Danny Corbitt: Missing More than Music

Jude references the Mount Sinai Instrumental-Trinitarian-Perverted "play" and warns that it would happen again because these men were FOREORDAINED to this Judgment. The BEAST or Theiron is "a new style of music and Satyric (perverted) Drama.

First recorded on Clay Tablets is that most war and destruction has been the result of Gods and Worship ritual.  Theology rather than true knowledge has not once--if my research is true--has anyone noticed that:

The Evil Psallo  I. In gen., to play upon a stringed instrument; esp., to play upon the cithara, to sing to the cithara: “psallere saltare elegantius,Sall. C. 25, 2  canituri,”  SING and cantare marked as SORCERY.    saltare et cantare; Cic. Catil. 2.10.23   Suet. Tit. 3

Saltatio   Dancing was originally closely connected with religion. Plato thought all dancing should be based on religion, as it was, he says, among the Egyptians. It has been shown under Chorus that the chorus in the oldest times consisted of the whole population of a city, who met in a public place to offer up thanksgivings to the god of their country by singing hymns and performing dances. These dances, which, like all others, were accompanied by music,

Girardian Reflections on the Lectionary:
5.4.2
Behind the anthropological predilections against the victim's perspective, there is a very practical, quasi-historical reason: namely, the victim is shunned and often killed. In the ancient world, the role of music during ritual sacrifice was often to drown out any cries from the victim. (45) It is crucial that the victim not be heard. The practical mechanics of making victims means that it is unusual for the victim's perspective to survive. In the world of ancient ritual it was probably impossible.

45. The Greek verb myo means to close the mouth or shut the eyes. There is debate about whether myo plays a crucial role in the etymology of other significant words such as myth, mystery, and even music. These etymologies make sense within the Girardian hypotheses.
Myth means to close ourselves to the victim
          and tell the tale according to the perpetrator's perspective;
          mystery cults are based on the silence of the victims;
music derives from drowning out  the voice of the victim

5.5 In general, then, the survival of the victim's perspective is highly unusual as a historical phenomenon -- until more recent history, that is, when the victim's perspective has finally established a beachhead in Western culture, namely, the cultures most often in closest contact with the Gospel (more on this below). (And it must be emphasized that the close contact is in the category of being an accident of history and not by any meritorious claims for Western culture. In short, the perspective of the victim has established a place in Western culture not because of any inherent merit in Western culture but because of the historical accident of being in close proximity to the Gospel over a long period of time.)

These boys, so witty and delicate,
have learnt not only to love and to be loved,
not only to sing and to dance,
            but also to brandish daggers and to administer poisons;
and unless they are driven out,
unless they die, even should Catiline die,
I warn you that the school of Catiline would exist in the republic.
But what do those wretches want? Are they going to take their wives with them to the camp? how can they do without them, especially in these nights? and how will they endure the Apennines, and these frosts, and this snow?
unless they think that they will bear the winter more easily
because they have been in the habit of dancing naked at their feasts. O
O war much to be dreaded, when Catiline is going to have his bodyguard of prostitutes!

This takes hold upon a gentle and pure soul, arouses it and inspires it to songs and other poetry, and thus by adorning countless deeds of the ancients educates later generations. But he who without the divine madness comes to the doors of the Muses, confident that he will be a good poet by art, meets with no success, and the poetry of the sane man vanishes into nothingness before that of the inspired madmen.

Theophilus to Autolycus

This Eve, on account of her having been in the beginning deceived by the serpent, and become the author of sin, the wicked demon, who also is called Satan, who then spoke to her through the serpent, and who works even to this day in those men that are possessed by him, invokes as Eve.58 And he is called "demon" and "dragon," on account of his revolting from God. For at first he was an angel. And concerning his history there is a great deal to be said; wherefore I at present omit the relation of it, for I have also given an account of him in another place.

Note 58 Referring to the bacchanalian orgies [WRATH] in which " Eva " was shouted, and which the Fathers professed to believe was an unintentional invocation of Eve, the authoress of all sin.

The word "abomination" is also key to understanding the context. In Hebrew, the word "to 'evah," (abomination) is almost invariably linked to idolatry. In the passages from which both verses are taken, God tells Moses to tell the people not to follow the idolatrous practices of the people around them, people who sacrificed their children to Molech, or who masturbated into the fire to offer their semen to Molech, for example. Chapter 20 starts off with the same warning.

"To 'evah" also means "something which is ritually unclean."

This is a beginning detailed review of Danny Corbitt's book.  The problem with being willing to sow discord in peaceable churches is proof that the proof-texters have never read the Bible other than to collect a list of passages where instruments are mentioned.  It matters not that God had abandoned Israel to the worship of the starry host BECAUSE of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.
When Disputable Matters. Eclipse Worship and Unity.
In Romans 144 Paul outlawed "doubtful disputations" which did not edify or EDUCATE.  In Romans 15 he outlawed self pleasure which defines self-speak, singing, playing, drama or anything which DIVERTED the assembly which had the sole purpose of "using one mind and one mouth to speak that which is written for our learning,.

The purpose driving A Church of Christ is to commmand and observe what Jesus commanded to be taught: Peter makes that the Prophets by Christ and the prophecies made more certain or verified by Jesus Christ. He outlawed private interpretation of further expounding. Paul outlawed Corrupting the Word which means selling learning at retail.

Therefore, as defined by Christ the Rock in the wilderness the Qahal, synagogue, ekklesia or Church is:

INCLUSIVE of Rest, Reading and Rehearsing the Word handed down by Moses to small groups
EXCLUSIVE of vocal or instrumental rejoicing or self-speaking.

That never changed except that Christ REMOVED the laded burden (arousal music) and the Burden Laders.

There are no disputable matters if you obey the command from the wilderness onward to PREACH the Word by READING the Word (only) for comfort and doctrine.  Disciple do not go to Worship Services because Jesus said that the Kingdom does not come with observation meaning Religious Services.

Unity in the false sense of the enemies of the Church NEVER happened between the Christian Churches and the Churches of Christ. After the ORGANIZATIONAL or Society and Organ party proved that fraternal meetings were no longer possible because then and NOW when Corbitt etal speaks of UNITY they mean to "Infiltrate and divert your church to the society and organ party."  All of the debates and writings leading up to the 1906 census were hostile attacks because they said that PSALLO commanded the use of instruments and the LEGALISTS were disobeying the law and could be taken over without sinning.

Revised 8.21.13 People who think of a musical instrument for worship in a church simply do not know the meaning of the Church or Worship. The Church of Christ (the Rock) was defined in the wilderness AFTER Israel fell into musical idolatry for which there was no redemption.  Anyone reading Acts 7 might ask why Stephen says that Jews and preachers who say that God commanded anything in the abandoned monarchy would look where Stephen pointed.

Click for new notes on Ephesians 5  Speaking is for Learning: that's what Disciples of Christ do: Christians do not do "worship services" as defined. Speaking is the opposite of Odeing: Odeing is the opposite of Speaking. Those who are FORCED to read Paul saying: Sing that which is NOT written for our LEARNING are FATHERED by an unholy spirit to Silence the Mouth of the Victim: Religious music has historically been called SACRED VIOLENCE and those who performed it were called PARASITES.  A heretic (sectarian) was the PRIEST to lifted up the lambs to cut their throats while the "lambs were made silent before the slaughtger." The Jews musically mocked Jesus.

The Greek word PSALLO and other PSAO-like words were used by those who translated the Hebrew or other texts into GREEK.  The word PSALLO translates ZAMAR type word which means to Prune YOUR vines or take your inheritance.   The Greek Psallo was first used to justify the use of Instrments (machines for doing hard work) until the year 1878.  After that, O.E.Payne collected references to much of the ancient literature and each time "play" or "pluck" appered he contended that it commanded that EVERYONE play an instrument.  Unfortunately all of the plucking of a string ONLY with the fingers occurred it pointed primarily to Apollo (Abaddon, Apollyon) making his bow string twang to send forth a singing arrow into a literal heart.  Apollyon also carried his lyre and when he plucked the strings he was planning to seduce a younger male by "shooting forth love arrows."

No one can read BLACK text on BROWN paper when reading ANY musical content in the assembly commanded to "use one mind and one mouth to speak that which is written for our learning." Jesus commanded that we teach what HE commandled ot be taught.  Disciples are STUDENTS and students don't do musical "worship services." The role of the School of Christ (the Campbell's restoration) is defined in many New Testament passages.

Does Psallo Authorize Instrumental Music: expansion of the historic use of the psallo word.

The Stark Warlick Debate was a result of the Christian Church which had a school at the time working really hard to "transistion" peaceable Churches of Christ into Instrumental Christian churches: that and the Sand Creek attempt at a hostile takeover confirmed that Churches of Christ could not have fraternal fellowship with those who had an agenda of 'unity through elimination." Unity means that those who had never used "machines for doing hard work" in recorded history MUST yield or be labeled "antichrists."

O.E. Payne Father of Instrumental Music Authority  refusing to comply "is a distinct reproof for that narrowness which mistakes itself for loyalty."

The Boswell-Hardeman Debate
Total Book html

This led to the separation of the Christian Churches (NACC) from the Disciples of Christ: all of the books and debates prove that the Church of Christ was never "united" with the Disciples.  Fraternal relationships could exist among most groups before instruments were added in the Methodists, Presbyterian and Baptist churches after the Civil War.

Up Front we can dogmatically assert that Psallo at no time in recorded history DID or could be translates as to "sing to the accompaniment of a harp." Nevertheless,

FINAL WARNING FOR DISCIPLES WHO WILL--BY DEFINITION--ATTEND SCHOOL OF THE WORD AND NOT OBSCENE THEATRICS

The Romans, at their own request, obtain from them
skilled performers-the proper seasons-the name too, for it is said they are called Ludi, from Lydi. And though Varro derives the name of Ludi from Ludus, that is, from play, as they called the Luperci also Ludii, because they ran about making sport; still that sporting of young men belongs, (playful or ludicrous) in his view, to festal days and temples, and objects of religious veneration.

Matthew 27:29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand:

Shall I move my white foot in the night-long dance, aroused to a frenzy, [865] throwing my head to the dewy air, like a fawn sporting in the green pleasures of the meadow, when it has escaped a fearful chase beyond the watchers [870] over the well-woven nets, and the hunter hastens his dogs [Catamites] on their course with his call, while she, with great exertion and a storm-swift running, rushes along the plain by the river, rejoicing [875] in the solitude apart from men and in the thickets of the shady-foliaged woods. 2. If, in fact, ALL of they hypocritic or performing arts and crafts are explicitly excluded.
  3. Then the DISCORDERS are guilty of despising the Word of God
  4. And that is defined by the Spirit of Christ as blasphemy for despising the record left by the Holy Spirit OF Christ in the prophets.
  1. Danny Corbitt claims an unbiased, objective, FINAL without contradiction indictment of the ANTI-instrumental churches of Christ.
  2. Danny Corbitt in fact had taken pay and was disloyal to those he pretended to teach.
  3. Therefore, Danny is a hypocrite as are all of those who have "seen the light" and done what they used deception and plotted to do.
Rick Atchley and Chris Seidman Instrumental Music Delusion
Well, we discipled the children of those progressive churches
for a whole generation to grow past us Boomers.
They never heard the sermons we heard.
They never heard the rationale for a cappella music.

We sent them to youth rallies and Church of Christ events
with some of the finest Christian bands in the world.
We discipled our children to leave our Movement!
CONTRARY TO THOSE USING THE PATTERN OF THE SOOTHSAYING LEVITES

The Spirit OF Christ wrote for the spiritual people ONLY through the Prophets and Apostles.  These prophets identify the curse of the Civil-Military-Clergy complex as robbers and parasites.  In face, the title of all sacrificial noise makers is PARASITES. They eat while carrying out the superstitious belief that they can please the gods by housing, feeding, clothing, entertaining or even pretending to have sex. That is why male and female prostitutes flocked around the Jewish temples and all religious complexes.  Musical performers were identified as dogs or concision whom Paul excluded from "worship in the spirit" or mind.

1.  The Christian Discipline or School of the Word (only) of God (only) is EDUCATED only by the Prophets and Apostles revealed by the Spirit OF Christ and made more certain by Jesus of Nazareth Who as prophesied and fulfilled was MUSICALLY MOCKED up to the foot of the old rugged cross.
Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
        Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Ephesians 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men,
as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit
2. All of the MUSICAL discorders build upon the Levites and David.
Therefore, imposing MUSICAL DISCORD is not a Christian Assembly as defined by Jesus:
Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them,
saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name [singular] of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
3. Psalm 22 and 41 prophesied that Judas would attempt to TRIUMPH OVER Jesus

This is the "alarm" word which FORBIDS making vocal or instrumental rejoicing including rhetoric in the Qahal, ekklesia, synagogue or Church of Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness.  This was left as a MARK to identifying the STRIKING of Judas whose betrayal.  The SOP has the same root meaning as PSALLO. Therefore, Psallo was the ONLY mark when the Disciples decided to split their effort. Churches of Christ were never "joined."

The Judas Bag was for carrying the mouthpieces of wind instruments: he was a thief and the Judas bag was always attached to the flute case of the wineskins musicians

Danny Corbitt and all who confuse church with a Worship Center where the service (hard bondage) is performed by a priestly class do NOT understand that the godly people never participated in a "worship service" as defined by the sowers of discord.  It was after Israel rose up in musical idolatry at Mount Sinai that God turned them over to worship the starry host: those they had worshipped in Egypt and named by Amos and Acts 7. The Jacob-cursed and God-abandoned Levites executed 3000 of the "brethren" who had fallen into musical idolatry.  They were later under the not-commanded kings and commanders of the army: they were SOOTHSAYERS with instruments (all for war or used by the loose women before David.". The were to STAND IN RANKS and execute any godly person who came inside the gates or near any holy thing or place.

That is why there is no command, example or remote inference of godly people ever assemblying for congregational singing with or without instruments: none of the Bible is metrical so just give it up.

The Qahal, synagogue, Ekklesia or Church of Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness is defined by the Spirit OF Christ:

It was INCLUSIVE of Rest (from religion), Reading and Rehearsing the Word: that is something like SPEAKING "that which is written for our learning" and meditating in the heart. Psallo never meant musical melody.

It was EXCLUSIVE of vocal or instrumental rejoicing or rhetoric: Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites. In the Ezekiel 33 example Christ names speakers for pay, singers, instrument players and the audience. The musical performance was the MARK of those who had no intention of obeying the Word.

Review: Danny Corbitt Denying Justin Martyr

8.09.12
First, since psallo never at any time or place in recorded history MEANT more than pluck or smite a string with your FINGERS and never with a PLECTRUM they would know that pluck had and has absolutely no "musical" content.  That is why there is no recorded Bible or literary example of being able to instruct someone to pluck a string with one word. If you tell someone PLUCK there is no telling what would happen to you.  The same is true in English and all languages.

Second, if you want to tell someone to PLUCK an INSTRUMENT there are compound words for all named instruments and STYLES of plucking.
Third, do you blaspheme the Spirit OF Christ by saying that:
  1. He was too ignorant not to use TWO words such as PSALLO Plus A Harp.
  2. He was too ignorant not to use one compound word which meant play a harp
  3. He just wanted to throw in stumble words for those who have not been washed with water INTO the Word or school of Christ or
  4. He intentionally wanted to sow massive discord since singing as an ACT was first imposed in the hear 373.
HERE IS WHAT DANNY CORBITT AND ALL OF THE SOWERS OF DISCORD WANT

ONE OF THE PSALLO WORDS AND HOW IT WAS USED: THESE ARE NOT "DEFINITIONS"

Psallo , i, 3, v. n., = psallō. I. In gen., to [1] play upon a [2] stringed instrument; esp., to [1]  play upon the [2]  cithara, to sing TO the cithara:psallere saltare elegantius,

Arnobius lumped instrumental music and smooth oratory as mind manipulation together:

"They speak in the most elegant language, and that their words flow in polished periods; that they reason in syllogisms with utmost acuteness; .. that they say many things about the different kinds of numbers, many things about music; that by their maxims and precepts they settle the problems of geometry also." However, he continues--

"A comparison of persons must be decided, not by vigour of eloquence, but by the excellence of the works which they have done. He must not be called a good teacher who has expressed himself clearly, but he who accompanies his promises with the guarantee of divine works." (Arnobius Against the Heathen, Ante-Nicene, VI, p. 438).

"If men either knew themselves thoroughly, or had the slightest knowledge of God, they would never claim as their own a divine and immortal nature; nor would they think themselves something great because they have made for themselves... knives, swords" and etc.

"carried away by pride and arrogance, would they believe themselves to be deities of the first rank, and fellows of the highest in his exaltation, because they had devised the arts of grammar, music, oratory, and geometry. For we do not see what is so wonderful in these arts, that because of their discovery the soul should be believed to be above the sun as well as all the stars, to surpass both in grandeur and essence the whole universe, of which these are parts. "

"For what else do these assert that they can either declare or teach, than that we may learn to know the rules and differences of nouns, the intervals in the sounds of different tones, that we may speak persualsively in lawsuits, that we may measure the confines of the earth? Now if the soul had brought these arts with it from the celestial regions, and it were impossible not to know them, all men would long before this be busied with them all over the earth... But see now how few musicians, logicians, and geometricians are there in the world! How few orators, poets, critics!..." (Arnibious, Ante-Nicene, VI, p. 441)

          Myth means to close ourselves to the victim and tell the tale according to the perpetrator's perspective;
mystery cults are based on the silence of the victims; music derives from drowning out
          the voice of the victim

5.5 In general, then, the survival of the victim's perspective is highly unusual as a historical phenomenon -- until more recent history, that is, when the victim's perspective has finally established a beachhead in Western culture, namely, the cultures most often in closest contact with the Gospel (more on this below). (And it must be emphasized that the close contact is in the category of being an accident of history and not by any meritorious claims for Western culture. In short, the perspective of the victim has established a place in Western culture not because of any inherent merit in Western culture but because of the historical accident of being in close proximity to the Gospel over a long period of time.)

✓ in the next use Sall. C. 25, 2 (but in Cic. Cat. 2, 10, 23 the correct read. is saltare et cantare;
Sal. Cat. 25 In the number of those ladies was Sempronia, a woman who had committed many crimes with the spirit of a man. In birth and beauty, in her husband and her children, she was extremely fortunate; she was skilled in Greek and Roman literature; she could sing, play, and dance, with greater elegance than became a woman of virtue, and possessed many other accomplishments that tend to excite the passions... Her desires were so ardent that she oftener made advances to the other sex than waited for solicitation.
Cic. Catil. 2.10.23 In these bands are all the gamblers, all the adulterers, all the unclean and shameless citizens. These boys, so witty and delicate, have learnt not only to love and to be loved, not only to sing and to dance, but also to brandish daggers and to administer poisons; and unless they are driven out, unless they die, even should Catiline die, I warn you that the school [sēmĭnārĭus] of Catiline would exist in the republic. But what do those wretches want? Are they going to take their wives with them to the camp? how can they do without them, especially in these nights? and how will they endure the Apennines, and these frosts, and this snow? unless they think that they will bear the winter more easily because they have been in the habit of dancing naked at their feasts. O war much to be dreaded, when Catiline is going to have his bodyguard of prostitutes!

Even if "psallo" meant play a harp it could NEVER be used to justify a guitar pick, a flute or drums.

Playing the part of those deliberately sowing discord and blaspheming, let's assume that the Spirit of Christ or Paul or anyone prior to 1878 was too illiterate to know about all of the compound words.  For instance.

Perhaps the Holy Spirit was not educated enough NOT to use psallo which is never translated to mean musical melody and was not aware that He could have used MELOS which means musical melody or a series of single notes.
HH 19 To Pan:1 Muse, tell me about Pan, the dear son of Hermes, with his goat's feet and two horns —a lover of merry noise. Through wooded glades he wanders with dancing nymphs who foot it on some sheer cliff's edge, [5] calling upon Pan, the shepherd-god, long-haired, unkempt.... Often he courses through the glistening high mountains, and often on the shouldered hills he speeds along slaying wild beasts, this keen-eyed god. Only at evening, [15] as he returns from the chase,
        he sounds his note,
playing sweet and low on his pipes of reed:
not even she could excel him in melody
that bird who in flower-laden spring pouring forth her lament utters honey-voiced song amid the leaves....
Then all the immortals were glad in heart and Bacchic Dionysus in especial; and they called the boy Pan because he delighted all their hearts.

There is no person, living or brain dead, who promotes the performing or hypocritic arts while getting paid claiming that they are ministers of the word, who isn't deeply into the end-time prophecy of a great outburst of demonism or witchcraft for which the Bible alwas prescribes beiing cast alive into the Lake of fire. They may be already consuming themselves with the breath (spirit) of their mouths.  As a quick review, God turned the Israelites over to worship the starry host BECAUSE of the musical idolatry of the Egyptian trinity under the symbol of the golden CalveS.

Revised 4.22.11
PSALM 150 IS THE "AUTHORITY" FOR HAVING GRACE COVER "DISCORD" BUT ALSO THE MARK OF WHAT JESUS AND PETER CALLED A CROOKED RACE OR JOHN CALLED A RACE OF VIPERS.
Psalms 150:2 Halal him for his mighty acts:
Halal him according to his excellent greatness.
Psalms 150:3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet:
Halal him with the psaltery and harp.
Psalms 150:4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance:
Halal him with stringed instruments and organs.
Psalms 150:5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals:
Halal him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Psalms 150:6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD.
        Halal ye the LORD.
MUSICAL DISCORDERS DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT GOD ABANDONED THEIR "PATTERNISTS" TO WORSHIP THE STARRY HOST. These were the same "gods" they worshipped at Mount Sinai which was a sin without redemption.

THE HEBREW MEANING WHICH DOCTORS OF THE LAW MISSED BECAUSE CHRIST DOESN'T WANT THEM TO KNOW

Jacob WARNED us not to attend the assemblies of the Levites nor to make a covenant with them. This Covenant was a covenant with death and the NOT commanded animal slaughter or the NOT commanded burnt offerings (Isaiah 1, Jeremiah 7).  These were the blood and flesh lust of the Civil-Military-Clergy complex Christ in the prophets called robbers and parasites.  Therefore, when people intend to sow discord to wrestle the church houses of widows and honest workers you know that the END-time control of the Babylon mother of harlots (Rev 17) is using the lusted after fruits (same as in Amos) as rhetoricians, singers and instrument players John called sorcerers who HAD already deceived the whole world.

Revised 7.26.11

John T. Willis 2. "Sing" is vocal; "make melody" is instrumental. Psalms 33:2-3; 144:9; 149:1, 3 make this crystal clear. Amos 5:23 further verifies this reality.  People forget that God turned Israel over to worship the starry host because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai. The Levites were under the KING and the COMMANDERS of the army: they made war and not worship. We will examine these passages in context.

Church is Ekklesia or Synagogue:
both for instruction only: both exclusive of any performing arts: you don't do music when God's Word is taught.  I submit that you cannot be a Christian if you do not understand the meaning of "teach them what I have commanded to be taught."

ALL MUSICAL DISCORDERS FOLLOW THE PATTERN OF THE LEVITES DEFINED BY THE SCRIBES.

The first two reasons assert that under the Old Testament, God did not just allow instrumental music, He commanded and blessed it. Rick offered the following passages for these contentions: 2 Chronicles 5:13-14; 7:6; 29:25-26; Psalm 33:1- 3; 92:1-3; 150:1-6.

Never mind that the godly tribes were quarantined. No singer or player went INTO or NEAR a holy thing or place on the penalty of death. Some of these patterns are separated from the last by up to 300 years.

CHRIST IN THE PROPHETS WARNED ABOUT THE LYING PEN OF THE SCRIBES.

Stand in the gate of the Lords house [courts], and proclaim there this word,
and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all ye of Judah,
that enter in at these gates to worship the Lord. Jeremiah 7:2

Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel,
Amend your ways and your doings,
and I will cause you to dwell in this place. Jeremiah 7:3

Trust ye not in lying words, saying,
The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord,
The temple of the Lord, are these. Jeremiah 7:4

Jer. 8:8 How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is WITH US?
        LO, CERTAINLY IN VAIN MADE HE IT;
THE PEN OF THE SCRIBES IS in vain.

For I spake NOT unto your fathers, nor commanded them
in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt,
concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: Jeremiah 7:22

Cyril of Alexandria, Commentary on John,

That the Pharisees puffed up unto strange boasting,
were wont to pretend that the Divine Word was with them and in them,
and therefore foolishly affirmed that they had advanced to marvellous wisdom,
        the Spirit Itself will testify,
since Christ says by the Prophet Jeremiah unto them,
How do ye say, WE are wise, and the word of the Lord is with us?
                For nought to the scribes became their lying pen;
                the wise
men were ashamed, were dismayed and taken;
                what wisdom
is in them? because they rejected the word of the Lord.

For how are they not taken rejecting the Living and Hypostatic Word of God,
receiving not the faith to Him-ward,
but dishonouring the Impress of God the Father,
and refusing to behold His most true Form (so to say)
through His God-befitting Authority and Power?

THE PROPHECIES BY CHRIST WERE FULFILLED BY JESUS CHRIST: JESUS AND PETER MAKES THE APOSTLES AND PROPHETS THE ONLY TRUTH.

John 6:44 No man can come to me,
except the Father which hath sent me draw him:
and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:45 It is WRITTEN IN THE PROPHETS
And they shall be all taught of God.
Every man therefore that hath heard,
and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

2Pet. 3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words
which were spoken before by the HOLY PROPHETS
and of the commandment of us the APOSTLES of the Lord and Saviour:

IT WAS THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST WHO SPOKE THROUGH THE PROPHETS AND NOT LYING SCRIBES whom He called hypocrites by naming speakers, singers and instrument players in Ezekiel 33.

1Pet. 1:10 Of which salvation the PROPHETS have inquired and searched diligently,
who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
1Pet. 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time
the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify,
when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ,
and the glory that should follow.

God did NOT speak through the lying pen of the Scribes who recorded the Monarchy which God had NOT commanded.

Heb. 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners
spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Heb. 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us BY HIS SON
whom he hath appointed heir of all things,
        by whom also he made the worlds;
Heb. 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory,
and the express image of his person,
and upholding all things by the WORD of his power,
when he had by himself purged our sins,
sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high

THOSE WHO DELIBERATELY SOW DISCORD BY QUOTING THE LYING PEN OF THE SCRIBES (hypocrites: speakers, singers, instrument players) are defined by the Spirit:

Jer. 23:16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts,
Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you:
they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart,
and not out of the mouth of the LORD.

Jer 23:17 They say still unto them that despise me,
        The Lord hath said, Ye shall have peace;
and they say unto every one that walketh
after the imagination of his own heart,
No evil shall come upon you.

Despise tthe Word of God of God and using your own words is:

2. Those who use use the pattern of the Lying Pen of the Scribes, in fact despise and ignore the SPIRIT message.
3. Christ in Jeremiah defines that as blasphemy

Hebrew: H5006 nâ’ats naw-ats' A primitive root; to scorn; abhor, (give occasion to) blaspheme, contemn, despise, flourish, XMIRIAM AS A PATTERN FOR THE ASSEMBLY OF CHRIST AS SCHOOL OF HIS WORDS.

Danny Corbitt p.5:
When the Red Sea swallowed Pharaoh and his chariots, Miriam led the Hebrfew women with tambourines and dancing and a chorus of praise to God (Exodus 15:20, 21)

See Al Maxey using Miriam as an example of a femal musical worship minister in the church: that's a long way from being a soothsayer just out of "baptism" leading the women to escape the SPEAKING of Moses.

All scholars note that while Moses SPAKE the Song, Miriam took probably the Sistrum and LED THE WOMEN out which meant to ESCAPE.  The sistrum and the "answering" or responsisve singing was a form of browbeating and not worship.

"In the first place, it will be noticed from the account of the triumphant rejoicing on the shore of the Red Sea that the men sang only: 'Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and SPAKE saying.'" (Girardeau, George, p. 33)

Masculine is SPEAK or SAY (as in Speak one to another). Feminine or effeminate is to SANG and CLANG: no recorded exception to the rule, Al.

"In the second place, it was Miriam and the women who used instruments of music on the occasion: 'And Miriam, the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went after her with timbrels and with dances." (Girardeau, p. 33).

Of course a tabret or sistrum is NOT a musical instrument and it gave its name for TOPHETH or HELL.

Thirdly, the sistrum was a RATTLE and not a musical instrument. It did not even make a SINGLE note.  It was to establish a BEAT. Therefore, Al Maxey is obligated to go out and DANCE with the women and do the RESPONSIVE chanting which is defined as BROW BEATING.
Ex 15:20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand;
and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances
.

Here is what Miriam really did:

There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the Lord, a wicked counsellor. Na.1:11
Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. Zec.14:3

Here is what God thought of her "revelations."

Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do. Deut 24:8

Remember what the Lord thy God did unto Miriam by the way, after that ye were come forth out of Egypt. Deut 24:9

Here is what Miriam did which was common to what the Israelites did in Egypt and never ceased to do.

Sistrum, a metallic rattle which was used by the Egyptians in celebrating the rites of Isis, and in other lascivious festivals,.Ov. Am. 2, 13, 11 By the Jews, Vulg. 1 Reg. [Samuel] 18, 6 .--Hence sarcastically, as if used for a war - trumpet by the wanton Cleopatra Verg. A.8.696   Luc. 10.63

The writing prophets are included in the message of the Spirit OF (preposition) Christ: they always repudiate the Civil-Military-Clergy complex as robbers and parsites.  Prophesying in a musical sense is called SOOTSAYING.  Why not when God turned them over to worship the STARRY HOST.

1 Samuel 18:[6]  It happened as they came, when David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tambourines, with joy, and with instruments of music. [7]  The women sang one to another [h6030 Anah] as they played, and said, Saul has slain his thousands, David his ten thousands. [8]  Saul was very angry

"was a typical woman's instrument... Although it occurs in the Psalter and in religious hymns (Exod. 15; Jer. 31:4), it was not permitted in the temple. Its functions in the bible was restricted to secular or religious frolicking, cultic dances, or processions (e.g., II Sam. 6:5; I Chr. 13:8; Ps. 68:25-26). Its absence in the temple ritual was possibly due to its strong female symbolism, which always accompanied the tambourine, and which made its use so popular at all fertility rites." (The Int. Std. Bible Dict., p. 474).
Ovid: book 9, Metamorphoses
the sacred rattles were there, and Osiris, known
the constant object of his worshipers' desire,
and there the Egyptian serpent whose quick sting
gives long-enduring sleep. She seemed to see
them all, and even to hear the goddess say
to her, "O Telethusa, one of my
remembered worshipers, forget your grief;
your husband's orders need not be obeyed;
and when Lucina has delivered you,
save and bring up your child, if either boy
or girl. I am the goddess who brings help
to all who call upon me; and you shall
never complain of me--that you adored
a thankless deity." So she advised
by vision the sad mother, and left her.

"Thus they made a golden bull, the image of an animal that was held to be the most sacred in that land; they offered unholy sacrifices, performed impious dances and sang hymns which differed in no way from the pagan mourning songs. Philo, De specialibus legibus

"This reference probably indicates the use of songs from the cult of Osiris... it can hardly be denied that Egyptian influence on Jewish musical practices was quite significant. This would stand to reason because of the high quality of Egyptian cultic music. The tambourine or timbrel, a hoop of bells over which a white skin was stretched, came from Egypt. Miriam used this instrument to accompany the singing and dancing on the shores of the Red Sea (Ex. 15).

"The trumpet... was the signaling instrument of the Egyptian army. The name of the Sistrum (2 Sam 6:5) was mena'ane'im. It was the Egyptian kemken used in the cult of Isis.

"The music during the transferring the Ark to Sion (David rose up to play)
and the dances of the women at the Shiloh (Judges 21:21), were similar to the Egyptian liturgy and parades.

"As Herodotus reports, women sang the praises of Osiris while liknesses of the gods were born about and, during the festival of Diana at Bubastis.

See Ezekiel explaining.

"Unfortunatcly, Scripture gives us no details about Miriam's prophetic skills, but they seem to be at the root of the darkest period in her life, for in her next appearance she is vying in prophecy with Moses. She and Aaron have been whispering to each other, first against the "Cushite" wife Moses married and then against his leadership. "Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?" they say. "Has He not spoken through us as well?" (Numbers 12: ).

DAVID AS PATTERNISM FOR INSTRUMENTS IN THE ASSEMBLY OF CHRIST.

Danny Corbitt p.5: DAVID SANG AND MADE MUSIC WITH ALL HIS SOUL ON THE HARP AND LYRE (PSALM 108.1)

Load your mind with the fact that KINGS were given in God's anger because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai and the elders firing God and demanding a NATINAL leader: God knew that they wanted to worship like the nations. Stephen in Acts 7 says that God turned them over to worship the starry host and THAT is what the Temple was buit for until God could carry out the death and captivity sentence.  David was king and not a priest, preacher, song leader and never performed for any worship which meant to "fall on your face."
Psa. 108:1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.
Psa. 108:2 Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
Psa. 108:3 I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

"The mourning ritual connected with Astarte in KAI 37 and elsewhere, and the tradition of "RAISING the god" (mqm 'lm), identified as ASTARTE'S bridegroom in KAI 44:2, in Phoenician epigraphs (c.f. the Eqron epigraph, lmqm, in the seventh c., where other indications of Phoenician influence are present), suggest the importance of the cycle through the UNDERWORLD in this cult

"In an inscription from Cyprus, in one from Rhodes and in several from around the district of Carthage, there are references to important personages who bear the title Mqm'lm which we can translate as AROUSERS of the god.'" (de Vaux, Roland, The Bible and the Ancient Near East, Doubleday, p. 247).

The me'oreim term is associated with the "RESOUNDING GONG" and the "CLANGING cymbal" of 1 Cor. 13 me'onem "means to emit a hoarse nasal sound such as was customary in reciting the prescribed formula" or charm.

""Peckham 1987:84-87: the association of Astarte with the dying god, Eshmun, may well be related to CHILD SACRIFICE, as Peckham; Robertson 1982:329. Given the parallel to Genesis 22, the tradition of Kronos sacrificing his only son as a part of the Phoenician cult looks to be related to the thriving BUSINESS of infant sacrifice in Phoenician culture.

Scripture is to REFUTE this sort of making music with all of your soul

"We even have a mention at a later date of a similar custom in connection with the cult in Jerusalem, where certain Levites, called me'oreim, 'AROUSERS,' sang (every morning?) this verse from "Ps 44:23: "Awake, O Lord! Why do you sleep? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever." The Talmud tells us that John Hyrcanus suppressed the practice because it recalled too readily a pagan custom." (Roland de Vaux, p. 247).

"A similar practice is attested in connection with the cult of Herakles-Melkart. According to Menander, as he is quoted by Josephus, the king Hiram, who was a contemporary of Solomon, rebuilt the temples of Tyre and, 'he was the first to celebrate the AWAKENING of Heracles in the month of Peritius.'" (de Vaux, p. 247)

Herakles is implicated as the originator of homosexuality in the temples and especially with Jerusalem as defined by Second Maccabees.

At that time Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years, the span of a king's life. But at the end of these seventy years, it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the prostitute: Is.23:15

Take up a harp, walk through the city, O prostitute forgotten; play the harp well, sing many a song, so that you will be remembered." Is.23:16

At the end of seventy years, the LORD will deal with Tyre. She will return to her hire as a prostitute and will ply her trade with all the kingdoms on the face of the earth. Is.23:17

DAVID'S NAKED MUSIC AND DANCE WITH THE CAMP FOLLOWERS AS A PATTERN.

Danny Corbitt p.5: And he wouldn't let his wife Michal shame him for his unbridled praise (2 Samuel 6:16, 21, 22). At times the people shouted or clapped their handls, musical instruments rang out, believers danced or fell on their knees, and hands were lifted high as God's people made a joyful noise.

See 2 Samuel 6 and David's Second Ark Movement to HIS new tent. The second move did not involve the godly congregation NOR Godly Michal who was David's faithful wife.

Quasten notes that the tambourine , like in Augustine,

"had already occupied an important position in the cult of the Egyptians, for its sound, which was deep and hollow, expelled the demons. The rhythmic musical character of the tambourine was highly suited to induce psychic stimulation."( p. 37)

David boasted that he MADE HIMSELF VILE and would be honored by the camp-following girls.

As punishment of Michal, David slaughtered all of Saul's threatening offspring giving up one for human sacrifice.

"The ritual dance was probably widespread in the ancient East. David's performance has Egyptian parallels. Seti I, the father of Rameses II, and three other Pharaohs are said to have danced before a deity, and Asiatic monuments attest the custom elsewhere... The description of David's dance: he 'danced before Jehovah with all his might... leaping and dancing before Jeh' (2 S 6: 14-16) suggests three features that particular display and the mode of dancing which it represented: violent exertion, leaping (Mephassez) and whirling round (mekharker) . Perhaps the whirling dance of Islam is a modern parallel to the last." (Int Std Bible Ency., Games, p. 1170).

Theosophy copies from Plutarch and others to say:

[[Vol. 2, Page]] 45 THE HEBREW KADESHIM.

Thus "
Bacchus was directly called upon," he says. The Sabazian worship was Sabbatic; the names Evius, or Hevius, and Luaios are identical with Hivite and Levite.

The French name Louis is the Hebrew Levi; Iacchus again is Iao or Jehovah; and Baal or Adon, like Bacchus, was a phallic god.

"Who shall ascend into the hill (the HIGH place) of the Lord?" asks the holy king David, "who shall stand in the place of his Kadushu [[Heb char]]"? (Psalms xxiv. 3). Kadesh may mean in one sense to devote, hallow, sanctify, and even to initiate or to set apart;

but it also means the ministers of lascivious rites (the Venus (ZOE, Lucifer)-worship) and the true interpretation of the word Kadesh is bluntly rendered in Deuteronomy xxiii. 17; Hosea iv. 14; and Genesis xxxviii., from verses 15 to 22. The "holy" Kadeshuth of the Bible were identical as to the duties of their office with the Nautch-girls of the later Hindu pagodas.

Deut 23:17 There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
Deut 23:18
Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the Lord thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the Lord thy God.

3611. keleb, keh´-leb; from an unused root means. to yelp, or else to attack; a dog; hence (by euphemism) a male prostitute:--dog.

Hos 4:14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.

The Hebrew Kadeshim or galli lived "by the house of the Lord, where the women wove hangings for the grove," or bust of Venus-Astarte, says verse the seventh in the twenty-third chapter of 2 Kings.

The dance performed by David round the ark was the "circle-dance" said to have been prescribed by the Amazons for the Mysteries. Such was the dance of the daughters of Shiloh (Judges xxi. 21, 23 et passim), and the leaping of the prophets of Baal (I Kings xviii. 26). It was simply a characteristic of the Sabean worship, for it denoted the motion of the planets round the sun.

That the dance was a Bacchic frenzy is apparent. Sistra were used on the occasion, and the taunt of Michael and the king's reply are very expressive. "The king of Israel uncovered himself before his maid-servants as one of the vain (or debauched) fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself." And he retorts: "I will play (act wantonly) before [[Heb char]], and I will be yet more vile than this, and I will be base in my own sight."

When we remember that David had sojourned among the Tyrians and Philistines, where their rites were common; and that indeed he had conquered that land away from the house of Saul, by the aid of mercenaries from their country, the countenancing and even, perhaps, the introduction of such a Pagan-like worship by the weak "psalmist" seems very natural. David knew nothing of Moses, it seems, and if he introduced the Jehovah-worship it was not in its monotheistic character, but simply as that of one of the many gods of the neighboring nations -- a tutelary deity to whom he had given the preference, and chosen among "all other gods."

TO PAGE NINE--THE END OF THE CHAPTER--DANNY SPEAKS ABOUT HIS AND OTHER PEOPLE'S EXPERIENCES.

It doesn't matter what people think about music or no music: in our sound-byte world with sermonizing and singing about self there is no reason for people to know the Bible which is the only commanded resource for the assembly. If peachers and book writers do not know the meaning of a DISCIPLE they might think that they need a singing and clapping group to assist them in listening to the TEXT which Christ ordaied for the SCHOOL. He commanded that we TEACH that which He commanded to be taught until the end of the world. If Christ didn't include MAKING NOISE when He comes to be ouronly Rabbi, then DISCIPLES will understand why you don't act juvenile in the presence of God.

CHAPTER THREE FIVE DISPUTABLE MATTERS

Danny Corbitt p.9: The Apostle PAUL asked us to accept one another "without passing judgment on disputable matters."

Rom. 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
Rom. 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; [anything practiced by these sects]
but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Rom. 14:18 For he that in these things serveth Christ
is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
Rom. 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace,
and things wherewith one may edify another.

What is not included in the School of Christ is "personal opinion" or "personal preferences." Those who impose their opinion are passing judgment that their opinion trumps Christ's Words.

Dialogismos is used 14 times in the NAS (Matthew; Mark; Luke 6x; Romans 2x; 1 Corinthians; Philippians; 1 Timothy; James) and is translated as: argument, 1; disputing, 1; dissension, 1; doubts, 1; motives, 1; opinions, 1; reasonings, 2; speculations, 1; thoughts, 3; what...were thinking, 2

Dialogismos is used 11 times in the Septuagint (LXX) (Ps 40:5, 56:5, 92:5, 94:11, 139:2, 139:20, 146:4, Isa 59:7, Jer 4:14, Lam 3:60-61) Dialogismos often means the perverse, vain thinking which contemplates destruction (Ps. 94:11), and is turned against God (Jer. 4:14; Isa. 59:7) and against the godly (Ps. 56:5).

Commenting on Phil 2:14, MacArthur notes that dialogismos...

soon developed the more specific ideas of questioning, doubting, or disputing the truth of a matter. In Romans 14:1, the word is used of passing judgment on another believer’s opinions and in 1 Timothy 2:8 it is rendered “dissension.” Whereas grumbling is essentially emotional, disputing is essentially intellectual. A person who continues to murmur and grumble against God will eventually argue and dispute with Him. (MacArthur, J. Philippians. Chicago: Moody Press)

Edify in this letter is defined immediately in Romans 15 where Paul OUTLAWED those doubtful disputations NOT connected to the kingdom of God.  Liberty never gives the musicians authority to impose their bodies and performance in my school of the Word. The most ancient pagans knew that you could use musical tones to convince the simple people that you were IMPROVING their condition and THEY in turn should give THEM your LAMBS.  That's the only meaning of a sacrificial priesthood.
g3619.Edifying.gif

Because DISCIPLES go to a school of Christ and His Word where we teach that which He has commanded to be taught, we can keep out sanity and understand the Word of Christ which is the only building up through educaion. There is no command to SING as an act of worship: that would be legalism. By reciting the Psalms one to another we inculcate God's values in the Great epics telling us about the good, the bad and the ugly in society.
Rom. 15:1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak,
and not to please ourselves.  [all theatrical or performance arts and crafts]
Rom. 15:2 Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
Rom. 15:3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written,
The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
Rom. 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning,
that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Rom. 15:5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
Rom. 15:6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Paul is speaking of DIET and the DAYS people come to the marketplace to eat or buy food. Beyond the IDENTIFIERS however we know that there were three sects in Rome based on diet but they were all highly addicted to vocal and instrumental noise during their assemblies: the purpose was to drive people into "mental excitement" or the "laded burden" Jesus died to remove.

EXCLUSION 1 Danny says that Exclusion has broken fellowship over five issues.  "Exclusion" (you know who you are, raca) contends that the early church believed that God wanted them to praise him a cappela only.

IN FACT IMPOSING INSTRUMENTS WITHOUT ANY NEED FOR AUTHORITY BROKE FELLOWSHIP IN THE DISCIPLES/CHRISTIAN CHURCHES.

What became the Church of Christ was never united with the Disciples / Christian church other than agreeing to hold joint assemblies without discussing "doctrine." That was the handshake of a few men in 1831 which was denounced by Campbell and most Church of Christ preachers.  The first census in 1906 recognized that the Church of Christ could not be included in the Disciples / Christian denomination. The Christian churches formed the NACC in 1927 and remained part of the Disciples until the 1968 restructure and were DElisted in 1971.  It is dishonest and pshchological violence to blame the Churches of Christ for secting out of the Christian church which would not exist for several decades.

In fact, the only broken fellowship in most American religious groups has been by presumptious people insisting that their church provide them with entertainment instead of education. The Churches of Christ never at any time in recorded history ever used instruments: not even when their ancestors were Catholics. The Catholic church did not let the congregation sing and the organ did not make noise when the Precentor was chanting a Psalm.

In addition, the word "sing" in the Bible and historic church was using the normal inflections of the human voice. None of the commanded Bible text was metrical and they could not sing it tunefully if their lives depended on it. Danny etal violate the direct command with no intention of speaking with one mind and one mouth that which is written for our learning.

Furthermore, the word "a cappella" wasn't in God's vocabulary. Being a Patriarchal God "straight" people did not sing TO Him. As praise singing that is the world's oldest, most superstitious profession using doing double duty with the second oldest profession: you couldn't get fertility out of the gods unless you had the brides and bridegrooms (Revelation 18) perform the Heiros Gamos. ACappella is a steal word from the pope's castrated French opry singers imported for the Sistine. The clergy singers were male but had to perform the female role and the falsetto's (ccm) could not compete with the castrated ones Paull spoke about in Galatians 5.

EXCLUSION 2 Danny says that that "Exclusion" contends that Ephesians 5:19 specificially concernes the singing of praise during "public worship" but NOT in other settings like our private lives.  That conclusion is essential to the argument. We must ask about the setting of Ephesians 5.19.

That was the INCLUSIVE view of everyone prior to the Disciples / Christian Churches: none of the Bible was metrical in a tuneful sense and was never sung as in Sang and Clang. No congregational singing in a unison tuneful sense until Calvin permitted some Psalms (only) to be REwritten and set to a simple melody to be sung in UNISON (only).

For this cause sent he me to instruct thee in all these things, to be both a speaker of words and a doer of deeds. Wherefore, dear child, I am not minded hereafter [445] to be left alone without thee, nay, not though a god himself should pledge him to strip from me my old age and render me strong in youth as in the day when first I left Hellas, the home of fair women, fleeing from strife with my father Amyntor, son of Ormenus; for he waxed grievously wroth against me by reason of his fair-haired concubine, [450] whom himself he ever cherished, and scorned his wife, my mother. First: 1317. didaktiko didaktikos, did-ak-tik-os´; from 1318; instructive (“didactic”): — apt to teach.

Second: baptism in the NAME of Jesus Christ (not a magical formula). Christ removes sin from THEIR spirit so they have A holy spirit. This, says Paul in 2 Corinthians 3, is the only way you request A good conscience (co-perception) so that you can read BLACK text on BROWN paper.

Third :1319. didaskali÷a didaskalia, did-as-kal-ee´-ah; from 1320; instruction (the function or the information): — doctrine, learning, teaching.

In fact, the Levites could NOT sing or play in or near any holy thing or place: the Holy Place was symbolic of the Body of Christ. If they played IN the temple they would be executed.  At other times it appears that the Levites--on the dole--sang and played around the courts and city to give glory to the King who was their boss.

Danny can sing, clap, play and make himselve vile like David in his own place and time: Let him try it before the boss when he asks for a raise and see if he isn't hurt in all of the right places.

Ephesians 4 EXCLUDES the music and musicians: Ephesians 5 defines the "synagogue" as Paul's common word for "come together." The ekklesia met about once a week. The synagogue met once a week. The church met once a week and Paul is defining CHURCH.

EXCLUSION 3 Exclusion tells us that the Greek vocabulary of this passage demands that the psalms it calls us to sing should only be sung without instruments. Does the passage teach a cappella?

No. We saw in reading BLACK text on BROWN paper that the active verb is to SPEAK the Biblical text. SPEAK is defined as the opposite of poetry or music. Singing AND making melody (or Grace) is IN THE HEART. That is a PLACE where God seeks our worship. Peter warned about people twisting Paul.

A cappella is the ORGANUM performed by CASTRATED French Opra Singers imported to the Sistine Chapel (caper, goat) because the Pope enjoyed them better than the FALSETTO singers: clergy must be MALE but they must perform the role of FEMALES.

Singing in a non-metrical sense was IMPOSED in about 373 after Constantine paid priests and the pagans came flocking in to become CLERGY.  That recorded bit of history PROVES that there was no simple singing UNTIL it was imposed.

The word psallo is always translated as to SING (not tuneful back then).  It is never used meaning "play a harp." When a harp is included the word "psallo" means to SMITE a string with our fingers and NEVER with a plectrum.  If you want to smite a harp string then you must tell someone WHAT to smite: he might yank our your hair.

EXCLUSION 4 Exclusion argues that Ephesians 5:19 demands that in our worship assemblies everyone must all sing together (congregationally)--no choirs, no solos.  Can that be seen in those lines.

No: Corbitt is measuring US by USE and that is not wise. Anyone who is permitted by having A holy spirit can see that the Bible connects mechanical sounds to the SERPENT in the wilderness to the Babylon mother in harlots (Revelation) using "lusted after fruits" (same as in Amos 8) as speakers, singers and instrument players: John calls them SORCERERS and says that they will be cast alive into the lake of fire.

While the "singing" was cantillation or rhymic prose, the direct command of Paul was that we ALL participate (if able). There is no performers therefore EACH one must confess the Word of Christ (only) or they have not really participated. Cantillation does not honor the "idolatry of talent."

ANTITHESIS for the Assembly: On the other hand, From Christ in the church in the wilderness the command for disciples who attend the School of Christ to be taught what HE commanded to be taught:
Rom. 15:5 Now the God of patience and consolation
grant you to be likeminded one toward another

Well, as a mater of fact, no. There was no "singing" in a tuneful sense: we have added that only after the Reformation. While it proved divisive it is not divisive now.  No congregational singer will infiltrate and steal your church property.

ANTITHETICAL PARALLELISM

The Bible is filled with the antithesis between the performing clergy of all religions using music as the primary tool to fool the foolish and the one another reading of the Word of God: we speak the very words of God when we read Scripture. Church has no other role and no funding for whatever one can cook up in violation of doubtful disputations Paul outlawed in Romans 14.

Music literally changes the thinking power of the mind so that it accepts that which is false if it is presented by the "Muses" or the "Graces." Satan knew that as the "singing and harp playing prostitute in the garden of Eden."

II. Antithetical Parallelism--The thought of the first line is expressed by an antithesis in the second;
or is counterbalanced by a contrast in the second. This parallelism is very common in the Book of Proverbs:

(a) The tongue of the wise adorneth knowledge,
{but} The mouth of the fool blurteth out folly.

Prov., xv, 2.
(b) Soundness of heart is the life of the flesh,
{but} Envy is the rot of the bones.

The assembly is a ONE ANOTHER assembly: if you show PREFERENCE, says James, you are guilty of ALL of the 613 laws. There is no performance in synagogue or church. I suppose that I have to quote one of the NEVER MUSICAL passages again to show you what was INTENDED.  You have to go out on a limb and add "doubtful disputations" to add performance singers on stage.
Rom. 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime
        were written for our learning,
that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Rom. 15:5 Now the God of patience and consolation
grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
Rom. 15:6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The goal was that everyone leave the assembly having LEARNED a Psalm or other passage of scripture. You memorize by repeating it FOR YOURSELF.

Danny doesn't really have any intention of telling you to SPEAK that which is written when he years to have performers center state which shuts out Christ and His Words.
EXCLUSION 5 p.11  Exclusion contends that we must separate ourselves from those whose praise allows instruments and choruses.

The recorded history is that any sort of UNITY means that people must AFFIRM that they were right to sow discored and do ceremonial-legalism. The getting close ALWAYS means that you get BIT and the instrumentalists are not happy until they have stolen your property from the owners. Churches of Christ continued to do what they have always done in recorded history from the Church of Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness where Christ OUTLAWED "vocal or instrumental rejoicing or any self-speak." If you grasp that Qahal, synagogue or ekklesia was for RESTING, reading and rehearsing the Word then no one would tolerate worshiping the PERFORMERS singing their own words.

The Alarm or Triumph-Over always intended to silence the Word of God: that is the proven role of music and musicians.

Tabret (Heb. toph ), a timbrel (q.v.) or tambourine, generally played by women (Gen 31:27; Sa1 10:5; Sa1 18:6). In Job 17:6 the word (Heb. topheth ) "tabret" should be, as in the Revised Version, "an open abhorring" (marg., "one in whose face they spit;" lit., "a spitting in the face").

Compare Psa 69:12, "I was the song of the drunkards;" Lam 3:14, "I was a derision to all my people, and their song all the day."

It still happens when people use music which means "to make the lambs dumb before the slaughter."

Those who turn the School of Christ (only) into a praise service with choirs or instruments is NOT a Christian Assembly (synagogue) but a social gathering.  Because disciples understand that instruments are always the mark of people telling God that He will not be heard, they will not and should not gather with them which would endorse their deliberate sowing of discord which is not a forgivable sin.

What is known as the Church of Christ at no time in recorded history participated in a musical performance claiming that it was for God or from God: that defines a lying wonder. None of the groups which collected under the teachings of the Campbells and others beginning in England and Ireland had ever used instruments because they knew that it was a "sign of Baal."  They also knew that its influence even on the unchurched led to the moral and sexual breakdown as first recorded in Exodus 32 and rehearsed by Paul in Romans 1.  In 1 Corinthians 10 he calls the "play" or musical idolatry at Mount Sinai DEMON worship.

All religious groups EXCLUDE its own members and tell them to "get over it or get our" when they IMPOSE instruments in other people's property and church family. When you get close to 80 you grasp that you can be in only one place at a time. And absolutely, instruments are widely used in the Bible to tell a congregation that the CANDLES have been removed and "God will not pass that way again." The Bible in BLACK text on BROWN paper is INVISIBLE to those who have not turned to Christ. Only the Blind miss the fact that from Genesis to Revelation the musical instrument has been the MARK of people teling Christ to be silent. Music MEANS to make the lambs dumb before the slaughter. Sacrificial music is identified as Sacred Violence.  Those with eyes and ears will automatically get up and walk out when the preacher--with no authority--announces that the spirit has told him to impose 'instrumental praise.'

Churches don't DO praise services other than using one MIND and one MOUTH to teach that which is written for our learning. To go beyond that happens only when they think that they are CO-revealers with the Son of God.

Instrumental churches EXCLUDE at least half of those remotely connected with the American Restoration Movement: they do that intentionally with no Biblical authority.

Non instrumental churches do not EXCLUDE anyone because everyone agrees that they can sing congregationally.

Matt Dabbs--Danny Corbitt Ripening Issues

See on the Synagogue which began as the Church of Christ in the wilderness.

I.  As evil type the Jews engaged in musical idolatry at Mount Sinai

        A. As a remedy the tribe of Levi whom Jacob had warned about were abandoned to worship the starry host.
        B. Christ ordained the Qahal, ekklesia, synagogue or church in the wilderness.

II. As evil anti-type the Jews would treat the Son of God in the same way: this is prophesied in great detail to prove that they would attack him in the style of the perverted musical mockers.

          A. The Prophecy of the perverse, musical attack against the Son.

B. As a remedy Jesus promised to build HIS ekklesia or synagogue. That continues the Synagogue which never had a "praise service" but was devoted to the Word of God--only.  It would be empowered by His Spirit in His Word. Jesus patterned, Paul taught and commanded and the historic church was faithful for almost 400 years when singing as an ACT was added.

The stumbling stone is that almost no sees church as a school of the Bible but as a "worship service" which is patterned on the fatal pattern of the tribe of Levi.  That is why lost souls lust to live under the Law.

We should make the short note that there is no dispute about music in recorded history. Furthermore, those who ADDED instruments did so with no need for authority.  Unity then and now was not the object: the object under the unity diversion is an opening wedge to use isolated verses to contradict the purpose of the Spirit to force people to affirm disputable practice. The object is NOT unity any more than the wolf wants unity with the lamb: the object is that we can have unity if YOU abandon your eternal understanding and agree to SIN with us. Probably no more effort has been spent on any dogma than the attempt to convince people to do what Danny has confessed to be disputable instrumental worship.  That contracts the Spirit through Paul who said that disputable matters are not tolerated in the assembly: only that which edifies which means educate with that which is written.

It is pretty easy to fall for the folly that the Church of Christ INVENTED not using music as part of the "school of the Bible." In fact, and contrary to most of the attack, none of the protestant groups in America used instruments when the effort to RESTORE the Bible as the sole source of information about the Christian discipline.  Not even Catholics engaged in congregational singing with instrumental accompaniment.  And yet, the instrumentalists seem to think that there was even one single event in the Old or New Testament where people collectively "worshipped" doing what they call praise music.

In fact, before the Disciples added the organ (only instrument authorized) most other denominations had or were going through the same massive "worship wars" knowing they would sow discord but needing the organ to save their edifice. McGarvey was told that his church could not survive without the added attractant and money.  As far as I can determine, the Disciples were the first to try to find authority after they has joined with the other denominations.  Even now, the massive numbers of the world's worshipers do not use instruments AS worship.

DON'T LET ELDERS TURNED WOLVES and doctors of the law DRAG YOU OFF INTO THE BUSHES WITH LIES. Psallo never meant "play-a-harp."  The Holy Spirit knew a dozen words to tell us to play a harp but did not. That is because all instrument playing was marked as witchcraft or sorcery of evil men and women trying to pick your pockets.

Because the word PSALLO is the first attempt by the Disciples to justify their sectarianism which excluded multitutes is so critical to their position, we have taken a look at the use of the word in the Septuagint..  Psallo means to play and does not include an instrument.  If say David is playing a harp then it must be named: the addition of the harp does not change the definition of psallo to INCLUDE the harp. Otherwise the word is used in the LXX to means SING.

PSALLO IN THE LXX to get past that argument.

SO DISCOUNT THE FALSE FOUNDATION THAT THE CHURCH OF CHRIST INVENTED NOT USING INSTRUMENTS.

Some History of Instrumental music in worship: this list is not up to date. We have posted most of the Presbyterian writers who were against instruments before the Church of Christ scholars.  A fairly complete collection of music documents beginning with clay tablets some 3,000 years old when Moses wrote to warn the Israelites who had fallen from grace because of musical worship. Click and you will find not a jot or tittle of evidence that God wants instrumental noise when HE holds church in the wilderness or Academy.

WHY HAS THERE BEEN A GIGANTIC OUTBURST OF DISCORD AND AFFLICTION BY IMPOSING INSTRUMENTS?

Perhaps to validate their musical sectarianism the last three decades has witnessed discord of historic proportion.

The compulsive behaviour intends to force those who prefer what is falsely called ACappella to at least affirm or confess that the sectarians were Biblically authorized or even commanded to add what is defined as "machines for doing hard work or for producing the shock and awe of religious ceremonials."   These are blessed with the title Non-instrumentalists.

However, those who never used instruments and who believe that it is anti-Biblical to use noise-making machines to create the laded burden Jesus died to shut down, and who continue to resist those who spread discord, are defined as ANTI-instrumentalists and are fair game for games fair or foul. Dwayne Dunning declared that they were going to take the AXE to this "sect" or "cult." And the blood has flown for more than three decades.

They hide the truth that the "serpent" was a musical enchanter(ess) in the garden, and that the "musical team" used by Nimrod intended to shut down the logical (word) or spiritual brain.  That allowed them to pour their venom into your emotional (feminine) brain so that YOU believe that their stealing your cattle was your plan from the beginning.  They hide the fact Cain is derived from a musical note and this MARKED him. He produced the EVIL LAMECH race with the Jubal, Jabal, Tubal-Cain and Naamah family, the first murder, the first polygamy and the first use of musical instruments.  Jubal, the Cainite, was the father of all of the musical instrument handlers which means "without authority." That is because they used "the works of human hands" to steal all of the cattle and then sell them back to you. Even worse, they abuse the God-created "fight or flight" impulse and tell you that they are brinnging you into contact with the "spirits."  Yes, Paul looked back at the musical idolatry or play at Mount Sinai and called it demon worship.  We get a clear picture under the prophet's exposure of the Amos and Isaiah musical fall from grace.
Speaking of the Instrumental music in worship condemned by Amos and others we note that:

"The marzeah had an extremely long history extending at least from the 14th century B.C. through the Roman period. In the 14th century B.C., it was prominently associated with the ancient Canaanite city of Ugarit (modern Ras Shamra), on the coast of Syria... The marzeah was a pagan ritual that took the form of a social and religious association... Some scholars regard the funerary marzeah as a feast for--and with--deceased ancestors (or Rephaim, a proper name in the Bible for the inhabitants of Sheol)." (King, Biblical Archaeological Review, Aug, 1988, p. 35, 35)

"These five elements are: (1) reclining or relaxing, (2) eating a meat meal, (3) singing with harp or other musical accompaniment, (4) drinking wine and (5) anointing oneself with oil." (King, p. 37).

"Worship was form more than substance; consequently, conduct in the marketplace was totally unaffected by worship in the holy place. Amos spoke from the conviction that social justice is an integral part of the Mosaic covenant, which regulates relations not only between God and people, but also among people." (King, p. 44).

"In pagan traditions, musical instruments are invented by gods or demi-gods, such as titans. In the Bible, credit is assigned to antediluvian patriarchs, for example, the descendants of Cain in Genesis 4:21. There is no other biblical tradition about the invention of musical instruments." (Freedman, David Noel, Bible Review, Summer 1985, p. 51).

Perhaps Danny has been nurtured into a fatal fall from grace which was caused by the musical enchanter(ess) in the garden of Eden, at Mount Sinai and in the end times Babylon mother of harlots (Rev 17) who uses lusted after fruits (Amos used the term also) as slick speakers, singers and musicians John called sorcerers who HAD deceived the whole world in Revelation 18.  The fact is that all musical terms are couched at the door to enchant, charm or to drive you into an out of your mind condition which all of the musical pagans intended while picking your pockets.
Aristotle: Melody Deceives: "Poets also make use of this in inventing words, as a melody "without strings" or "without the lyre"; for they employ epithets from negations, a course which is approved in proportional metaphors..

The form of diction should be neither metrical nor without rhythm.

If it is metrical, it lacks persuasiveness, for it appears artificial, and at the same time it distracts the hearer's attention, since it sets him on the watch for the recurrence of such and such a cadence..

According to Philo, the gods of the pagans exploit this weakness of men. For the sake of a better effect, and with the intention of more easily cheating their devotes, that they have set their lies to melodies, rhythms and meters.." Click for more.

In a literal sense:

John 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God:
for God giveth not the Spirit by meter unto him.

And the words connected to SPEAK and the WORD are clearly defined as the OPPOSITE of either poetry or music.

Some of the previous books living primarily off the list of "psallo" proof texts by Tom Burgess which in turn come from O.E.Payne. Too bad that the historical literature has to be used to inject MUSIC in the not-musical passages speaking of using that which is written and using one mind and one mouth to edify or educate, comfort with Scripture and prevent the discord when "doubtful disputations" outlawed in Romans 15 are used.

Missing More than Music: Buy the book
  1. I will go back over some history that most most preachers and even leading scholars have never read.
  2. If you can grasp (probably not) the evil role of music in the Bible involving lucifer the singing and harp playing prostitute, Musical Exorcists in the curse of the sacrificial system, the use of "praise" in warfare to panic the enemy with a threat of being sodomized if they do not turn coward, prostitutes and Sodomites, WHY would you bruise all of your tender parts to IMPOSE something which has always signalled spiritual warfare and an outbreak of feminist impulses?
  3. If you could READ black text on brown paper you would define words and understand the universal MUSICAL MARK of people shedding blood or males shedding your clothes.  Psalm 149 has David seemingly lusting to get in bed with God as we have musical discorders LUSTING to "dance in the lap of God."
  4. If you could read the prophecy of Judas' musical attack on Jesus prophesied and fulfilled right up to the cross by the Levites after Judas did the honorable thing probably still carrying his Judas bag for carrying the mouthpieces of wind instruments well illustrated by the perverse males. See Psalm 41 prophesying of Judas' musical attack in the Dead Sea Version

  7. If you could grasp that NO ONE ever imposed instruments planning to sow massive discord because of the lust of the ears and the lust of the eyes by appealing to the Scriptures or the church fathers.
  8. If you could understand human decency101aa WHY would you lust to be able to watch the always-effeminate and screechy screamy boys as A CAPPELLA (the goat singers) imitating the CASTRATED musical worship team of the Pope in the Sistine where real organs were not permitted?
FORWARD BY MILTON JONES:

An Arabic saying is "if the father plays the tambourine the son will dance." Of course the Muslims understood and rejected instrumental music as Satanic: there is no other traditon except that of Jubal who HANDLED all of the musical instruments meaning without authority.  However, Danny Corbitt sees Milton Jones as his nurturing father: a banjo is a tambourine with strings.

Here is a sermon review where Milton Jones twisted all known evidence.

Milton Jones, too, saw the way to unity by discording a historic pioneer Church of Christ in Seattle Washington.  More than 30 years prior to this forward, as an elder I helped move Milton Jones and an exodus group to Seattle. Milton's paper was the Vanguard concept but the hostile takeover was too young for us to grasp that it was our territory that they were moving into in order to confiscate in the model of many ancient conquoring vandals and well illustrated by the way the Aztecs invaded and displaced owners.

Milton Jones defended this hostile takeover for the Christian Church or the NACC based on the documents supplied by the Christian Church which twists and lies about all of the Biblical and historical references to the use of "machines for doing hard work" to enchant or perform sorcery in the words of John in Revelation 18.  In Revelation 17 this is the MARK of the Babylon mother of harlots who uses "lusted after fruits" as slick, deceptive speakers, singers and instrument players.  John said that they HAD deceived the whole world.  In the old symbol of the serpent biting its own tail this closes the cycle begun in the garden of Eden with the serpent.  No, not a snake but a snakish race of viper worshipers meaning a musical enchanter or mostly enchantress. That is because the literature is void of any "straight" men singing and playing instruments in a religious sense.  Personified as the king / queen of Tyre, he / she is called the "singing and harp playing prostitute."  As the literal king of Tyre he/she loved to sell her supply of cedar and then use the musical girls to deceive the merchant, murder him and get the cedar back. The actual record of Wen Amun explains how the NACC has worked with dupes to achieve "unity" by a hostile takeover of happy non-instrumental (non-Legalistic) Churches of Christ.

Tyre as the happy harlot really designed the Temple in Jerusalem which was permitted after God turned Israel over to worship the starry host because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai. This is where Israel repeated the debauched musical idolatry of Egypt and why God put the Levites as an old Egyptian cult in charge of the curse of the sacrificial syste.  See the Mount Sinai missed by most pseudo scholars.
Jehovah, through Christ the Spirit, made it certain that HE was the only elohim which was true.  Jesus is Jehovah-saves.  At the same time the "gods" of the Jews at the cursed sacrificial system are named after the elohim.

Of the Ghebers at Hebro
n: "Genesis points to the Egyptian priests just as it was known to be in later times. The allies of Saturn were called Eloeim, the Jewish priests wer Loim or Luim (Levites), and Dionysus Luios or Luaios."
The Israelites continued to worship Saturn (666 in Chaldee) as defined in Amos.
ALL of the monarchy, king, temple, sacrificial system and the exorcism noise--never called music--was the EVIL THREAD of all nations consisting of the Civil-Military-Clergy complex. The Spirit of Christ who taught the Spiritual thread through the writing prophets--ONLY---called them robbers and parasites.  Jacob had warned us NOT to come into the assemblies of the tribe of Levi. And what does Milton Jones and Danny Corbitt do: they use the CURSED MONARCHY to say that God commanded us to "walk like the Levites" none of whom could enter or COME NEAR any holy thing without being executed.

As the Abomination of Desolation, it was this same god of Tyre called the singing and harp playing prostitute who is worshipped at the Temple.  Zeus was the FATHER of these temples including in Jerusalem. Dionysus was the SON. That is why Jesus was very careful to say that He embodied Father, Son and Spirit and on literate reader could miss the repudiation of a trinity of gods.
See in 2 Maccabees: The tensions which led to the Jewish revolt were exacerbated when the Jewish high priest, a Hellenist himself, offered a sacrifice to Heracles (Hercules) who was a Greek symbol of homosexuality. Riley adds,'The Jewish temple itself became the scene of pagan sacrificial meals and sexual orgies [including homosexuality].' The final insult (for which Antiochus is identified in the Bible as the archtype of the antichrist)'was the installation in the temple of a pagan symbol, possibly a representation of Zeus [Baal], called by a sardonic pun 'the abomination of desolation''

Clement Contra Heresies.
Hercules
, the son of Zeus-a true son of Zeus-was the offspring of that long night, who with hard toil accomplished the twelve labours in a long time, but in one night deflowered the fifty daughters of Thestius, and thus was at once the debaucher and the bridegroom of so many virgins.

It is not, then, without reason that the poets call him a cruel wretch and a nefarious scoundrel. It were tedious to recount his adulteries of all sorts,
and debauching of boys. For your gods did not even abstain from boys, homosexuals
one having loved Hylas, another Hyacinthus, another Pelops, another Chrysippus, and another Ganymede.

Let such gods as these be worshipped by your wives, and let them pray that their husbands be such as these-so temperate; that, emulating them in the same practices, they may be like the gods.

Such gods let your boys be trained to worship, that they may grow up to be men with the accursed likeness of fornication on them received from the gods. But it is only the male deities, perhaps, that are impetuous in sexual indulgence.

(Armstrong, Karen, A History of God, p. 67f)

The Jews of Palestine and the diaspora were surrounded by a Hellenic culture which some found disturbing,
but others were excited by Greek theater, philosophy, sport and poetry. They learned Greek, exercised at the gymnasium and took Greek names. Some fought as mercinaries in the Greek armies.
"Thus some Greeks came to know the God of Israel and decided to worship Yahweh (Iao) alongside Zeus and Dionysus.
Some were attracted to the synagogue... There they read scriptures, prayed and listened to sermons (explanations).
The synagogue was unlike anything else in the rest of the ancient religous world.
Since there was no ritual or sacrifice, it must have seemed more like a school of philosophy, and many flocked in the synagogue if a well-known Jewish preacher came to town...
"By the second century BC this hostility was entrenched: in Palestine there had even been a revolt when Antiochus Epiphanes, the Selucid governor, had attempted to Hellenize Jerusalem and introduce the cult of Zeus into the temple....This paganizing involved MUSIC and the GYMNASIUM: both directed to the body and senses.
When Jesus came the contemporaneous evidence proves that the expected Messiah was Dionysus: his legends are refuted point by point by Jesus in His spoke and acted parables (to fool the foolish clergy). Jesus identified the MEN of that generace as CHILDREN (the perverted music word).  This marked them as the operartives of Dionysus (the new wineskin god now):
Luke 7:29 And all the people that heard him, and the publicans,
justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

Luke 7:30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves,
        being not baptized of him.

Luke 7:31 And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
Luke 7:32 They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

They wanted Jesus and others to weep which is well documented as the ouchy of being "initiated" into the homosexual Dionysus gay brotherhood.

Thrêneôsing a dirge, wail, Mousai, aoidên, epôidas ib.582; humnousphthongous alurous.

The musical "worship" of the pagans and the temples were in the Agoras or marketplace. The PSALLO word's second major use is of the polluted red rope used to DRIVE those who dallied around the flute girls and boys in the Agora up to the Ekklesia in Athens.  The ekklesia, like the synagogue, was a word-only assembly and and singer or instrument player would be hurt.  Those who arrived with the PSALLO MARK were fined and not permitted to participate in the ekklesia.

Milton Jones says: "In the long ruin, Danny's love for the Lord as demonstrated here will release many people from the constraints of their past and free them to worship God in spirit and in truth. For this freedom, I am indeed grateful."

But, according to Charles Spurgeon, even beyond the pale ethics would prevent one so "liberated" from twisting all of the known evidence to confiscate another group's property and sow discord all around the country in the interest of commerce.

The sinful woman had no trouble understanding Jesus: Worship was at the PLACES of Jerusalem and in Gerezim. Worship IN SPIRIT is the PLACE which "now is" for all of those who attended synagogue.  In Truth does not permit lies.  The church in the wilderness is INCLUSIVE of Rest, reading and rehearsing the Word of God.  It was exclusive of "vocal and instrumental rejoicing."

PROOF THAT THE WOLVES ARE DRAGGING YOU OFF INTO THE WILDERNESS (theme of a Greek song)

BUILDING THE FOUNDATION: The people were Quarantined from Sacrificial System added as part of the worship of the starry host to which God had abandoned the nation.
  1. As a Covenant of Grace God gave The Book of the Covenant to govern the nation.
  2. Israel fell fatally from Grace because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.
  3. God turned them over to worship the starry host (Acts 7 and a dozen more passages)
  4. God burdened them with The Book of The Law and the Levites to "bear the burdens of sin."
  5. The Abrahamic Covenant was lost and the First Born sons replaced.
  6. No one not of Levi and not specificially ordained could COME NEAR the Tabernacle without sinning.
Because the false teachers REST on the curse of the Law and the Monarchy, the elders, preachers and artistic performers would die if they ventured in or near the area of animal slaughter.

Furthermore, no Levite, used as Warrior Noise makers a
nd later under the king and commanders of the army--could come near the holy places of the sanctury or they would be executed. The patternism is that if a musician enters into the body of Christ as fulfilment of the Holy Place he / she / it is worthy of death.

Num 18:2 And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister BEFORE the tabernacle of witness. [never IN]

Nadab and Abihu violates several commandments.

All of the non-Levites were called STRANGERS: therefore, if you were not of the tribe of Levi with the assignment to serve you could not even minister to the priests outside of the Temple-proper.  Therefore, no member of the "church" could come near the Tabernacle and none of the "ministers" could ENTER it.

"A stranger," that is, one, neither a priest nor a Levite, who should intrude into any departments of the sacred office, should incur the penalty of death. ROBERT JAMIESON

The sacrificial system was NEVER the spiritual worship but part of the WRATH DISPELLING curse imposed because of Musical idolatry.

Num 18:5 And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar:
that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.

Contrary to being a spiritual worship service, the sacrificial system had been imposed and if it were not performed it would bring down God's wrath as punishment due for NOT performing what they had been abandoned to.

Num 18:6 And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel:
to you they are given as a gift for the LORD,

Num 18:7 Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest’s office for every thing of the altar,
and within the veil; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest’s office unto you as a service of gift:

and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

"And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. Numbers 18:21

That also removes any modern cleric from imposing the tithe.

THE MEANING OF PARASITES MARKED BY THE PROPHETS BY THE SPIRITOF CHRIST

Because God had abandoned Israel to "worship the starry hosts" we understand that the Levites became a burden and not a blessing to the nation.

-Parasītus (parasitos,
“table companion”). A word which among the Greeks denoted originally the priest's assistant, who, like the priest, received his support from the offerings made to the temple, in return for certain services. These services included the collection and care of supplies of corn due to the temple, assistance at certain sacrifices, and the preparation of the banquets connected with [p. 1175] certain festivals. The assistants of civil officials, who were maintained at the expense of the State, were also called parasites in many places. The word received another meaning in the Middle and New Greek comedy, where it means the hanger on, who plays the flatterer and buffoon, with a view to getting invited to dinner. The parasite was transferred as a standing character to the Roman imitations of Greek comedy, and figures largely in the plays of Plautus. Good examples of the stage parasite will be found in his Captivi Menaechmi Phormio of Terence. See Know, Die Parasiten bei den Griechen and in the (1876). and

It is like an addiction. In fact, the mechanism of sacred violence is similar to taking drugs. The Greek word, pharmakos, that we might best translate as "scapegoat" (because it designated one who was expelled from the community), is obviously related to the Greek word for "drug," pharmakon

The idea is the same behind both. A drug is a poison that, given the right circumstance and precisely the right dosage, can also be a remedy. Sacred violence is a violence -- and violence is ordinarily poisonous to us -- that, given the right circumstance and precisely the right dosage, can also be a remedy against 'bad' mimetic violence.

Yet addiction builds as the system builds immunity to the drug. Addiction to sacred violence can escalate as the Gospel immunity to it builds within our systems.  René Girard

they erected a desolating sacrilege upon the altar of burnt offering.
They also built altars in the surrounding cities of Judah,

Notice in verse 59 that this desolating sacrilege could be another altar placed upon the regular altar for burnt offerings.

Of Dancing by the prophets of Jezebel:
"It was probably usual to welcome a king or general with music and dancing...The distinctly religious dance is more frequently mentioned. The clear instances of it in the Bible are the dance of the women of Israel at the Red Sea, headed by Miriam with her tambourine (Exodus 15:20); the dance of the Israelites round the golden calf (Exodus 32:19); the dance of the maidens of Shiloah at the annual feast (Judges 21:19 ff);

Gregory Nazianzen Mark of the
pipers, singers and dancers Jesus cosigned to the marketplace.
For what they worship as true, they veil as mythical. But if these things are true, they ought not to be called myths, but to be proved not to be shameful; and if they are false, they ought not to be objects of wonder; nor ought people so inconsiderately to hold the most contrary opinions about the same thing,  as if they were playing in the market-place with boys or really ill-disposed men, not engaged in discussion with men of sense, and worshippers of the Word, though despisers of this artificial plausibility..... Nor is our commemoration one of Dionysus, and the thigh that travailed with an incomplete birth, as before a head had travailed with another;13 nor of the hermaphrodite god, nor a chorus of the drunken and enervated host; nor of the folly of the Thebans which honours him; nor the thunderbolt of Semele which they adore. Nor is it the harlot mysteries of Aphrodite, [ZOE] who, as they themselves admit, was basely born and basely honoured; nor have we here Phalli and Ithyphalli,

The sacrificial system was imposed on the Levites as a curse or burden.

Num 18:23 But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation,
and they shall bear their iniquity:
it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations,
that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.

That this was a curse

To intrude into any departments of the sacred office, should incur the penalty of death. ROBERT JAMIESON. Again, note:

Num 18:4 And they shall be joined unto thee,
and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation,
        for all the service
[hard, legalistic bondage] of the tabernacle:
and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.

In 2 Chronicles 28 Hezekiah took the sacrifical team OUTSIDE of the walls where it was quarantined. This brought on a plague.

In 2 Chronicles 29 Hezekiah saw that the plague had caused everyone to leave the garbage left over by the Assyrian worship "with instruments."   Purely as a political effort--Hezekiah was king--He proposed a plague stopping animal slaughter.  During the process where the GOATS enjoyed the instruments of David while they burned as an offering for Israel which had already fallen into idolatry.  They cleaned out all of the instruments or vessels left over by the Assyrians but no Levite could go NEAR any holy place and the priests had to remove the garbage from ALL of the holy places.

This had the effect of calling most of the residual tribe of Judah INSIDE the city gates to be ready for an attack.

In 2 Chronicles 31 Manasseh took over and restored all of the musical madness connected with burning infants to Molech.

It was those called "the lying pen of the Scribes" who left this record but the Spirit of Christ under all of the prophets repudiated the entire "old style worship" which was musical and therefore idolatrous.

Amos 5:27 Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.

This was the sentence conditionally imposed because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.  Canaan as the promised land became the Killing Fields as God let the kings lead them into captivity and death.

Furthermore, all of the performing arts are identified as the Hypocritic arts and because they produced nothing good and caused lots of destruction of morals they were called PARASITES.

Why are people so anxious to impose the CURSE  of hypocrites and parasites.

NEHEMIAH IDENTIFYING THE PARASITES

The False preachers also missed that the Spirit OF Christ spoke ONLY through the prophets: it is a lie that the "holy spirit" guided the elders and preachers to lie about all of the Bible. The prophets thought that the kings, our princes, our priests, and  our fathers were lawless parasites.

So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would. Neh 9:24

And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance:
so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat,
and delighted
[became soft, lived voluptuously]
themselves in thy great goodness.
Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee,
and cast thy law behind their backs,
and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee,
and they wrought great provocations. Neh 9:26

THIS HAS HAPPENED ALL OVER: false teachers fall back to the Law to get authority to be a "king set over us" and absolutely silence the Spirit of Christ speaking through the prophets.  Maybe it is time, with Nehemiah and Jesus, to declare that the rascals are parasites and cast them out.

Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies, wherewith thou didst testify against them. Neh 9:34

For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works. Neh 9:35

Behold, we are servants this day, [and so are you]

and for the land that thou gavest unto our fathers to eat the fruit thereof and the good thereof,
behold, we are servants in it: Neh 9:36

And it yieldeth
much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us

        because of our sins

also they have dominion over our bodies, and over our cattle,
        at their pleasure
and we are in great distress. Neh 9:37

Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard,
they have trodden my portion under foot,
they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness
Jer. 12:10

They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns
they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit:
and they shall be ashamed of your revenues
because of the fierce anger of the Lord. Je.12:13

That is THE meaning of having a Senior Pastor set over you with no Biblical nor common sensical justification.

Justin Martyr b 110

Chapter XXII.-So Also Were Sacrifices and Oblations.

"And that you may learn that it was for the sins of your own nation,
and for their idolatries
and
not because there was any necessity for such sacrifices ,
that they were likewise enjoined, listen to the manner in which He speaks of these by Amos,
one of the twelve, saying:

`Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is this day of the Lord for you?

It is darkness and not light, as when a man flees from the face of a lion, and a bear meets him; and he goes into his house, and leans his hands against the wall, and the serpent [devil] bites [stings with tithes] him. Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness and not light, even very dark, and no brightness in it? I have hated, I have despised your feast-days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies:

wherefore, though ye offer Me your burnt-offerings and sacrifices, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace-offerings of your presence.

Take thou away from Me the multitude of thy songs and psalms; I will not hear thine instruments. BUT, let judgment be rolled down as water, and righteousness as an impassable torrent.

NOTHING HAS CHANGED

Speaking of dominant pastors now replacing the elders and firing the deacons:

"The pastor is not a necessity. He is a FUNGUS GROWTH upon the church, the body of Christians, DWARFING its growth, PREVENTING its development of its members; and until the church GETS RID of him it will NEVER prosper as it should. In the Bible we can find all the necessities.

"I can testify from my own observation that a good eldership will lose its efficiency, and its members become both UNABLE and UNWILLING to do the work of elders, in a very few years after the employment of a pastor. And if under the pastor system a good eldership has ever developed, I have never seen or heard of the case. I don't believe that has or ever will be done." --James A. Harding, Gospel Advocate, May 20, 1885

Of all of those professional parasites: When God pours out His wrath, this is the mark.

-Balatro
A professional jester, buffoon, or parasite. In spite of the difference of quantity, balatro is probably connected with balare (to bleat like a sheep) and hence, to speak foolishly. It is donbtless also akin to blatero, a chatterer (Gell.i. 15). Balatrones were paid for their jests, and the tables of the wealthy were generally open to them for the sake of the amusement they afforded. See Scurra; Parasitus.

-Scurra

The old Dionysus at Mount Sinai had his disciples initiated with sodomy: the ouchy sounds Jesus refused to make as the PIPERS sent the secret signal.

John Chrysostom proves that this was a CURSE and was quarantined ONLY to Jerusalem and then for a very short time.

Do ye hear how it is most plainly declared, that God did not from the first require these at your hands? Had He required them, He would have obliged those famous saints who were before the Law to observe this practice.  Then wherefore has He permitted it now?
In condescension to your infirmity. As a physician in his treatment of a delirious patient, etc.: thus did God likewise. For seeing them so frantic in their lust for sacrifices, that they were ready, unless they got them, to desert to idols: nay not only ready, but that they had already deserted, thereupon He permitted sacrifices. And that this is the reason, is clear from the order of events.

After the feast which they made to the demons, then it was that He permitted sacrifices: all but saying: `Ye are mad, and will needs sacrifice:  well then, at any rate sacrifice to Me. "But even this, He did not permit to continue to the end, but by a most wise method, withdrew them from it

For He did not permit it to be done in any place of the whole world,

but in Jerusalem only.
Anon, when
for a short time they had sacrificed,
he destroyed the city.

Had He openly said, Desist, they, such was their insane passion for sacrificing, would not readily have complied. But now perforce, the place being taken away, He secretly withdrew them from their frenzy." So here: "Even the captivity impeaches the wickedness (which was the cause of the permission of sacrifice.")

THE USE OF PSALLO IN THE GREEK TRANSLATION

Never let anyone hid the fact that because of Musical idolatry at Mount Sinai, God abandoned the Levi tribe to worship the starry host.  The kings used the Levites as warrior or panic musicians.  In the case of David's cunning playing on the harp, we know that this was a political move recorded by the king's scribes and NOT by the prophets inspired by the Spirit of Christ.  When God totally abandoned Saul the result the result was prophesying.  David was brought in to soothe or charm Saul but used his musical skills to drive him in and out of madness.  David later would destroy all of Saul's viable DNA including giving one up for human sacrifice.
From Liddel and Scott which links to the actual uses but DOES NOT DEFINE

-Psallo:  A

II. mostly of the strings of musical instruments, play a stringed instrument with the fingers, and not with the plectron,
First reference is Judges 5:3 LXX
Judg. 5:1 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,
Judg. 5:2 Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.
Judg. 5:3 Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes;
        I, even I, will SING unto the LORD;
I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel.

Here you psallo with your MOUTH which in song or psalmost is the first instrument of choice.

Always, what is to be plucked MUST BE named.  Psallo does not mean 'Play on a harp." Psallo means touch or pluck.  Harp defines WHAT isa to be plucked.
1Sam. 16:16 Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee,
        to seek out a man,
        who is a cunning [1] player [
psallere] on an [2] harp: [cithara]

and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee,
        that he shall
[1] play [psallat] with his [1] hand [manu], and thou shalt be well.
That's good: you are bound to play with your fingers and NOT with a plectrum. The word psallo turns and bites you if you pick a guitar or use any other musical instrument.  You can psallo with a bow or pluck out the elder's hair.

The word hear can be used in a good or evil sense: knowing can mean in a sexual sense or in some kind of "seeing beyond the sacred page."

CUNNING carries some of the meaning of enchantment: David needed Saul to go away. Remember that his job involved the worship of the starry host and he had no hesitation in making sure all of Saul's viable DNA was slaughtered even one as a human sacrifice. David confesed to making himself vile with the camp following girls: his playing and dancing proves that he was enacting some kind of cosmic performance since his nation worshipped the starry host.  His ephod is defined as a stole with a hole in it and represents the Babylonian vulva.

This was rough politics and not a WORSHIP SERVICE.  In the Greek world cunning includes:

See the rest of Psallo in the LXX to prove that the word is translated SING except in the case of Saul driving Saul mad.

Those promoting instrumental music in the SCHOOL OF CHRIST are driven to the patternism of Worshiping the Starry Host. The Scribes define the record of the curse of the Monarchy and the sacrificial system and we are warned about "the lying pen of the Scribes." We understand that the record is accurate but NOT a patternism for legalistic "worship."

However, they all miss the Prophets by whom the Spirit of Christ who all repudiate the Civil-Military-Clergy complex as robbers and parasites.  They all connect the musical instruments with hunger and thirst for the Word so that they all went into captivity and death.

Psalm.Delitzsch.Psalm.html

Moreover, we must take into consideration the facts that the compass of the tenor extends even into the soprano, that the singers were of different ages down to twenty years of age, and that Oriental, and more particularly even Jewish, song is fond of falsetto singing. We therefore adopt Perret- Gentil's rendering, chant avec voix de femmes, and still more readily Armand de Mestral's, en soprano; whereas Melissus' rendering, "upon musical instruments called Alamoth (the Germans would say, upon the virginal)," has nothing to commend it.

"The name of psaltery entered Christian literature in the 3rd century B.C. translation of the Old Testament called the Septuagint where, in the Psalms, nebel was translated psalterion. The Modern mark of the theatrics and music radically outlawed by Paul as SELF pleasure in Romans 15 means:

"Of particular interest is the way that early modern playwrights, music theorists, and theater apologists addressed this conflated language of the "enemy," by echoing the same connections between sexuality and playing found in the most virulent antitheatrical tracts.  "As this paper will demonstrate, by "playing" with the conflated language, these writers defended their art,

justifying their existence in a society that was both seduced and repulsed by them. By claiming the polemical antitheatrical language, these players escaped from the ideological margins to which their opponents had tried to relegate them.
Using the artifices of mimesis (imitation) and comedy they pointed out and

defused their opponents' anxieties about music, theater, and sexuality,
creating a space for players in the cultural mainstream."
PROOF OF MAKING WAR WHERE MUSIC WAS A HOMOSEXUAL THREAT

1 Chr 25:1  David, together with the commanders of the army, set apart some of the sons of Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun for the ministry of prophesying, accompanied by harps, lyres and cymbals. Here is the list of the men who performed this service:

Payne insists that the Hebrew of 1 Chronicles 25:1 unambiguously identifies these leaders as military commanders, an interpretation favoured by several Bible translations. (Payne, p 423-4; NASB, NIV, NKJV, NRSV, Jerusalem Bible) If military commanders had a particular interest in the appointment of musicians, it suggests a strong link between music and warfare

The "trinity" at Mount Sinai to which the NOBILITY were abandoned while the common people attended synagogue or school of the Bible even in the wilderness was Osiris, Isis and baby Horus.

Apis the golden calf or calves represented Osiris, Isis and Horus: the pagan trinity of father, mother and son.

Horus was the posthumous son and heir of the god Osiris, the primordial king and giver of life. He was invited by his uncle, Seth, to spend a day. Seth’s real motive was not to show him hospitality but to disqualify him from inheriting his father’s royal power. To this end, while Horus slept Seth committed an act of sodomy upon him. Since sodomy was inflicted as a punishment on a defeated enemy and was a symbol of domination, Seth could then claim that he had conquered Horus and demand the kingship in his place.

PROOF OF MADNESS

Ex 15:20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand;
and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances
.

Here is what Miriam really did:

Here is what God thought of her "revelations"
Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do. Deut 24:8

Remember what the Lord thy God did unto Miriam by the way, after that ye were come forth out of Egypt. Deut 24:9

Here is what Miriam did which was common to what the Israelites did in Egypt and never ceased to do.

Look down, oh Isis! on the teeming fair,

the sacred rattles were there, and Osiris, known
the constant object of his worshipers' desire,
and there the Egyptian serpent whose quick sting
gives long-enduring sleep. She seemed to see
them all, and even to hear the goddess say
to her, "O Telethusa, one of my
remembered worshipers, forget your grief;
your husband's orders need not be obeyed;
and when Lucina has delivered you,
save and bring up your child, if either boy

"The music during the transferring the Ark to Sion (David rose up to play)
and the
dances of the women at the Shiloh (Judges 21:21), were similar to the Egyptian liturgy and parades.

"As Herodotus reports, women sang the praises of Osiris while liknesses of the gods were born about and, during the festival of Diana at Bubastis.

See Ezekiel explaining.

Remembering that God had turned the Elite over to worship the starry host BECAUSE of musical idolatry (Acts 7 etal), we know that the temple was "like the nations" because that is what they wanted and God gave it to them PROMISING them that the king would take their young men to make INSTRUMENTS OF CHARIOTS and run before them in war blowing the war trumpets.  They were not PROPHETS and the Spirit of Christ spoke ONLY through the writing prophets.  Therefore,

"The Hithpa'el of nb', in the ancient texts, refers to ecstasy and delirium rather than to the emission of a 'prophecy'." (de Vaux, Roland, The Bible and the Ancient Near East, p. 243 Doubleday

"Maniac inspirations, the violent possession which threw sibyls and priestesses into contortions--the foaming lip and streaming hair and glazed or glaring eyes-- have no place in the self-controlling dignity of Christian inspiration. Even Jewish prophets, in the paroxysm of emotion, might lie naked on the ground and rave (1 Sam. xix. 24); but the genuine inspiration in Christian ages never obliterates the self-consciousness or overpowers the reason. It abhors the hysteria and stimulation and frenzy which have sometimes disgraced revivalism and filled lunatic asylums." (Pulpit Commentary, 1 Cor., p. 460).

THE THREAT OF HALAL (PRAISE), THE EFFEMINATE AND LUCIFER

Under the King and Commanders of the army the PRAISE word means to MAKE YOURSELF VILE as a sexual threat. It still is and that may explay why most preachers are reluctant to stand up and face these ZOE or LUCIFER people.

This book is mostly about Danny and his struggles as all musically gifted are convinced that God needs their talent for that short period God designed as REST specificially from the usual pagan rituals on the Sabbath including collecting the tithe. However, it is playing on a stringless (acordos) instrument if you are not a disciple of the Word of God which uses music as a MARK of those who tell God to shut His face while they improvise theri own songs and sermons.  This begins in the garden of Eden with the singing and harp playing prostitute as the meaning of the SERPENT and ends in Revelation when the Babylon mother of harlots uses "lusted after fruits" as slick speakers, singers and instrument players.  John calls them sorcerers who HADED deceived the whole world.  It is the sorcerers and dogs (old stle praise singers) for whom God comes with ten thousands of His saints to take them to the lake of fire.

I will look at the total misunderstanding by Danny Corbitt when he askes
What Happened to Praise when Jesus Came?

No Bible student would ever say that God changed His mind for the New Covenant.  There are no LAWS ADDED to the Church of Christ. The direct command as the synagogue or school of the Bible is to SPEAK the Biblical text with the singing and melody in the PLACE of the human heart.

The command was not to primarily SING but to SPEAK for the purpose of teaching and admonishing one another.  Singing as a ACT was imposed from the same Babylonia area in the year 373 and split the east and west churches.  Even so, singing does not deliberately sow discord.  So, congregational singing was not IMPOSED on anyone since the Reformation.  Before that the Catholics never sang congregationally with organ accompaniment.  None of the Restoration groups used instruments because they would be DIVISIVE or were CONDEMNED.  It was only after the Civil war and the northern groups went home with full carpetbags that the building and organ war began IN THE NORTH.

THE DISCIPLES AUTHORITY

When the Church of Christ which had never in history used instruments refused to be NUMBERED with the Disciples sowing musical discord, the Christian Church was called DISCIPLES.  If there is such a lust to unity then the Christian Church is BOUND to UNITE with the Disciples of Christ.  Otherwise, it is truly Satanic to accuse the Church of Christ of being a sectarian division of the Christian Church and caused DISUNITY by not BEGINNING to do what they had never done under the 2000 year history called The Church of Christ.

Because Milton Jones tips his hand by the use of "strict construction" he really has no need to justify his acting up by the Bible. The Disciples Credo is:

Richard L. Hamm defining the authority of the Disciples: The first is Scripture, which for Christians means, of course, the Holy Bible (which is to say the whole Bible: the Hebrew and Christian testaments).

The second is reason and the third is experience. We Disciples are quite appreciative of these sources. Our movement was born within the philosophical context of

John Locke who said that truth can be known through reason tempered with experience.
In this
secular age in which we live, I'm afraid that many of us have increasingly depended on these two sources alone, but reason and experience are two valuable sources for understanding God.

No, John Locke never said that. What he said was that Christianity was reasonable once it was revealed but the best of human reasoning could never discover or aid the discover of truth.

In The Reasonableness of Christianity, John Locke put the focus on revealed truth and not on any other thing. Anything which we can EXPERIENCE or our HUMAN REASON are the products of a fallible human which is USUALLY WRONG. If human reason suggests something like the trinity or pagan music as worship do we trust the Bible or do we trust our own feelings.

The fourth is tradition. The Church has learned some things in the past two thousand years (that's right, the Church learned some things even before Alexander Campbell!). By looking to the Church's tradition (its history, its declarations, its collective wisdom) one can learn much about the nature of God and the nature of humankind. As the sage has said, one who does not learn history is doomed to repeat it. Studying the church's tradition is a way for us to learn some things the easy way!

The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the Living God,

uses these four sources of revelation to teach us who God is and who we are.

So, the big lie is outed: it is Milton Jones speaking Disciples theology who confessed to using RATIONAL REASONING, TRADITIONALISM and the practices of a CHANGED CULTURE.  They also INVENTED the Law of Silence to give THEM the right to impose their PREFERENCE after which it became The Word of Christ. Then YOU must conform or GET OUT of your property: Milton Jones did that as a creedal Disciple. The Church of Christ needs no LAW to continue to do what they have done for 2000 years.

The Christian Church was the Disciples in 1906 when The Church of Christ said NO, you cannot confiscate us as your members.
The Christian Church did not begin to SECTARIAN out until 1927 and they were NOT DIScounted in the census in 1971. So to claim that the Church of Christ SECTED OUT of the Christian church and uset the "unity" over instruments is--on my good days--a bald faced lie used by all of the wolves stealing sheep to "eat" them and craunch their bones.

DID THE CHURCH OF CHRIST FORCE GOD TO CHANGE HIS MIND

One of the biggest lies which has entrapped Danny with a lot of help from a friend? is that God COMMANDED instrumental praise as the PATTERNISM for the worship of the Jews.  Since He did not change His mind then instrumental praise is still in effect.  No one says that you have had to read the Old Testament to be a preacher.  If you do not have the foundation of the Christian Faith which demands a strong moral base promoting musical "worship" may just be based on family pressure usually of a female kind lusting to PERFORM.
  1. No "congregational" assembly ever met for WORSHIP and held a praise service with singing and instrumental music. Never ever.  During a plagues stopping animal slaughter which might be spaced almost 300 years from the last one, the "congregation" consisted of the King, priests to slaughter and Levites ONLY during the burning of the GOATS time.  The SPIRITUAL THREAD was warned to be OUTSIDE of the GATES by the loud noise.  The only worship word meant to fall on your face.
  2. The ABANDONED sacrificial system made NOISE and PRAISE meant to make yourself vile or insane which was in all ancient cultures a threat to the gods that you might take your business elsewhere.
  3. Those not of the tribe of Levi whose Assemblies Jacob told you NOT TO ATTEND, met in small groups in the Church beginning in the wilderness. Both vocal and instrumental rejoicing was OUTLAWED.
  4. So there is NO worship services in the Old Testament using music: slaughtering innocent animals used exorcism noise to "make the lambs dumb before the slaughter."
  5. The synagogue never changed and there were said to be thousands of synagogues in and around Jerusalem where ten mature males could call the synagogue to PREACH the word by READING the Word--only. Even preaching was outlawed.
  6. Therefore, you are REQUIRED to have Jesus COMMAND you to do what He commanded you NOT to do in the Church of Christ in the wilderness under the Spirit of Christ.
BACK TO EGYPT, MOUNT SINAI AND THE LOSS OF GRACE AND ABANDONMENT TO THE SACRIFICIAL SYSTEM.

God rescued Israel from Egypt by pure grace because His righteousness would have left them there to self destruct because they were more evil than the other nations.

They fell into musical idolatry at Mount Sinai and God abandoned them and turned them over to a LEGALISTIC mediator. They were made dumb and blind and could not read the Old Testament until Jesus came and they turned, converted or were baptized into Christ.

The musical idolatry at Mount Sinai had its counterparts in Babylon, Canaan, Egyhpt and Greece.  God had abandoned the NOBILITY to rune the Civil-Military-Clergy complex and "worship the starry host.

The Spirit of Christ in the Prophets and some Psalms looks back to prove that God BURDENED them with the NOBILITY because of their sin and they are called robbers and parasites.  All musicians were identified as parasites.

THE QAHAL, SYNAGOGUE OR CHURCH IN THE WILDERNESS (THE CHURCH OF CHRIST

The assembly for the common people was the synagogue and was never called except for instruction in the Word of God delivered from Moses to the elders, sub elders and then to small groups which NEVER CEASED and always outlawed MUSIC even when common decency would prevent Simple Simon from making music when God is present.

When Jesus came the sacrificial system had been dead for hundreds of years and the temple was manned by mercinaries probably mostly Edomites or the RACE OF VIPERS.

No citizen could be inside the WALLS when the loud exorcism noise was made in earlier sacrifices.

The people attended and Jesus participated in the Synagogue which was ALWAYS the lace where worship was held in Paul's universal meaning of worship to "give heed to the Word of God."

Because musical rejoicing was OUTLAWED for the synagogue and the ekklesia of Christ continued as the synagogue in Paul's writings, you would have had to COMMAND the use of instruments and violate the Spirit of Christ in the wilderness.

Numbers 10:[7]  But when the assembly is to be gathered together,
        you shall blow,
but you shall not sound an alarm.

JOHN CALVIN'S WITNESS

This was exactly what the NOBILITY restored as God totally abandoned them to kings to carry out the captivity and death sentence.

THAT PATTERNISM OF EKKLESIA OR SYNAGOGUE NEVER CHANGED AT ANY TIME IN THE BIBLE.
Acts 15:21 For Moses
        of old time hath
        in every city
        them that preach him,
        being read in the synagogues
        every sabbath day.
ONLY the Levites who were old pagan clergy in Egypt were under the KING and COMMANDERS of the army AFTER the elders fired God and demanded a king like the nations so they could worship like the nations. That is the goyim including Babylonian worship, Canaan worship, Egyptian worship, Greek worship and others MARKED by music and perversion.

The Levites could not go NEAR any holy thing especially the Holy Place as a TYPE of the body or church of Christ: it included ONLY the bread of fellowship, the Menorah or seven spirits of Divine knowledge and the incense altar looking into the Most Holy place.  In TYPE a musician who went into the type of the Church of Christ would be executed.

How can a pseudo Levite stand in the holy place (the podium or bema) and CLAIM to be God by claiming to "lead you into the presence of God." They too have been terminated spiritually based on all recorded evidence.

ARE THOSE WHO DON'T USE INSTRUMENTS PREVENTING UNITY WITH OTHERS

Well, probably, yes. But, the meaning of the ELECT is that Jesus calls you OUT from the massed multitudes to be a faithful but tiny remnant people devoted to the only meaning of worship which is to give attention to Jesus and HIS Word when we gather or synagogue together.  Even simple people grasp that you don't make musical noise when Jesus gives us rest FROM this anxiety creating activity so we can "come learn of Him." But it is not honest to blame those who have NEVER fell into what is known as idolatry as the lust of the eyes and lust of the years for thse past 2,000 years.  If someone IMPOSES "machines for doing hard work" then they are being EXCLUSIVE and preventing unity.

Danny Corbitt uses the usual Romans 14 demanding that we "accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters." Romans 14.

That's Good but the text reads.

Rom. 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

That means that private opinions are not allowed or private practices. The job of the assembly is contrary to the pagan worship centers where music was and is destructive to the emotional health of may people. You nurture people in order to teach them the Word of God and you cannot go beyond that which is written without deliberately violating this common decency for a fraction of the people.
What is commanded to be excluded:
Dialogismos often means the perverse, vain thinking which contemplates destruction. It was used to describe the reasoning of those who thought themselves wise (Ro 1:21, 1Cor 3:20)

NIDNTT notes that.. The thoughts of the human heart do not necessarily lead, as the Greeks thought, to a knowledge of the truth (cf. 1 Cor. 1:21-25), but are evil (Mk. 7:21; Matt. 15:19), full of doubt and suspicion (Mk. 2:6, 8; Lk. 5:22; 6:8), moved by the passing moment (Lk. 3:15), full of greed (Lk. 12:17; 20:14), always concerned with the superficial (Mk. 8:16f.; Matt. 16:7f.) and full of sly calculation (Matt. 11:25; Mk. 11:31).

The Exegetical Dictionary notes that...

Even when dialogismos has a specialized use, the essential connection with the general NT meaning of doubting or calculating consideration is retained. (Balz, H. R., & Schneider, G. . Exegetical Dictionary of the New Testament. Grand Rapids, Mich.: Eerdmans)

Luke illustrates the uses of dialogismos...

But Jesus, aware of their reasonings (dialogismos), answered and said to them, "Why are you reasoning (dialogizomai = verb form) in your hearts? (Luke 5:22) (Comment: In the majority of occurrences of the verb dialogizomai is used for the deliberations of Jesus’ opponents, Mk 2:6, 8,  or the interpersonal deliberations of the disciples, Mk 8:16ff)

But He (Jesus) knew what they (his opponents) were thinking (dialogismos), and He said to the man with the withered hand, "Rise and come forward!" And he rose and came forward. (Luke 6:8)

Rom. 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

While people could be judgmental based on where the people bought their food in the markets, Paul said that that which connected to the flesh was not part of the kingdom of peace.  At the same time all of the sects in Rome were highly addicted to the use of instruments to drive themselves into a frenzy. Then as now people associated the effects on the pleasure centers as proof that the gods were living inside of you.

Jay Guin's take on Romans 14
Ronnie Normans Take on Romans 14.

"Instruments, especially flutes and drums, were used to induce ecstasy, or frenzy, in the worshippers of certain deities. The devotees of Thracian Dionysus (Bacchus) engaged in orgies at night. Members of the society were seized with a divine madness as they danced to the music and would seize an animal who was believed to be the incarnation of the god, tear the body limb from limb, and eat it on the spot. By this sacred communion they hoped to attain union with their god and themselves become Baccoi. There was a wave of Bacchic enthusiasm that swept Italy in 185 B.C. and created such a scandal that it was sternly repressed by the Roman senate." (Green, William M., The Church Fathers and Musical Instruments" unpublished paper, p. 32).

Sounding Brass and Tinkling Cymbals

"cymbalum': cymbala were hollow hemispheres of metal a few inches in diameter, held one in each hand by the aid of small rings or thongs attached to the center of their convex surfaces. Struck together, they gave a sharp, clanging sound that fitted well with that of the tympana and tibiæ; cf. Catul. 64.262 ``tereti tenuis tinnitus ære ciebant''; Ov. Fast. 4.184 ``æra tinnitus ære epulsa dabunt''; Ov. Fast. 4.189 ``sonus æris acuti''; Aus. Epist. 24.23 ``tinnitus atinnitus aëni.eumlaut;ni.''

"It was probably usual to welcome a king or general with music and dancing...The distinctly religious dance is more frequently mentioned. The clear instances of it in the Bible are the dance of the women of Israel at the Red Sea, headed by Miriam with her tambourine (Ex 15:20); the dance of the Israelites round the golden calf (32:19); the dance of the maidens of Shiloah at the annual feast (Jgs 21:19 ff); the leaping or limping of the prophets of Baal round their altar on Carmel (1 K 18:26); and the dancing of David in front of the ark (2 S 6:14-16) (Int. Std. Bible Ency., p. 1169-70).

"This membranophone, translated in the AV as 'timbrel' and 'tabret,' was not permitted in the Temple, although it was mentioned in the Psalter and in religious hymns" (Ps 150:4; Jer. 31:4) Harrison, Into to OT, p. 988).

Of the tambourine or tabret, Smith's Bible Dictionary notes that&emdash;

"It was used in very early times by the Syrians of Padan-aram at their merry-making (Gen. 31:27). It was played principally by women (Ex. 15:20); Judg. 11:34; 1 Sam. 18:6; Psa lxvii:25 as an accompaniment to the song and dance, and appears to have been worn by them as an ornament (Jer. 31:4)... It is beat with the fingers, and is the Trye tympanum of the ancients, as appears from its figure in several relieves, representing the orgies of Bacchus and rites of Cybele." (Smiths Bible Dictionary, Timbrel)

An idea common in Shamanism for instance. Originally, the followers of Dionysus were women only. The Bacchae or Maenads, were, and are, the female devotees of Dionysus. The word bakkhos (masculine) or bakkh (feminine) means someone who has been possessed by the god, who literally has the god within. (The word entheos, meaning "having the god [= theos] within," is the root of our word enthusiasm.) The feminine plural of this word, bakkhai, is Latinized as "bacchae," hence the Bacchae. See also The Retinue of Dionysus.

The MEAT mark would be in the Agora or marketplace: where Jesus consigned the pipers, singers and dancers. Paul outlaws doubtful disputations which is ANYTHING which arises out of human opinion.  It has no place in the synagogue defined in Romans 15..

Cicero 1 11 My dear Tullia's ill-health and weakness frightens me to death. I gather that you are shewing her great attention, for which I am deeply grateful.

Horace 1.9.
"We do not live there in the manner you imagine; there is not a house that is freer or more remote from evils of this nature. It is never of any disservice to me, that any particular person is wealthier or a better scholar than I am: every individual has his proper place."

"You tell me a marvelous thing, scarcely credible."

"But it is even so."
"You the more inflame my desires to be near his person."

"You need only be inclined to it: such is your merit, you will accomplish it: and he is capable of being won; and on that account the first access to him he makes difficult."

"I will not be wanting to myself; I will corrupt his servants with presents; if I am excluded to-day, I will not desist; I will seek opportunities; I will meet him in the public streets; I will wait upon him home. Life allows nothing to mortals without great labor."

The Self-pleasure in Romans 15 points directly to all of the performing or hypocritic practices which "create mental excitement." This word in the Greek and Latin points to any group agreement imposed on others or any of the theatrical practices.

DOES THE "MUSICAL" PASSAGES EXCLUDE THE USE OF INSTRUMENTS

Since we have shown that they were excluded for the Church in the Wilderness and no one violated that as far as I can determine, the question would be "Do these passages INCLUDE the use of instruments." The answere is NO.  Understanding the meaning of words means that instruments are OUTLAWED and there is no "tuneful" concept in any of Paul's writings.
