Dr. Rubel Shelly to instruct at Rochester College graduate program in Christian ministry. Words have meaning! It is very important that they be DEFINED. Because of the planned use of "code words" by the change movement, it is never quite certain just what is intended. However, the words do not seem accidential. The well documented "trails" of this movement by a band of pseudo-scholars, reminds one of the ancient and modern secret societies which brought all of the religious and political wars on the Reformation in a semingly-just childish but dangerously sinster game of GROUP MENTALITY as promoted by Rubel Shelly and John York. It appears that Rochester is Shelly's last place of refuge because when you tamper with the Word God sends you strong delusions and the sermons and books sound anti-Scriptural and far deluded. Shelly believs that all truth evaporated--apparently being shot off the page by evolved eye balls as he lifts ancient Greek views--and we are destitute. However, he and York intend to "work out our own salvation which they--as their creed--means work out a NEW SET of truths. Why? Why because OUR culture has changed. Shelly and all who have latched on to what began as a prank called postmodernism and using the Heisenberg Uncertainty principle--which applies when Rubel approached the speed of Lighg--we can be CERTAIN of absolutely nothing but his claim to "hear audible voices" along with Max Lucado's seeing visions.
MISSIONAL AND MUSIC
Men like Max Lucado spin off money and people from the MOTHER CHURCH to daughter churches or "campus." Even where music has not been forced into mainline churches, the "daughters" will use music as an "attractant." This is consistent with the Jubal or Genun story and The Book of Enoch where Satan used the "youth" to use music to seduce people away from the Living Word. In the end time the singers and musicians as SORCERERS will deceive the whole world and the "candles" will be removed (Rev 17-18).

If APEPT sounds like ADEPT we should not be surprized. Having lost the "olden text" Rubel Shelly claims that we must "partner with God" to work our our own NARRATIVE for OUR culture.
Burning Man is not just a bad day in Black Rock, but "a cry from an emerging postmodern generation for a community of belonging, spirituality, sensuality, empowerment and liberation." The authors note that "unless the church recovers its role as a subversive, missionary movement, no one who has been to Black Rock will be the least bit interested in it."
At ACU Carroll D. Osburn claimed to be defeating the CONSERVATIVES by training preachers as Prophets, Channellers and Facilitators. People use words in different ways but many have taught that the church should have APOSTLES and PROPETS.

The Shaping of Things to Come: Innovation and Mission for the 21 Century Church
Part One "The Shape We're In"
1. Evolution or Revolution?
Neither: John Calvin called his reformation a Restoration Movement. The only task is to test all faith and practice by the Inspired Word of God. While Rubel Shelly denies that the Bible contains any such ideas we have collected many from the Bible and ALL church scholars and founders of denominations. It would be a REVOLUTION if the church dispensed with its "professionals" and returned to be a synagogue or school of the Bible. That was exactly what Thomas Campbell and others envisioned for JUST CUTTING off everything which did not contribute to being A School of Christ.
2. The Missional Church
As a passionate participant in (and observer of) the Church, I see God raising up 'missional communities' that can influence 'from the margins.' I can't remember where I first heard the term 'missional communities', or I'd give the person credit. But the picture it paints in my mind is a group of people who are highly intentional about truly obeying Jesus' commands so as to increasingly be like him. The individuals pursuing this life-goal are in community [COMMUNE]. They live out their new, loving, powerful kingdom reality not as 'Lone Ranger Christians' (going about their work-a-day life isolated except for an hour on Sunday), but non-negotiably as a vital part of a group of Christ-followers.
That includes Apostles, Prophetsx and SHEPHERDING or DISCIPLING ministers to keep you in COMMUNE 7 nights a week if they can gety by with it. That demands that "individuals do not have the right to READ, INTERPRET OR SPEAK the Word of God OUTSIDE of the COMMUNE reading." That, of course, means that the SCHOLARS who now become APOSTLES and PROPHETS do the interpreting.
Resource Eddie Gibbs, professor of church growth at Fuller Theological Seminary states that, "The church in the twenty-first century must be one which empowers its members, is faithful to the gospel and has a growing understanding of its radical and subversive nature."
Carroll D. Osburn ex-ACU and others will become EX promoted Prophets training Chanellers and Facilitators to CHANGE the old conservatives. He quotes with favor the CHANGE AGENT scam which is drying up. He quotes with app;arent approval:
"Feminist hermeneutics stands over against patriarchal hermeneutics" its goal achieved
"by small, often unnoticed acts of subversion. Numerous such incremental changes, like erosion, will eventually bring down the fortress " ( p. 32).A missional church seeks to incorporate its members into being part of a larger purpose,
encouraging them as subversives,
giving them tools to engage their culture,
teaching them how to bridge and interact with culture, s
etting a biblical agenda for holy living,
fostering spiritual formation, developing spiritual giftedness,
encourage social action, and serving in community. Thus, it attacks the demons of postmodernism: atomization, isolation, relativism, secularism, anti-supernaturalism, and apathy. It invites outsiders to a journey within a Christian community.
That was what Adolph Hitler claimed where the intellectual leaders (called by God) dominate the human material. That was built upon Le Bon and Machiavelli (quoted by Shelly). This was the Pink Swastka which saw a sexually-bonded group of males something like the phallic Journey of PK.
It also engages the outside world using relationships, rather than business tools (i.e. marketing, advertising, and entertainment). A missional community intentionally works under the authority of Christ to accomplish the Great Commission. Eddie Gibbs again says, "In postmodern society, church leaders ... must be apostolic in that they are venturing into new territory as well as reclaiming lost ground to bring people to Christ and to multiply missional communities. The confidence, technique-based ability to manage the present and face the future have been replaced by the need to seek God's wisdom and strength afresh for the novel and unanticipated challenges that face us in our ministries." Missional communities simple seek leaders who think and act apostolically, rather than like a CEO.
3. The Incarnational Approach
This interpretation is illustrated by appeal in these traditions to Chalcedonian christology whereby the Church, like the God-man, is the mysterious union of the divine and human natures in the eternal person of Christ.
Taken to this extent, the incarnation as an analogy of the church is acceptable to Protestants; there is a divine and human component in the Church's gatherings. But Catholics and Orthodox raise the stakes in their use of incarnation theology to make the claim that the union of divine and human in the Church actually makes a new single acting subject: one person with two natures. The immanence of Christ with his people through the Holy Spirit is the mechanism for this claim as Christ's spirit is literally fashioned as the soul of the body, the Church. Through the Spirit, Christ is organically united to his body, the Church, so that he is with her totus Christus, caput et membra, ("the whole Christ, head and members").
Of the another Comforter Spirit Jesus said "I" will come to you: John identifies that ONLY mediator/intercessor as Jesus Christ the Righteous. Of course, the CHANGELINGS have imitated the Pope in importing A Capella (goat singers) and actually the first CLAIM I read was from Rubel Shelly: They chan help "lead you into the presence of God." Just in time for the Babylon Harlot of Revelation where the singers, musicians and rhetoricians were called SORCERERS by John.
Of course, we Bible readers understand that Jesus promised to build his EKKLESIA or synagogue or school of the Bible. Paul's word for assembly or gathering is a form of SYNAGOGUE. For instance, "there was no praise service in the synagogue" as both history and common sense understands.
Paul's UNIQUE worship word was to give heed to Christ by giving heed to His words and not ours. Jesus taught no pecking order for the church and there is no organizational content not required to hold a weekly SCHOOL OF THE BIBLE where we do not PLEASURE which is related to arousal singing or music, we speak with ONE MIND and one MOUTH and glorify God and keep the unity by using "that which is written."
There is no law of GIVING so there is NO FUNDING for any staff or pyramidal ministry system. This is all a Makes Works Project for otherwise unemployable professionals..
Part Two
"Incarnational Ecclesiology"
The Christian message has always been despised and rejected of men. When you see a mass acceptance it means that it is not Christian.
The old JUBILEE, Willow Creek or the Purpose Driven Cult has driven many LARGE churches into deliberate Discord in the lust to seek people as a Theater for Holy Entertainment. This has been virtually CRUSHED by a few faithful witnesses.
The Internet is sucking the collection plates dry because you don't have to DO COMMUNE in order to be an Ekklesia or Synagogue or school of the Bible.
Therefore, the same ones who brought you the last heresy have turned back to the old Discipling Dilema or Shepherding. For instance, Promise Keepers went into a failure mode and had to turn to SHEPHERDING. This is a CULT pure and simple.
The disciple identity is held by all; growth in discipleship is expected of all.
8. People within the community hold themselves accountable to one another in love.
What it looks like: Substantial time is spent with one another
for the purpose of watching over one another in love.The church was a weekly SCHOOL OF THE BIBLE: this defines a CULT or "community church" which is defined as a COMMUNE.
The church organization is characterized by the participants as one that is ever open to change, to new and expansive ways of organizational thinking and behaving that enable rather than block the cultivating of faithful discipleship.
The community gives visible evidence that its life, work, witness, and worship are influenced and shaped by what the community is learning together from Scripture's revelation of God's claim upon its life.
Believing that the Holy Spirit gives gifts to all, the entire community participates in programs and processes for identifying, commissioning, and utilizing the gifts of both new and continuing participants for service in the mission of the church.
Hitler would explain it this way:
"But the community of the GREAT DEMONSTRATES not only strengthens the individual, it also unites and helps to create an esprit de corps.
"The man who is exposed to grave tribulations, as the first advocate of a new doctrine in his factory or workshop, absolutely needs that strengthening which lies in the conviction of being a member and fighter in a great comprehensive body.
"And he obtains an impression of this body for the first time in the mass demonstration. When from his little workshop or big factory, in which he feels very small, he steps for the first time into a mass meeting and has thousands and thousands of people of the same opinions around him, when,
as a SEEKER (Als Suchender.' A Wagnerian phrase, which Hitler was apparently determined to use at all costs)
he is swept away by three or four thousand others into the mighty effect of suggestive intoxication and enthusiasm, [Philo called Enthus O Mania and Paul callled it MADNESS which was a desirable state]

Hitler also notes that they will have gambled away their liberty.the rightness of the new doctrine and for the first time
then he himself has succumbed to the magic influence of what we designate as 'mass suggestion.'

The will, the longing, and also the power of thousands are accumulated in every individual. The man who enters such a meeting doubting and wavering leaves it inwardly reinforced:he has become a link in the community.
That is the purpose of mass meetings such as Jubilee, The Tulsa Workshop and "unity forums" stacked with instrumentalists.
Shelly's waning sermons went for long periods by including some RACA term to the NON-instrumental churches of Christ. The postmodern thesis is that they need to drive you into schizophrenia by constantly telling you that you are a loser and if you make a peep defending your "traditionalism" then YOU will know that you will be shifted to the outer circles of the Purpose Driven Cult's circle of leadership.
The are now hiring VISION CASTERS as Neo-Paganism or witchcrafte gives ALL of the code words and concepts. The witches do the same thing by CASTING a circle. You don't NEED Jesus and the Word:

Leadership teams and groups demonstrate, model, and cultivate
in their words and behaviors with one another
what the whole community is called to be and to do.
They indicate that they recognize that they too are an expression of the church when they gather,
and thus are also intentionally learning the practices of the reign of God in their life together.Hitler's human material, Willow Creeks "complimentarians": Participants indicate that they are accountable to a grouping of people with whom they are learning to live the Christian life more faithfully. (In such a grouping, they are learning to acknowledge their status as forgiven sinners, receiving from and giving both encouragement and admonition to one another, helping one another to live in God's grace, seeking consistently to be restored to right relationships with one another.)
TRANSLATES COMMUNE: The International Church of Christ or the Old Crossroads group has been INTEGRATED into Tulsa and ACU in some form of unity meeting.
This is ANTI-Christian the CORE GOSPEL which is "come to ME all that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you REST. The word PAUO like SABBATH means in the literature to STOP the music. Jesus invited the twos and threes to come to HIM to learn and the LADED BURDEN was the COMMUNING of people where they were ACCOUNTABLE to God and their family and do not pay a SHEPHERDING MINISTER.
These are CULT identifiers.

4. The Shape of the Missional Church

Rubel Shelly and John York in the Jesus Proposal: [p. 114] Our proposal to focus on Jesus means that Scripture is NO LONGER a set of proof-texts or a collection of facts or God's rulebook for human behavior. Scripture is the unfolding story of God acting both to create and to re-create. It is not an easy book to understand.
It was NEVER intended as a document to [p. 115] be INDIVIDUALLY read and interpreted--a sort-of correspondence course in salvation.
As we go to the cradle only in order to find the baby, so we go to the Scriptures ONLY to find Christ. Martin Luther.
However, scholars who quote scholars throw out the baby with the bathwater. To Martin Luther Sola Fide meant Sola Scriptura because what we have faith in comes only from the Bible. Luther also mentioned a Sola Baptism because the Bible teaches the necessity of Baptism.
In Martin Luther's TRUE words,
"just as a mother goes to the cradle only to find the baby, we go to the Bible only to find Christ. It is the Bible's primary purpose to bring men to their Savior by arousing the beginnings of faith.
Can you see how "doctors of the Law" in the words of Jesus TAKE AWAY THE KEY TO KNOWLEDGE? He has deliberately perverted Martin Luther to prove his point. This is not just abererant but he preaches that we can TAKE LIBERTIES with the old fragments of truth to write ourselves into our narrative as a greater Moses or greater Christ as he hallucinates that doing greater WORKS (energy expended) means GREATER supernatural powers!
The Rest of the story: "But this is not the only practical function it aims to fulfil. Peter and the author of the letter to the Hebrews use the analogy of birth and growth to illustrate a further purpose of Scripture. Those who have put their trust in Jesus as Saviour 'have been born anew through the living and abiding word of God' : but, like all new-born babes, they must ' long for the pure spiritual milk' of the WORD if they are to survive and grow; and once beyond babyhood they need solid food - which is the meat of God's word. ( 1Peter 1 :23/1 Peter 2:2 / Hebrews5 :12 -14)."
The Emergent Church preaches JUST JESUS and repudiates the command of Jesus to teach what HE heard from the Father within.
Shelly continued: Just as identity in Christ is always COMMUNITY identity, our reading of Scripture becomes a COMMUNITY READING as well.
While we still have access to reading as individuals, we stop asking, "What does this mean to me?"--as though there is such an isolated meaning. Instead we have a GROUP MENTALITY that asks, "What does this mean to US?"
we lay aside INDIVIDUAL interpretations precisely because they are inevitably argumentative and divisive.
If YOU quit interpreting and let SHELLY do the interpreting THEN we will have no argument!
This is not "group" mentality because the minister selected by the sovereign grace of God is equipped by charisma and training to be THE leader (Apostle). The elders, says Shelly, are to shepherd the MINISTER.
THEN WE MUST HAVE ADEPTS: how do we test them? "Group mentality" always means that someone is THE leader of THE group mind.
We GIVE UP the right of individual interpretation and take on the accountability of SHARED READING.
This is not a pooling of collective ignorance. The Bible is full of stories from ancient and often quite alien cultural settings and belief systems, and we cannot ignore those differences.
So we listen to the voices of scholarship just as we listen to the child who intuitively hears what God is saying in a particular story.
If we obey the command for the qahal, synagogue or church in the wilderness, the institutionalized synagogue, the practice of Jesus, the command of Paul and the practice of the church WE only have to read or speak "that which is written" and discuss it.
5. The Contextualized Church
The church is not RELIGIONISM but a SCHOOL OF THE BIBLE. THERE IS NO NEED TO CHANGE WITH THE CULTURE.
Defining Syncretism: A warning that GROUP THINK is always going to reflect culture.
"As we have noted in this presentation, Christians can readily accommodate to the worldviews of its age. Such accommodation is called syncretism. What is meant by this word? What happens within a Christian community which allows syncretism to develop and continue? What are some scriptural examples of it?
Syncretism is the reshaping of Christian beliefs and practices through cultural accommodation so that they consciously or unconsciously blend with those of the dominant culture. It is the blending of Christian beliefs and practices with those of the dominant culture so that Christianity looses it distinctive nature and speaks with a voice reflective of its culture.
This is what Shelly - York call GROUP MENTALITY.
Syncretism develops because the Christian community attempts to make its message and life attractive, alluring, and appealing to those outside the fellowship. Over a period of years the accommodations become routinized, integrated into the narrative story of the Christian community and inseparable from its life. When major worldview changes occur within the dominant culture, the church has difficulty separating the eternals from the temporals. The church tends to loose her moorings because she has for too long been swept along with the ebb and flow of cultural currents. Syncretism thus occurs when Christianity opts into the major cultural assumptions of its society (Van Rheenen 1997).
This was what God warned about as the Israelites went into Canaan: The CULTURE was so enmeshed with what John called a GENERATION (RACE) of Vipers and Jesus called a crooked generation and would not preach to them. Therefore, the danger of following Shelly and Rochester was so terminal that God commanded that these "beyond redemption" people be destroyed.
If this is a figure of speech it at least tells you that when people break down the walls rather than RESTORING the broken walls, they INTEND to let the "beast" people in (Isaiah5) using wine, women and music to eat up their inheritance. Therefore, the emergent church people cannot have any Christian roots; they have lost connection to the Head.
On the other hand: Biblical Illustrations of Syncretism
The theme of syncretism occurs so frequently in Scripture that it is like a threat interwoven through the fabric of Scripture's kingdom narrative. In a very real sense, the Ten Commandments are injunctions against syncretism.
As Shelly and York see the Wilderness as a PATTERN for church government and worship they MISSED the merging of Midianite and old Egyptian CULTURE with God's people: they rose up to PLAY meaning musical idolatry and God TURNED THEM OVER to worship the starry host (Stephen Acts 7, etc.) When we lust to MERGE as Shelly did by meeting in a Christian Church building THEY totally defeated Him and NO instrumentalists wants to cuddle without the intention of defeating you.
6. Whispering to the Soul
WHISPERING TO THE SOUL: You cannot RITUALIZE it.
The word "speak" used of the Greek ekklesia meant "in a whisper or conversational tone." The Latin "sermo" also means a conversational tone. That is because ekklesia or church is a SCHOOL and the ONLY textbook is the Bible where private interpretaton or "further expounding" is outlawed just as modern "preaching" forms were outlawed for the synagogue. When the word or LOGOS is spoken the word specificially EXCLUDES music. Not too hard even for a PhDuh: how can you give heed to God through HIS Word and sing, clap and musicate using your OWN "scripture."
Whispering has a more sinister meaning: Ezekiel warns about the prophetesses who MAKE SOULS FLY: they steal words one from another and say that GOD SAYS.
You will remember that the "familiar spirit" of the Witch of Endor was an old, empty WINESKIN. It was a musical echo chamber like the sounding brass. It was used to WHISPER UP A SOUL:
Isa 29:4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.

The women "prophesiers" or "musical minstels" were ADEPTS at makig souls fly:

In Psalm 41:5, the enemy (Judas) was Oyeb (h341) or the hating adversary or "Ophis" in greek (g3789) for the serpent. This Ophis is the same serpent which beguiled Eve. Jesus called Judas "Satan." In reality, he is incarnated in the sOPHISts who were enchanters for pay.
In Genesis, the "serpent" is not a snake. Rather, he is a musical enchanter who "hisses" and whispers:

This SACRAMENT of the BODY must be PUT TO DEATH and not used to do WORKS for the clergy institution. We, personally, do not need anyone to let us "come boldly before the throne of Grace.

Reasonable is rational OF THE WORD of God. Jesus said that RITES are not possible in HOUSES built by human hands or by the works of human hands. Rather, worship is in the NEW PLACE of the personal spirit made holy at baptism. There is the only PLACE God will look for our worship as we GIVE HEED to the Spirit OF Truth or the Words of Christ.

10. The Genius of APEPT
APEPT sound so much like ADEPT that it probably is not accidental. Is the MEDIUM the Word or is he / she / it a prophet, chaneller or facilitator trained by ACU (Re. Carroll D. Osburn.)
APEPT, is made up of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors and Teachers who are partnering together with all their giftings, anointings and callings to help build up the body of Christ until we all reach unity of the faith. The gatherings of The Congress of Apostles & Prophets encourages and uplifts the leaders helping them understand their calling and working side by side to accomplish the many task they have been sent to do.
Of course, an Apostle or Prophet is also an ADEPT in the true sense!

I think the APEPT model is one of the more problematic things I have come across in the emerging church conversation. Read Clarke's Serve the Church. It looks at the early church within its social setting. It argues that every one of Pauls' letters has a slightly different take on leadership and that is because Paul is contextual. Leadership structure emerges from the mission context. To impose APEPT is therefore not true to the full range of the Biblical material; it is privileging one letter over the other letters. More problematic, it's imposing a theoretical model that distorts the true contextual missionality that is the New Testament texts.
Of course, the Emergent Church repudiates the Epistles as Shelly notes that they were divisive views expressed by divided apostles. That is why the "movement" has abandoned the Epistles and contructed their own. The leadership was elders and deacons: their RULE was based on "teaching that which has been taught." One obeyed by "obeying their instructions from the Word" and "watched the outcome of their lives." The ROLE is to call the assembly and then use ONE MIND and ONE MUTH to teach "that which is written" meaning Scripture to edify or educate, comfort with Scriptrue, glorify God who wrote it and thereby KEEP THE UNITY. These views are of an INSTITUTE and has no relationship to the ekklesia or school of the Bible where singing and preaching took almost 400 years to intrude. They are trying to PROP up their own failures to, in the concept of Paul, fool the fools.
I think the greatest difficulty with the APEPT model is similar to the model I'm in right now (i.e., the solo pastor of a church of 100+): too often, the people designated in the APEPT are given privileges to speak ex cathedra far beyond their actual gifting.
In other words, if someone is designated as a prophet, everything they say is deemed to be prophetic. If someone is regognized as an apostle, then often all their actions are seen as apostolic.
Which, as we know, isn't the case."
We have noted that the APEPTS are really Apostles or Prophets as CULTIC ADEPTS. Shelly denies the "COMMON MATERIAL" to speak outside of the community or commun but ALSO denies their right to speak INSIDE the commune because THAT role is taken by the Apostles and Prophets.
The claim for APOSTLES is the old pagan association between APOSTLES and ADEPTS.
Genius intends to BOAST of a system with the MARK of APEPT. However, God CANNOT USE the "idolatry of talent." The Genius or Genie was the FAMILIAR SPIRIT of a person. Jesus said that the clergy which SPOKE ON THEIR OWN were sons of the Devil. A Genius is a DEMON.

ADEPTS are:
Hierophant [from Greek hierophantes from hieros sacred + phainein to show] A revealer of sacred mysteries; title given to the highest adepts in the temples of antiquity, who taught and expounded the Mysteries. The attributes of a hierophant were those of Hermes or Mercury, being both expounder and mystagog or conductor of souls. In Hebrew an equivalent is found in the hierarchy of the 'elohim. Many names of man-gods refer to archaic hierophants, such as Orpheus, Enoch, etc. The hierophants of ancient Egypt handed down the sacred teachings, some of which were, however, lost by the deaths of hierophants before they had completed their message because, due to the degeneration which had come upon the West, they were unable to find appropriate pupils to receive the wisdom.
During the celebration of the ancient Mysteries, the hierophant in the drama of the Mysteries represented the demiurge, the Third Logos, opening or revealing the mysteries of the universe and, in consequence, of human nature to the neophytes. He was thus the sacred teacher.
Rubel Shelly and John York claim that Joh got his idea of the Logos from Greek Philosophers.
OANNES
Mesopotamian amphibious being who taught mankind wisdom. Oannes, as described by the Babylonian priest Berosus, had the form of a fish but with the head of a man under his fish's head and under his fish's tail the feet of a man. In the daytime he came up to the seashore of the Persian Gulf and instructed mankind in writing, the arts, and the sciences. Oannes was probably the emissary of Ea, god of the freshwater deep and of wisdom.
[Inanna got Ea drunk and stole the ME. These were magical songs or incantations. They included the power of the ELDERSHIP, the power of musical instruments, the power of perverted sexuality and the power to defeat the GATES OF HELL.]
The 'fish' is an old and very suggestive symbol in the Mystery-language, as is also 'water.' Ea or Hea was the god of the sea and Wisdom, and the sea serpent was one of his emblems, his priests being 'serpents' or Initiates. Thus one sees why Occultism places Oannes and the other Annedoti in the group of those ancient 'adepts' who were called 'marine' or 'water dragons' -- Nagas.

When Paul speaks of males ONLY raising holy hands (palms and not waving ARMS) he also said WITHOUT WRATH. That meand without ORGE which is a direct outlawing of the musical, charismatic worship where it is noted that "only females and effeminate males can be thrown into this MADNESS." Carol Wimber, Vineyard or aka New Wineskins note that this is to bring a climactic or sexeual experience with the Spirit (just before giving of means). All such pagan ritual intended to reach a visual, auditory or actual climax with the gods (demons).

But in the Cretan accounts the
Curetes are called "rearers of Zeus," and "protectors of Zeus,"
having been summoned from Phrygia to Crete by Rhea. Some say that, of the nine Telchines who lived in Rhodes, those who accompanied Rhea to Crete and "reared" Zeus "in his youth" were named "Curetes"; and that Cyrbas, a comrade of these, who was the founder of Hierapytna, afforded a pretext to the Prasians for saying among the Rhodians thatthe Corybantes were certain genii, sons of Athena and Helius.
Further, some call the Corybantes sons of Cronus (Saturn)
but others say that the Corybantes were sons of Zeus and Calliope and were identical with the Cabeiri, and that these went off to Samothrace, which in earlier times was called Melite, and that their rites were mystical.The call for a new from of leadership in the emerging church is based on what Frost and Hirsch call the APEPT model - Apostolic, Prophetic, Evangelistic, Pastoral and Teaching.
Sounds like cracking away to the ADEPT. The demand for Apostles and Prophets is proof that the model intends to use some very old superstition about the indwelling GOD or gods.
Sometimes new schemes of religionism CRACK AWAY to the archaic as Joseph Campbell notes. When the existing system fails they return to the beginning. It is interesting that the Apostolic and Prophetic periods have ALREADY passed. Both Paul and Peter warn against going beyond the revealed Word which had been spoken by Jesus, proven by SIGNS, witnessed by chosen Apostles and recorded for OUR memory. Those is to MARK those who do not "teach that which has been taught" as FALSE teachers just as the false PROPHETS plagued Judaism.
The remaining tasks are E.P.T and there is no CERTIFICATE OF NEED for latter day apostles and prophets. How do WE prove them to be right when they ALWAYS repudiate that which has been written and tested for these 2,000 years.
11. Imagination and the Task
For this you need a VISION CASTER on the staff: This is quite identical to witchcraft. The word imagination, improvising or innovating are PURE LEGALISM words. God has NOT that task up to us because NO MAN can know God or approach Him other than through Himself incarnated as Jesus Christ. The need for imagination is a I HAVE FALLEN AND CANNOT GET UP word: it says that "we DO NOT believe in the Word" and that is clearly stateby Shelly and York.
Other than "a school of the Bible" history and the Restoration Movement speaks of local "societies" which perform the work of a community club. One of the MARKS of Anti-Christ is laid down in the qualifications for an apostle. If they did not see the resurrected Christ then they are ANTI-Christ.

Paul warned about worship in the SPIRIT AS OPPOSED TO in the flesh BECAUSE "outside there be dogs." The dogs and wolves were homosexual men who used a form of singing to ATTRACT those of like kind. I think the WOLVES of pseudo-institutions including too many church SEEK OUT those with whom they can share "relationships" while opening the DOOR to the Wolves with "sheep skins" still bleeding from ONCE- Christian Collages.

Revelation 18 shows that the rhetoricians, singers and musicians and other religious craftsmen were SORCERERS. It seems that the FALL under the Babylon Harlot and her musicians came AFTER God removed the CANDLES or Word of God.
Those organizing the Revelation CALL themselves Apostles and Prophets. At the same time they DENY inspiration and are building another LEVEL on the Pyramid of Power call the STAFF INFECTION.
"The root of the word (Nicolaitans) through historical evaluation shows us that the word Nicolaitans comes from Greek nikao, to conquer or overcome, and laos, which means people and which the word laity comes from. The two words together especially means the destruction of the people and refers to the earliest form of what we call a priestly order or clergy
which later on in church history
divided people allowing for leadership other than those led by the Lord Jesus Christ."A good translation of Nicolaitan would be "those who prevail over the people." This clerical system later developed into the papal hierarchy of priests and clergy over the laity. The Council of Trent stated that "If anyone shall say that there is not in the Catholic Church a hierarchy established by the divine ordination, consisting of bishops, presbyters and ministers, let him be anathema." This very idea was taken over by the Protestants with their own corruption of church leadership. Another of the seven churches, the Church of Ephesus was commended for hating the deeds of the Nicolaitans.
The wrong separation of the clergy from the laity is a great evil in God's sight and He hates the lust for religious power.
"There is an ungodly spiritual authority in the Church today, which is nothing more than the prideful spirit of control, manipulation, domination and intimidation and a rebellion of the rightful authority of Jesus.
It is thought by some that there is a linguistic connection between the words "Nicolaitans" and "Balaam." This is because the word "Balaam" is formed from the Hebrew words "Baal" ("lord," "master," or "boss") and "am" ("people"), so that it means something like "master of the people." The Greek word "Nicolaitan" is from the Greek "nikos" ("victory" or "triumph" [Nike apparel takes it name from this Greek word]) and "laos" ("people"), so that it could mean something like "victory over the people" or "triumph over the people." Because of the possible similarity in meaning, some think that the word "Nicolaitan" is a translation into Greek of the meaning of the word "Balaam," and they would point to the connection between the two in Revelation 2:14-15. Thus, the idea is that the deeds and doctrines of the Nicolaitans are the same as or similar to the deeds and doctrines of Balaam."
Psalm 41 promised that Judas would not "triumph over" Jesus and the Judas bag was for "carrying the mouthpieces of wind instruments."

In the year 1824, Edward Irving, a Presbyterian pastor in Scotland, began teaching that "the five-fold ministry" of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers had disappeared from the church and were in need of restoration. According to Irving, the restoration of these ministries would usher in the Millennial Kingdom of Christ on the earth.
As a result of Irving's teachings, he and his followers began the Catholic Apostolic Church in 1832. Its chief purpose was to restore "the five-fold ministry" and usher in the Millennial Kingdom. The church ordained twelve "apostles" who were to be the last days equivalent of the original Twelve whom Jesus appointed. Henry Drummond, a wealthy banker from England, became the leader of the church. Drummond himself took the highest position . . . the "apostle to Scotland."
It was prophesied that these twelve apostles would be the last apostles to appear on the earth before Christ's return. (This is a throwback to Mani of Persia of the third century who labeled himself the "Apostle of Light," the very last apostle of Jesus to exist on the earth.)
Eventually these twelve apostles died (the last one dying in 1901). Upon their death, the Catholic Apostolic Church died in England. In Germany, however, the Catholic Apostolic Church ordained twelve more apostles and took the name New Apostolic Church.

the function of these gifts in any church team.
2. it moves toward disentangling these biblical terms from
the muck and mire of cultural religion
Religionists have historically been driven out of their senses close to the millenium. They practice the HOLINESS OF SIN and hallucinate that they are apostles and prophets. This is just such a wacko take off--like all of the DITTO-HEADING--of restoring the Five-fold ministry of Ephesians. This, like the Jubilee (for the atonement) and the new SCAMS to replace the bankrupt 'church growth cult'
