Jonathan Storment Lipscomb Celebration 2016
Jonathan Storment, The Heart of a Leader: Claiming that David was the PROTOTYPE of Jesus. If that is not true then all of the claims about instrumental music as worship are proof of an EVIL SPIRIT FROM THE LORD: Paul calls it strong delusions meaning any religious self-exhibition claiming that it represents God.
Jonathan Storment, The Heart of a Leader1 Sam. 16:1-3; 1Sam. 15:11 It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.
1 Samuel where the elders fired God and demanded a "senior preaching person" becomes a prophetic type where David's harp drove the Musically mocking Jews to make Jesus "dumb before the slaughter" so they could "cast a javelin at him to smite him"
Samuel defines God ABANDONING the Jews to Babylonianism because He had sentenced them to captivity because of instrumental-trinitarian-perverted PLAY including playing musical instruments and playing with one another. Paul in Romans 1 defines the end of the road and the MARK of those who twist all known Scripture and force the BEAST into the "worship observations" to which Jesus said the Kingdom does not come.
Chapter 15 comes before Chapter 16 and denounces self-appointed leaders who would disobey the direct commands and all examples NOT to turn the Assembly of God or Church into rhetorical and musical performances.
1Sam. 15:7 And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt.
1Sam. 15:8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive,
and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
1Sam. 15:9 But Saul and the people spared Agag,
and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs,
and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them:
but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
1Sam. 15:10 hen came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying,
1Sam. 15:11 It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king:
for he is turned back from following me,
and hath not performed my commandments.
And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.
1 Sam 15:19 Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the Lord,
but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the Lord?1 Sam 15:20 And Saul said unto Samuel,
Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord,
and have gone the way which the Lord sent me,
and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.1 Sam 15:21 But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen,
the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed,
to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in Gilgal.1 Sam 15:22 And Samuel said,
Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
as in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
God did not command animal sacrifices or burnt offerings when He save Israel by Grace from Egypt.
1 Sam 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord,
he hath also rejected thee from being king.
The Word as Dabar or Logos is defined as God's Presence: it is defined as the Regulative Principle, opposite to personal opinions, personal experiences, rhetoric, singing, playing instruments or acting: these are IDOLATRY because they are IN YOUR FACE and you MUST give all of your attention to them;

Jonathan Storment who has IMPOSED instrumental idolatry must have been strongly deluded not to grasp BLACK text on BROWN paper.
1 Sam 16:1 AND the Lord said unto Samuel,
How long wilt thou mourn for Saul,
seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel?
fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Beth-lehem:
for I have provided me a king among his sons.
In Amos 8 and Revelation 18 the SOUNDS of rhetoric, singing and instruments are defined as SORCERY so that God has been there and will not pass by there again.
1 Sam 16:2 And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me.
And the Lord said, Take an heifer with thee,
and say, I am come to sacrifice to the Lord.1 Sam 16:3 And call Jesse to the sacrifice,
and I will shew thee what thou shalt do:
and thou shalt anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee.
David after God's own heart means that "I WILL NAME HIM" ot pick him. This is not Holy Scripture in the sense that the Prophets by the Spirit OF Christ is. God had not comanded a King, Kingdom, Temple, Animal Slaughter or burnt offerings -- holocausts. God had abandoned the nation when the ELDERS demanded "set a senior pastor over us."
This terminates the delayed sentence to captivity and death imposed because of Instrumental-Trinitarian-Perverted idolatry at Mount Sinai. Therefore, you should not weep for those who use their OWN IMAGINATION.
When you tamper with The Word (Dabar-Logos or Regulative Principle) God sends you strong delusions so that you are never at LIBERTY to walk in your own ways.
1 Sam 16:14 But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul,
and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him.Hence, when the Bible says that the "distressing spirit" that troubled Saul was "from the Lord," the writer was using an idiom to indicate that the Lord allowed or permitted the distressing spirit to come upon Saul. George Williams commented: "What God permits He is stated in the Bible to perform" (1960, p. 127).
A third consideration regarding the "evil spirit" that came upon Saul is the fact that the term "spirit" (ruach) has a wide range of meanings: air (i.e., breath or wind); the vital principle of life or animating force; the rational mind where thinking and decision-making occurs; the Holy Spirit of God (Gesenius, 1847, pp. 760-761), and even disposition of mind or attitude (Harris, et al., 1980, 2:836)1 Sam 16:15 And Sauls servants said unto him,
Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.
Sam. 18:10 And it came to pass on the morrow,
that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul,
and he prophesied in the midst of the house:
and David played with his hand, as at other times:
and there was a javelin in Sauls hand.God has turned the Jews over to worship the starry host and the Levites continued to prophesy with instruments continuing the Egyptian idolatry of Egypt.
This was in the MIDDLE of the house and not near or inside the temple which would have gotten Saul executed.

David would never on the penalty of death perform sorcery in or near a holy place. The musical noise induced or was a mark of God abandoning Saul. Instrumentalists like Jonathan Storment want David's harp playing to justify HIS imposing David's harp. To his credit, David did not play the harp with a Plectrum or guitar pick: that would be outlawed by the Psallo word.

1 Sam 16:18 Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold,
I have seen a son of Jesse the Beth-lehem,
that is cunning in playing,
and a mighty valiant man,
and a man of war,
and prudent in matters,
and a comely person, and the Lord is with him.
David and his harp would driven David further into strong delusions so that he became the LAUGHINGSTOCK of the godly people
Jesus came from the seed of David AFTER THE FLESH. However, He became the Son of God IN THE SPIRIT. Ephesians 4 demands that APT elders eject the cunning craftsmen:

Religious prophesying is singing, playing instruments and singing nonsense songs:
1Sa 18:10 KJV And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul's hand. 1Sa 18:11 KJV And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with it. And David avoided out of his presence twice. 1Sa 18:12 KJV And Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, and was departed from Saul "He prophesied in the midst of the house. He was beside himself; made prayers, supplications, and incoherent imprecations: 'God preserve my life,' 'Destroy my enemies,' or such like prayers, might frequently escape from him in his agitated state. The Arabic intimates that he was actually possessed by an evil spirit, and that through it he uttered a sort of demoniacal predictions." (Clark, 1 Sam 18, p. 270). "In ancient times, says Justin, kings used a spear instead of a diadem: And as spears were the emblems of supreme power, hence they were reputed as attributes of the Divinity, and were worshipped as representatives of the gods." (Adam Clark, 1 Sam. 18, p. 270)
We find demon-possessed Saul 'acting like a prophet' by becoming semi-conscious and immobile when attempting to apprehend David at Ramah..The context of this passage makes it clear that Saul's behavior was not the ordinary behavior of the true prophets of God." (Christianity Today, March 12, "'Played the prophet,' viz., by gestures and demeanor."--Driver. "Rather, he raved."--Keil. "The word 'prophesy' describes an ecstatic condition due to supernatural influence, good or evil; the result in the one case being prophetic inspiration or religious enthusiasm, in the other raving madness."--Cambridge Bible. 1971, p. 541) Heredotus writes: Now the Scythians are wont to reproach the Greeks with their Bacchanal rage, and to say that it is not reasonable to imagine there is a god who impels men to madness. No sooner, therefore, was Scylas initiated in the Bacchic mysteries than one of the Borysthenites went and carried the news to the Scythians " You Scyths laugh at us" he said, "because we rave when the god seizes us. But now our god has seized upon your king, who raves like us, and is maddened by the influence. If you think I do not tell you true, come with me, and I will show him to you." The chiefs of the Scythians went with the man accordingly, and the Borysthenite, conducting them into the city, placed them secretly on one of the towers. Presently Scylas passed by with the band of revellers, raving like the rest, and was seen by the watchers. Regarding the matter as a very great misfortune they instantly departed, and came and told the army what they had witnessed.
