When the NACC speaks of UNITY they mean, "Since you are such legalists for obeying the direct command for the synagogue or Church in the wilderness onward" against any vocal or instrumental rejoicing including rhetoric or anything the preacher says beyond obeying the direct command, approves examples and necessary inferences for centuries of church history" WE want to unity by Infiltrating and diverting YOUR property and flock into OUR fold and then we will have unity.
When Rick Atchley speaks of unity he means We took your youth to hear christian bands to teach them to leave our movement. That would be fine if you did not intend to sow massive discord and lie TO God and ABOUT God and 2,000 years of faithful Disciples of Christ who attend the SCHOOL of Christ and do not engage in ceremonial legalism.

The Christian Standard and the NACC has hitched its hopes for UNITY by pushing the use of Instrumental Music (called noise by God) understanding that from the beginning it would sow massive discord but add "body" count to the commercial side of religion. Isaac Errett mocked denominational unity or harmony and said that it had no meaning outside a local assembly. Any Disciples of the Word can prove that all of the "instrument" proof texts turn into lies because there is no need or desire to understand that ALL of the contexts mark instruments as the CAUSE or RESULT of refusing to listen to God when He offered them The Book of The Covenant of Grace and they rejected it by mocking Him with vocal and instrumental rejoicing (outlawed for the Church of Christ -- the Rock -- in the wilderness).

deny the Biblical, historical and the Campbell teaching that Qahal,
synagogue, ekklesia or Church of Christ (the Rock) is A School of Christ

word) was first imposed in the year 373: that split the east from

Paul commanded that we SPEAK that which is written for our learning
(Romans 15). He also commanded that we fill up with SPIRIT (Word
in Col 3:16) and Teach and Admonish with the Biblical material which
includes "teaching psalms." This is in contrast to the drinking songs of
the crooked race of the symposia where the goal was to become "fluted
down with wine."
Both singing in the pagan sense and beating on "instruments of
delusion" was worship IN THE FLESH which Paul rejects in Philippians 3
because it permitted the "conscision or dogs" to destroy the rest Jesus
died to give us from the laded burdens of the arousal songs by Jews or
Gentiles.
In contrast, if you use one mind and one mouth to speak that which is
written for our learning you MUST keep the arousal singing and beating
on instruments quiet and permit melody (or grace) to be IN the heart
where grace means the divine influence of the GRACE which hath appeared
teaching us to DENY the world's religions.

Lynn Anderson Psallo justifies Instrumental Music and sowing of Discord. This is just a small number of false teachings cused at Oak Hills Church (Ex Church of Christ). The plan was for quiet strings in an extra room: this has sowed massive discord and now arrived it its planned destination of a full Rock and Roll performance. The ex-congregation just stands in shock and awe. Rick Atchley promised not to "have instrumental music on Sunday until Jesus returned" but being post modern that meant what he REALLY thought inside.

Their objective is to 'steal' established congregation and become part of the Christian Church movement. Several years ago when the Richland Hills church was going through bankruptcy, debts of over $3,000,000 (not sure of the exact amount), Rick would not have attempted to bring in IM. Nor make the open change to the Christian Church. Now that the church has enjoyed having hugh debts wiped off the books, he brings in IM.
The Purpose Driven Cults insists that you get the new property, change the bylaws and get the finances in order and THEN you pounce and confess that you have been diverting their "gifts to the Lord' to satisfy their own lust.

America's Largest A Cappella Church to Host Second-Annual Ministry Impact Conference
Fort Worth's Richland Hills Church of Christ, the largest a cappella congregation in America, is making good on Minister Rick Atchley's promise to seek unity between churches of Christ and Christian churches by preparing to welcome hundreds of leaders to Ministry Impact '05: GO.
In Fact, Rick Atchley's church has SHRUNK from 6,400 to about 3,600 since the HOSTILE TAKEOVER by the NACC began.
FORT WORTH, Texas (PRWEB) September 4, 2005 -- Following the success of last years Ministry Impact conference at Crossroads Christian Church in Grand Prairie, Texas, Provision Ministry Group has announced that Ministry Impact 05: GO" will be held at the Richland Hills Church of Christ in Fort Worth, October 26-28.

Since 1906 believers from both streams of the Restoration Movement have written papers, preached sermons and hosted debates on the subject of unity between the churches of Christ and Christian churches. After nearly 100 years of talking about unity and praying about unity, Ministry Impact provides ministry leaders with an opportunity simply to be united. This years conference theme, GO," was inspired by Christs Great Commission in the gospel of Matthew.
Rick Atchley, senior minister at the Richland Hills Church of Christ, made his support for unity clear when he spoke at the 2003 North American Christian Convention – an event primarily attended by Christian Church members. There he told nearly 10,000 cheering attendees, I plan to devote the second half of my life to seeing reconciliation among the a cappella and instrumental churches of Christ and Christian churches."
Rick Atchley added a Sabbath Instrumental "service" and promised that instruments would not be added on Sunday until Jesus returns. However, that was then and now is now and he did REALLY mean that.
Now Atchley and the church he serves are making good on his promise by preparing to welcome hundreds of Christians – both from a cappella churches like their own and churches from which they have long been estranged. By doing so, they hope to become more successful at fulfilling the commission that inspired this years conference: Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And ADDING instruments if you want unity.

Ancient literature from Babylonian tablets and beyond agree with Johannes Quasten. In Music and Worship in Pagan and Christian Antiquity, beginning on page 41 He uses many of the church Fathers and Classical resources we also rely upon:
"Philodemus considered it paradoxical that music should be regarded as veneration of the gods while musicians were paid for performing this so-called veneration. Again, Philodemus held as self deceptive the view that music mediated religious ecstasy. He saw the entire condition induced by the noise of cymbals and tambourines as a disturbance of the spirit.
He found it significant that, on the whole, only women and effeminate men fell into this folly.
Accordingly, nothing of value could be attributed to music; it was no more than a slave of the sensation of pleasure, which satisfied much in the same way that food and drink did.
Similar opinions may be found in the writings of Philo. On one occasion he spoke of the Jewish "Feast of Fasting," used by the Greeks for the Day of Atonement:

enkindling unbridled lusts with the help of the sense of hearing. For in and through the same [pleasures] those persons openly seek their joy, for what true joy is their they do not know.
Women's singing was a vital part of all pagan worship. In very early times women became priestly singers of the gods in the temple.
"Women and girls from the different ranks of society were proud to enter the service of the gods as singers and musicians. The understanding of this service was universal: these singers constituted the 'harem of the gods'." (End of Quasten)

Thomas Campbell's proposal for many reforms in
the church included the name THE CHURCH OF CHRIST or THE CHRISTIAN
CHURCH. The Stoneites influenced out of the O'Kelly movement picked
the name of CHRISTIAN (the name of a believer) for the name of the
BODY of Christ. The Reformers or Disciples later called themselves
after a name already in use as The Church of Christ.
The was never A UNITY between these
groups because the churches of Christ
had no denominational organization to unite to the Stoneites which
did. These groups had a radically different view of the Bible, faith
and practice and influenced many groups. UNITY was applauded by those
who didn't even know what the others believed. Maybe it had something
to do with a "budget."
"As a matter of fact only one church in 1870 in Memphis had adopted an organ and there were only six churches in Tennessee at the turn of the century. The leading Southern writer, David Lipscomb, did not see it as important at the time.
Lipscomb wrote as late as 1878 that:
"We do not think anyone has ever claimed authority from Scriptures to use the organ in worship. They only claim it is not condemned. It is used as an assister in worship...Prayer, praise, thanksgiving and making melody in the heart (mind) unto the Lord are acts of worship ordained of God, but no authority do we find for for the organ." (Sounding Brass and Clanging Cymbals, J. E. Choate and William Woodson". (p. 78)
Therefore, is is deceiving to claim to be RE-uniting a SECT which was never in organic or theological unity. The dividing of individual churches of Christ broke the unity when leaders brought mechanical instruments into the assembly to ASSIST the worship. Churches of Christ normally had to desert their own property to escape what Luther called the ensign or MARK OF BAAL and most scholarship rejected as being pagan, paganizing and destroying the ability of the church to function as A School of the Bible.
Ultra liberal Christian churches intend to "unite" but on their own terms. While claiming just the ability to AFFIRM one another or even confess to having DISCORDED the church by refusing to be dominated by instruments, the result in a tiny number of churches of Christ has been to add choirs but under the misnomer of Musical Worship Teams which Rubel Shelly promises can help "lead you into the presence of God." Most conservative Christian churches do not want and will not tolerate new additions who will continue to teach AGAINST instruments. It is something like a WOLF planning to unite with a LAMB.

See that the Stone Campbell Movement is a new SECTARIAN movement turning the facts upside down.
Note that the Christian churches changed with time but still retains the charismatic view which surfaced at Cane Ridge, Kentucky in the form of physical and mental breakdowns which are quite identical to ancient and modern devil worship. This involved a direct involvement of the separate "holy spirit person" who guided one into the still-retained views of John Calvin but clearly Calvinism which did not originate with Calvin.
The churches of Christ have never been "spasmotic" and grasped that SPIRITUAL meant RATIONAL or of the human spirit or mind.
J. F. Burnett proves that Barton W. Stone never ceased to be a member of the Christian church which opposed in may issues the Reformers, Disciples of Christ or churches of Christ whose core beliefs were articulated (but not originated) the views of a large majority of religious people.
The Stone Campbell sectarians attempt to guide both conservative Christian churches and very liberal churches of Christ back to an extremeism which the majority will never accept.
This movement has solicited several unbiblical preachers of churches of Christ (who pay them for what they don't receive). Several of these participants have their own COMMERCIAL TRAFFICKING businesses and some are very CULTISH.
Lynn Anderson of Hope Network is in Max Lucado's area: both are advocates of Promise Keepers which is a cult. They work with conservative churches in the area without the elder's permission to give credibility to their effort to move churches into a form of the Christian Church which the conservative Christian churches have to worry about.

Seeking to reunite or How to SELL OUT your Church? Rick Atchley, Rubel Shelly, Mike Cope and Randy Harris do not represent the so-called a cappella church of Christ. These people do not have the obstacle of having to defend the Epistles of the Apostles who are written off as divided and divisive.
These "unity" movements always seem to be a venue to TRAFFICK schemes, bookings or books. The effect is to SOW DISCORD within churches which WILL NOT accept instrumental music AS worship. Indeed, the "Sectarians" who discorded the early churches tried to scam the judge in Newbern, Tennessee by confessing that IF instruments became part of the "worship" then it would be SINFUL. They were not slick enough to convince the judge that instruments were just to AID the worship. However, worship is GIVING HEED to God in Christ by "giving attendance to the public reading of His Word." There is nothing you can do in a human performance sense which does not obey the "Lucifer principle" to bleed off worship due only to a Holy Spirit God Who WILL NOT accept worship which does not take place in the human spirit devoted to the truth. The new PLACE is the human heart or spirit.
The Christian Chronicle as the official ORGAN of the people trying to subvert people into instrumental "worship" has had to confess that--after the most divisive period in our history--onlu 5 out of more than 1300 congregations have added instruments. Even then, it is in some shady extra-worship service event which they dub THE THIRD SERVICE.
In the true church of Christ on earth there is NO MOVEMENT to divide or UNITE. Jesus Christ died to build an EKKLESIA and that is not a HIGH FINANCED CHURCH PLANT which is a burden laden upon people just like the temple in Jerusalem. The church of Christ or church of God in Christ has always existed. In the 19th century Barton W. Stone attempted to reproduce a METHODIST form of charismatic experience. That included a mind-control form of preaching and singing. The GOAL was to push people into some kind of MANTIC expression known as "prophesying" in the pagan world. At that time he believed that the external effects on the body was proof of the Holy Spirit acting upon the people. He came to acknowledge that this was not true.
Men like Thomas Campbell came out of the reformed Presbyterian movement in Scotland. That movement included open fellowship in the form of allowing OTHER Presbyterian sects to commune WITHOUT having their little token which had the LEADERS certifying the LAITY as suitable to take the yearly communion.
The Campbells DID NOT JOIN the more charismatic CHRISTIAN church but in 1832 when the two ALREADY DIVIDED groups worked together it was IN FACT the "Christian church" ministers agreeing with the Campbells.
However, the church at Caneridge was not called a "christian church." The Campbells used "the church of Christ" because it had been in used from the beginning:
"While these congregations were still lacking in some areas, the progress they made towards restoring the ancient order of things is important. One more item worthy of note is the tombstone of William Rogers at the Cane Ridge meetinghouse near Paris, Kentucky. It simply reads:

At the time William Rogers "united with the church of Christ at Caine Ridge," Alexander Campbell was but a young man in his teens, still living in Ireland. The "church of Christ" was not started by Campbell, nor does it follow his teaching. The church of Christ (Rom. 16:16) was established at Jerusalem on the first Pentecost after the death of Christ -- you can read of it in the second chapter of the book of Acts. While there were some instruments FORCED into churches such as at Midway, Kentucky, it was AFTER the civil war that Standard Publishing attempted to suck everyone into a DENOMINATIONAL structure: even little children could pay up and become LIFE MEMBERS long before Jim Bakker.
James Madison wrote that
"There are two methods of curing the mischiefs of faction: the one, by removing its causes; the other, controlling its effects.
"Again, there are two methods of removing the cause of faction: the one,by destroying the liberty which is essential to its existence;
the other, by giving to every citizen the same opinions, the same passions, and the same interests."It could never be more truly said that of the first remedy that it was worse than the disease. Liberty is to faction what air is to fire, an aliment without which it instantly expires. But it could not be a less folly to abolish liberty, which is essential to political life, because it nourishes faction than it would be to wish the annihilation of air, which is essential to animal life, because it imports to fire its destructive agency.

About the time the EXODUS was outed as the new PARADIGMISM to replace the old PATTERNISM, Rubel shelly and John York DITTOED it as THEIR new patternism for church organization and worship.
The problem is that
Moses received from God The Book of the Covenant of Grace.
ALL of the people had a FOUNDING meeting and agreed to the Covenant of Grace being restored and followed.
However, God put them through the 40 DAY PLAN to test the people. If we think of this as 40 years that about fits the pseudo-uniting of the ANGLICANS with the Campbell PRESBYTERIAN background in 1832. If you add 40 years that reaches to 1872."As a matter of fact only one church in 1870 in Memphis had adopted an organ and there were only six churches in Tennessee at the turn of the century. The leading Southern writer, David Lipscomb, did not see it as important at the time.
Lipscomb wrote as late as 1878 that:
"We do not think anyone has ever claimed authority from Scriptures to use the organ in worship. They only claim it is not condemned. It is used as an assister in worship...Prayer, praise, thanksgiving and making melody in the heart (mind) unto the Lord are acts of worship ordained of God, but no authority do we find for for the organ." (Sounding Brass and Clanging Cymbals, J. E. Choate and William Woodson". (p. 78)
Aaron acted the role of pagan priests and made the people a golden calf. This speaks of rejecting the Word and turning to the musical worship of the Egyptian Triad.
God turned them over to worship the "starry hosts" because this was their PRAYER.
The priestly class was continued to violate the Law of Moses which included adding instrumental music (long after David) for the RITUALISTIC dedication and purification of TEMPLES and NATIONS and the like-the-nation's rituals. Only at key times did the PROPHETS attempt to silence the music.Therefore, the INVISIBLE message that the "musical" churches are purveying is that those who are WORD focused should JOIN them at the foot of Mount Sinai.
THE NAME OF THE CHURCH
It will NEVER happen--because it is part of prophecy--that a "musical" church will ever remove their instruments (weapons) and their musicians (warrior Levites)
Therefore, the meaning of UNITY is that non-musical (non idolatrous) churches MUST join or affirm the correctness of the SECTARIANISM introduced by the post-war musicial group used to collect the surplus, ill-gotten gain from profiteering and carpetbagging during and following the civil war.
This makes trying to "get in bed" with someone who will tolerate you a very strong incentive for men who have no credibility in churches of Christ (never musical in 2,000 years) to get on the PROGRAM to sell books.
However, it should not be comfortable to know that you are one who will lend your self-promoted name to people who OPPOSE those who purchased them a mega church just to give away.
The false teaching of the Christian church is that the "a cappella" churches of Christ digressed from the Christian Church and therefore broke the unity. Nothing could be further from the truth. The "Christian" church idea came out of the Anglican background of the Methodists. While they subscribed to the High Church right to change Scripture with the times, it is a fact that this AUTHORITY was never voted on by those who proposed it. Alfred T. DeGroot identifies those who follow the HIGH CHURCH patternism as the Christian Church as THE CHURCH. Those who do not he calls A SECT.

AD 250: Of the Apostolic Constitutions: The first six books are an adaptation of the Didascalia Apostolorum, written in Syria about AD 250. Long before there was an organization named "The Catholic Church" the church was recognized to be part of the universal whole wherever it existed.

1780: "The Church of Christ meeting in Morrisons Court, between 1772 and 1782. They had 180 members in 1818. This group also worshipped each Lord's day. As to the order of services, they followed the pattern of Acts two where "they continued in the Apostle's doctrine, and fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers" (Acts 2:42). Realizing the importance of doctrinal purity, they explained "it is necessary to guard both against too much and too little forbearance; and especially in respect to the external order of the society."
In 1818 a church in New York sent a letter to "the churches of Christ, scattered over the earth," asking them for a statement of their views and practices. These letters were later printed in The Christian Baptist, a paper edited by Alexander Campbell (1788-1866).
AD-1788 Alexander Campbell is born in Scotland. Came to America in 1809, to join his father who had came here in 1807. The church of Christ had already been in existence several hundred years before his birth.
Thomas Campbell published His Declaration and Address in 1809. Because the Bible speaks of "the church of God" but identifies it as IN CHRIST, he identified the ideal church as the church of Christ. Of course, the church had been known as the church of Christ for hundreds of years:
Dearly beloved brethren, why should we deem it a thing incredible that the Church of Christ, in this highly favored country, should resume that original unity, peace, and purity which belongs to its constitution, and constitutes its glory? Or, is there anything that can be justly deemed necessary for this desirable purpose, both to conform to the model and adopt the practice of the primitive Church, expressly exhibited in the New Testament?

He also thought much of some things in the writings of John Walker, from whose "Address to the Methodists in Ireland" he extracts the following passages as worthy of special attention:
"4. It is no part of the work of grace to mend the corrupt nature. That nature is as bad, as wholly evil, in a believer as in an unbeliever; as bad in the most established believer as in the wickedest; as bad in Paul the apostle, just finishing his course and ready to receive the crown of righteousness, as in Saul of Tarsus, a blasphemer and a persecutor of the Church of Christ
The Campbells [as opposed to those with an Anglican background] would have known from John Calvin that the church is THE CHURCH OF CHRIST. Those pseudo-"a cappella" representatives have not been elected and they tend to take the name of CHRIST off their identifier.

"WINDHAM May 27th, 1828, was constituted the Church of Christ in Windham, upon the declared and manifest faith and obedience of the ancient apostolic gospel, as delivered by the Apostle Peter to the Jews on the day of Pentecost, Acts ii. and afterwards by the same Apostle to the Gentiles, assembled in the house of Cornelius, Acts x. and by the Apostle Paul, to both Jews and Gentiles in Antioch in Pisidia, xiii. and as declared by all the Apostles in the apostolic writings: which writings, taken in their due connexion with the Old Testament, and the preceding books of the New,
this church assumes as the only, and all-sufficient rule of faith and obedience; withal, assuming the New Testament as being as perfect a rule, directory, and formula for the faith, worship, discipline, and government of the New Testament church, and the particular duties of its members; as the Old Testament was, for the faith, worship, discipline, and government of the Old Testament church, and the particular duties of its members, Compare Mal. iv. 4. with Math. xxviii. 18-20. It is farther declared that this church, fully recognizing the constitutional unity of the body of Christ, and determined by the grace of God, in obedience to the apostolic doctrine, to maintain and promote this unity, both within itself, and with all the declared and obedient disciples of the Lord Jesus, extends its fellowship to all such as have obeyed the gospel according to the above scriptures, by immersion into the one faith once delivered to the saints, as the same is expressly declared in the portions above cited; and who continue to justify their profession of said faith by a life of practical holiness, (according to the law of Christ.) Under the profession of the faith and obedience specified and provided for, in the above declaration, the undernamed disciples, in obedience to the Great Head of the church, and for the performance of the duties which, under him, they owe to each other, and to all men, have unanimously agreed to form themselves into a church to be designated as above. Done in presence of Bishops Thomas Campbell and Marcus Bosworth, invited to preside and assist for said purpose. After the enrolment of the members, Reuben Ferguson, lately an exhorter and preacher of the Methodist order, was duly and unanimously chosen a Bishop of said church; and ordained by the imposition of the hands of the said bishops and others, elderly members of said church, or assisting with it, by request, upon the occasion."

When the predicted fracture of restructure in the Christian churches led to the Disciples liberalism, the Christian churches sorta confiscated "churches of Christ--instrumental" creating more confusion.
THE INFILTRATED ENDORSEMENT MESSAGE
The BIG SCAM is that ALL of the participants REPRESENTING what they call the A Cappella church of Christ have declared that they are more related to the "Christian church" than to the Churches of Christ which by Scripture and history have not ADDED instrumental music AS worship. Here are the primary participants:
