Joseph Shulam: Jewish Roots Part 2

Is Jewish Identity, Jewish Roots or Hebraic Roots or Messianic Jews the Model for the Church of Christ? Paul spent his time and life trying to silence the Judaizers who tried to make The Christian System into a way to save Judaism: a system of the worship of the starry host to which God abandoned Israel where He permitted them to worship like the Babylonians and construct a temple which was a ziggurat. REV 2.01.41

THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE JEWS BUT THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS. IT IS ABOUT THE PROPHETS AND APOSTLES AS THE ONLY FOUNDATION UPON WHICH THE CHURCH OF CHIRST IS BUILT (EDUCATED). THAT IS BECAUSE THE SPIRIT OF CHIRST SPOKE ONLY THROUGH THE PROPHETS AND THE PROPHECIES MADE MORE CERTAIN THROUGH JESUS OF NAZARETH.

MESSIANIC JEWS: BIBLE STUDIES TABLE OF CONTENTS
Exodus 32 They Sat Down to Eat and rose up to play: they repudiated The Book of The Covenant of Grace given by Christ to Abraham to ALL NATIONS.
Deuteronomy 32 They Rose Up To Play

1 Corinthians 10 They sat Down to Eat and Rose Up To Play  God gave Israel The Book of The Covenant of Grace as that made by Christ to Abraham.  The Israelites engaged in musical idolatry of the Egyptian trinity. God gave them The Book of The Law and Moses coultd not atone for them. The Angle (Christ) led them but God said nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.

Christ came to give REST to those who were baptized into Christ: [Gal 3]. There can be no racial distinction in the body of Christ who rescued Jews along with the Abrahamic Gens
who were not so burdened.

Land and Spiritual Covenant deliberately forfeited.
The Book of The Covenant was given to Abraham by God in Christ. The Israelites now religiously Egyptians rejected DISCIPLINE and demanded the "gods" of Egypt which let them "run wild and naked."

The Gospel Promise: I Will Give you rest. Jesus also that the kingdom of God does not come with "ovservation." That word means "Religious Observations." Christ defined the Church of Christ in the Wilderness to give the godly people REST from the normal pagan seventh-day religious efforts to get their god's attention. The command was to READ the Word and Rehearse or discuss the Word as it was delivered to small group elders of 50s etc.

The Levites Almost all Messianic Jewish and Christian "worship" and money is devoted to the belief that God commanded instrumental worship in the sacrificial system.  They claim that "Since He has not changed His mind, what Christ ordained as A School of His Word has been turned into "theaters for holy entertainment."

The Kingdom of God does not come with Religious Observations or Services

Don't pay for people to force you to violate that Gospel promise.

Joe Shulam: First Century Jewish Identity as a Model  Joseph claims that Jesus and the first churches were 100% based on the Torah.

Joseph Shulam: First Century Jewish Identity as a Model Part Two  We have added a bit of "Old Testament" which the later Jews seemed to have missed as they came to be the oppressors of the Gentiles with whom Christ made the Abrahamic Covenant which never ceased.

Joe Shulam: The Way of the Lord is not Jewish  Genesis 18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgmentTHAT the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Joseph Shulam: was Jesus and the church "Torah" observant and worshipped at the temple.

Messianic and musical christians insist that: Jesus Came Not to Destroy the Law but to Fulfil it.  The prophecies are defined by Jesus as "CONCERNING ME." Fulfil is the prophecy that A NEW NATION WOULD BE BORN IN ONE DAY. This purpose would be neither Jewish nor Gentile in a racist sense but that ALL people be one.

The Jews under the Law of Moses and then the Jacob-cursed monarchy, were in bondage or enslaved to the Civil-Military-Clergy state.  From Mount Sinai onward God made it clear that the nobility had negated The Book of The Covenant made by God in Christ to Abraham.  The land promise was conditional and they joyfully disobeyed the conditions.  God in Christ preserved the godly Israelites by quarantining them from the curses of the Temple State Sacrifices by restricting travel even of clergy so the people could Rest, Read and Rehearse the Word of God.  Modern Jews probably have little connection to Israel or Judah and godly people should not again let themselves be in bondage to Sabbath as "worship," tithing or keeping any of the festivals primary for the military aged males

The golden calf at Mount Sinai begins the scattering of the Israelite people into the worship of Demons or Devils.

Speaking to the religious Jews

"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." John 8:44
If you missed Acts 7 the Jewish Encyclopedia proves that the Jews connected to the Civil-Military-Clergy or Priestly complex worshipped the starry host.

That should not worry or become a foundation upon which to appropiate the promised Messiah but who do not cling to the Second Law given because of Transgression to those who rejected The Book of The Covenant given by Christ to Abraham and to ALL NATION long before the Law was imposed to legislate for the lawless.

Faithful Jews and other "nations" were given the Synagogue of Christ the Rock to protect them from profaning the Sabbath which means REST and never "a day  of worship" in the priestly sense of Devil or Demon worship.

This paper is a summary of the Bible and not directed to any person. God does not want either earthly Jews or Gentiles to be call back to the bondage of the Civil-Military-Clergy worship of the starry host.  Jesus cured the dilema by denying that there is any racial distinction now or never.
TORAH: I believe that Messianic Jews call all  of the "old testament" the Torah.  However, the Old Testament is a library and not a book.

The Torah (English pronunciation: /ˈtɔːrə/; Hebrew: תּוֹרָה‎‎, "Instruction") is the name given by Jews to the "Five Books of Moses" that begin the Hebrew Bible: Genesis (in Hebrew, Bereshit), Exodus (Shmot), Leviticus (Vayikra), Numbers (Bamidbar) and Deuteronomy (Dvarim).

The Rabbinic understanding does not make the torah mean the entire Old Testament which contains both the Covenant Christ made to Abraham and the Scribal literature of the "nation abandoned by God" as well as the Prophets.  Christianity is built upon the Prophets and Apostles with Christ Jesus revealing both for the future Abrahamic Covenant which was and is a Gentile or "all nations covenant.

THE BOOK OF THE COVENANT CHRIST MADE WITH ABRAHAM WAS SUPERCEDED BY THE BOOK OF THE LAW ADDED BECAUSE OF TRANSGRESSION.

Deut. 29:1 These are the words of the covenant,
        which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab,
        beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.
Deut. 29:2 And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them,
        Ye have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh,
        and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;
Deut. 29:3 The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:
Deut. 29:4 Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive,
        and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.

But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. Zechariah 7:11
They made their hearts as hard as flint and would not listen to the
law or to the words that
the LORD Almighty had
sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. [all murdered by the Jews]
      So the LORD Almighty was very angry. Zechariah 7:12

Therefore it is come to pass, that

as he cried, and they would not hear;
so
they cried, and I would not hear,
saith the Lord of hosts: Zechariah 7:13

The prophets with the power of the Spirit or Mind of Christ were ministering the Spirit through the Word. Peter says that they were--

Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify,
when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 1 Peter 1:11

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Acts 7:51

Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: Acts 7:52
Who have
received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it. Acts 7:53

THE ISRAELITES WERE MADE BLIND AND DEAF TO THE ABRAHAMIC COVENT WHEN ABANDONED TO SABAZIANISM DEMON WORSHIP.  Not even the Law of Moses preventing them from murderning the prophets who warned that The Law was to protect the weak from the clergy nobility and not as proof of the clergy's right to murder.
2Cor. 3:13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face,
        that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

2Cor. 3:14 But their minds were blinded:
        for until this day remaineth
        the same vail untaken away
        in the reading of the old testament;
        which vail is done away in Christ.
2Cor. 3:15 But even unto this day,
        when Moses is read
, the vail is upon their heart.
2Cor. 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, [Baptism]
        the vail shall be taken away.  [Receiving A holy spirit]
2Cor. 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2Cor. 3:18 But we all,
        with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord,
        are changed into the same image from glory to glory,
        even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
GOD IN CHRIST MADE THE ONLY SPIRITUAL COVENANT TO ABRAHAM: NOT TO THE JEWS

Deut. 29:23 And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown,
        nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein,
        like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim,
        which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
Deut. 29:24 Even all nations shall say,
        Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land?
        what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
Deut. 29:25 Then men shall say,
        Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers,
        which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:

THAT BOOK OF THE COVENANT DID NOT COMMAND ANIMAL SACRIFICES AND OUTLAWED STONE ALTARS

Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel,
        Amend your ways and your doings,
        and I will cause you to dwell in this place. Jeremiah 7:3

        The temple of the Lord, are these. Jeremiah 7:4

For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings;
        if ye thoroughly

If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow,

Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit. Jeremiah 7:8

Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely,
        and

        and

And come and stand before me in this HOUSE, which is called by my name, and say,
        We are delivered to do all these abominations? Jeremiah 7:10

1 Macc 1:54 - Now on the fifteenth day of Chislev, in the one hundred and forty-fifth year, they erected a desolating sacrilege upon the altar of burnt offering. They also built altars in the surrounding cities of Judah,

Notice in verse 59 that this desolating sacrilege could be another altar placed upon the regular altar for burnt offerings.

PHOENI´CE Deities: Baal and Ashtaroth, the two chief divinities of Phoenicia, were the sun and moon. The name of Baal was applied to Phoenician kings, and Belus is the first king of Assyria and Phoenicia. At a later period Baal became a distinct supreme God, and the sun obtained a separate worship (2 Kings, xxiii. 5). As the supreme god, the Greeks and Romans identified him with their Zeus, or Jupiter, and not with Apollo. Bel or Baal was also identified with the planet Saturn, We find his name prefixed to that of other deities, as Baal-Phegor, the god of licentiousness, Baal-Zebub, the god of flies, &c.; as well as to that of many places in which he had temples, as Baal-Gad, Baal-Hamon, &c. Groves on elevated places were dedicated to his worship, and human victims were sometimes offered to him as well as to Moloch. (Jerem. xix. 4, 5.)

2Kings 23:4 And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door,
        to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal,
        and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven:
        and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron,
        and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel.

Host of Heaven:  The word host as used in Genesis 2:1, is defined by Strong's Concordance (6635) as "a mass of persons or things especially organized for war, an army." Often it refers to human armies. Two other words are translated "host(s)," and used similarly, but 6635 is usually used to refer to the heavenly host. This page is posted to show that in Old Testament scripture, heavenly host refers specifically to angelic beings (just as in Luke 2:13's "heavenly host praising God" at Christ's birth). It does not generally refer to celestial bodies, or to the cosmos in general.

We are told not to worship the heavenly host, and God is declared "The Lord of Hosts" over 200 times in the Bible. Unfortunately, modern theology almost always interprets the phrase "heavenly host" or "host of heaven" to mean the stars, planets, etc (usu "array" or "starry hosts," in NIV), unless the context makes it absolutely unavoidable to do so.

In Genesis 1:15-17, a completely different Hebrew word (kowkab - Strong's 3552) is used to refer to literal stars. There is simply no need to confuse these terms, since there is a perfectly good Hebrew word for stars, used over 25 times in the Old Testament, and even a Hebrew word for "constellations" used in Isaiah 13:10. (Go to the online Blue Letter Bible and enter "stars" and "constellations.")

Bring no more vain oblations;

Of Molech from Amos: "Sometimes he was represented as a horrible idol with fire burning inside so that what was placed in his arms was consumed. In the above illustration, a heathen priest has taken a baby from its mother to be offered to Molech.

The word for
drums is tophim from which the word 'Tophet,' the place mentioned in verses such as Jeremiah 7:31:

''They have built the high place of Tophet... to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire. While drums sounded, bands played, and priests chanted, human sacrifices were devoured in the flames." (Woodrow, Ralph, Babylon Mystery Religion, p. 72-73)

God turned them over to worship the starry host because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai. When they demanded a king it was so that they could WORSHIP LIKE THE NATIONS.

WHEN ISRAEL AND JUDAH BECAME SEPARATE NATIONS

Solomon built the not-commanded temple whereas God had granted Davit a tent on mount Sinai.  God had abandoned Israel to worship the starry host which means to worship devils or demons.

2Chr. 11:5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.
2Chr. 11:13 And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their coasts.
2Chr. 11:14 For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem:
        for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest’s office unto the LORD:

When God turned all of the nation over to worship the starry host and after the final rejection of God by demanding a "national" or "gentile" king, the first born son was rejected and replaced by a central, national leadership with earthly priests to stand between God and man: these are priests or demons in the new pagan order of Jews who abandoned both the land promise and the future Messiah which would be out of spiritual Judah.

2Chr. 11:15 And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.

2 Chronicles 11.15 qui constituit sibi sacerdotes excelsorum et daemonum vitulorumque quos fecerat

The priests serving in the worship of the starry host were of the Jacob cursed tribe of Levi. Jacob warned us NOT to join the covenant of Levi or to attend any of their assemblies. The Sabbath (rest) and the synagogue kept the godly people in a safe house because the priests and Levites profaned the Sabbbath at the temple and WORK prohibited "sending our ministers of God."

Hebrews 7:15 And it is yet far more evident:
        for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
Hebrews 7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
Hebrews 7:17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
Hebrews 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect,
        but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

Hom. Od. 23.129 Then Odysseus of many wiles answered him and said: [130] “Then will I tell thee what seems to me to be the best way. First bathe yourselves, and put on your tunics, and bid the handmaids in the halls to take their raiment. But let the divine minstrel with his clear-toned lyre in hand be our leader in the gladsome dance, [135] that any man who hears the sound from without, whether a passer-by or one of those who dwell around, may say that it is a wedding feast; and so the rumor of the slaying of the wooers shall not be spread abroad throughout the city before we go forth to our well-wooded farm. There [140] shall we afterwards devise whatever advantage the Olympian may vouchsafe us.” So he spoke, and they all readily hearkened and obeyed. First they bathed and put on their tunics, and the women arrayed themselves, and the divine minstrel took the hollow lyre and aroused in them the desire [145] of sweet song and goodly dance. So the great hall resounded all about with the tread of dancing men and of fair-girdled women; and thus would one speak who heard the noise from without the house: “Aye, verily some one has wedded the queen wooed of many.

Pind. O. 1 Water is best, and gold, like a blazing fire in the night, stands out supreme of all lordly wealth. But if, my heart, you wish to sing of contests, [5] look no further for any star warmer than the sun, shining by day through the lonely sky, and let us not proclaim any contest greater than Olympia. From there glorious song enfolds the wisdom of poets,1 so that they loudly sing [10] the son of Cronus, when they arrive at the rich and blessed hearth of Hieron, who wields the scepter of law in Sicily of many flocks, reaping every excellence at its peak, and is glorified [15] by the choicest music, which we men often play around his hospitable table. Come, take the Dorian lyre down from its peg, if the splendor of Pisa and of Pherenicus placed your mind under the influence of sweetest thoughts, [20] when that horse ran swiftly beside the Alpheus, not needing to be spurred on in the race, and brought victory to his master, the king of Syracuse who delights in horses. His glory shines in the settlement of fine men founded by Lydian Pelops, [25] with whom the mighty holder of the earth Poseidon fell in love, when Clotho took him out of the pure cauldron, furnished with a gleaming ivory shoulder. Yes, there are many marvels, and yet I suppose the speech of mortals beyond the true account can be deceptive, stories adorned with embroidered lies; [30] and Grace, who fashions all gentle things for men, confers esteem and often contrives to make believable the unbelievable. But the days to come are the wisest witnesses

Xen. Sym. 9.2 After he had withdrawn, a chair of state, first of all, was set down in the room, and then the Syracusan came in with the announcement: “Gentlemen, Ariadne will now enter the chamber set apart for her and Dionysus; after that, Dionysus, a little flushed with wine drunk at a banquet of the gods, will come to join her; and then they will disport themselves together.”

[B] Then, to start proceedings, in came Ariadne, apparelled as a bride, and took her seat in the chair. Dionysus being still invisible, there was heard the Bacchic music played on a flute. Then it was that the assemblage was filled with admiration of the dancing master. For as soon as Ariadne heard the strain, her action was such that every one might have perceived her joy at the sound; and although she did not go to meet Dionysus, nor even rise, yet it was clear that she kept her composure with difficulty.

Liv. 7 2 [2] 2. The pestilence lasted during both this and the1 following year, the consulship of Gaius Sulpicius Peticus and Gaius Licinius Stolo. In the latter year nothing memorable occurred, except that with the [361] object of appeasing the divine displeasure they made a lectisternium, or banquet to the gods, being the third in the history of the City; [3] and when neither human wisdom nor the help of Heaven was found to mitigate the scourge, men gave way to superstitious fears, and, amongst other efforts to disarm the wrath of the gods, are said also to have instituted scenic entertainments. [4] This was a new departure for a warlike people, whose only exhibitions had been those of the circus; but indeed it began in a small way, as most things do, and even so was imported from abroad.4 Without any singing, without imitating the action of singers, players who had been brought in from Etruria danced to the strains of the flautist and performed not ungraceful evolutions in the Tuscan fashion. [5] Next the young Romans began to imitate them, at the same time exchanging jests in uncouth verses, and bringing their movements into a certain harmony with the words. [6] And so the amusement was adopted, and frequent use kept it alive. The native professional actors were called histriones, from ister, the Tuscan word for player; they no longer —as before —alternately [7] threw off rude lines hastily improvised, like the Fescennines,5 but performed medleys, full of musical measures, to melodies which were now written out to go with the flute, and with appropriate gesticulation.  [363] Livius6 was the first, some years later, to abandon7 364 saturae and compose a play with a plot. [8] Like everyone else in those days, he acted his own pieces; and the story goes that when his voice, owing to the frequent demands made upon it, had lost its freshness, he asked and [9??] obtained the indulgence to let a boy stand before the flautist to sing the monody, while he acted it himself, with a vivacity of gesture that gained considerably from his not having to use his voice. [10] From that time on actors began to use singers to accompany their gesticulation, reserving only the dialogue parts for their own delivery. When this type of performance had begun to wean [11??] the drama from laughter and informal jest, and the play had gradually developed into art, the young men abandoned the acting of comedies to professionals and revived the ancient practice of fashioning their nonsense into verses and letting fly with them at one another; this was the source of the after-plays which came later to be called exodia, and were usually combined with Atellan farces. [12] The Atellan was a species of comedy acquired from the Oscans,8 and the young men kept it for themselves and would not allow it to be polluted by the professional actors; that is why it is a fixed tradition that performers of Atellan plays are not disfranchised, but serve in the army as though they had no connexion with the stage.9 [13] Amongst the humble origins of other institutions it has seemed worth while to set down the early history of the play, that it might be seen how sober were the beginnings of [365] an art that has nowadays reached a point where10 opulent kingdoms could hardly support its mad extravagance.

4 Livy distinguishes five stages in the development of scenic entertainments: (1) dances, accompanied by the flute; (2) improvisation of rude verses in addition to the music and dancing; (3) medleys, of a musical character, accompanied by flute and dance; (4) the comedy with a regular plot, special singers for the lyric parts, etc.; (5) the addition of an after-play, exodium or Atellana. With this account, Horace, Epistles II. i. 139 ff. should be compared.

5 The name was derived by the ancients either from Fescennia, a place in Etruria, or from fascinum, a phallic symbol.

9 Actors were regularly reckoned in the aerarii or lowest class of citizens, who were not permitted to serve in the army.

Joseph Shulam: Netivyah "The Way of the Lord."

JEWISH ROOTS IS A DETOUR FROM THE CHRISTIAN THREAD, ABANDONED TO WORSHIP THE STARRY HOST AND SENTENCED TO RETURN TO ASSYTIA AND BABYLON.

Joseph Shulam:  I am not opposed to my Gentile brothers having their own identity, their own culture, and a style of worship that differs from mine, and even that they be Pentecostals, Lutherans, Baptists, or Afro-Americans. But as for me, the most important thing is the fact that the first congregation in Jerusalem, as described in the pages of the New Covenant, was a Messianic Jewish congregation, which was 100% faithful to our Lord Yeshua and 100% faithful to the Torah of Israel.

That's 100% false.  Jesus Christ came as the SEED (singular) of Abraham to put down the oppression of the Jewish sects and to fulfil the ONLY spiritual covenant made by God in CHRIST to Abraham.  The Covenant made with Abraham was to be a blessing to ALL NATIONS by teaching the Word of God.

John 8:39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father.
        Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children,
        ye would do the works of Abraham.
Acts 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers,
        A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me;
        him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
Acts 3:23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul,
        which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
Acts 3:24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after,
        as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
Acts 3:25 Ye are the children of the prophets,
        and of the covenant which God made with our fathers,
         saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

Abrham was not a Jew: Abraham was a Gentile as a "national" and his command was to ALL NATIONS: nothing that God in Christ promised to Abraham was changed by anything that happened under the curse of the law an a nation devoted to the worship of the starry hosts.

Christ is spirit spoke primarily through the Prophets all of whom repudiate the Law and Monarchy as God's abandonment to the worship of the starry host.

Jesus said that God had hidden the truth in parables "from the foundation of the world" to those of the world for which He would not even pray. He warned about the Lying Pen of the Scribes who kept the journals for the Civil-Military-Clergy complex.  Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites: in Isaiah and specificially Ezekiel 33 He identified speakers, singers and instrument players: these were MARKS that people had no intention of obeying the Word of God.  Therefore, failure to understand the difference between the RELIGIOUS (synagogue) thread and the CIVIL-MILITARY-PRIESTLY class will always lead to jumbling the two together.  God understood this and commanded that the Word be PREACHED by being READ: this would instill the values of the great Epics and give no room for anyone to invent a list of dogma or AIDS for God.

The godly people always assembled for instruction and were quarantined from the idolatry at the Temple.

God through Jacob made it virtually impossible for any godly person to ever get trapped in the "Jewish" system which had been abandoned to worship the starry host like other nationals.

CHRIS'T COVENANT WITH ABRAHAM

God in CHRIS
T made the only spiritual covenant with Abraham--a Gentile.  Paul affirms that this seed is Jesus Christ.

Gen. 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine,
        the LORD (JEHOVAH) appeared to Abram, and said unto him,
        I AM the Almighty God; walk before ME, and be thou perfect.
Gen. 17:2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

Gen 17:3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
Gen 17:4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee,
        and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
gens , gentis
D. In the widest sense = genus, the race; gens humana, the human race, Cic. Fin. 5, 23, 65; Hor. C. 1, 3, 26.—
c. In the eccl. fathers, gentes, like ethnos

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
        baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
        and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
That eleminates observing any of the Jewish rituals which had no spiritual value.

The Word was to go forth out of Zion radiating into ALL NATIONS: the Gospel was a GENTILE gospel where Jesus refused to recognize any Jewish superiority.
Matthew 28.19 poreuthentes oun mathēteusate panta ta ethnē, baptizontes autous eis to onoma tou patros kai tou huiou kai tou hagiou pneumatos,

1Chronicles 16:15 Be ye mindful always of his covenant;
        the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;
1Chronicles 16:16 Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham,
        and of his oath unto Isaac;  [Isaac was a gentis]
1Chronicles 16:17 And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law,
         and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,
1Chronicles 16:18 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;

1Chronicles 16:19 When ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it.
1Chronicles 16:20 And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;
1Chronicles 16:21 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,
1Chronicles 16:22 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
1Chronicles 16:23 Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.
1Chronicles 16:24 Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.

Gen 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram,
        but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations [genshave I made thee.
“the father of a multitude" (Hebrew: ʼaḇ-hămôn goyim ) H1471 go'ee, go'-ee
Apparently from the same root as H1465 (in the sense of massing); a foreign nation; hence a Gentile;
Gen 17:6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful,
        and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
Gen 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee
        and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant,
        to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

Gen 17:8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee,
        the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan,
        for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
Gen 17:9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore,
         thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

Because of Musical Idolatry at Mount Sinai God continued to have Christ lead them into the land promised to Abraham but because they had not keep The Book of The Law because of Musical Idolatry of the Egyptian triad, God sentenced them to captivity and death. Therefore, they passed through Canaan which promised land they made into the Killing Fields until God sent them Kings to carry out the sentence.  Those who were not faithful to the Covenant and were scattered, neither they NOR their dispersed seed 3,000 years later have any land claim.
Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made.
        He saith not, And to seeds, as of many;
        but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
Galatians 3:17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ,
        the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul,
        that it should make the promise of none effect.
Galatians 3:18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise:
        but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
Galatians 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law?
        It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made;
        and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed,
        and heirs according to the promise.
Genesis 18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him,
          and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment;
          that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

This would have been a Synagogue of Christ.  See number 16 to prove that Christ bypassed the Law of Moses completely.

2Kings 13:23 And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them,
          because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
          and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.

Remember
That Cain was of the wicked one and Paul said that Eve was totally deceived as a wife is taken before her husband

Also, Acts 7 God turned them over to the worship of the starry host.  This was the prevailing paganism well documented in Greek and Latin text who understood the BABYLON ROOTS to which the Jews were abandoned.

The Levites--an old Egyprian infant burning sect--were under the KING and commanders of the Army.

The Worship of the Starry host is well defined in the Greek and Latin literature.

Verg. A. 11.660
Swift through the midmost slaughter proudly strides
the quiver-girt Camilla, with one breast
thrust naked to the fight, like Amazon.
Oft from her hand her pliant shafts she rains,
or whirls with indefatigable arm
a doughty battle-axe; her shoulder bears
Diana's sounding [sŏno] arms and golden bow.
Sometimes retreating and to flight compelled,
the maiden with a rearward-pointing bow
shoots arrows as she flies. Around her move
her chosen peers, Larina, virgin brave,
Tarpeia, brandishing an axe of bronze,
and Tulla, virgins out of Italy
whom the divine Camilla chose to be
her glory, each a faithful servitress
in days of peace or war. The maids of Thrace
ride thus along Thermodon's frozen flood,
and fight with blazoned Amazonian arms
around Hippolyta; or when returns
Penthesilea in triumphal car
'mid acclamations shrill, [Ulŭlo halal] and all her host
of women clash in air the moon-shaped shield.

        and burned the chariots of the sun with fire.

"Ezekiel was particularly aghast at the sun worship there and a Canaanite fertility cult, which he calls 'weeping for Tammuz. The Tammuz cult in the temple was being practiced by women, and it appears that they must bear their full share of responsibility for introducing heathen practices into Israel... to the bad record of women may be added the activities of Solomon's wives who imported worship of the gods of Moab and Ammon, and of Jezebel, the wife of Ahab, who brought with her from Phoenicia the cult of the Tyrian Baal." (Heaton, E. W., Everyday Life in the Old Testament, p. 231-232, Scribners)

        and cast the dust of them into the brook Kidron.

(3) Chamman ("sun-image"):

chamman, the King James Version "images," "idols"; the Revised Version (British and American) "sun-images" (Leviticus 26:30; 2 Chronicles 14:5; 34:4,7; Isaiah 17:8; 27:9; Ezekiel 6:4,6):

This worship may originally have come from Babylonia, but the reverence of the sun under the name Baal-hamman had long been common in Palestine before Joshua and the Israelites entered the country. These sun-images were probably obelisks or pillars connected with the worship of some local Baal. The chariot and horses of the sun, mentioned (2 Kings 23:11) as having an honored place at the western entrance of the Jerusalem Temple, represented not a local but a foreign cult. In Babylonian temples, sacrifices were made to the sun-chariot, which seems to have had a special significance in time of war (Pinches, HDB, IV, 629; see also CHARIOTS OF THE SUN).

Gen. 49:6 O my soul,
        come not thou into their secret;
        unto their assembly,
        mine honour,
        be not thou united:
                for in their anger they slew a man,
                and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.
Gen. 49:7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel:
        I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
Divido I. To force asunder, part, separate, divide (very freq. and class.; cf.: distribuo, dispertio; findo, scindo, dirimo, divello, separo, sejungo, segrego, secerno).

THE WARNING IN THE NEW TESTAMENT WHICH IS THE RESOURCE FOR CHRISTIANS

After the demise of the sacrificial system after the Return the people continued to assemble in the Synagogue which was the Church of Christ in the Wilderness. It's only role for those baptized unto Moses and who did not fall into musical idolatry is defined and never changed:

Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time
        hath in every city them that preach him,
        being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

In the New Covenant we are baptized into Christ and assemble (ekklesia, synagogue) for the same purpose.

Romans 15:1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak,
         and not to please ourselves. [this excludes all of the hypocritic or performing arts0
Romans 15:2 Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
Romans 15:3 For even Christ pleased not himself;
        but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning,
        that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Romans 15:5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
Romans 15:6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 15:7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

The writers of the epistles commanded that they  be READ and not disected into songs and sermons.

However, as Christ warns about the "Lying pen of the scribes" writing about the temple, the same groups not only refused to listen to Christ in the Prophets they murdered the prophets.

Luke 11:44 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!
        for ye are as graves which appear not,
        and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.
Jesus quoted Isaiah and Ezekiel to give the hypocrites NAMES.
Ezekiel 33:30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people
        still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses,
        and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying,
        Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.
Ezekiel 33:31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh,
        and they sit before thee as my people,
        and they hear thy words,
                but they will not do them:
        for with their mouth they shew much love,
                but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
Ezekiel 33:32 And, lo, thou art unto them
        as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice,
        and can play well on an instrument:
         for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
Ezekiel 33:33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,)
         then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
Luke 11:45 Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him,
        Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.
Luke 11:46 And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! f
        or ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne,
        and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.
Luke 11:47 Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
Luke 11:48 Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers:
         for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.
Luke 11:49 Therefore also said the wisdom of God,
        I will send them prophets and apostles,
        and some of them they shall slay and persecute:
Luke 11:50 That the blood of all the prophets,
        which was shed from the foundation of the world,
        may be required of this generation;
Luke 11:51 From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias,
        which perished between the altar and the temple:
        verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.
Luke 11:52
Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge:
        ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.
Luke 11:53 And as he said these things unto them,
        the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently,
        and to provoke him to speak of many things:
Luke 11:54 Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.

God abandoned the Civil-Military-Clergy complex over to worship the Starry Host: that is what they worshipped even if they called the golden calf their "god."  They burdened both Jews and Gentiles with ceremonial legalism and stealing the work product of people to support the sacriificial system which God did not command but permitted as He was transporting them back to Assyria and Babylon.

However, the ROOTS are in the Covenant made to Abraham by God in CHRIST: The Qahal or synagogue was The Church of Christ in the Wilderness. This quarantined all of the godly people and many Gentiles from the Sun and Astrial deity worship at the Temple. The only thing Jesus changes was to prescribed the Reading Resource and to add the Lord's Supper as a teaching act confessing that He died for us.

The "corner stone" among the Religious Pagans was an inner corner: that is where all of the secret rituals took place hidden from the people they fleeced to satisfy their flesh and blood lust.   No citizen--not even Jesus--could see what went on from the inner court into the holy place and most holy place. They would be defined by the Levites who were Soothsayers making instrumental noise to hide the evil cries of the innocent lambs which God never commandef from the priests.

Jesus became the CHIEF or HEAD stone and He declared that there was nothing hidden from the common people. Jesus NEVER used rhetoric, singing or instruments to CLOUD the mind so that they could not properly judge the moronic rituals the merchants of the Word pour forth.
Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
        Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Ephesians 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
Ephesians 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. [ours]
Ephesians 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men,
        as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
Revelation 18:20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven,  [The "Babylon" mother of harlots]
        and ye holy apostles and prophets;
        for God hath avenged you on her.
Peter defined the building or teaching resources as the PROPHETS by the Spirit OF (preposition) Christ and the prophecies made more perfect by Jesus Christ, revealed to the apostles with signs and wonders, and the apostles left us their "memory" declared that not subject to private interpretation (further expounding) and MARKED as false teachers those who do not teach The Prophets and Apostles where Christ left the ANTITHESIS to the Law of Moses.

"Joseph Shulam was born in Sofia, Bulgaria on March 24, 1946. His family immigrated to Israel in 1948, where they settled in Jerusalem."  Because of the dispersions most are not semites.  At any rate there is nothing in the Jewish blood line that would give them superiority in reading and teaching the Word of God. Christianity is commanded to teach what Jesus comanded to be taught: Peter identifies that as the Prophets inspired by the Spirit OF Christ and the prophecies made more certain.  Those who are not satisfied with that should not pretend that "Jewish Fables" have any authority in the School of Christ.

Joseph Shulam: Every person has a variety of identities, particularly their personal and national identities. Neither of the two offers a lot of room for maneuvering, despite the fact that since the Enlightenment in Europe and the Declaration of Independence in the United States, there is a strong feeling in the West that identity is a private issue, open to free choice any time of the day or night. In fact, a person’s identity is primarily determined by his national, cultural, ethnic, linguistic and faith affiliations. Most of these affiliations are attributed to a person, regardless of his personal preferences, before he ever draws his first breath.

Gentiles have the same false view that their culture and preferences have a way of trumping what is defined in the Bible. Whatever you think of the collected books they are defined by Scripture as the commanded resource to edify or educate people. Great epics are cantillated to tell the recorded history of people and in the telling and retelling a nation absorbs the qualities of justice and righteousness.  There is no way to compose jigsaw songs and sermons without radically changing the Word which claims to be from God.

Individual believers are grafted into the roots of the Abrahamic covenant made by God in Christ.  The blessing to all nations involved teaching and not binding them to a sacrificial system to feed the priesthod.  Since Abraham was a Gentile and Paul declares that after baptism we become a son of Abraham, there can be no DETOURS into any personal experience. Paul outlawed doubtul disputations which are private opinions and commanded us to "use one mind and one mouth to speak that which is written for our learning." This is the ONLY way to glorify or praise God.

Abraham was a Gentile as were all of the descendants of Noah: Jew first appears in Esther 2:5 and Jews first appears in 2 Kings 16:6
  1. Abraham was a Chaldean from Ur: he was a "national" or Gentile.
  2. "Isaac was Abraham's son. Isaac was a Shemite and a Hebrew, but not an Israelite or a Jew because neither existed yet.
  3. A vitally important fact in understanding Bible Prophecy is that while all Jews are Israelites, not all Israelites are Jews. All are Hebrews, but only the descendants of Judah are Jews."
  4. The word "Judean" (later shortened to "Jew) refers to those who lived in this area. The term "Jew" is from the Greek word "ioudaios" (Strong's no. 2453). It is actually short for the word Judean or, more accurately, Ioudas, pronounced ee-oo-dah-yos. A person is termed Jewish:
  5. Later, the Israelites intermarried with pagans of various nationalities. It is evident that "Jewishness" is not a matter of genetics. There actually is no distinct Jewish race; rather, there is a Jewish culture. The origin of the Jews / Israelites is not a matter of race. Resource
Jacob never ceased being a Chaldean to becoming a "Jew" or Judean. I think that means that the people of Judea were the Jews and those who swarmed over them were Gentiles.

Baptism or Conversion or Regeneration means TO MAKE A NEW MAN: we cannot be a nationalistic Christian.  You can't remove the circumcision of the flesh but you can remove the Leaven of the Jews. Paul said that you must put the fleshly body to death before you can be baptized into Christ.

Titus 1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
Titus 1:13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
Titus 1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
Vocal and Instrumental music was produced by the Levites "to make the lambs dumb before the slaughter." This was outlawed for the Synagogue. Jewish Fables were musical productions in order to fleece the godly lambs.  Jews who become Christians or "disciples of Christ" do not engage in anything that detracts from the Word.  While "messianic Jews" claim the right to violate that law of common decency, Disciples understand that they need to sit down and shut up:

The washing of water was at baptism. Therefore, it is important to define the meaning of words. We are baptized and added to the Church as disciples OF Christ and BY Christ. Our spirits are translated into a heavenly kingdom and we seek to sacrifice our flesh so we can worship rationally (of the Word) which is in our own spirit or mind.

That was the Covenant made by God in Christ to Abraham: we are baptized into Christ and enabled to hear the Word of Christ.

Why would anyone who is baptized into a NEW NATION born in one day and made into a NEW PERSON need to hold on to Jewish prejudices which also plagued the early church.

Joseph Shulam: Imagine a tall, blond, blue-eyed man enters this auditorium and in a perfectly clear voice declares: “I am a black African.” I have no doubt that all the eyes in the room will raise their eyebrows in bewilderment and interpretations will begin to circulate, such as: “He only thinks that he is black!”

Imagine a tall, blond, blue-eyed man declares "I am a Jew." Well, we know that he is not a semite.  If he is connected to the Law, the Temple and Jerusalem then we know that he may be an Edomite when Jesus came to save us from that crooked race.

The Black African thesis seems to continue so that if you have a tiny fraction of black blood then you classify yourself and others classify you as Black. The same thing happens in the so-called "Jewish Identity." No one can define a Jew but generally a Jew is one who practices the religion of the Jews. The fact is that people still clinging to Jewish superiority may have little to no Semite Blood out of Abraham through Isaac and Jacob.

We have shown and will continue to show that the lawless people legislated to control them and which are defined by what Christ calls Hypocrites and "the Lying Pen of the Scribe" are NOT part of the WAY. The WAY of the Lord was always secreted and protected from the  Jesish (Edomite etc) roots.

CHRISTIAN ROOTS ARE FIRMLY BASED ON THE COVENANT BY GOD IN CHRIST TO ABRAHAM

The word ISRAEL defines the believers who are under the covenant made by God in Christ to Abraham 430 years BEFORE the Law of Moses and was NOT affected by the Law as a curse to legislate the lawless and protect the poor.

Spiritual Israel comes from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Gen 25:19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac:
Gen 25:20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife,
        the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
Gen 25:21 And Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren:
        and the LORD was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceive
Gen. 25:22 And the children struggled together within her;
        and she said, If it be so, why am I thus?
        And she went to inquire of the LORD.
Gen. 25:23 And the LORD said unto her,
        Two nations are in thy womb,
        and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels;
        and the one people shall be stronger than the other people;
        and the elder shall serve the younger.

CHRISTIAN ROOTS INCLUDE THE NEW TESTAMENT.

Not just "arabs" were the bad nation: as Esau is defined as a nation..

Hagar actually includes the Law of Moses given at Mount Sinai where
God turned them over to worship the starry host. She represents the JEWISH thread running through the Old and New Testament in contrast to the godly people under the Abrahamic covenant which was the God in Christ or Christian roots.

Christ warned that truth had been hidden from the foundation from the Jewish clergy of His day (Matthew 13).

Now, fast forward to Paul who connects THE FAITH to Abraham and NOT to the Law which was HAGAR and ESAU and SINAI and JERUSALEM and SODOM and the end time harlot religion with her musical locusts trying to silence the Isaacs of the world.

The SEED (singular) of Abraham either nationally or specific is not connected this race of people.

FULFILLED: Jacob was not a Jew and he warned and prophesied for the godly people:

Gal. 4:21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law,
        do ye not hear the law?
Gal. 4:22 For it is written,
        that Abraham had two sons,
        the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
Gal. 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman
        was born after the flesh;
        but he of the freewoman was by promise.
While claiming that the Arabs are the mortal enemy, since God often speaks in parables to fool the clergy and in allegories, HAGAR is the mother of everything defended as Jewish Roots.
Gal. 4:24 Which things are an allegory:
        for these are the two covenants;
        the one from the mount Sinai,
        which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
Gal. 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia,
        and answereth to Jerusalem which now is,
        and is in bondage with her children.
This repudiates Joseph Shulam claiming that the most important thing is the fact that the first congregation in Jerusalem, as described in the pages of the New Covenant, was a Messianic Jewish congregation, which was 100% faithful to our Lord Yeshua and 100% faithful to the Torah of Israel.

THERE IS NOT A SINGLE THING COMMANDED FOR A CHURCH OF CHRIST OUT OF THE OLD TESTAMENT BUT THE SYNAGOGUE OF CHRIST ORDAINED IN THE ONLY SPIRITUAL COVENANT MADE BY GOD IN CHRIST.

There is not a single example anywhere of the godly Jews engaging in congregational singing with instrumental accompaniment. By absolute command they would PREACH the word by READING the Word and discussing it: they were disciples and not ceremonial legalists.

CANCEL JERUSALEM AND ALL OF ITS WORSHIP THE STARRY HOST: Jesus was murdered in Jerusalem but He often went OUT of the Jew''s territory.

After David numbered the people and could not be redeemed, God did not let him be killed: He gave David an old Jebusite High place alreaddy operating as a center for the worship of the starry host.  Therefore, if you try to restore JERUSALEM ROOTS you are not under the Covenant made by God in Christ to Abraham. The godly Jews did not go to Jerusalem on the sabbath or REST day but rested from pagan worship of the Starry Host always on the superstitious seventh day. They attended synagogue while the Jewish Roots were profaning the Sabbath (Rest, not Saturday).
Gal. 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free,
        which is the mother of us all.
Gal. 4:27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry,
        thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

Gal. 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Gal. 4:29 But as then he that
        was born after the flesh
        persecuted him that was born after the Spirit,
        even so it is now.
Gal. 4:30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture?
        Cast out the bondwoman and her son:
        for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
Gal. 4:31 So then, brethren,
        we are not children of the bondwoman,
        but of the free.
Jewish Identity, Hebraic Roots and other forms of Judaism is Mount Sinai, bondage, Hagar, and Jerusalem SHALL NOT be heir of those under the Covenant made with Abraham by God in Christ and therefore the Church of Christ in the wilderness The godly people had God deny "faith only" but were told to walk through the Red Sea where they were baptized INTO the school of Moses. The Holy Spirit of Christ followed them as the Pillar and the Rock.

JEWISH ROOTS APPEALS PRIMARILY TO THE SACRIFICIAL SYSTEM OPERATED BY  THE TRIBE OF LEVI

Christian Roots from Abraham were then and after Christ  "outside the walls" or "outside the camp."

National or Racial identity was not something established by God: Abraham was a Gentile and there were no other distinctions based on accidental DNA--real or pretended.  God in Christ commanded Abraham to be a Blessing to all nations which spread out into the world.  That Covenant made by God in Christ was given by God in the form of The Book of The Covenant.   The separation of some Israelites from  godly humanity happened because of musical idolatry of the same STAR worship or Sabazian always practiced by the Civil-Military-Clergy complex.  God gave The Book of The Law because the "Jews" refused to obey the Covenant of Grace to all nations.  At the same time He sentenced them to captivity and death in Assyria and Babylon.  The land promise was forfeited then and there because it was a CONDITIONAL promise.

This separation was made clear after the musical idolatry at Mount Sinai. God ordained the Levites to stand in ranks to make a loud noise to warn the godly peoplle away from the HOLOCAUST inside the walls of Jerusalem. When they prophesied with instruments the meaning is that they were SOOTHSAYERS with noise NOT PERMITTED in the Church of Christ in the Wilderness.

The Spirit of Christ wrote the ANTITHESIS to the Jewish THESIS which was identical to the Egyptian, Greek, Canaanite and Babylonian NATIONAL system to which God abandoned them and promosed no redemption. See First Samuel Eight

Isa 28:14 Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.

Is.28:15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death,
        and with hell are we at agreement;
        when the overflowing scourge shall pass through,
it shall not come unto us:
        for we have
made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves

"A vital focus of questioning was the world of the dead. The recently deceased might exert influence on the living for good or for bad. Offerings to the dead, which were required by custom, were intended, among other purposes, to make them well disposed. People occasionally deposited with their offerings a letter telling the deceased of their problems and asking for assistance. A few of these letters are complaints to the deceased person, alleging that he or she is afflicting the writer. This written communication with the dead was confined to the very few literate members of the population, but it was probably part of a more widespread oral practice. Some tombs of prominent people acquired minor cults that may have originated in frequent successful recourse to them for assistance. Britannica Online

The Marzeah in Amos 5

"The marzeah had an extremely long history extending at least from the 14th century B.C. through the Roman period. In the 14th century B.C., it was prominently associated with the ancient Canaanite city of Ugarit (modern Ras Shamra), on the coast of Syria...[note the source of many of the warrior chant psalms]

The marzeah was a pagan ritual that took the form of a social and religious association... Some scholars regard the funerary marzeah as a feast for--and with--deceased ancestors (or Rephaim, a proper name in the Bible for the inhabitants of Sheol)." (King, Biblical Archaeological Review, Aug, 1988, p. 35, 35)

"These five elements are: (1) reclining or relaxing, (2) eating a meat meal, (3) singing with harp or other musical accompaniment, (4) drinking wine and (5) anointing oneself with oil." (King, p. 37).

"we recognize the same elements: the sacrifices and libation, the cultic feast in which the congregation gets a share of food and drink after it has been blessed by the king, and the merry-making, now in the form of instrumental and vocal music. But the central act of the ritual, which was performed by the king, is called literally 'drinking' the god (Gurney, O. R. Some Aspects of Hittite Religion, p. 33-34, Oxford University Press, 1977)

"The normal order of events was a meal, followed by a drinking party. Entertainment might include anything from a rhetorcian or philosopher discoursing on some topic, to musical entertainment, to sexual dalliance."

"Plutarch implicitly contrasts a serious dinner featuring a sage as the after-dinner speaker with the other sorts of dinners--where sexual play with the girl flute-players or hetairae was common." (Witherington, Ben, Why Not Idol Meat, Bible Review, June 1994, p. 41-42).

Isa 28:17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet:

Isa 28:18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled,

Jesus came to PUT DOWN the Jewish claim to superiority so that everyone can be ONE IN CHRIST.  We might say, I am different: I am a Messianic Frenchman. Wow, that still hurts like all of the people were hurt before Jesus came to disabuse the Jews that they were chosen because they were superior. The command to Abraham was that his disciples (not Jews) be a BLESSING to all nations.  The promise made to Abraham in the sense of a Land Promise expired the day the Israelites ROSE UP against God at Mount Sinai in the musical idolatry of Apis the Calf an image of the Egyptian Trinity.  The Levites were priests of the worship of Molech in Egypt and never ceased.

Joseph Shulam: “Maybe he was born in Africa and his parents gave him the name ‘Black’.” “Perhaps he’s impersonating a black person?” “He’s only teasing us!” However, it would be clear to all of us that regarding the question of identity, here we are talking about something peculiar and irregular.

Maybe he says that he is a "Jew" but a Jew is a religious distinction: the people in Canaan are not Semites to any extent. Assuredly at the time of Christ many Israelites had fled Jerusalem. If he says that he is a Jew but his DNA says that he is a German then he has no claim to the Land Promise and God proved it by destroying the not-commanded temple three times.

Joseph Shulam: Every person has different types of identity:

a) His national identity, which is usually not acquired: a child who is taken from his parents in infancy and raised by strangers acquires the identity of his adoptive parents and the place where he is raised.

b) One’s personal identity is given to acquisition and change. For example, a person may study a profession and add another characteristic to his identity. A son is born to a man and he becomes a father, thus acquiring another characteristic of his identity and even a new name. A person receives a doctorate from university and his identity changes, etc.

The School of Christ which has no "religious observations" to find the kingdom is COUNTER-CULTURAL.  If you think that your culture can change a jot or tittle of the Word of God then you are in a lot of trouble.

Joseph Shulam: An individual’s personal identity derives from the following sources:

a) The history that a person shares in common with his environment, including culture, language, and national and personal vision.

b) The public opinion that shapes the character and behavioral patterns of the individual.

c) The willingness of a person to live in society and participate in community life and the personal sacrifice of the group to which he belongs. This might be the Lutheran, Methodist or Catholic Church or perhaps Islam, Buddhism or Judaism. A person’s professional association, his guild, also attributes identity to a person; at times even the clothes that he wears are part of his identity.

Ephesians 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity,
        even the law of commandments contained in ordinances;
        for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

If Joe wants to live like a first century Jew there is no objection.  If he takes pay to teach the Word or uses music to "make the lamb dumb before the slaughter" or observes festivals which were  Warrior Aged Musters, then maybe the enmity is still there.

The Synagogue was popular with all nations because it was distinct from all animal slaughter religions where the priests lived off YOUR land and was A School of the Word as a system of EDUCATION ONLY. Romans 14 insists that your IDENTITY be left in the marketplace so the synagogue could take place in Romans 15 which was reading "that which is written for our learning."

THAT IS THE THESIS OF THE JEWS, JESUS AND PAUL REPUDIATED: the rituals under the Law had NO redeeming or Spirit cleansing power. If you return to Jewish Roots you will return to a Civil-Military-Clergy complex Christ called robbers and parasites. Those oppressed were the godly Jews which had no role to play in the abandonment to blood and flesh lust.

Acts 15:9 And put no difference between us and them,
        purifying their hearts by faith.
Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ
        unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek:
        for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

The National Identity of the People of God in the Holy Scriptures must be turned loose. That was the plague in the first century church.

Joseph Shulam: The Bible recognizes the identity of the people of Israel as the people of God. In no place in the Old or New Covenants is there a divesting of the Israeli nation from their position as the people of God – in the past, the present, or the future. The same principle applies to all of the Land of Israel, and particularly to Jerusalem.

The northern tribes of Israel were taken into Assyrian captivity and evaporated off the pages of Scripture and history.
The tribe of Judah was worse than Israel in the worship of the stars and were later taken into captivity where the death sentence imposed at Mount Sinai was consumated.  National Judaism has no claim on the land of Canaan especially where the Semite blood is about as thin as my French blood. Being chased out of France does not give me any land claim by now.

Israel does not means Jews: Israel spaks of those under the Covenant  God in Christ made with Abraham.  Only those who are baptized into Christ connect to the Abrahamic Covenent (Gal 3)

Isaiah 4:2 In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious,
        and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
Isaiah 4: 3 And it shall come to pass,
        that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem,
        shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:

Isaiah 4: 4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion,
        and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof
        by the spirit of judgment,
        and by the spirit of burning
Isaiah 4:5 And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion,
        and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day,
         and the shining of a flaming fire by night:
        for upon all the glory shall be a defence.
Isaiah 4:6 And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat,
        and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.

Dwelling: 168. ohel, o´-hel; from 166; a tent (as clearly conspicuous from a distance):—covering, (dwelling)(place), home, tabernacle, tent.

Assembly: 4744. miqra, mik-raw´; from 7121; something called out, i.e. a public meeting (the act, the persons, or the place); also a rehearsal:  assembly, calling, convocation, reading.

Of those who returned there was only a tiny remnant which were "still alive in Jerusalem" at the time of Christ.  Israel is now a spiritual nation where the kingdom of God cannot be located on the earth. The land covenant was conditional: the nation of Israel violated the covenant before the ink could dry on The Book of the Covenant.

The only spiritual covenant was made by God in Christ to Abraham. Abraham was not a "Jew" and he was justified by keeping the laws of God in effect at that time.  God turned the national system over to "worship the starry host" because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai. The Bible and the Jewish Encyclopedia agree that the sacrificial system which God had not commanded at a literal temple God did not command was the "worship of the starry host." If God abandoned them to worship the starry host just what are the nameS of the starry host worshiped at the Temple from which the godly Israelites were quarantined. They attended the Qahal, synagogue or Church of Christ in the wilderness.

THE JEWISH ROOTS WAS A FATAL DETOUR FROM THE GODLY CLASSES STILL TAUGHT BY CHRIST IN THE SYNAGOGUES.

Under "Star Worship" the Jewish Encyclopedia states:

"Star Worship" is perhaps the oldest form of idolatry practiced by the ancients. The observation of the stars in the East very early led the people to regard the planets and the fixed stars as gods. The religion of the ancient Egyptians is known to have consisted preeminently of Sun-worship. Moses sternly warned the Israelites against worshipping the Sun, Moon, stars, and all the hosts of heaven (Deuteronomy 4:19; 17:3). The Israelites fell into this kind of idolatry and as early as the time of Amos they had the images of Siccuth and Chium, 'the stars of their god' (Amos 5:26); the latter name is generally supposed to denote the planet Saturn. That the Kingdom of Israel fell earlier than that of Judah is stated (II Kings 17:16) to have been due, among other causes, to its worshipping the host of heaven.

But the Kingdom of Judah in its later period seems to have outdone the Northern Kingdom [Israel] in star-worship." Of Manasseh it is related that he built altars to all the hosts of heaven in the two courts of the house of YHWY, and it seems it was the practice of even Kings before him to appoint priests who offered sacrifices to the Sun, the Moon, the planets, and all the hosts of heaven. Altars for star-worship were built on the roofs of the houses, and horses and chariots were dedicated to the worship of the Sun. (II Kings 21:5; 23:4-5, 11-12) Star-worship continued in Judah until the 18th year of Josiah's reign (621 B.C.) when the King took measures to abolish all kinds of idolatry. But although star-worship was then abolished as a public cult, it was practiced privately by individuals who worshipped the heavenly bodies, and poured out libations to them on the roofs of their houses (Zephaniah 1:5; Jeremiah 8:2; 19:13)  Jeremiah, who prophesied in the sixth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin (591 B.C.) describes the worship of the Sun as practiced in the court of the Temple (Ezekiel 8:16) and that even after the destruction of the Temple the women insisted on continuing to worship the Queen of Heaven.

"The ancient Hebrews, being nomads like the Arabs, favored the Moon, while the Babylonians, who were an agricultural nation, preferred the Sun. But, as appears from Ezekiel 20:7-8 the Moon-worship of the Israelites, even while they were still in Egypt was combined with Sun-worship."
HOW CAN YOU BE A DISCIPLE AND MISS IT:

> For I spake NOT unto your fathers, nor commanded them
        in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt,
       concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: Jeremiah 7:22

> But this thing commanded I them, saying,
       Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people:
       and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you,
       that it may be well unto you. Jeremiah 7:23

> But they HEARKENED NOT, nor inclined their ear,
       but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart,
       and went backward, and not forward. Jeremiah 7:24

But since ancient grace sleeps, and mortals are forgetful of whatever does not reach the highest bloom of skillful song, joined to glorious streams of words, [20] then begin the victory procession with a sweet-singing hymn for Strepsiades;

        and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?

Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the Lord your God. Ezekiel 20: 7

But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt:

THE NEW TESTAMENT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TRIBE OF LEVI:

John knew that the Jewish Roots were an evil detour from the Church of Christ ordained by the Rock to be a School of the Word and quarantined from the Levite roots at the slaughter pits.
Matthew 3:5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
Matthew 3:6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
Matthew 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism,
         he said unto them, O generation of vipers,
        who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Matthew 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
Matthew 3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father:
        for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
Matthew 3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees:
        therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance:
        but he that cometh after me is mightier than I,
        whose shoes I am not worthy to bear:
        he shall baptize YOU with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

The sign in the upper room was of Wind (spirit) and Fire: this was a judgmental sign that God made Jesus of Nazareth to be the sole king and priests over HIS kingdom. This was to proovide REST from the laded burdens and burden laders of the Jewish clergy.

Matthew 3:12 Whose fan is in his hand,
        and he will throughly purge his floor,
        and gather his wheat into the garner;
        but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
History says that a million Jews who still refused to listen to God in Christ experienced a holocaust at the garbage pit called "HELL."
Jesus affirms the Covenant made by Christ (the Rock) made with Abraham: He does not say that he is the God of the nation because he sentenced them to Assyria and Babylon to captivity and death.
Matthew 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
         God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

The Jews treated Jesus as a mortal enemy:
John 8:59 Then took they up stones to cast at him:
        but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple,
        going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
John 10:31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

Why would anyone think that Jesus continued to worship like the Jews?
Christ speaks through the prophets and apostles: in the prophets he warns about the Lying Pen of the Scribes and calls them hypocrites.

Acts 3:25 Ye are the children of the prophets,
        and of the covenant which God made with our fathers,
        saying unto Abraham,
        And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

Galatians 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you,
        that ye should not obey the truth,
        before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
Galatians 3:2 This only would I learn of you,
        Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Galatians 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit,
        are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
Galatians 3:4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
Galatians 3:5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit,
        and worketh miracles among you,
        doeth he it by the works of the law,

Paul continued to connect the Christian Roots to Abraham and not to the cursed detour of the Jews where "Jew" does not necessarily define a semite or a descendant of the sacred blood line from Abrham downward.

Gentiles were never under the Law of Moses which engendered pride and prevented them from being grafted into the Abraham-Christ stock.

        that he should be the heir of the world,
        was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law,
        but through the righteousness of faith.

Joseph Shulam:  The national identity of “God’s people” is always Israel.
         It remains Israel in the New Covenant and also at the second coming of the Messiah. According to the prophecies, the return of the Messiah is a return to Israel, the people of Israel and to Jerusalem. The Gentiles join the people of Israel. In the parable of the olive tree, the Gentiles are grafted on to the natural, cultivated tree, but not in place of the pruned and burnt branches.

The Gentiles were not grafted into Judaism but THE FAITH of Abraham: that's why Paul leapfrogs the whole Monarchy and reconnects to the Covenant made by God in Christ to Abraham.

The Covenant made with Abraham preceded the Law and later Jewish traditions. Jesus fulfilled the terms of the law by being murdered by the Jews using the Romans.  We must DIE to thelaw so that we may be joined to Jesus.

Galatians 3:6 Even as Abraham believed God,
         and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
Galatians 3:7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith,
        the same are the children of Abraham.
Galatians 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith,
         preached before the gospel unto Abraham,
         saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
Galatians 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

The Christian Gospel give REST from the laded burden and burden laders. If you conduct synagogue or School (only) of the Word (only) then no godly disciple could object to assemblying with Gentiles where all doubtful disputations or personal opinions are silenced in Romans 14 so you can use ONE mind and ONE mouth to speak "that which is written for our learning." (Romans 15

Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse:
        for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

THE FAITH was pronounced by God in Christ to Abraham.  The Christian system was alwatys ANTITHETICAL to THE LAW.

Galatians 3:12 And the law is not of faith:
        but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law,
        being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Galatians 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham
        might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ;
        that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

As long as THE LAW continued then all Gentiles knew that they were held captive by the pedagogues or tyrants.

THE FAITH or the Christian System was violently opposed by the Jews who killed the Prophets who spoke by the Spirit OF CHRIST.
God made Jesus of Nazareth to be both Lord and Christ so that the fulness of Deity dwelled in him.  The cross was the final sacrificial act which proved to the Jews that the virtual sacrifice of their "gods" really happened when they murdered Jesus. This defanged the Jewish Roots and proved that they were NOT by God's command but a curse.

Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Romans 10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of Gods righteousness,
        and going about to establish their own righteousness,
        have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Romans 10:5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law,
        That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

The Gentiles were grafted into is Abraham and Israel which is spiritual Israel: the Jews were PRUNED AWAY from any Abrahamic Root to prove that they were NOT superior but rested on their own self-righteousness.

Romans 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid.
        For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

Paul connects his Israelite roots to ABRAHAM and not to the tribe of Levi.

Romans 11:2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew.
        Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias?
        how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
Romans 11:3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars;
        and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

See the prophecy of Jacob above.

Romans 11:4 But what saith the answer of God unto him?
        I have reserved to myself seven thousand men,
        who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
Romans 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
Romans 11:6 And if by grace,
        then is it no more of works: [The Law]
        otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works,
        then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Romans 11:7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for;
        but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
Romans 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber,
        eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

Romans 11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree,
        wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
Romans 11:19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.

The Jews were BROKEN OFF and Gentiles were grafted into the ROOT: Gentiles are not grafted into the Jews once they have been deprived of connection to the root. if a Jew wants to be spiritual Israel they must be baptized into Christ to become a son of Abraham.

Romans 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief,
        shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
Romans 11:24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature,
        and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these,
        which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

Gentiles were not LOST because they had never been under the JUDGMENT of the Law of Moses. They were not natural seed of Abraham

THE UNBELIEVING JEWS ARE NOT AND NEVER WERE SPIRITUAL ISRAEL.

Romans 9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
Romans 9:2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
Romans 9:3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren,
        my kinsmen according to the flesh:

Most were only Israelites according ot the flesh which counted for nothing

Romans 9:4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants,
         and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
Romans 9:5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came,
        who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
Romans 9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect.
        For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
Romans 9:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children:
        but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Romans 9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh,
        these are not the children of God:
        but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

JEWS ARE GRAFTED INTO ABRAHAM ON THE SAME TERMS AS GENTILES

Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:27 For [what I mean is] as many of you
        as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek,
        there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female:
        for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ’s,
        then are ye Abraham’s seed,
        and heirs according to the promise.

Joseph Shulam:  Jewish identity should be defined by the Jewish People and not by a group of Gentile missionaries disguising themselves as Jews

That's true: but the Bible is defines the experience of MANY nations with God.  There is no DNA so superior that it can change the Word of God.  Church or Synagoge is a school (only) of the Word of God in Christ (only).  This SEPARATED the godly Israelites from the Jacob-Cursed tribe of Levi. One's identity cannot modify the Old and New Testament.

However, in Romans 14 you have to set aside your doubtful disputations or cultural preferences which have nothing to do with edifying or educating God's children.

Joseph Shulam:  Jewish identity should be defined by the Jewish People and not by a group of Gentile missionaries disguising themselves as Jews.

Evangelical Missionary Building Boon in Jerusalem
But here’s the catch… Shulam doesn’t think Jews need missionaries…well…sort of…

“We all appreciate what the missionaries have done. Most of the Jewish believers in my generation became believers through a Christian missionary, pastor or individual. And we appreciate it very much. But now we have matured. But the Christian missionaries have never said ‘now you are on your own, you can make your own decisions, we trust you’. That has happened in Africa, in China, but not with the Jews. So the best thing is that they go home now. And I believe that we can present Jesus to our people just fine…I think it is a primary thing, for Christians to support Israel, but is a different thing than sending missionaries, dominating the local believers but rather dealing with them as brothers in Yeshua.”

But Joseph Shulam exposes a problem that runs very deep. The many millions of dollars in funding for all of these missionary messianic institutions in Israel is coming from the evangelical “Christian Zionist” communities in America. And they just won’t go home and leave Israel alone…ever.

It is possible to be a religious Jew but not be a Semite: Most are probably Europeans.

A person cannot say that he is a “carpenter” if he has never held a hammer, nail, saw or awl in his life. If a person has never in his life made a bureau or wardrobe or table or door or any other thing that carpenters make in their daily labor, he cannot call himself a“carpenter.”The Apostle Shaul, in a biting argument with his opponents, said: “But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Messiah. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Messiah Yeshua my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Messiah” (Philippians 3:7-8). But at the same time, he knew who he was and his identity: “I was circumcised on the eighth day, of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; concerning the Torah, a Pharisee; concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the Torah, blameless” (Philippians 3:5-6).

JOE MISSED THE FIRST PART OF THE CHAPTER:

Philippians 3:1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord.
        To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.
Philippians 3:2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

Those once of the circumcision NOW Worship God IN THE SPIRIT and not IN THE FLESH. The mutilators took pride in extreme circumcision.

Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in THE spirit,
        and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
Philippians 3:4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh.
        If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
Philippians 3:5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin,
        an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
Philippians 3:6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church;
        touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
Philippians 3:7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss
        for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:
        for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

It would not be wise to suggest that Paul still defends his wholly erroneous faith system as a Jew.

IF PAUL COUNTED HIS ROOTS LOSS IN ORDER TO HAVE A HOLY SPIRIT AND LEARN OF CHRIST WHY ARE SO MANY TRYING TO UNDO THE CHRISTIAN ROOTS WHICH WAS TO THE COVENANT MADE WITH ABRAHAM AND NOT WITH THE JEWS?

Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven;
        from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Philippians 3:21 Who shall change our vile body,
        that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body,
        according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

PAUL WAS APOLOGIZING NOT BOASTING OF SUPERIORITY.

IN ROMANS 9-11 PAUL REPUDIATES THE SUPERIORITY AND PREDESTINATION OF THE JEWS.

After being saved by Grace and receiving The Book of the Covenant the Jews fell back into their past and future Sabaxianism: Paul uses this event to prove that the Jews were neither superior nor predestinated:

The Jews denied that the Gentiles were "pure" enough to be baptized and insist that they be circumcised and keep the Law of Moses.  They believed that they were PREDESTINATED just because God ELECTED them for a purpose.

However, the Law of Moses did not produce salvaton because it was ADDED when the nation fell from grace at Mount Sinai.

Paul's ONLY issue in discussing THE FAITH and THE LAW is to prove that there is no predestinated class. All are sinners and they all need to have their sins REMITTED.  No one has their sins remitted without Baptism. Therefore, because the Gentiles are not less worthy than the Jews, they could not FORBID baptism for the Gentiles. This conflict PROVES that Baptism is that time and place where people are elected (invited) and become the elect ONLY if they are baptized. This puts them under the only covenant of Grace given to Abraham in promise and fulfilled by Baptism INTO Christ.

Rom. 9:29 And as Esaias said before,
        Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed,
        we had been as Sodoma,
        and been made like unto Gomorrha.

Isaiah 1:9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant,
         we should have been as Sodom,
        and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
Is. 1:10 Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom;
        give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

          Rev. 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city,
          which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Is. 1:11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD:

         I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts;
         and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
Is. 1:12 When ye come to appear before me,
         who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?

Jer. 7:23 But this thing commanded I them, saying,
        Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people:
        and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
Jer. 7:24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear,
        but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart,
        and went backward, and not forward.

They were nor reserved because of the Law but because BY FAITH they refused to bow to Baal.
The Gentiles and the godly Israelites practiced personal righteousness and social justice: God did not command anything associated with the "Jewish" worship. He imposed that because they had sinned beyond redemption.

At the same time the godly  Jews and Gentiles attended the synagogue which was to REST from the horrors of animal slaughter, to READ and to REHEARSE the Word of God as delivered in the Covenant and later in the prophets.  The Gentiles and a tiny remnant of Jews were prepared when Christ came to stop the Jew's "Covenant with death."

The Apostles being guided by  the Spirit in the Word do not appeal to the Law of Moses but to the synagogue as the place of assemble to quarantine the godly people from the sacrificial system.

THE CHURCH OF CHRIST IN THE WILDERNESS ONWARD AS QAHAL OR SYNAGOGUE QUARANTINED FROM THE JEWISH ROOTS.
Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time
        hath in every city them that preach him,
        being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

To repudiate the Judaizers along with Peter, he said;

Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him,
        and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Christ in Isaiah said:

Isaiah 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard,
        nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen,
        O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
Isaiah 64:5 Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness,
        those that remember thee in thy ways:
        behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned:
        in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.
Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing,
        and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;
        and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities,
        like the wind, have taken us away.
One's Jewish Roots or Arab roots can never be used as a way to interpret the Word of God

Rom. 9:30 What shall we say then?
        That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, [The Law of Moses]
        have attained to righteousness,
        even the righteousness which is of faith.

That is not a fact: Christ ordained the synagogue or Church of Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness. The Law of Moses and the national Jews were the COVENANT WITH DEATH which burdened all people so that the nobility could live at ease.  The meaning of salvation is salvation FROM the Crooked Race of vipers.  The first people to be FREED from Judaism were the godly Jews who always attended synagogue. The first asssemblies were defined.

GIVING HEED TO THE WORD OF GOD IS THE ONLY WORSHIP CONCEPT IN THE CHURCH OF CHRIST.  The Synagogue for the godly Jews and Gentiles is the eternal pattern: it is in the words of everyone including the Campbells A School of Christ. Worship is reading and musing the Word of God.

Joseph Shulam: By the same measure, Shaul the apostle was totally faithful to the Lord Yeshua, who revealed Himself to him on the road to Damascus, and also 100% faithful to the Torah of Moses and Israel.

The Sabbath means REST: the faithful Jews never held 'worship services' on the Sabbath: they synagogued to read the Word of God.
In fact the "Jewish roots" profaned the Sabbath and got away with it because they had been abandoned to Sabazianism beyond redemption.

After the resurrection--still hiding from their Jewish Roots--Jesus synagogued with the disciples two first days of the week in a row.

John 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week,
        when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews,
        came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

Sunagō from which synagogue is derived.

John 20:26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them:
        then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

John 20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God;
        and that believing ye might have life through his name.

If the Christians were worshipping like in the Torah (just the law) then why were the fearful of the Jews seeking the Messiah so that they could murder Him consistent with all sacrificial systems which began with the Sacrifice of Kings yearly, then the sacrifice of a surrogate and finally the sacrifice of animals along with infants.?

Paul had to repent of a religion which gave him authority to murder believers.

Joseph Shulam: The most important thing is the fact that the first congregation in Jerusalem, as described in the pages of    the    New    Covenant, was a Messianic Jewish congregation, which was 100% faithful to our Lord Yeshua and 100% faithful to the Torah of Israel

That's not a fact: Christ in Spirit, the Rock, ordained the Qahal, Synagogue or Church of Christ in the wilderness.  This QUARANTINED the godly Jews from the sacrificial system and the curse of Jacob on the tribe of Levi specificially.
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:
        and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostlesdoctrine and fellowship,
        and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
The Prophecies by Christ and the prophecies made more certain by Jesus constituted the Christian teaching resource.

Jesus never went beyond the outer court of the Temple and would have been executed if he went into the inner court where the Jews slaughtered innocent animals to satisfy a blood and flesh lust.  Jesus never "worshiped" in anything similar to The Law of Moses but in the synagogues which are defined in the Torah but not remotely similar to Israel's abandonment to "worship the starry host." Stephen repudiated the Jewish system because the promise when they practiced musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.

The synagogue continued parallel to the temple and sacrificial system which effectively died after the Jews returned from Babylon with a NEW STYLE OF WORDHIP. The acted parables of Jews were to repudiate the rituals learned and practiced in Babylon.

The SYNAGOGUE was ANTITHETICAL to the Sacrificial system: Jesus and the early disciples came togther two FIRST DAYS OF THE WEEK IN A ROW.  The Synagogue had just ONE ACT: Reading and discussing the Word:

Qahal (h6951) kaw-hawl'; from 6950; assemblage (usually concr.): - assembly, company, congregation, multitude.

"A community, qahal in Hebrew, is a Jewish community of any size. The qahal was a well established concept and was called an ekklesia in the Nazarean Codicil. In English we translate the Greek ekklesia as church. So, whenever we see the word church in our Nazarean Codicil's, we should have in mind the concept of a qahal, a community or congregation.

The Septuagint uses the word Ecclesia seventy times when it translates the Hebrew word: kve (qahal could also be spelled Cahal), from which we get our English word call. It means to call together, to assemble, or gather together.

The synagogue serves the same purpose for a community that the Temple served for the nation. (Greg Killian)

From this midrash we learn that the study and application of the scriptures and the oral law, are the work that a group of people put in to establish a qahal. However, without a structure to impart this wisdom, the qahal will not prosper. The structure that establishes and prospers a qahal is the synagogue.
The church #1577 ekklesia - assembly, called out ones, set apart ones, congregation; in Hebrew this word is #6951 qahal (kahal) - a "synagogue" (E. W. Bullinger, Commentary on Revelation, p. 165-166), an assemblage, congregation, company from the root #6950 qahal meaning specifically a coming together, an assembling, a convocation, congregation; this word is used mostly for religious purposes (see William Wilson's Old Testament Word Studies, p. 92)
The LXX uses the word ekklesia to translate the Hebrew qahal. Qahal means to call, to assemble, and the noun form means a congregation or assembly. Solomon is called koheleth the Preacher, translated by the LXX ekklesiastes. The earliest known occurrence of the word is found in Job 30:28, ‘I cried in the congregation’. In the books of the law, qahal is rendered by the Greek word sunagoge, showing that the synagogue is the beginning of the New Testament church. Stephen in his speech which ended in his martyrdom referred to the history of Israel, and dwells for considerable length upon the one great leader Moses, saying in Acts 7:38:

And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you. Ex.12:16

Miqra (h4744) mik-raw'; from 7121; something called out, i. e. a public meeting (the act, the persons, or the place); also a rehearsal: - assembly, calling, convocation, reading.

And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law. Ne 8:3

Read is:

Qara (h7121) kaw-raw'; a prim. root [rather ident. with 7121 through the idea of accosting a person met]; to call out to (i. e. prop. address by name, but used in a wide variety of applications): - bewray [self], that are bidden, call (for, forth, self, upon), cry (unto), (be) famous, guest, invite, mention, (give) name, preach, (make) proclaim (- ation), pronounce, publish, read, renowned, say.

And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam. Ne 8:4

And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up: Ne 8:5

And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen,
with
lifting up their hands:
and they
bowed their heads,
and worshipped the Lord with their
faces to the ground. Ne 8:6

Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place. Ne 8:7

So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading. Ne.8:8

Sekel (h7922) seh'-kel; or sekel say'-kel; from 7919; intelligence; by impl. success: - discretion, knowledge, policy, prudence, sense, understanding, wisdom, wise

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia)

Thus these meetings, which at first were only held on Sabbaths and feast days,
came also to be held on
other days, and at the same hours with the services in the temple.

The essential aim, however, of the synagogue was not prayer,
but
instruction in the Law for all classes of the people.

Philo calls the synagogues "houses of instruction, where the philosophy of the fathers and all manner of virtues were taught"

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. Lu.4:16

This was Christ's command for the Synagogue or church of Christ in the wilderness but this was ANTITHETICAL to the worship of the Jacob-cursed tribe of Levi.

And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on. Ac.13:15

Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 1Ti.4:13

"The word that is employed for this "anaginosko, anagnosis) is the technical term for the cultic reading aloud of the Old Testament in the synagogue. By applying this terminology to the reading of his own epistles he not only ascribes the same authority to the apostolic word as to the Old Testament writings...he also combines a quotation from the Old Testament with a word of Jesus and introduces the whole with the familiar formula: 'for the Scripture says.'" WHEN THE JEWS FELL INTO IDOLATRY AT MOUNT SINAI MOSES PROMISED ANOTHER PROPHET LIKE HIM WHO WOULD BE HEARD.
Acts 3:22-23 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, [that] every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Acts 7:37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

Deuteronomy 18:15 Masoretic (AV)  The Lord thy God shall raise up to thee a prophet of thy brethren,

Deuteronomy 18:18-19 I will raise up to them a prophet of their brethren, like thee;
        and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them as I shall command him.
        And whatever man shall not hearken to whatsoever words that prophet shall speak in my name,
        I will take vengeance on him.
That means that when the Jews were abandoned to worship the starry host the DID NOT hear the Word of God anymore.
Jesus spoke only what He heard from the Father and Jesus didn't hear any message about saving Judaism.

Joseph Shulam Please refer to the following selections from the New Covenant Scriptures:

1. Matthew 5:17-20: “Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah [Law] or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Torah till all is fulfilled

The so called Torah five books defines the history of the Hebrew people and their utter rebellion against God.  Thse books contain many things ANTITHETICAL to both the Law of Moses and warn against new Laws defined by David and others for the not-commanded king, kingdom, temple, sacrificial system or slaughter of others to get their income producing property.

Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

The Law would be in effect until the Church came with POWER on the day of Pentecost. The Law regulated the outward flesh but the Spirit or Truth or Gospel will allow the law to abide in the hert or spiri

The Law of Moses would pass out of force WHEN the new state of being came into existence.

The TORAH or first five books of Moses is not The Law of Moses which was given because of transgression.

Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words

Hebrews 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners

Joseph Shulam:  Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

The Law of Moses spoke only of the kingdom of IMPOSED on those who refused to obey the Word of God. The kingdom of Chrst on the other hand was the Church of Christ which makes one dead to the Law. Even demanding circumcision would repudiate the work of Christ and put Messianic Jews back under the Covenant with Death.

James makes the point that if one shows partiality they are guilty of all of the tenets of the Law of Moses. Anyone without baptism into Christ would would be Apistos or treacherous to Christ. That left them under the 613 rules of the Law of Moses.  Anyone

 Gregory the Great

Matthew 28:19. Now thus is faith; when a man believes in God the Lord of all, Who made the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that is in them; and He made Adam in His image; and He gave the Law to Moses; He sent of His Spirit upon the prophets;

He sent moreover His Christ into the world. Furthermore that a man should believe in the resurrection of the dead; and should furthermore also believe in the sacrament of baptism. This is the faith of the Church of God. And (it is necessary) that a man should separate himself from the observance of hours and Sabbaths and moons and seasons, and divinations and sorceries and Chaldaean arts and magic, from fornication and from festive music, from vain doctrines, which are instruments of the Evil One, from the blandishment of honeyed words, from blasphemy and from adultery. And that a man should not bear false witness, and that a man should not speak with double tongue. These then are the works of the faith which is based on the true Stone which is Christ, on Whom the whole building is reared up.

Joseph Shulam:  2. 1 Corinthians 7:17-20: “But as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one, so let him walk. And so I ordain in all the congregations. Was anyone called while circumcised? Let him not become uncircumcised. Was anyone called while uncircumcised? Let him not be circumcised. Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters. Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called.”

A person who was mutilated at birth often sought to have the evidence removed.  Circumcison had to do with the flesh only.  Being a Christian did not demand that a person seek to redo that which was related to the flesh and not  the conscience.  However, Paul made it certain that if a person insists on circumcision repudiates Christ: we are spiritually circumcised at baptism.

Circumcision was given to Abraham as a sign of the Covenant made with GOD IN CHRIST.
Galatians 3:17 And this I say, that the covenant,
        that was confirmed before of God in Christ,
        the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after,
        cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness
        with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina,
        and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
Acts 7:39 To whom our fathers would not obey,
         but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
Acts 7:40 Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us:
        for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt,
        we wot not what is become of him.
Acts 7:41 And they made a calf in those days,

and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
Acts 7:42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven;
        as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel,
         have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices
        by the space of forty years in the wilderness?

Acts 7:43 Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan,
         figures which ye made to worship them:
         and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
"the star of your god--R. ISAAC CARO says all the astrologers represented Saturn as the star of Israel. Probably there was a figure of a star on the head of the image of the idol, to represent the planet Saturn; hence "images" correspond to "star" in the parallel clause. A star in hieroglyphics represents God (Nu 24:17). "Images" are either a Hebraism for "image," or refer to the many images made to represent Chiun.

Remphan, (hrem-fan') is the King James Version of the Bible's rendering of the Greek word variously appearing in Acts 7 verse 43 as Ρομφα, Ρεμφάν, Ρεμφαμ, Ραιφαν, and Ρεφαν. It is part of a quotation from Amos 5 verse 26 where the Septuagint's reading raiphan or rephan stands the Hebrew Chiun or Kewan. The Greek forms are probably simple mistakes for the Hebrew, k (qoppa) having been replaced by r (resh) and ph substituted for v (yod). Kewan is probably the Old Babylonian Kayawanu, the planet Saturn, another (the Akkadian) name for which is Sakkut, which appears as Siccuth in the earlier part of the verse.

By incorrect transliteration for a word of Hebrew origin [H3594]; Remphan (that is, Kijun), an Egyptian idol: - Remphan. In the book of the Acts of the Apostles chapter 7 Stephen points about this deity Remphan the star of your god whose images you made to worship.(verse 43)

Acts 7:44 Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness,
        as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses,
        that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.
Acts 7:45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in
        with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles,
        whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;
Acts 7:46 Who found favour before God,
        and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.
Acts 7:47 But Solomon built him an house.
Acts 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,

Hebrews 9:1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service,
        and a worldly sanctuary.
This was not the Temple but the Tabernacle: it was important to have a central sanctuary which bound all of the tribes  together: this had nothing to do with the weekly asssembly of the godly people where Sabbath meant REST and not a "worship service" which means a laded burden. The people remained in their own area and were to read and rehears the Word of God.   This was not a Jewish institution but a Christ-ordained institution.
Hebrews 9:2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first,
        wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
Hebrews 9:3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
Hebrews 9:4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
Hebrews 9:5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
Hebrews 9:6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
Hebrews 9:7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year,
        not without blood, which he offered for himself,
        and for the errors of the people:
Hebrews 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying,
        that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest,
        while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

Hebrews 9:9 Which was a figure for the time then present,
        in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices,
        that could not make him that did the service perfect,
        as pertaining to the conscience;
Hebrews 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks,
        and divers washings, and carnal ordinances,
        imposed on them until the time of reformation.
Hebrews 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come,
        by a greater and more perfect tabernacle,
        not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves,
         but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place,
        having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Hebrews 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats,
        and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean,
        sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ,
        who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God,
         purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament,
        that by means of death,
         for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament,
        they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free,
        and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you,
        that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
Galatians 5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised,
         that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you,
        whosoever of you are justified by the law;
         are fallen from grace.

The New Testament makes many contrasts between THE LAW and THE FAITH or FLESH and SPIRIT.

Galatians 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything,
        nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Galatians 5:7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
Galatians 5:8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
Galatians 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
1Corinthians 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Galatians 5:10 I have confidence in you through the Lord,
        that ye will be none otherwise minded:
         but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
Galatians 5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision,
        why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
Galatians 5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty;
        only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word,
        even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Joseph Shulam: 3. Acts 21: 17-24: “And when we had come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly. On the following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present. When he had greeted them, he told in detail those things which God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.

And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord. And they said to him,
         ‘You see, brother, how many myriads of Jews there are who have believed,
         and they are all zealous for the Torah; [Me too! The Torah defines the synagogue or Church of Christ]
        but they have been informed about you that you teach all the Jews
        who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses,
        saying that they ought not to circumcise their children nor walk according to the customs.

What then? The assembly must certainly meet, for they will hear that you have come.
        Therefore do what we tell you:
        We have four men who have taken a vow.
        Take them and be purified with them,
        and pay their expenses so that they may shave their heads,
        and that all may know that those things of which they were informed
        concerning you are nothing, but that you yourself also walk orderly and keep the Torah.’”

LOOKING AT THE WHOLE PURPOSE

Acts 9:14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
Acts 9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me,
        to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
Acts 9:16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

Paul had been given a true sanctifying act by Jesus Christ Who as Spirit appeared to Paul and let him hear His voice to qualify as an apostle.

Acts 21:10 And as we tarried there many days,
        there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.
Acts 21:11 And when he was come unto us,
        he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said,
         Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem
        bind the man that owneth this girdle,
        and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
Acts 21:12 And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place,
        besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.
Acts 21:13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart?
        for I am ready not to be bound only,
        but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 21:14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

The Jews in Jerusalem practiced ceremonial washings over and over but none of them or anything under the Law of Moses had any redemptive value.  Paul went to Jerusalem not to confirm the practices of the Jews but to Preach baptism.  He clearly understood that the preaching of the Gospel instead of the Law imposed on them would bring on the wrath of the Jews in Jerusalem.

Paul was a devout Jew and knew the Law but he DID NOT know God's will.  Paul gave notice of men taking a vow but Paul did not keep the Law of Moses.  Here he is in Jerusalem preaching a REAL method of cleansing which repudiated all that the Jews knew or had been taught.

Acts 21:26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.

They served notice: they had to wait for 7 days.  Paul served notice of the Jews whom he knew would not hear about Baptism as a TRUE method of cleansing.  Sure enough the Jews were incited and:

Acts 21:27 And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia,
        when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,

The Jews did NOT believe that Paul was a Legalist: Paul had to be rescued from the Jews

Acts 21:40 And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

Paul then preached the sermon which he knew would get him murdered or taken captive: His statement was that he was Zealous toward God.

Acts 22:1 Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you.
Acts 22:2 (And when they heard that he spake in the Hebrew tongue to them,
        they kept the more silence: and he saith,)
Acts 22:3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.
The Old Testament is for our learning: the synagogue read it and discussed it: they did NOT look for a MODEL to replace Christ.
Jesus Christ now The Holy Spirit picked Paul to know His Will: Paul was an educated Jew but he did NOT know God's willd.

Acts 22:14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee,
        that thou shouldest know his will,
        and see that Just One,
        and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
Acts 22:15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou?
        arise, and be baptized,
        and wash away thy sins,
        calling on the name of the Lord.

Acts 22:17 And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem,
        even while I prayed in the temple [court], I was in a trance;

As a good Jew:

Acts 22:18 And saw him saying unto me,
        Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem:
        for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.

Acts 22:19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue
        them that believed on thee:
Acts 22:20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed,
         I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death,
        and kept the raiment of them that slew him.
Acts 22:21 And he said unto me,
        Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.

Joseph Shulam:  4. Acts 24: 14-18: “But this I confess to you,
        that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers,
        believing all things which are written in the Torah and in the Prophets.

Acts 24:14 But this I confess unto thee,
        that after the way which they call heresy,
        so worship I the God of my fathers,
                believing all things which are written in the law
                and in the prophets:

The Law is not the five books: Both Moses and the Prophets defined the future REST the Jews never entered because they were unbelievers.

Paul worshipped as a Christian: he did not worship according to the Torah: he believed what was written in the Torah and the Prophets. The worship of the godly Jews under the Law was at the synagogue which quarantined them from participating in the worship of the sacrificial system

Joseph Shulam: I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust. This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men. Now after many years, I came to bring alms and offerings to my nation, in the midst of which some Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with a mob nor with tumult.”

Bringing offerings to the hungry Jews was the only "lay by in store" commanded in the Bible. The poor box was for the poor.

Joseph Shulam:   5. Acts 28: 17: “And it came to pass after three days that Paul called the leaders of the Jews together. So when they had come together, he said to them:
        ‘Men and brethren, though I have done nothing against our people
        or the customs of our fathers,
        yet I was delivered as a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.’”

When Paul claim to be an inspired apostle and contradicted the Jewish washings for purification this was NOT against the people but against the Jewish clergy. Paul had to repudiate everything connected with the Law of Moses only when the first century Judaizers persecuted Christians to their death.

Acts 22:14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee,
        that thou shouldest know his will,
        and see that Just One,
        and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
Acts 22:15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou?
        arise, and be baptized,
        and wash away thy sins,
        calling on the name of the Lord.

There is nothing in the Jewish Roots which could cleans the conscience. There is no example in the New Testamentof any church doing anything similar to the Jewish sacrificial system.

The Church of Christ and real baptism into Christ was not contrary to the Law of Moses. This certainly enraged all of those with a vested interest in keeping the den of thiever or house of merchandise operating like a mega-church.

Dialogue of Justin Martyr to Trypho, a Jew Jesus Christ is God Chapter

Chapter XVII.-The Jews Sent Persons Through the Whole Earth to Spread Calumnies on Christians.

"For other nations have not inflicted on us and on Christ this wrong to such an extent as you have, who in very deed are the authors of the wicked prejudice against the Just One, and us who hold by Him. For after that you had crucified Him, the only blameless and righteous Man,-through whose swipes those who approach the Father by Him are healed,-when you knew that He had risen from the dead and ascended to heaven, as the prophets foretold He would, you not only did not repent of the wickedness which you had committed, but at that time you selected and sent out from Jerusalem chosen men through all the land to tell that the godless heresy of the Christians had sprung up, and to publish those things which all they who knew us not speak against us

XVIII.-Christians Would Observe the Law, If They Did Not Know Why It Was Instituted.

"For since you have read, O Trypho, as you yourself admitted, the doctrines taught by our Saviour, I do not think that I have done foolishly in adding some short utterances of His to the prophetic statements.

Wash therefore, and be now clean, and put away iniquity from your souls,
as God bids you be washed in this laver,
and be circumcised with the true circumcision.

For we too would observe the fleshly circumcision, and the Sabbaths, and in short all the feasts, if we did not know for what reason they were enjoined you,-namely, on account of your transgressions and the hardness of your hearts. For if we patiently endure all things contrived against us by wicked men and demons, so that even amid cruelties unutterable, death and torments, we pray for mercy to those who inflict such things upon us, and do not wish to give the least retort to any one, even as the new Lawgiver commanded us: how is it, Trypho, that we would not observe those rites which do not harm us,-I speak of fleshly circumcision, and Sabbaths, and feasts?

Moreover, all those righteous men already mentioned, though they kept no Sabbaths, were pleasing to God; and after them Abraham with all his descendants until Moses, under whom your nation appeared unrighteous and ungrateful to God,

making a calf in the wilderness:
wherefore God,
accommodating Himself to that nation,
enjoined them
also to offer sacrifices,

as if to His name, in order that you might not serve idols. Which precept, however, you have not observed; nay, you sacrificed your children to demons.

And you were commanded to keep Sabbaths, that you might retain the memorial of God. For His word makes this announcement, saying, "That ye may know that I am God who redeemed you.'

Chapter XXI.-Sabbaths Were Instituted on Account of the People's Sins, and Not for a Work of Righteousness.

"Moreover, that God enjoined you to keep the Sabbath, and impose on you other precepts for a sign, as I have already said, on account of your unrighteousness, and that of your fathers,-as He declares that for the sake of the nations, lest His name be profaned among them, therefore He permitted some of you to remain alive,-these words of His can prove to you: they are narrated by Ezekiel thus:

"I am the Lord your God; walk in My statutes, and keep My judgments, and take no part in the customs of Egypt; and hallow My Sabbaths;
and they shall be a sign between Me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God.
Notwithstanding ye rebelled against Me
, and your children walked not in My statutes, neither kept My judgments to do them: which if a man do, he shall live in them.
But they polluted My Sabbaths.

And I said that I would pour out My fury upon them in the wilderness, to accomplish My anger upon them; yet I did it not; that My name might not be altogether profaned in the sight of the heathen.

I led them out before their eyes, and I lifted up Mine hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries; because they had not executed My judgments, but had despised My statutes, and polluted My Sabbaths, and their eyes were after the devices of their fathers.

Wherefore I gave them also statutes which were not good, and judgments whereby they shall not live. And I shall pollute them in their own gifts, that I may destroy all that openeth the womb, when I pass through them. Ezek. xx. 19-26. '

The Covenant made by God in Christ to Abraham and Jacob who were Gentiles. That covenant never changed to the time of Jesus Christ. His mission was to dismantle the Temple and the curse of the sacrificial system.  That was the only way His "school of the Word' could be somewhat safe from the pseudo Jews and their synagogue of Satan.

FULFILMENT OF ISAIAH 3 AND END TIME DELUSIONS

You simply cannot be a Christian or disciple of Christ commanded to observe what HE commanded to be observed and seek to Judaize again after these 2,000 years. Some few churches of Christ have fallen into the Levites as authority for musical worship: seeking to AID Christ as our only Teacher is of course blasphemous and the answer to Isaiah 3 warning about the rise of women and effeminate men.

Psa. 81:2 Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

"Hebrew music... was used in the luxurious times of the later monarchy the effeminate gallants of israel, reeking with perfumes, and stretched upon their couches of ivory, were wont at their banquets to accompany the song with the tinkling of the psaltery or guitar (Am. v1. 4-6), and amused themselves with devising musical instruments while their nation was perishing... music was the legitimate expression of mirth and gladness, and the indication of peace and prosperity." (Smith's Bible Dictionary, Music, p. 590)

Moreover, we must take into consideration the facts that the compass of the tenor extends even into the soprano, that the singers were of different ages down to twenty years of age, and that Oriental, and more particularly even Jewish, song is fond of falsetto singing. We therefore adopt Perret- Gentil's rendering, chant avec voix de femmes, and still more readily Armand de Mestral's, en soprano; whereas Melissus' rendering, "upon musical instruments called Alamoth (the Germans would say, upon the virginal),

Cic. Har. 21.44 All these men had a reason,—not an adequate one, indeed, (for no one can have an adequate reason for proving a bad citizen to the republic,) but still they had a serious reason, and one connected with some indignation of mind not unbecoming to a man. Publius Clodius came out as a popular character from saffron gowns and turbans, and woman's slippers, and purple bands, and stomachers, and singing, and iniquity, and adultery. If the women had not caught him in this dress, if he had not been allowed to escape by the indulgence of the maid servants, from a place which it was impious for him to enter, the Roman people would have lost their devoted friend, the republic would have been deprived of so energetic a citizen. It is in consequence of this insane conduct, amid our dissensions, for which we are by these recent prodigies admonished by the immortal gods, that one of the patricians has been taken from their number to be made a tribune of the people, in direct violation of the laws.

"Allegory and metaphor elevated the art over the humdrum of life. The Baroque belittled theatrical realism and dramatic truth as commonplace.

It created the castrato, a creature without sex but with a heavenly voice instead.
It saw the emergence of
virtuosity which transported the listener into a world of marvels.

"The Baroque invented sentimental shepherds and shepherdesses with salon manners and salon language.

It created melodies with virtuoso ornaments and opera became a theatre in which singing replaced ordinary speech.

"It invented the wig and female knickers with flounce, lace and ribbons, all of which was to imbue reality with a more poetic character. It created the gallant style and the theory of affections, which isolated and catalogued human emotions and feelings. The opera was the most eloquent manifesto of the escape from reality into a better world.

"The name of psaltery entered Christian literature in the 3rd century B.C. translation of the Old Testament called the Septuagint where, in the Psalms, nebel was translated psalterion. Thus, Nebuchadnezzar's idolatrous ensemble included the Aramic psantria. Notice, also, that the book of Psalms has also become known as the Psalter (or psalterium), from the hymns sung with this harp. Source
