Romans 1

ISIS is the Mother Goddess of Demon-Kairos Worship: Spiritual Terrorists and Images of Hell: Lipscomb University Summer Celebration 2016

Romans 1, Romans chapter one: Justification by faith only was INVENTED and published in the yer 1525. A Just person DOES just things: believing that Jesus is the Christ of God is a RIGHTEOUS deed and therefore means that they are righteous. However, that does not mean that they have been REGENERATED by having God give us A holy spirit or A good conscience when we REQUEST it by obedience at baptism.
Alistair McGrath on justification and regeneration Iustitia Dei, Vol. 1

p. 184 "The significance of the Protestant distinction between justification and regeneration is that a fundamental discontinuity has been introduced into the western theological tradition where none had existed before. Despite the astonishingly theological diversity of the late medieval period, a consensus relating to the nature of justification was maintained throughout. The Protestant understanding of the nature represents a theological novum, whereas its understanding of its mode does not."

p. 186 "The essential feature of the Reformation doctrines of justification is that a deliberate and systematic distinction is made between justification and regeneration. Although it must be emphasized that this distinction is purely notional, in that it is impossible to separate the two within the context of the ordo sautis, THE ESSENTIAL POINT IS THAT A NOTIONAL DISTINCTION IS MADE WHERE NONE HAD BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BEFORE IN THE HISTORY OF CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE. A FUNDAMENTAL DISCONTINUITY WAS INTRODUCED INTO THE WESTERN THEOLOGICAL TRADITION WHERE NONE HAD EVER EXISTED, OR EVER BEEN CONTEMPLATED BEFORE. The Reformation understanding of the nature of justification - as opposed to its mode - must be regarded as a genuine theological novum."

The mark of anti-Christ is to deny that Christ came fully in the flesh. That was the Gnostic denial and claim that Jesus didn't even leave footprints in the sand. However, the plan of God is to accept the man Jesus as "the Christ of God" with a gospel which relates to our own human experience to make us disciples. Modern Gnostics who teach "faith only" utterly deny that Christ involves Himself in physical means and INSIST that He come to them MYSTICALLY or even, as in "believer's baptism" come and die for them personally. This believer's baptism also leads some to believe that THEY have to become CHRIST and die for their own sins.

Rejection of literal water as Christ's means of giving a new birth has always been connected with the denial that He came adequately in the flesh the first time. See Believer's Baptism as an ancient Pagan Baptism.

See our Baptism index to see that ALL early scholars believed and taught that baptism is God's chosen method to bestow A holy spirit.

Romans 1:17 is MISTRANSLATED to prove faith only and that those who BELIEVE the statements of the Bible are heretical.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Rom 1:17

It is not possible to prove FAITH ONLY without mistranslating and by being blind to the fact that there are verses BEFORE and AFTER verse 17.

PAUL, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, Rom 1:1

(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) Rom 1:2
Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was
MADE of the seed of David according to the flesh; Rom 1:3

And DECLARED to be the Son of God with power,
according to the spirit of holiness,
by the resurrection from the dead: Rom 1:4

Verse 5 is adequate to prove that "justification by faith" does not mean FAITH ONLY and that justification does not mean regeneration or the remission of sins: the Gospel of FREE GRACE is taught to be OBEYED or there is no faith.

By whom we have received grace and apostleship, Rom 1:5
for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

Now to him that is of power to stablish you
        according to my gospel,
        and the
preaching of Jesus Christ,
according to the revelation of the mystery,
which was kept secret since the world began, 1 Cor 16:25

This was the tiny Remnant of Jews who had not "bowed to Baal" and to the Remnant who answered the invitation

Notice the two GROUPS which is always the meaning of PREDESTINATED purpose.

And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob,
........[1] and to restore the preserved of Israel:
........[2] I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles,
........[3] that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. Isa 49:6

Salvation is Yeshuwah! God chooses those who DO NOT repudiate Him by THEIR OWN SINS.

Thus saith the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One,
        to him whom man despiseth,
to him whom the nation abhorreth,
to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship,
because of the Lord that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel,
and he shall choose thee. Isa 49:7
But what saith the answer of God unto him?
........ I have reserved to myself seven thousand men,
........ who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Ro.11:4

But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets,
according to the commandment of the everlasting God,
made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: 1 Cor 16:26

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you,
          that ye should not
obey the truth, before whose eyes
          Jesus Christ hath been
evidently set forth, crucified among you? Galatians 3:1

This only would I learn of you,
Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law,
or (Received ye the Spirit) by the hearing of faith? Galatians 3:2

WHAT? For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:26

HOW? For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal 3:27

HOW ABOUT JESUS' PROMISE TO MARTHA: isn't this SALVATION by FAITH ONLY? No, not at all: the topic is imminent resurrection:

Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." John 11:23
Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. ohn 11:24
Jesus said unto her,
I am the resurrection, and the life:
        he that
believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:25
And whosoever liveth [in Me] and believeth IN me shall never die.
Believest thou this? John 11:26

Pisteuo (g4100) pist-yoo'-o; from 4102; to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), i.e. credit; by impl. to entrust (espec. one's spiritual well-being to Christ): - believe (-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with.

Pistis (g4102) pis'-tis; from 3982; persuasion, i.e. credence; mor. conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), espec. reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstr. constancy in such profession; by extens. the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: - assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity.

At this time Mary made the good confession:

She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. John 11:27

When the Enuch asked Philip "what hinders me from being baptized"

Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. Acts 8:35

When Philip preached to him Jesus, the eunuch KNEW that it demanded BAPTISM.

And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? Ac.8:36

Faith-only did not save him but APISTOS or "believeth not" would prevent baptism. He was "justified" by his faith which led to the important confession made by Martha.

And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said,
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Acts 8:37

The eunuch had no CHURCH needing to VOTE HIM IN before he could be baptized. Therefore, he needed baptism in order to have his sins remitted EVEN AFTER he expressed his faith.

And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Acts 8:38

And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. Acts 8:39

After coming to the tomb:

Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? John 11:40

Jesus didn't say: if thou woudest believe thou SHALT BE SAVED!

Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. John 11:41

The faith of Martha caued Jesus to work a miracle to validate HIS ministry:

And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. John 11:42

Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: Rom 1:6

Kletos (g2822) klay-tos; from the same as 2821; invited, i.e. appointed, or (spec.) a saint: - called.
Klesis (g2821) klay'-sis; from a shorter form of 2564; an invitation (fig.): - calling.
Voco
1. To cite, summon into court, before a magistrate
    2. To bid, invite one as a guest, to dinner, etc. (syn. invito): Pa. Solus cenabo domi?

Rom. 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Rom. 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Prae-destĭno. to determine beforehand, to predestine II. To provide beforehand: “cavea modico praedestinata pretio,”

This does not mean "decided" but what one anticipates.

Praedstino, a-re, to set before as a goal, predestine: sibi triumphos,

Liv. 45 40. [8] They ought to have been riding with their father, wearing the praetexta and anticipating [praedestinavit] triumphs similar to his. A few days later M. Antonius, a tribune of the plebs, summoned a meeting of the Assembly that Aemilius might address it. [9] Following the practice of other commanders, he gave an account of what he had done. It was a memorable speech worthy of a Roman leader.

To all that be in Rome, beloved of God,
        called
to be saints: Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Rom 1:7

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. Rom 1:8

These people continued to be justified by faith because they continued to walk in that faith.

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; Rom 1:9

Serve means worship. Paul's personal prayers were worship IN THE SPIRIT:

Latreuo (g3000) lat-ryoo'-o; from latris , (a hired menial); to minister (to God), i.e. render religious homage: - serve, do the service, worship (-per)

We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. Heb.13:10
For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. Heb 13:11

Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you. Rom 1:10

For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; Rom 1:11

Paul ministered the spirit by preaching the truth.

That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God,
that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable,
          being
sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:16

To be SANCTIFIED means to receive A holy spirit. That is the meaning of the gift of A holy spirit (Acts 2:38) or A good conscience or consiousness at baptism (1 Peter 3:21)

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience,
and our bodies washed with pure water. Heb.10:22

Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 1 Peter 3:20

Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for A clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 1 Peter 3:21

That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. Rom 1:12

Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. Rom 1:13

I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. Rom 1:14

So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. Rom 1:15

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:
for it is the power of God unto salvation
          to every one that believeth;
to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Rom 1:16

Believing the gospel gives one POWER: that is the meaning of justification. Believing the gospel AGREES with God that He is righteous and provides Light and Life to those who ASK of Him. BELIEVETH insists that you believe the PROMISE of God in Christ that "He that believes AND is baptized shall be saved."

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
          that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved. John 3: 17

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words,
hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken,
the same shall
judge him in the last day. Jn.12:48

Here are some of those WORDS:

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world,
and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15
He that believeth
and is baptized shall be saved;
but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected (despised)
the counsel
of God against themselves,
being not baptized of him. Luke 7:30

He that believeth on him is not condemned:
but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3: 18

You will notice that FAITH justifies in that it proves that one is NOT CONDEMNED. However, one who is not subject to the JUDGMENT at the end of their lives IS not yet a spirit-washed DISCIPLE who has signed on with Jesus Christ.

And this is the condemnation,
that light is come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light,
because their deeds were evil. John 3:19

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light,
          neither cometh to the light,
lest his deeds should be reproved. John John 3: 20

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light,
that his deeds may be made manifest,
that they are wrought in God. John 3: 21

After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea;
and there he tarried with them, and baptized. John 3: 22

And John also was baptizing in non near to Salim,
because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. John 3: 23

God justifies those who do not call Him a LIAR because He connected salvation and the remission of sins to a request made AT the time and place of baptism (1 Pet 3:21_

And all the people that heard him, and the publicans,
justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. Luke 7:29

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected (despised) the counsel of God against themselves,
being not baptized of him. Luke 7:30

Believing the gospel JUSTIFIES in that one confesses the rightness of God to make demands:

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Jn.1:12

Believing DID NOT cause them to become the sons of God.

WHAT? For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:26

HOW? For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal 3:27

Being justified gives one the POWER to become the children of God. If you don't believe that God can internally WASH you at baptism then you simply CANNOT BE a believer. You have NO power.

This POWER is ministered by baptizing those who have faith:

THE GREAT COMMISSION:

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Matt 28:18

Go ye therefore, and teach [disciple] all nations,

BY: baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matt 28:19

AND:

BY: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt 28:20

Only DISCIPLES are called CHRISTIANS:

And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. Ac.11:26

Disciples are MADE by teaching, baptizing and teaching.

Therefore, no UNbaptized believer is a Christian. Very clear.

THE GREAT COMMISSION REPEATED:

And he said unto them,

Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

He that

BY: believeth
and
BY: is baptized shall be saved; Mark 16:16a

THE POWER TO BE (future tense) is believing the Gospel that Jesus Christ has that POWER.

He that believeth is NOT ASHAMED of Christ and His good news. That belief gives one POWER to become children of God.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:
for it is the power of God unto salvation
          to every one that believeth;
to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Rom 1:16

Only by justifying God by believing that the Son of God has the power to give life does one see an open door at the end of the road: the WAY being hodos. At baptism one ENTERS INTO (Eis) salvation or the remission of sins:

Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 1 Cor 16:25

CHRIST BY PURE GRACE OPENS THE DOOR SO THAT WE CAN REQUEST THAT SALVATION

and is baptized shall be saved; Mark 16:16a

But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets,
according to the commandment of the everlasting God,
made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: 1 Cor 16:26

HOWEVER:

but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16b

Apisteo (g569) ap-is-teh'-o; from 571; to be unbelieving, i.e. (trans.) disbelieve, or (by impl.) disobey: - believe not.

Jesus didn't have to say that HE THAT IS NOT BAPTIZED shall be damned because UNBELIEF had denied them of the POWER to become a child of God.

Apistos (g571) ap'-is-tos; from 1 (as a neg. particle) and 4103; (act.) disbelieving, i.e. without Chr. faith (spec. a heathen); (pass.) untrustworthy (person), or incredible (thing): - that believeth not, faithless, incredible thing, infidel, unbeliever (-ing).

He that believeth on him is not condemned:
but he that believeth not is condemned already,
          because he hath not believed
in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3: 18

WE have already noted that rejecting BAPTISM is rejecting God, failing to justify Him and therefore calling Him a liar. The ARTICLE of FAITH here includes the PROMISE of the gospel that "He that believeth AND is baptized shall be saved."

And all the people that heard him, and the publicans,
justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. Luke 7:29

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves,
being not baptized of him. Luke 7:30

THE MARK 16 JOHN 12 PARALLEL

The response to the preaching of Jesus and John was to be baptized FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS. This is identical to post-Pentecost baptism which is for both Jews and Gentiles and as a request for A holy or regenerated personal spirit.

And he said unto them,
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15
He that
           BY: believeth
and
BY: is baptized shall be saved; Mark 16:16a
And all the people that heard him, and the publicans,

           justified God,

being baptized with the baptism of John. Luke 7:29

but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16b

BELIEVETH NOT rejects the PLAN of God in Christ to remit sins at the time and place of baptism. If you DON'T believe it you just do not have FAITH.

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves,
being not baptized of him. Luke 7:30

Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; John 12:42

THE ROMANS 10 PARALLEL

The Jews believed that only Jews could be in a right relationship with God. Therefore, in all of the statements of justification by FAITH the purpose is to show that it is FAITH in Jesus as the Son of God as opposed to THE LAW of Moses which they trusted with no intention of changing their lives or repenting. Therefore, a Gentile would be "justified" or "not condemned" or "not ashamed" based on their FAITH. We have noted that the STATEMENT to be believed is that HE that believes and IS baptized shall be saved. That applies to both Jew and Gentile and is not based on the Law of Moses

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Rom 10:11

He that believeth on him is not condemned:
but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3: 18

Is this to prove SALVATION BY FAITH ONLY? No. Just listen to what Paul said as he repeated what Jesus Christ said:

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich
unto all that call upon him. Rom 10:12

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Rom 10:13

Calling on God in Acts 22:16 meant that Paul was baptized. In 1 Peter 3:21

Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 1 Peter 3:21

How then shall they call on him
in whom they have not believed?
and how shall they believe in him
of whom they have not heard?
and how shall they hear
          without a preacher? Rom 10:14

And how shall they preach,
          except they be sent?

as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of
them that preach the gospel of peace,
and bring glad tidings of good things Rom 10:15

Belief of faith INCLUDES obedience: therefore there is NO BELIEVER in the Bible who is not a baptized believer.

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord,
who hath believed our report? Rom 10:16

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Rom 1:17

One is not SAVED simply because the HAVE FAITH. Rather, a good person will LIVE or WALK by faith in all human affairs.

This righteousness by faith began with the creation, continued through the Law period, and into the Christian dispensation. When Paul used the phrase "from first to last" he used a parallel arrangement to show that he meant "first to the Jew and then to the Gentile." It is FALSE to say that righteousness EXCLUDES everything BUT belief:

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because romans 1:17, For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed,
it is the power of God for the salvation romans 1:17, a righteousness that is by faith
of everyone who believes:
...........first for the Jew, t
hen for the Gentile. Rom 1:16
from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." Rom 1:17

The NIV is not a translation but a commentary: it reads:

For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, [c] just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." [d] Rom 1:17

c17 Or 'is from faith to faith'
d17 Habakkuk.2:4

Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. Hab 2:4

Just is Caddiyq (h6662) tsad-deek'; from 6663; just: - just, lawful, righteous (man).

A person is RIGHTEOUS or JUST because they LIVE righteously. However, this does not REMIT his sins. To believe so means that he is SAVED by his OWN personal righteousness.

Cadaq (h6663) tsaw-dak'; a prim. root; to be (causat. make) right (in a moral or forensic sense): - cleanse, clear self, (be, do) just (- ice, -ify, -ify self), (be, turn to) righteous (-ness).

Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people: Hab 2:5

Righteousness WILL NOT save one if they violate the commandments defining righteousness.

Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. Ezek 33:12

In addition to having FAITH and being RIGHTEOUS it is necessary for God in Christ to give us a NEW spirit or A holy spirit. This salvation means that we are NOT lost the moment we lose our faith or sin.

Musical Idolatry of the trinity PROVED that the Israelites were UNrighteous:

Later, in Romans, Paul will say that righteousness was by the Law because God made a right standing with Him depend on animal sacrifices. However, under a gospel or system of faith:

But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Romans 10:6

Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) Romans 10:7

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; Romans 10:8

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Rom 1:18

Jude 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
Jude 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Jude 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Jude 16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having mens persons in admiration because of advantage.

Paul to the Thessalonians also speaks of the deluders:

And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 2 Thess. 2:8

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 2 Thess. 2:9

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 2 Thess. 2:10

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion (tramps, erratic teachers, roving stars), that they should believe a lie: 2 Thess. 2:11

Delusions always come with deluders. These are the wandering stars or "planets" which refuse to keep to their order:

Plane (g4106) plan'-ay; fem. of 4108 (as abstr.); obj. fraudulence; subj. a straying from orthodoxy or piety: - deceit, to deceive, delusion, error.

Planos (g4108) plan'-os; of uncert. affin.; roving (as a tramp), i.e. (by impl.) an impostor or misleader: - deceiver, seducing.

The roving tramps always have the same goal: to get people to reject the Word of truth:

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thess. 2:12

Enoch 2:1 Behold, he comes with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon them, and destroy the wicked, and reprove all the carnal for everything which the sinful and ungodly have done, and committed against him.

Chapter 8

1 Moreover Azazyel (Tubal-Cain etal.) taught men to make swords, knives, shields, breastplates, the fabrication of mirrors, and the workmanship of bracelets and ornaments, the use of paint, the beautifying of the eyebrows, the use of stones of every valuable and select kind, and all sorts of dyes, so that the world became altered.

In the Sons of The Gods:

(r) Genun (Tubal-Cain etal.) the Canaanite, son of Lamech the Blind, living in the Land of the Slime Pits,
was ruled by Azael from his earliest youth,
and invented all sorts of musical instruments.

When he played these, Azael entered into them too,
so that they gave forth seductive tunes entrancing the hearts of all listeners.

Genun would assemble companies of musicians,
who inflamed one another with music until their lust burned bright like fire,
and they lay together promiscuously.

He also brewed beer, gathered great crowds in taverns, gave them to drink,
and taught them to forge iron swords and spear-points, with which to do murder at random when they were drunk.

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. Rom 1:19

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Rom 1:20

Knowing God or believing IN God does not save!

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Rom 1:21

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves,
being not baptized of him. Luke 7:30

Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; John 12:42

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Rom 1:22

And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Rom 1:23

See the story of the Golden Calf: you will find that most people who repudiate baptism which was a TYPE at the Red Sea also fall into the musical idolatry of the pagan trinity.

Of Miriam:

"While she may have been called a prophetess because she was a wife of a prophet it is more likely that she had been a prophetess in Egypt which meant that she was a priestess with intercessory authority. Miriam and a band of trained women went out in a mind-altering song and dance with instruments common to Egypt but not common to Israel. This has been interpreted as not just a "victorious" dance but a well-established cultic activity of a priestess with unquestioned authority - which she even tried out on God.

"We know that all of the Israelites brought Egyptian gods and practices with them and it is not far-fetched to think that Miriam, who had not yet been exposed to the Covenant, was part of the consciousness-altering rhythms and which was part of a priestly myth-play brought to destructive consummation at Mount Sinai as the golden calf was called back into action.

This "rising up to play" involved eating, drinking, nakedness and musical worship. The goddess, Hathor, is the best candidate for the Mother Goddess of the Mount Sinai idolatry. Here priestessess or prophetesses were highly trained with musical instruments, cultic songs and be able to join in the religious dance.

"Music and drugs were co-consiprators in religious ecstasy. They may have used some product of the sycamore fig which both intoxicated and induced an altered state of consciousness. The ergo of barley was well known.

"On the other hand, other sources, specifically relating to the customs of the East, refer to the dance as a slow, grave, and solemn gesture, generally accompanied with singing and the sound of the timbrel!

"The triumphal hymn of Moses had unquestionably a religious character about it; but the employment of music in religious services, though idolatrous, is more distinctly marked in the festivities which attended the erection of the golden calf." (Smith's Bible Dictionary, Music, p. 589).

"In the New Testament there is nowhere any emphasis laid on the musical form of the hymns; and in particular none on instrumental accompaniment whereas this is significantly paganism." (Delling, Gerhard, Worship in the New Testament, trans. Percy Scott Phil. Westminster press, 1962, p. 86).

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Rom 1:24

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Rom 1:25

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: Rom 1:26

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. Rom 1:27

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Rom 1:28

And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands. Acts 7:41

Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness? Acts 7:42

One who believes that Jesus is the Christ of God or the Son of God is JUSTIFIED because FAITH leads to FAITHFULNESS or a righteous life. One who IS righteous DOES righteousness. However, being righteous or having faith gives one the POWER to become a child of God but DOES NOT make one into a child of God.

On the other hand, we have noted that people who refused to accept the Righteousness of Christ by refusing his command to be baptized were condemned and defined as UNBELIEVERS or "Apistos." That means that:

Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Rom 1:29

Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Rom 1:30

Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Rom 1:31

Who, knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Rom 1:32
