Sun. — Macrob. I. xvii. OS

But these fire-worshippers carried with them the arks of Moloch and Khiun (Life-god), their Adon, and they had, like the other peoples of the Delta, their Mysteries, which the priests instituted. They took with them from Phoenicia, probably, a certain knowledge of fixed vocal signs; and it would not be safe to deny to Syria the possession of some sort of (Syrian) hieroglyphs

Remphan, (hrem-fan') is the King James Version of the Bible's rendering of the Greek word variously appearing in Acts 7 verse 43 as Ρομφα, Ρεμφάν, Ρεμφαμ, Ραιφαν, and Ρεφαν. It is part of a quotation from Amos 5 verse 26 where the Septuagint's reading raiphan or rephan stands the Hebrew Chiun or Kewan. The Greek forms are probably simple mistakes for the Hebrew, k (qoppa) having been replaced by r (resh) and ph substituted for v (yod). Kewan is probably the Old Babylonian Kayawanu, the planet Saturn, another (the Akkadian) name for which is Sakkut, which appears as Siccuth in the earlier part of the verse.

THE MUSIC AT THE ARCANE RITES. Iamblichus III

In addition to these things you remark as follows: "So also certain others of these ecstatics become entheast or inspired when they hear cymbals, drums, or some choral chant, 21 as, for example, those who are engaged in the Korybantic Rites, those who are possessed at the Sabazian festival and those who are celebrating the Rites of the Divine Mother."

21. Some exhibition of this kind is described by the Apostle Paul in the first Epistle to the Corinthians. "If," says he, "the whole assembly come together to the same place and all prattle in tongues, and common men should come in, or unbelievers, will they not say that you are raving?"

Hence he counsels that only two or three should speak in turn, and one interpret; but if nobody present is capable of this, they should keep silence, and speak only to themselves and to God:

"for not of tumult is he a god, but of tranquillity." (Ovid; Fasti IV,
"The attendants beat the brass, and the hoarse-sounding hides. Cymbals
they strike in place of helmets, tambourines for the shields; the pipe yielded its Phrygian notes.")

[The Fruits in Amos and Revelation 18]

Amos 8:1 Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit.
Amos 8:2 And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.

The name Zagreus the Kissos and nimr remind us of Kissaia or Asiatic Ethiopia, and the Zagros mountains occupied by the Nimr. Assyria was called "the land of Nimrod." -Amos VIII.

Because God turned Israel over to worship the starry host whatever they called their god in the Monarchy he/they was not the God of Abraham.  Christ came to PUT DOWN that evil system and not replace it with another worship patternism.

Paul in reinforcing what he and other Jews had practiced from the wilderness onward by attending the synagogue which quarantined the godly people from the Civil-Military-Clergy system turned over to worship the starry host.  Both the laded burden and the REST Jesus gave us stops all of the rhetoric, singing or playing instruments.
