John Mark Hicks writes about the "Stone-Campbell Hermeneutics I – Campbell’s Scholarly Baconianism
."  Go to "Google" and look up Stone-Campbell Hermeneutics and you will understand mob violence.

Almost all christianism or religionism with its unlawful priesthood claims to have a superior spiritual connection wiith God.  The Scribes and Pharisees thought that they could change the Word of God to give it more power and to fetch a higher price. Therefore, Jesus marked such speakers, singers and instrument players as hypocrites.  It one suggests that God has not condemned all of the theatrical arts and crafts as legalistic tools to do HARDER worship services the one can say that Jesus has NOT said, "thou shalt NOT be a hypocrite."  Nehemiah 12 looking backwared by the Spirit OF Christ called the king and sacrificial system PARASITES.

This is a review of a sermon insisting that when God COMMANDS something that He does not mean that we cannot do something He has not commanded in the same context.  If God has commanded that the church as ekklesia or synagogue be restricted to being "a school of the Bible" others would say that God DID NOT say 'thou shalt not do Rock and Roll in the class room" then we can do Rock and Roll instead of teaching the Bible. Furthermore, that human opinion then becomes the will of God!

This is the law of Silence used by the Disciples of Christ then the NACC where authority comes from Scripture, tradition and church councils.  However, the word DOCTRINE means only that which God in Christ has taught while DOGMA is that which arises out of the human heart. That "doubtful disputations" is outlawed by Paul in Romans 14 to exclude any private opinion. That is the condition for the church of synagogue in Romans 15 which is INCLUSIVE of "that which is written" or Scripture."

When a free community, held in subjection by force, rises, as is only natural, and asserts its independence, it is no sooner reduced than we fancy ourselves obliged to punish it severely; [6] although the right course with freemen is not to chastise them rigorously when they do rise, but rigorously to watch them before they rise, and to prevent their ever entertaining the idea, and, the insurrection suppressed, to make as few responsible for it as possible.

-Autonomism The term autonomia/Autonome is derived from the Greek "auto'-nomo*s" referring to someone or something which lives by his/her own rule. Autonomy, in this sense, is not independence. While independence refers to an autarcic kind of life, separated from the community, autonomy refers to life in society but by one's own rule. Aristotle thus considered that only beasts or gods could be independent and live apart from the polis ("community"), while Kant defined the Enlightenment by autonomy of thought and the famous "Sapere aude" ("dare to know) refers to a set of left-wing political and social movements and theories close to the socialist movement. Autonomism (autonomia), as an identifiable theoretical system, first emerged in Italy in the 1960s from workerist (operaismo) communism. Later, post-Marxist and anarchist tendencies became significant after influence from the Situationists,

The only DOCTRINE of Christ is that inspired by Christ the Spirit: that includes "Moses" who defined a FALLEN people and the PROPHETS who repudiate the Civil-Military-Clergy system as parasites and robbers.

Jesus outlawed the LADED BURDEN (songs) and Paul outlawed SELF-pleasure BEFORE He included "that which is written" as the SOLE resource to be called the teachings of Christ.  The "creation of mental excitement" used to please or divert people is DOGMA.

THERE IS NO DEBATE: Doctrine consists ONLY of that which Christ in person or in Spirit taught in a SPIRITUAL SENSE only through the prophets.

If you hack up Scripture and SELF-promotion you are DOGMATIC which means that it is AUTO promoted.  The authority Paul outlawed was Authentia or that which originates out of self.  The direct command is to TEACH THAT WHICH HAS BEEN TAUGHT.  Moses was PREACHED by being READ in the Synagogues: that defines the Church of Christ in the Wilderness which excluded vocal or instrumental rejoicing which would NEGATE silencing the burden laders. Paul commanded Timothy how to hold CHURCH: Read the Scriptures publically, explain any DOCTRINE included in THAT READ PORTION and admonish everyone to obey it: they say AMEN.

That would exclude SELF or AUTO composed songs or self-inflating rhetoric.

That would EXCLUDE any "resolution of a body" meaning dominant preacher and elders to COMMAND "instrumental praise." Instrumental music is defined as LEGAL MACHINERY to force submission.

That would EXCLUDE prevailing opinions as: "Our culture enjoys CCM with a Rock beat." That would be DOGMA as well as violating DOCTRINE.

God is never silent about anything He wants or rejects. If you are an EARTHLING then you cannot speak anything but earth.

John 3:31 He that cometh from above is above all:
        he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth:
        He that cometh from heaven is above all.

If you are an EARTHLING then you cannot hear from heaven or the spirit.

John 3:32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth;
        and NO MAN receiveth his testimony.

If YOU receive testimony (Spirit) directly from God then YOU claim that YOUR words are the GUARANTEE that God is not a liar. If you reject the Spirit promised AFTER baptism then you call Jesus Christ and most of church history LIARS.

He that hath received his testimony [Spirit] hath set to his seal that God is true. John 3:33

If you claim that you are the "receiver" which converts breath or Spirit into words then you claim that you ARE Jesus Christ.

For he whom God hath sent speaketh the WORDS of God:

The words did not originate with Jesus the Son any more than the sunlight which strikes our face IS the sun. He spoke what the MIND of God spake forth through His breath.

That is, Jesus Christ is the Word (words) of God MADE FLESH: If you claim that you were God Who dwelled among men then you are a liar.  Because,

for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. John 3:34

Measure means a Limited Portion: If you claim that you speak the words of God then you deny that ALL of the Spirit was received by the Son of God as the ordained "receiver." But, Jesus said that only the words that I SPEAK are SPIRIT and that leaves NOTHING for mortals to speak.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63

If Jesus The Christ of God observed the silence of God then please do not trust your children to a man who sees visions, hears audible voices, hears the Holy Spirit tell him to lie about all of the Bible or suggest that God's SILENCE is their AUTHORITY to invent CEREMONIAL LEGALISM because they are lost and need to work their way into God's grace.

While God has NOT been silent about using "machines for doing hard work" in the assembly, those who claim their right to deliberately destroy people CLAIM that God and the Bible had nothing to say about silence. This is one that comes to mind because the Israelites were abandoned to paganism because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai although God HATH NOT said, thou shallt not engage in musical idolatry.

Stand in the gate of the Lords house [courts], and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the Lord. Jeremiah 7:2

Shachah (h7812) shaw-khaw'; a prim. root; to depress, i. e. prostrate (espec. reflex. in homage to royalty or God): - bow (self) down, crouch, fall down (flat), humbly beseech, do (make) obeisance, do reverence, make to stoop, worship.

Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel,
        Amend your ways and your doings,
        and I will cause you to dwell in this place. Jeremiah 7:3

Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, are these. Jeremiah 7:4

For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings;
        if ye thoroughly
execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; Jeremiah 7:5

If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow,
        and
shed not innocent blood in this place,
        neither walk after other gods to your hurt: Jeremiah 7:6

Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever. Jeremiah 7:7

Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit. Jeremiah 7:8

Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely,
        and
burn incense unto Baal,
        and
walk after other gods whom ye know not; Jeremiah 7:9

And come and stand before me in this HOUSE, which is called by my name, and say,
        We are delivered to do all these abominations? Jeremiah 7:10

1 Macc 1:54 - Now on the fifteenth day of Chislev, in the one hundred and forty-fifth year, they erected a desolating sacrilege upon the altar of burnt offering. They also built altars in the surrounding cities of Judah,

Notice in verse 59 that this desolating sacrilege could be another altar placed upon the regular altar for burnt offerings.

Of Dancing by the prophets of Jezebel:

"It was probably usual to welcome a king or general with music and dancing...The distinctly religious dance is more frequently mentioned. The clear instances of it in the Bible are the dance of the women of Israel at the Red Sea, headed by Miriam with her tambourine (Exodus 15:20); the dance of the Israelites round the golden calf (Exodus 32:19); the dance of the maidens of Shiloah at the annual feast (Judges 21:19 ff);

the leaping or limping of the prophets of Baal round their altar on Carmel (1 Kings 18:26);
and the
dancing of David in front of the ark (2 Samuel 6:14-16) (Int. Std. Bible Ency., p. 1169-70)

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel 9:27

PHOENI´CE Deities: Baal and Ashtaroth, the two chief divinities of Phoenicia, were the sun and moon. The name of Baal was applied to Phoenician kings, and Belus is the first king of Assyria and Phoenicia. At a later period Baal became a distinct supreme God, and the sun obtained a separate worship (2 Kings, xxiii. 5). As the supreme god, the Greeks and Romans identified him with their Zeus, or Jupiter, and not with Apollo. Bel or Baal was also identified with the planet Saturn, We find his name prefixed to that of other deities, as Baal-Phegor, the god of licentiousness, Baal-Zebub, the god of flies, &c.; as well as to that of many places in which he had temples, as Baal-Gad, Baal-Hamon, &c. Groves on elevated places were dedicated to his worship, and human victims were sometimes offered to him as well as to Moloch. (Jerem. xix. 4, 5.)

He was worshipped with fanatical rites, his votaries crying aloud, and cutting themselves with knives and lancets. Ashtaroth or Astarte, the principal female divinity, was identified by the Greeks and Romans sometimes with Juno, sometimes with Venus, though properly and originally she represented the moon.

The principal seat of her worship was Sidon. She was symbolised by a heifer, or a figure with a heifer's head, and horns resembling the crescent moon.

The name of Astarte was Phoenician (Ps. Lucian, de Dea Syr. c. 4); but she does not appear with that appellation in the early Greek writers, who regard Aphrodite, or Venus Urania, as the principal Phoenician goddess.

Herodotus (i. 105, 131, iii. 8) says that her worship was transferred from Ascalon, its oldest seat, to Cyprus and Cythera, and identifies her with the Babylonian Mylitta, the character of whose wore ship was unequivocal.

Her orginal image or symbol, like that of many of the oldest deities, was a conical stone, as in the case of the Paphian Venus (Tac. H. ii. 3.; Max. Tyr. Diss. 38), of the Cybele of Pessinus (Liv. xxix. 11), and others. In Cyprus her worship degenerated into licentiousness, but the Cyprian coins bear the primitive image of the conical stone.

In Carthage, on the contrary, she appeared as a virgin, with martial attributes, and was worshipped with severe rites. She must be distinguished from Atargatis, or Derceto, who had also a temple at Ascalon, and was represented as half woman, half fish. It is characteristic of the religion of the Phoenicians, that though they adored false gods, they were not so much idolaters as the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, since their temples had either no representation of the deity, or only a rude symbol.

The worship of Astarte seems to have been first corrupted at Babylon. Adonis, who had been wounded by the boar on Lebanon, was worshipped at Aphaca, about 7 miles E. of Byblus, near the source of the stream which bears his name, and which was said to be annually reddened with his blood. (Zosim. i. 58; Ps. Lucian, de Dea Syr. c. 9.) By the Phoenicians Adonis was also regarded as the sun, and his death typified the winter. His.rites at Aphaca, when abolished by Constantine, were polluted with every species of abomination. (Euseb. V. Const. iii. 55.)

Is this house, which is called by my name,
        become a
DEN of ROBBERS in your eyes?
        Behold, even I have seen it, saith the Lord. Jeremiah 7:11

But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh,
       where I set my name at the first,
       and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel. Jeremiah 7:12

And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the Lord,
       and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking,
       but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not; Jeremiah 7:13

Therefore will I do unto this house,
        which is called by my name,

        wherein ye trust
, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers,
        as I have done to Shiloh. Jeremiah 7:14

And I will cast you out of my sight,
        as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim. Jeremiah 7:15

Therefore pray not thou for this people,
       neither lift up cry nor prayer for them,
       neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee. Jeremiah 7:16

Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? Jeremiah 7:17

The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough,
       to make cakes to the queen of heaven,
       and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods,
       that they may provoke me to anger. Jeremiah 7:18

Do they provoke me to anger? saith the Lord:
       do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? Jeremiah 7:19

Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched. Jeremiah 7:20

> Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel;
       Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh. Jeremiah 7:21

21. Put ... burnt offerings unto ... sacrifices ... eat flesh--Add the former (which the law required to be wholly burnt) to the latter (which were burnt only in part), and "eat flesh" even off the holocausts or burnt offerings. As far as I am concerned, saith Jehovah, you may do with one and the other alike. I will have neither (Isa 1:11 Ho 8:13 Am 5:21,22).

Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah. Isaiah 1:9

Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah. Isaiah 1:10

To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord:
        I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the
fat of fed beasts;
        and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. Isaiah 1:11

When ye come to appear before me,
        who hath required
this at your hand, to tread my courts? Isaiah 1:12

Bring no more vain oblations;
        incense
is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths,
        the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with;
        it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Isaiah 1:13

Ramac (g7429) raw-mas'; a prim. root; to tread upon (as a potter, in walking or abusively: - oppressor, stamp upon, trample (under feet), tread (down, upon).

But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. Re.11:2

Pateo (g3961) pat-eh'-o; from a der. prob. of 3817 (mean. a "path"); to trample (lit. or fig.): - tread (down, under foot).

Paio (g3817) pah'-yo; a prim. verb; to hit (as if by a single blow and less violently than 5180); spec. to sting (as a scorpion): - smite, strike.

They blindfolded him and demanded, "Prophesy! Who hit you?" Lu.22:64

Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. Isaiah 1:14

And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Isaiah 1:15

Isaiah 1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Hos 8:11 Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
Hos 8:12 I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.

Hos 8:13 They sacrifice
flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the Lord accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
Hos 8:14 For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and
        Judah hath multiplied fenced cities:
        but I will send a fire upon his cities,
        and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

I
hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. Amos 5:21

hough ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. Amos 5:22

Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. Amos 5:23

Hebrews 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats,

God hath not said, thou shalt not sing and play instruments and pretend that you are worshiping Me.

> But they HEARKENED NOT, nor inclined their ear,
       but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart,
       and went backward, and not forward. Jeremiah 7:24

THE took the liberty when God had been silent and imposed it on others: No man can hear the voice of God and therefore man's imagination is NATURALLY doing to do evil.

Mowecah (h4156) mo-ay-tsaw'; from 3289; a purpose: - counsel, device.

Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee. Psa 5:10

I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. Psa 81:10
But my people would not HEARKEN to my voice; and Israel would none of me. Psa 81:11

So I gave them up unto their OWN HEARTS LUST:
and they walked in their OWN COUNSELS. Psa 81:12

Rom. 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

2Cor. 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee. Psa 5:10

When the prophets were sent to warn them it was the Spirit OF Christ

Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day,
        I have even sent unto you all my servants the PROPHETS,
        daily rising up early and sending them: Jeremiah 7:25

Yet they HEARKENED NOT unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers. Jeremiah 7:26

The prophets were the enemies of the priestly class.  When people IMAGINE that God wants to be disturbed with loud noise--never called music--it is certain that the "music" is the MARK which proves that they will not or cannot hear the Words of God. Pitiful.

Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them;
       but they will not hearken to thee:
       thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee. Jeremiah 7:27

But thou shalt say unto them,
       This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God,
       nor receiveth correction: truth is perished,
       and is cut off from their mouth. Jeremiah 7:28

God turned them over to worship the starry host because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai. When they demanded a king it was so that they could WORSHIP LIKE THE NATIONS.

Gowy (h1471) go'ee; rarely (short.) goy go'-ee; appar. from the same root as 1465 (in the sense of massing); a foreign nation; hence a Gentile; also (fig.) a troop of animals, or a flight of locusts: - Gentile, heathen, nation, people

And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways:
now make us a king to judge us like all the
nations. 1 Sam 8:5

Like the nations the LORD destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the LORD your God. De.8:20

You say, "We want to be like the nations (heathen), like the peoples of the world, who serve wood and stone." But what you have in mind will never happen. Eze.20:32

Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away,
       and take up a lamentation on high places;
       for the Lord hath REJECTED and forsaken the generation of his wrath. Jeremiah 7:29

In the Greek language, Paul warned about older males lifting holy PALMS rather than women waving unholy ARMS.  That was to prevent the outbreak of wrath which could ONLY happen among women and perverted males.  This was the abomination to which God abandoned them.

For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the Lord:
       they have set their ABOMINATION in the house which is called by my name,
       to pollute it. Jeremiah 7:30

Jer. 7:31 And they have built the high places of Tophet,which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.

Of Molech from Amos: "Sometimes he was represented as a horrible idol with fire burning inside so that what was placed in his arms was consumed. In the above illustration, a heathen priest has taken a baby from its mother to be offered to Molech.

Lest the parents should relent, a loud noise was made on drums to hide the screams
The word for
drums is tophim from which the word 'Tophet,' the place mentioned in verses such as Jeremiah 7:31:

''They have built the high place of Tophet... to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire. While drums sounded, bands played, and priests chanted, human sacrifices were devoured in the flames." (Woodrow, Ralph, Babylon Mystery Religion, p. 72-73)

This is a picture of the "worship" in Amos
which people claim the right to restore
as the curse imposed by God BECAUSE of musical idolatry.

Jer. 7:32 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place.

Jer. 7:33 And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.

Hos 8:1 Set the trumpet to thy mouth.
He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD,
because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.

Hos 8:2 Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.

Hos 8:3 Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.

Hos 8:4 They have
         set up kings, but not by me:
         they have made princes, and I knew it not:
         of their silver and their gold have they made them idols,
         that they may be cut off.

Hos 8:13 They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it;
         but the LORD accepteth them not;
         now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins:
         they shall return to Egypt.

Hos 8:14 For Israel hath forgotten his Maker,
         and buildeth temples;
         and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities:
         but I will send a fire upon his cities,
         and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

Matt 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you,
Behold, he is in the
desert; go not forth:
behold, he is in the
secret chambers; believe it not.

Matt 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east,
and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Matt 24:28 For wheresoever the carcase is,
there will the

Jer. 7:34 Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.
