They are not boasting of being PREDESTINATED and I doubt it not: ad 2000 fits perfectly with Moses' account which goes back to c BC 4000 with the "taking captive" of God's free people in Sumer or Babylonia whose creation or casting down of the heavens and earth is recorded on Clay Tablets which define explicitly the end-time Babylon Mother of Harlots (Rev 17). In Revelation 18 she uses "lusted after fruits" as religious craftsmen, singers, instrument players and grinders or prostitutes: John calls them SORCERERS who HAD deceived the whole world once and would be CAST ALIVE INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE. If Edward Fudge says that they will be CAST ALIVE INTO THE LAKE of fire to be CONSUMED the universal message is that THEY are the Devil and His Angels of Blight lusting for stages and pulpits.

Edward Fudge Rethinking Hell The Fire That Consumes: A Disciple of Christ is commanded to PREACH the WORD by READING the Word for Comfort and Doctrine. Edward Fudge credits the book and himself with the introduction of Instrumental Music knowing that it would create a NEW SECTARIAN split known as The Progressive Church of Christ. A Disciple of Christ does not make a profession out of listing all of the "proofs" out of context needing to TRUMP those not still ANTI-whatever.

In Isaiah 30 inspired by the Spirit OF Christ the MARKS of God casting His ENEMIES into "hell" are the sound of wind, string and percussion instruments. The universal connection with assualting God and destroying His REST by MUSIC is being cast on a bed of maggots to burn up and be CONSUMED. Consumption is MARKED by what Christ called the Singing and harp-playing prostitute in the garden of Eden. Being CAST as Profane is the word Chalal Ch2490 which is the same as David's praise word h1984 Halal which is the MARK of Lucifer h1966

Pledged to Dogma John Mark cannot understand: "So, why did Israel linger three days at Jordan’s shore? Why were they intimidated by this river? significant moment in the story of Joshua.
Josh. 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage;The Lipscomb dogma is that they were just plain cowards based on his reading of published theology.

I would venture a guess as to why it took three days: it was not cowardice? They probably needed three days to prepare the food to feed an army going into the land. Joshua didn't have any reason to worry about the river.
Joshua makes the initial number certain:

until every thing was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak unto the people,
according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over.
