Review of Truitt Adair's Review of Rick Atchley on Instrumental Music.

Rather than getting entangled with David Faust's effort to take believers captive to the BEAST gods utterly twisting all Sacred Scripture, it seems best to just teach the facts!  The Holy Lord God made certain that He did not provide a single example of anyone worshiping Him by the use of any kind of wind, string or percussion instrument. Rather, all INSTRUMENTAL messages prove that (1) people were, as pharisees, substituting their own words and (2) the mark of BURNING.

The BEAST from the EARTH exerciseth all the POWER of the first BEAST before him,
and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein
to worship the first BEAST, whose deadly wound was healed.

Both Campbell and Stone acknowledged that there was no UNION between the Reformed Baptists, whom Campbell was speaking the truth, and the Disciplles-Christian churches.

Jude warns that those who go beyond the "Once Delivered" Word as repeating the Instrumental-Trinitarian-Perverted Play at Mount Sinai that they were FOREORDAINED, delusional and cannot speak truth.  The BEAST in Revelation is defined as "A new style of music and Satyric (perverted) drama." The Locusts or Muses led by Apollyon. were marked as dirty adulteresses and became the SHEPHERDESSES--In a church near you.

Truitt Adair is one of the few who have looked at Rick Atchley's spirit-guided lurch into distorting all of the Bible and recorded history. Most at the preacher level do not grasp that the Bible is a history of the Hebrew people and that national history is split down the middle when Israel rose up to play in musical idolatry of the Egyptian trinity at Mount Sinai. They repeated the eating, drinking, playing instruments and playing with one another just as they had under control of the Egyptians. Christ in the prophets alerts us to the fact that they repudiated His Grace just on the safe banks of the Red Sea.

A. Like any good debater, Rick targets the weakest and most foolish arguments he has heard and read in opposition to his position and demolishes those arguments. (1)

1. He correctly denies the view expressed by some that instrumental music in the Old Testament was an unauthorized innovation of David (Amos 6:4-5) and that at best, God merely tolerated it as He did polygamy and never really approved of it.

He correctly points out that God commanded instrumental music in the Old Testament and was praised by it.

9.1.11 Added notes on Amos: if you miss reading Acts 7 you will not understand why the clergy murdered him

That's not a fact: all of the evidence proves that David changed the role of the Levites whom Ezekiel says caused the nation to fall. That was when Zadok was demoted until into Solomon's reign.

First: Jacob looked forward and defined the path the Hebrews would follow until the were destroyed and any disciple needs to know better than to say that God commanded instrumental music in the worship of the people.

Second: the redactors were looking backward and defined the path they would follow to their destruction.

When God turned the Hebrews over to worship the starry host it is because they fell into musical idolatry of the Egyptian (etal) trinity.  The worship of Egypt, Egypt, Canaan, seduced Hebrews and Babylonians were much the same.

The Levites--an old Egyprian infant burning sect--were under the KING and commanders of the Army.

Verg. A. 11.660
Swift through the midmost slaughter proudly strides
the quiver-girt Camilla, with one breast
thrust naked to the fight, like Amazon.
Oft from her hand her pliant shafts she rains,
or whirls with indefatigable arm
a doughty battle-axe; her shoulder bears
Diana's sounding [sŏno] arms and golden bow.
Sometimes retreating and to flight compelled,
the maiden with a rearward-pointing bow
shoots arrows as she flies. Around her move
her chosen peers, Larina, virgin brave,
Tarpeia, brandishing an axe of bronze,
and Tulla, virgins out of Italy
whom the divine Camilla chose to be
her glory, each a faithful servitress
in days of peace or war. The maids of Thrace
ride thus along Thermodon's frozen flood,
and fight with blazoned Amazonian arms
around Hippolyta; or when returns
Penthesilea in triumphal car
'mid acclamations shrill, [Ulŭlo halal] and all her host
of women clash in air the moon-shaped shield.

Fēmĭnĕus , II. Transf., with an accessory notion of contempt, womanish, effeminate, unmanly

for in their anger they slew a man,
and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.
Gen. 49:7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel:
I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
Divido I. To force asunder, part, separate, divide (very freq. and class.; cf.: distribuo, dispertio; findo, scindo, dirimo, divello, separo, sejungo, segrego, secerno).
And don't forget that they volunteered to slaughter 3000 including their own "brethren" for engaging in musical idolatry.

"The triumphal hymn of Moses had unquestionably a religious character about it; but the employment of music in religious services, though idolatrous, is more distinctly marked in the festivities which attended the erection of the golden calf." (Smith's Bible Dictionary, Music, p. 589).  See Musical Idolatry at Mount Sinai

Who is on the LORD’s side? let him come unto me.

Here is what Moses commanded:

Exodus 32:27 And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel,
Put every man his sword by his side,
and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp,
And slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.
Exodus 32:28 And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses:
and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.
The worship of the starry host (Acts 7) was guarded by the Levites who would kill any civillian who came near any holy thing or place.
Numbers 18:1 And the LORD said unto Aaron,
Thou and thy sons and thy father’s house with thee
shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary:
and thou and thy sons with thee
shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
Numbers 18:2 And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee,
that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee:
but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of witness.
Numbers 18:3 And they shall keep thy charge,
and the charge of all the tabernacle:
only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar,
that neither they, nor ye also, die.
The noise is never call music and the godly people were excluded. The loud noise was to force everyone present to bow or fall on their face which is THE meaning of their worship.

God did not command king, kingdom, temple, slaughter of innocent animals or the exorcism sounds which accompanied the "worship of the starry host." Please do not skip Act 7.

If you say that God Commanded Instrumental Music as Worship.
And God did not command Instrumental Music as Worship.
Then Christ The Spirit in Jeremiah 23 says that you are a blasphemer.

This Paper PROVES that it was David Who misused the Levites in Jerusalem: called Sodom.

DAVID IS NEVER SAID TO WORSHIP WITH SINGING OR PLAYING INSTRUMENTS

Chris Seidman on Psallo and Harps in Revelation as authority: it becomes much easier if you believe that the people under the "praised God with instrumental by command."

See the musical idolatry of the Egyptian Trinity at Mount Sinai as a terminal fall from Grace

See how Christ in the Prophets understood this event.

If, as Stephen confirms, the Exodus and Amos story proves that God turned the nation over to WORSHIP THE STARRY HOSTS, what "gods" were they abandoned to worship even when they called him Jehovah?  Christ through the prophets said they had a covenant with death: the Marzeah defined by Amos and the sacrificial system defines that abandonment by God at Mount Sinai. This points to Baal.

The entire Bible and the Jewish Encyclopedia makes it absolutely certain: it was Sabazianism or the wide-spread Dionysus (Bacchus) worship or the god of the OLD winekins. Plutarch makes it clear that the Jews lost their "place and their god" and worshipped Dionysus. Apollo (Abaddon, Apollyon) was the sun god and all sun gods were worshipped on the seventh day of the week: both the sabbath as WORSHIP and the tithe derived from Babylon.  The synagogue on the Rest days calculated from the Sun and Moon were called REST and not worship: this quarantined thee godly people from any of the performance-based worship on the Sabbath.  Modern Sabbath worship pretending to honor the Lord's death at the Lord's Supper is just another Mark of end-time Sabazianism including the New Wineskins mantra.

Chrisit who guided them separated out the Qahal, synagogue or church of Christ in the wilderness to conduct School of the Word of God. That never changed and Jesus added the Lord's Supper which is another teaching visual aid. In addition He as the Spirit in His post-glorified state and leads worship which in the New Testament is giving heed to the Word of Christ in the Prophets and apostles.

Truitt Adair: 3. It should be understood at the outset that brother Atchley is on a mission to pursuade others to his understanding of instrumental music and is finding receptive audiences. In his first session he said that his lessons would be available on the Richland Hills website and on DVD so that others could “hear what we are saying and doing.”

His task is enabled if the non-instrumentalists accept that God commanded anything connected with the Monarchy.

I am surprised that their effort has been a failure based on the money and numbers of people discorded. However, we should expect that we will not be able to find an ekklesia of Christ and we may have to meet at night and in the dark:
Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.
Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh,
shall he find faith on the earth?

He also said, “I think becoming a both/and church could inspire many other churches of Christ to be courageous in their Kingdom efforts.”

Based on the accounts posted by their  agents, the NACC thanks him very much.

RECORDED HISTORY INCLUDING THE BIBLE PROVES THAT HE IS "MISSIONAL." HERE ARE THE MARKS.   The Mount Sinai event also proves that there is no redemption and therefore God leads you into Babylon defined in Revelation 17-8. When the blind follow the blind they also fall into a "ditch" which means a PIT.

Rick and the whole flock should grasp that according to the prophecies by Christ (repudiating the lying pen of the Scribes) and Luke 17 Jesus defines their effort as ANTI-kingdom of Christ. After all, music from mystery in all sacrifical systems (goats burned) was tasked "to make the lambs dumb before the slaughter."  Even Silly Sally understands that when the rhetoricians rhetors, the singers sing and the players pluck there must be an INTENTION to make sure that Jesus does not get a word in edgewise.
Lk 17:1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come:
but woe unto him, through whom they come!

Jesus has named the Scribes and Pharasees  hypocrites: in Isaiah and Ezaekiel 33 these are slick speakers, singers and instrument players.
According to Philo, "the gods of the pagans exploit this weakness of men. For the sake of a better effect, and with the intention of more easily cheating their devotees, they have set their lies to melodies, rhythms and meters."
Skandal-istēs , ou, ho, prob. A. acrobat who performed on a trapeze trap or snare laid for an enemy, skandala poieisthai
Romans 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more:
but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock
or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.

Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren,
mark them which cause divisions and offences
contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Rick Atchley certainly never heard Paul preach or practice anything other than the Word of God. On the contrary, Paul used words which excludes "mental excitement" or doubtful disputations or private opinions which do not edify or educate.. Godly people build or educate the church on the Prophets and Apostles:

Romans 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
Revelation 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
Revelation 2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

If the kingdom is within you then worship is IN SPIRIT as the place as opposed to temples or megachurches.  Those who are terminally condemned are those who try to make the kingdom visible in ceremonial legalism: this is the ultimate insult to God making you capable of doing what you think He left SILENT.

The ekklesia / synagogue was A School of Christ (Campbells) defined for Rest, Reading and rehearsing the Word of God.  Peter restricts the upbuilding part as the prophets by Christ in Spirit and the prophecies made more perfect by Jesus of Nazareth.  God made Jesus to be both Lord and Christ with the power to fully define the prophets.  He defines the nature of the future church including baptism in Isaiah.

Impure religion or Threskia would involve the "laded burden" which would be religious rituals calculated to arouse spiritual anxiety pretending with lying wonders that they were revealing God to the paying audience.

discourse, lecture of a rhetorician or philosopher,

Lord hasn't all of the workshops, guest appearances and fame and fortune said THE KINGDOM is where I preach.  You are an affront to God and the disciples who understand that worship is IN SPIRIT as devoted to THE TRUTH.

Lk 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

The Israelites refused to hear God without Moses as mediator: they were made blind and deaf and there is nothing between Moses and Jesus which has spiritual application except the Church of Christ in the Wilderness. Moses promised another prophet like him

John 4:19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
John 4:20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; [place]
and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
John 4:21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh,
when ye shall neither in this mountain, [place] nor yet at Jerusalem, [place]worship the Father.
John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship:
for salvation [the Saviour]  is of the Jews.
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is,
when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit [place] and in truth: f
or the Father seeketh such to worship him.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
John 4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ:
when he is come, he will tell us all things.
John 4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
This sinful woman knew than all of the scholars in the modern world: she knew that the Purpose Driven Christ came to "tell us all things." We don't get to be the teller or seller.

A baptized believer is a disciple of Christ: He adds you to Hiis School and then puts our spirit in a safe house:

Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness,
and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

The Israelites as Rick's foundation had a covenant with death; Amos speaks of that evil worship.

Pind. N. 4 [30] When toils have been resolved, festivity is the best physician; and songs, the skillful daughters of the Muses, soothe with their touch. And warm water does not wet the limbs so gently [5] as praise that accompanies the lyre. Speech lives longer than deeds; whatever words the tongue, with the favor of the Graces, draws from the deep mind.

A man who did not understand this proverb would appear to be inexperienced in battle: since “it is likely that the doer will also suffer.” The laws of song and the hurrying hours prevent me from telling a long story, [35] and I am drawn, by a magic charm on my heart, to touch on the new-moon festival. Nevertheless, although the deep salt sea holds you around the middle, strain against treacherous plots. We will be seen arriving in the light far above our enemies. But another man, with an envious glance, [40] broods in the darkness over an empty thought that falls to the ground. As for me, I know that whatever excellence ruling destiny gave me, time will creep forward and bring it to its appointed perfection. Weave out, sweet lyre, right now,

Pind. N. 7 For he lives in a city that loves music, the city of the Aeacidae with their clashing spears; [10] and they very much want to foster a spirit familiar with contests. If someone is successful in his deeds, he casts a cause for sweet thoughts into the streams of the Muses. For those great acts of prowess dwell in deep darkness, if they lack songs, and we know of only one way to hold a mirror up to fine deeds:

Jesus quotes from Isaiah and Ezekiel 33 which names slick speakers, singers and instrument players.

Lk 17:22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.

Lk 17:23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.

Lk 17:24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth [+thunder] out of the one part under heaven,
        shineth unto the other part under heaven;
so shall also the Son of man be in his day.

Truitt Adair: In the second lesson he stated, “My love for the Bible compels me to say what I’ve said this morning. I cannot in good conscience allow people to teach as Bible what the Bible doesn’t teach.

People have complained about threatening rhetoric.

You have to conclude that Rick has never read the context of the proof-text paper handed to him by Chris Seidman and David Faust as an agent of the NACC. He repeats word for word the out of sequence argument on the White Paper.  Becuase doctors of the law take away the key to knowledge God left a written record and Jesus said that SPEAKING the Word of God was receiving the Spirit WITHOUT METER as the word often means. Since there is NO meter in the Biblical text no one ever sung (sang) in a tuneful sense.  If Rick and the NACC had done some research on the words READ and SPEAK they would have discovered that patriarchal gods NEVER SING or are sung too.  If you want to teach and admonish you speak or read: you never teach with effeminate "praise teams" singing about making love to God. That was the message of the writer of Psalm 149.

The only way to verify that you are not being led by a son of the Devil--who speaks on his own--is to follow the unchanging example:
Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time
        hath in every city
        them that preach him,
being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
Peter outlawed Doubtful Disputations which is "further expounded" and left a written memory to MARK false teachers.  See 2 Peter 2 where Peter defined musical corruption.

And 2 Peter 3 the End Time Mockers

That is the pattern Paul commanded to timothy: singing as an ACT was imposed and caused division after Constantine began paying pagan priests to become unwashed bishops. That is documented as the year 373 and split the east from the west.

Because we have not understood that the Bible includes the history of the Civil-Military-Clergy thread which was antithetical to the Prophetic thread, men like Rick Atchley have taken the record of EVENTS in a God-abandoned worship of the Starry Host and made them DIRECT COMMANDS for the godly people guided by Christ in the prophets and prophecies made more perfect by Jesus of Nazareth.

Truitt Adair: I. LIKE MOST WHO ADVANCE A LARGE NUMBER OF ARGUMENTS TO PROVE A POINT, SOME OF THE ARGUMENTS PRESENTED ARE STRONGER THAN OTHERS. WE WILL FIRST LOOK AT SOME OF THE BETTER ARGUMENTS

I have collected most of recorded history beginning with clay tablets and I deny that God ever commanded instruments to make music and praise him.

If remotely true to the Biblical text who, where and why were loud noise made by instruments? Assuredly, since we know the meaning of SYNAGOGUE we know that Christ OUTLAWED vocal or instrumental noises and any kind of elevated speech when the people rested FROM pagan worship services and atted the School of the Word of God. If David praises--makes himself vile--in the firmament how can that be a command for the Kingdom of Christ which is NOT in any external acts or works. #150 is a halal and not a true psalm.

THE BOOK OF AMOS

If you hobble those who deny that Amos approved instruments IF they had a good attitude or IF you hobble those who deny that God COMMANDED anything within the Monarchy, by marking them as weak and foolish, you have made it increasingly impossible for honorable people to open their mouth; assuredly you have made it impossible to ever be invited to the Workshops of Evil. If they have been DEMOLISHED already by Rick Atchley (eating from the NACC white paper) why did the effort to reincarnate churches of Christ as Christian Churches fail so miserably?  Why is it that all of the Bible and recorded history is still recorded for us to read and have not been burned in heaps?

If you read Acts 7 you will discover that Stephen connected Amos to the "rising up to play" at Mount Sinai: this was the musical idolatry of the Egyptian (etal) trinity.  There is no historic scholar I have found who does not repudiate the WAY the nation of Israel carried out their sacrificial system.  While David ordained the Levites to stand gurard to keep the "commoners" away from their national ziggurat under the king and commanders of the army, in Israel the musical performers became a pleasure for the rich who stole from the poor.  The singers went INTO their temple which according to Moses would be a death penalty.

The Agape was a funerary feast with and for the dead much like the marzeah condemned in Amos 5 and 6.

That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall; Am.6:4

That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David; Amos 6:5

That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph. Amos 6:6

Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed. Amos 6:7

Marzeach (h4798) mar-zay'-akh; formed like 4797; a cry, i. e. (of grief) a lamentation: - mourning.

For thus saith the Lord, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the Lord, even lovingkindness and mercies. Jer 16:5

The Marzeah in Amos 5

"The marzeah had an extremely long history extending at least from the 14th century B.C. through the Roman period. In the 14th century B.C., it was prominently associated with the ancient Canaanite city of Ugarit (modern Ras Shamra), on the coast of Syria...

"The marzeah was a pagan ritual that took the form of a social and religious association... Some scholars regard the funerary marzeah as a feast for--and with--deceased ancestors (or Rephaim, a proper name in the Bible for the inhabitants of Sheol)." (King, Biblical Archaeological Review, Aug, 1988, p. 35, 35)

"These five elements are: (1) reclining or relaxing, (2) eating a meat meal, (3) singing with harp or other musical accompaniment, (4) drinking wine and (5) anointing oneself with oil." (King, p. 37).

"we recognize the same elements: the sacrifices and libation, the cultic feast in which the congregation gets a share of food and drink after it has been blessed by the king, and the merry-making, now in the form of instrumental and vocal music. But the central act of the ritual, which was performed by the king, is called literally 'drinking' the god (Gurney, O. R. Some Aspects of Hittite Religion, p. 33-34, Oxford University Press, 1977)

"The normal order of events was a meal, followed by a drinking party. Entertainment might include anything from a rhetorcian or philosopher discoursing on some topic, to musical entertainment, to sexual dalliance."

"Plutarch implicitly contrasts a serious dinner featuring a sage as the after-dinner speaker with the other sorts of dinners--where sexual play with the girl flute-players or hetairae was common." (Witherington, Ben, Why Not Idol Meat, Bible Review, June 1994, p. 41-42).

Comments: Smith believes lines 7-8 should be interpreted "Either literally, as `El walking through the underworld, or an allusion to `El being "dead drunk," or both metaphorical, and ironic, as the marzeah serves as the setting for feasts for the dead and for the living mourning the dead (p. 145).

Conrad L'Heureux demonstrated that the marzeah, or symposium (feast, gathering, banquet, assembly) of El that is found in the Rephaim Texts of Ugarit "must be a reflex in the divine world of the symposium celebrated by the members of the earthly marzeah of El...each guild apparently had a divine patron."42 The heavenly marzeah had participants called rp'm, which we also find in the earthly marzeah, e.g., "May Krt be greatly exalted among the rp'm of the earth...the rp'm constitute an aristocracy of which the Canaanite kings were a part."43 Moses, and the prophets following him were proclaimed as "Speakers for Yahweh," showing the people that "they are sent from the divine king, the suzerain of treaties, to reprove and to pronounce judgment upon Israel..."44

Note 42: Conrad L'Heureux, "The Ugaritic and Biblical Rephaim," Harvard Theological Review, 67(1974): 270-271.

Note 43. Conrad L'Heureux, Rephaim, 271. Cf. 272, footnote 25, the authority of El is ordinarily exercised through the younger generation of gods whom we could call the executive deities. It is also possible to understand the term rp'm as "the assembly of the gods." The entire premise of Jacobsen's article "Primitive Democracy," is that the groups and assemblies on earth reflected what the gods had done in heaven.

The MRZH Tablet

"The tablet seen here is a contract having to do with the setting up of an association called the MRZH (marzeah). This association was a group of people who got together regularly in a special room in someone's home to celebrate and hold banquets, probably for religious reasons. Some scholars think they may have practiced certain rituals to honor and mourn the dead. We do know that the biblical prophets Amos and Jeremiah disapproved of whatever rituals were involved; see Amos 6:7 and Jeremiah 16:5. Commentary by Marilyn J. Lundberg.

"NO command of God was ever so ascribed to man. The use of the instruments of music in the Old Testament were of man, not of God." (Tract on music, Lipscomb).

"Surely these inspired statements are sufficient to show that David made, invented, and commanded the use of instruments of music in divine worship. Where does revelation explain that God made, invented, appointed, or commanded the use of instrumental music in ordained worship of that age? On the basis of plain declarations, the contention that David introduced the idea is founded; in the absence of such testimony that God is the author, we reject the opinion that God authorized the practice." (L.O. Sanderson, p. 350).

In 2 Chronicles 29 used to prove that God commanded instrumental worship, the Levites STOOD in ranks in silence during the regular blood letting and offering.  However, Hezekiah's EXTRA sacrifice to Israel involved the BURNT OFFERING where the playing of instruments was under the Command of King David.

"From the beginning, then, it was not so. Neither is it a part of or aid to Christian worship. Since there is no record of God ordaining the practice, he must have simply tolerated or indulged it, just as he did regarding some ignorance, kings, divorces, and polygamy" (Sanderson, p. 351).

God tolerated the musical performance of the Levites (only) because He had turned them over to worship the starry host. God always permits those who reject Him to do whatever they wish.

"It was by the hand or commandment of the Lord and his prophets that the Levites should praise the Lord; for so the Hebrew text may be understood:

"and it was by the order of David that so many instruments of music should be introduced into the Divine service." (Adam Clark, Commentary on 2 Chron. 29:25).

Then Clark says:

"But were it evident, which it is not, either from this (2 Chron. 29:25) or any other place in the sacred writings, that instruments of music were prescribed by Divine authority under the law, could this be adduced with any semblance of reason that they ought to be used in Christian Worship? No..." (Adam Clark, Commentary, Vol. II, PP. 690-691).

"I believe that David was not authorized by the Lord to introduce that multitude of musical instruments into the divine worship of which we read; and I am satisfied that his conduct in this respect is most solemnly reprehended by this prophet; and I further believe that the use of such instruments of music in the Christian church is without the sanction and against the will of God; that they are subversive of the spirit of true devotion...if there was a woe to them who invented instruments of music, as did David under the law, is there no woe...to those who introduce them?" (Adam Clark, Commenting on Amos 6:5).

"...Scriptures do condemn the use that David made of the instruments in worship--Amos 6:5: 'Woe to them... that chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of music, like David;' and Amos 5:23: 'Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.' The condemnation of the instruments of music in this passage turns on the phrase like David--it does not say like David's, which could refer only to the instruments, but like David is the use that David made of the instruments. David did not invent the musical instrument--Jubal invented the instruments (Gen. 4:21)--but David invented them for worship--they were David's innovation." (Wallace, p. 177).

"Amos, we are told, is the sharpest critic of musical instruments in pre-Christian times. through him God expresses a preference for justice and honesty over bloody sacrifice and its attendant music of song and instruments. This sentiment, we are told, was revolutionary, making part of a similar change felt over the civilized world... And overall view of the evidence, McKinnon thinks, reveals a relationship between the three elements: a higher conception of God, a rejection of sacrifice, and a rejection of musical instruments." (Green, William M, Pepperdine College, in Restoration Quarterly, v. 19, 1966).

"To hear a man's or woman's voice sing Handel's solo... beats through one's chest with some sort of a throb depending on how well he or she is singing, and how much you respond to this kind of music. But no matter how much you may 'enjoy' Handel's solo, the words are not meant to be entertainment." (Schaeffer, Edith, Christianity is Jewish, p. 1)

"Amos stressed "that violations of the moral law could not be remedied by means of festive rites, offerings, or liturgical indulgence on the part of the sinner. In point of fact, God was already standing beside the altar (Am. 9:1ff), poised and ready to shatter it. No ritual, however, elaborate and symbolic in nature, could possibly substitute for the sincere worship of the human spirit, grounded in high moral and ethical principles." (Harrison, p. 895).

"Not surprisingly, most Israelites declined the prophet's invitation to enter into a dialog with Yahweh. They preferred a less demanding religion of cultic observance either in the Jerusalem Temple or in the old fertility cults of Canaan. This continues to be the case: the religion of compassion is followed only by a minority; most religious people are content with decorous worship in synagogue, church, temple and mosque. The ancient Canaanite religions were still flourishing in Israel... the Israelites were still taking part in fertility rites and sacred sex there, as we see in the oracles of the prophet Hosea, Amos' contemporary." (Armstrong, Karen, A History of God, p. 47).

F. B. Bruce is one of the best known modern writer and one might expect that he would defend the denominational practice. However, he like most who rest on their scholarship tell the truth. He wrote--

"...these same people were punctilious in their religious observances. Never did such abundant sacrifices smoke to Yahweh from the altars at Dan and Bethel and other sanctuaries in Israel; and the note of praise rose regularly and loudly from tongue and harp. Was not this the worship in which Yahweh delighted? So they thought, but the voice of Yahweh through His prophet told a different story." (F.F. Bruce, Israel, p. 58).

Bruce shows, along with the LXX, that (1) music was used as worship, (2) they thought that God would delight in it, but (3) God condemned it. This refutes those who deny that Amos said anything about music and it supports the clear statement and context of the book of Amos.

Most ancient scholars not only condemn music as worship but show that it had its origin in pagan superstition and was the product of the poets (songs as magical incantations)--

"It was only permitted to the Jews as sacrifice was, for the heaviness and grossness of their souls. God condescended to their weakness, because they were lately drawn off from idols; but now, instead of organs, we may use our own bodies to praise him withal." (Chrysostom on Psa. 149, Vol. iii, p. 634).

"It is foreign also to the piety of Clement that the (song) instituted for drinking companies, to be sung in the convivial feasts of the Gentiles... As if he [Clement] did not know that Psalms, not 'wine songs,'... were recited at the close of the Supper... I say that so great a profanation of the Psalms is most severely condemned by God in the third [commandment] of the Decalogue and Amos 5:23; 6:5" (Joseph Bingham, Antiq. of the Christian Church, Vol. 2, p. 485 quoting Clement).

Rick has done the set-up with the younger generation which will be the hiring leadership of the future.

David Lipscomb noted that the Disciples "invented" the word "psallo" to try to justify the split within the Disciples/Christian churches.  It seems clear that the NACC and sympathizers radically interpreted Amos to say that their only problem was a bad mental attitude. Because violent men take the kingdom by violence most preachers were intimidated not to look any further. As the "unity" movement by the NACC grew it was fatal to your career path to preach the truth that God DID NOT command anything about the Monarchy to which He abandoned them when the "elders" (always) demanded a national or secular leadership: God understood that to mean that they wanted to worship like the nations.

Unfortunately, Truitt Adair has affirmed Rick Atchley by denouncing as weak and foolish the Bible and historic scholarship: if he has demolished the historiic scholarship then Rick Atchley's job is half finished. However, I would challenge anyone to find any historic pre-theology scholarship which does not know that Christ in the prophets repeats the condemnation over and over: WHY NOT, in ordaining the Holy Convocation for the godly people's REST He outlawed vocal and instrumental rejoicing including elevated forms of speaking intending to intimidate the flock.  The Sabbath or Rest day was to protect the godly people FROM the seventh day worshipers which always worshipped the SUN or starry host.

If you missed the message of Acts 7 Stephen repudiated the whole Jewish national system as a result of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai:  HE was brave enough to tell the truth like Amos. He was willing to lose his life and not just his "standing in the priesthood."

FACT:

The Levi tribe was abandoned to worship the starry host and all credible Bible students understand that the unlawful monarchy, monarch, temple, slaughter of innocent animals and the accompanying exorcism noise could not be an ABANDOMENT and an ENDORSEMENT at the same time.. Jacob in Genesis 49 had sorted out the reign of the tribe of Levi and warned us not to make a covenant with them or to attend their assemblies. Jacob leaped over the Monarchy and told us to accept the king out of Judah.

If YOUR God enjoys FEASTING with you while you burn the fat (John Mark Hicks) then shame on you for making yourself the superior feeder, houser and sexually complant enabler.

Swift through the midmost slaughter proudly strides

Sometimes retreating and to flight compelled,
the maiden with a rearward-pointing bow
shoots arrows as she flies. Around her move
her chosen peers, Larina, virgin brave,
Tarpeia, brandishing an axe of bronze,
and Tulla, virgins out of Italy
whom the divine Camilla chose to be
her glory, each a faithful servitress
in days of peace or war. The maids of Thrace

and fight with blazoned Amazonian arms
around Hippolyta; or when returns

Besides being totally wrong in approving what Amos condemned if we "just have a good mental attitude", blaming churches of Christ for being pretty ignorant is someone conceiveing to deceive: they missed the clear history of the Old Testament and the fact that the Synagogue of Christ as a school only is built upon the foundation of the Prophets and apostles.  Since other prophets guided by  Christ repudiate the ACTIONS of their worship: why would false teachers be left only with Amos to repudiate?

John Chrysostom Homilies Temple and Sacrifice [ c. ad 347-407] Note
Speaking for all historic scholarship.

The meaning is: Stephen was accused of speaking against "the customs,"-sacrifices, temple, feasts, etc. Therefore he significantly points to that critical conjuncture. from which these "customs" date their introduction: namely, the Provocation at Horeb.
Prior to that, he tells of "living oracles," life-giving precepts:
after it, and as its consequence, sacrifices, etc.,
those statutes
which were not good, and ordinances by which a man shall not live,
as God says by Ezekiel.

Not a word of sacrifice till then: and the first mention is, of the sacrifices offered to the calf. In like manner, "they rejoiced," "the people ate and drank, and rose up to play:" and in consequence of this,
the feasts were prescribed: kai eufrainonto, fhsin: dia touto kai eortai.-'Epishmainetai might be rendered, "he marks," "puts a mark upon it" (so the innovator, who substitutes, touto kai Dauid epishmainomenoj legei): we take it passively, "there is a mark set over it-it is emphatically denoted." In the active, the verb taken intransitively means "to betoken or announce itself," "make its first appearance."-
In the Treatise adv. Judaeos, iv. §6. tom. i. 624. C. St. Chrysostom gives this account of the legal sacrifices: "To what purpose unto Me is the multitude of your sacrifices? etc. (Isaiah i., 11, ff.)
Do ye hear how it is most plainly declared, that God did not from the first require these at your hands? Had He required them, He would have obliged those famous saints who were before the Law to observe this practice. Then wherefore has He permitted it now?

In condescension to your infirmity. As a physician in his treatment of a delirious patient, etc.:thus did God likewise. For seeing them so frantic in their lust for sacrifices, that they were ready, unless they got them, to desert to idols: nay not only ready, but that they had already deserted, thereupon He permitted sacrifices. And that this is the reason, is clear from the order of events.

After the feast which they made to the demons, then it was that He permitted sacrifices: all but saying: `Ye are mad, and will needs sacrifice: well then, at any rate sacrifice to Me.

"But even this, He did not permit to continue to the end, but by a most wise method, withdrew them from it ...
For He did not permit it to be done in any place of the whole world,
but in Jerusalem only.

Anon, when for a short time they had sacrificed,
he destroyed the city.

2Chr 28:16 At that time did king Ahaz send unto the kings of Assyria to help him.
2Chr 28:24 And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of the LORD, and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem.

Ahaz took the quarantined horrors of animal slaughter outside of Jerusalem: this caused a plague to fall on the city and kingdom.

Rick atchley takes Hezekiah's bringing the sacrifice BACK under cover as HIS pattern for making instrumental praise (whatever that is). Christ through Isaiah and Jeremiah says that God had never commanded sacrifices or burnt offerings: the scapegoat imposed after Nadab and Abihu went into a holy place was for Azazel or the Devil. The burnt offering with instrumental noise as Ricks pattern was probably to Dionysus.  In Ezekiel 33 they returned to burning infants.

Since Rick under the NACC has taken the sacrificial INSTRUMENTS public one wonders what lies in store? If he had done that under the Law and violated the quarantine he would be Plagued by God Who demanded that they hid The Worship of the Starry Host.

See 2 Chronicles 33 to see the END OF THE ROAD.
And finally, according to Plutarch, Sabazius became associated with the Jewish "sabbath", as heretical Jews worshipped Dionysus Some sources say these Sabazius-worshipping Jews brought the cult of Sabazius to Rome Further still, some believe that Sabazius was another title for the Sibyls of Thrace, and others believe Sabazius was a Cretan demigod from whom the name "Zeus" was derived.

If that upsets you just remember that Christ in the prophets spoke of the Lying Pen of the Scribes who wrote about the temple.  Jesus used Ezekiel 33 to accuse the Scribes and Pharisees hypocrites naming rhetoricians, singers and instrument players.

All of the Restoration Scholars agreed because they were Bible Scholars and not performers.

"From the beginning, then, it was not so. Neither is it a part of or aid to Christian worship. Since there is no record of God ordaining the practice, he must have simply tolerated or indulged it, just as he did regarding some ignorance, kings, divorces, and polygamy" (Sanderson, p. 351

“The neighboring gods of Phoenicia, Canaan, Moab—Baal, Melkart, Astarte, Chemosh, Moloch, etc—were particularly attractive to Jerusalem, while the old Sem calf-worship seriously affected the state religion of the Northern Kingdom...the worship of the sun, moon, stars and signs of the Zodiac became so intensely fascinating that these were introduced even into the temple itself (2 Ki. 17:16; 21:3-7; 23:4, 12; Jer. 19:13; Ezek. 8:16; Amos 5:26)” (Int Std Bible Ency., Idolatry, p. 1448)

2Kings 17:6 In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
2Kings 17:7 For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
2Kings 17:8 And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.

Even though the Law of Moses turns Israel over to worship the starry host and imposed sacrifices which came with that form of worship, the Law of Moses contains no hint about the use of musical instruments even when slaughtering the innocents. Rick's proof text in Hezekiah's plague stopping exorcism proves that the instruments DAVID HAD COMMANDED were used during the burnt offering. But, Christ says that God had not commanded sacrifices or burnt offerings.

2Kings 17:15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.

Because the prophets were guided by the Spirit of Christ, before literally blaspheming against that Spirit one should look at the statements in Psalms and Prophets to prove that violent men use violent means to get their own way and not be cowed into silence:

[Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Samaria, Who oppress the poor, Who crush the needy, Who say to your husbands, "Bring wine, let us drink!" Amos 4:1NKJV

Self-interest in social affairs made for self-indulgence in matters of religion.  The northern sanctuaries were crowded with worshippers who, in the main, were rejoicing in the erotic religious rites that were the concomitant of a pagan Canaanite Baal worship.

The situation was analogous in Corinth.  The Christian profession demanded that the Corinthians should forego the old heathen enjoyments.  But instead of rejoicing in their deliverance through Christ the Corinthians were dissatisfied and long for the old pagan celebrations.  It was not so much the participation in pagan sacrificial feasts which tried out the Lord but the dissatisfaction with the restrictions on their new faith.” (Lenski on 1 Cor.,  p. 399)

That logically leads most historic scholars to deny that God commanded musical worship

Adam Clark: Verse 5. And invent to themselves instruments of music, like David] See the note on 1 Chron. xxiii. 5; and see especially the note on 2 Chron. xxix. 25.

I believe that David was not authorized by the Lord to introduce that multitude of musical instruments into the Divine worship of which we read,

and I am satisfied that his conduct in this respect is most solemnly reprehended by this prophet;
and I farther believe that the use of such instruments of music, in the Christian Church,

is without the sanction and against the will of God;
that they are subversive of the spirit of true devotion, and that they are sinful.

If there was a woe to them who invented instruments of music, as did David under the law, is there no woe, no curse to them who invent them, and introduce them into the worship of God in the Christian Church?

Albert Barnes: p 303

"they employed on their light, enervating unmeaning music, and if they were in earnest enough, justified their inventions by the example of David... The word can mean no other than devise.

He introduced into the Temple-service the use of the stringed instruments, the kinnor, (the lyre) and the nebel (the harp) in addition to the cymbals.

Whence these, in contrast to the trumpets, are called the instruments of David." (Barnes, Albert, Amos, p. 308

Again: The Marzeah in Amos 5 identifies a form of pagan religion and the worship was the RESULT of of a bad attitude toward God and His Word: no "good mental attitude" would prove what most preachers preach.

"The marzeah had an extremely long history extending at least from the 14th century B.C. through the Roman period. In the 14th century B.C., it was prominently associated with the ancient Canaanite city of Ugarit (modern Ras Shamra), on the coast of Syria...

The marzeah was a pagan ritual that took the form of a social and religious association... Some scholars regard the funerary marzeah as a feast for--and with--deceased ancestors (or Rephaim, a proper name in the Bible for the inhabitants of Sheol)." (King, Biblical Archaeological Review, Aug, 1988, p. 35, 35)

"These five elements are:
        (1) reclining or relaxing,
        (2) eating a meat meal,
        (3) singing with harp or other musical accompaniment,
        (4) drinking wine and
        (5) anointing oneself with oil." (King, p. 37).

THIS WAS RISING UP TO PLAY AND THE PLAY OF DAVID WHERE EVERYONE GOT A SHARE OF FOOD. This was the story of David's Naked dance.

This won't shock the literate who know that because of the MUSICAL IDOLATRY at Mount Sinai God TURNED THEM OVER to worship the starry host.

"The normal order of events was a meal, followed by a drinking party. Entertainment might include anything from a rhetorcian or philosopher discoursing on some topic, to ˜ entertainment, to sexual dalliance."

Plutarch said that the "god" of the Jews was Dionysus under various titles and that all of their rituals worshipped dionysus. This was one of the sects Paul silenced in Romans 14 so that the synagogue could take place in Romans 15: Jesus sings to the Gentiles when believers "use that which is written for our learning using one mind and one mouth."

Our "silly" brethren said that because all recorded history understood that.  The people of Israel had moved David's warrior instruments into their temple on Mount Gerizim. Like Nadab and Abihu who got to the incense altar which imposed the death sentence. God had abandoned them to this worship of the starry host exactly like the musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.  Christ in the prophets proves that God did not command sacrifices or burnt offering so the practice was proof that God had ABANDONED and not COMMANDED them.

Most historic scholars who address this issue agree that this musical, perverted worship was NOT God's command.

This comes from Theodoret after singing as an ACT (that legalism word) was imposed in the year 373.  However, it was in Justin Martyr's papers according to George Girardeu

Thus the unknown author of a treatise among Justin Martyr's works:

Quest. If songs were invented by unbelievers with a design of deceiving, and were appointed for those under the law, because of the childishness of their minds, why do they who have received the perfect instructions of grace, which are most contrary to the aforesaid customs, nevertheless sing in the churches just as they did who were children under the law?

Ans.
Plain singing is not childish, but only the singing with lifeless organs, with dancing and cymbals, etc. Whence the use of such instruments and other things fit for children is laid aside, and plain singing only retained.'

Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, Series I, Vol. XIV, John Chrysostom, Homily I (c. 349–407

[1.] They that are spectators of the heathen games, when they have learned that a distinguished athlete and winner of crowns is come from any quarter, run all together to view his wrestling, and all his skill and strength; and you may see the whole theater of many ten thousands, all there straining their eyes both of body and mind, that nothing of what is done may escape them. So again these same persons, if any admirable musician come amongst them, leave all that they had in hand, which often is necessary and pressing business, and mount the steps, and sit listening very attentively to the words and the accompaniments, and criticising the agreement of the two. This is what the many do.

"Again; those who are skilled in rhetoric do just the same with respect to the sophists, for they too have their theaters, and their audience, and clappings of hands, and noise, and closest criticism of what is said.

"And if in the case of rhetoricians, musicians, and athletes, people sit in the one case to look on,
in the other to see at once and to listen with such earnest attention;
what zeal, what earnestness
ought ye in reason to display,
when it is no musician or debater who now comes forward to a trial of skill,

but when a man is speaking from heaven, and utters a voice plainer than thunder? for he has pervaded the whole earth with the sound; and occupied and filled it, not by the loudness of the cry, but by moving his tongue with the grace of God.

And what is wonderful, this sound, great as it is, is neither a harsh nor an unpleasant one, but sweeter and more delightful than all harmony of music, and with more skill to soothe; and besides all this, most holy, and most awful, and full of mysteries so great, and bringing with it goods so great, that if men were exactly and with ready mind to receive and keep them, they could no longer be mere men nor remain upon the earth, but would take their stand above all the things of this life, and having adapted themselves to the condition of angels, would dwell on earth just as if it were heaven.

[2.] For the son of thunder, the beloved of Christ, the pillar of the Churches throughout the world, who holds the keys of heaven, who drank the cup of Christ, and was baptized with His baptism, who lay upon his Master's bosom with much confidence,

this man comes forward to us now; not as an actor of a play, not hiding his head with a mask, (for he hath another sort of words to speak,) nor mounting a platform, nor striking the stage with his foot, nor dressed out with apparel of gold, but he enters wearing a robe of inconceivable beauty. For he will appear before us having "put on Christ" (Rom. xiii. 14; Gal. iii.

27), having his beautiful "feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace" (Eph. vi. 15); wearing a girdle not about his waist, but about his loins, not made of scarlet leather nor daubed outside with gold, but woven and composed of truth itself.

Now will he appear before us, not acting a part, (for with him there is nothing counterfeit, nor fiction, nor fable,) but with unmasked head he proclaims to us the truth unmasked;
not making the audience believe him other than he is by
carriage, by look, by voice,
        needing
for the delivery of his message no instruments of music, as harp, lyre, or any other the like, for he effects all with his tongue, uttering a voice which is sweeter and more profitable than that of any harper or any music.

Justin to Trypho Chapter XXII.-So Also Were Sacrifices and Oblations.

"And that you may learn that it was for the sins of your own nation, and for their idolatries and not because there was any necessity for such sacrifices, that they were likewise enjoined, listen to the manner in which He speaks of these by Amos, one of the twelve, saying:

Take thou away from Me the multitude of thy songs and psalms; I will not hear thine instruments. But let judgment be rolled down as water, and righteousness as an impassable torrent. Have ye offered unto Me victims and sacrifices in the wilderness, O house of Israel? saith the Lord. And have ye taken up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Raphan, the figures which ye made for yourselves? And I will carry you away beyond Damascus, saith the Lord, whose name is the Almighty God.

Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria: those who are named among the chiefs have plucked away the first-fruits of the nations:

the house of Israel have entered for themselves.

Pass all of you unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye unto Hamath the great, and go down thence to Gath of the strangers, the noblest of all these kingdoms, if their boundaries are greater than your boundaries.

Ye who come to the evil day, who are approaching, and who hold to false Sabbaths; who lie on beds of ivory, and are at ease upon their couches; who eat the lambs out of the flock, and the sucking calves out of the midst of the herd;

who applaud at the sound of the musical instruments; they reckon them as stable, and not as fleeting,

who drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments, but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph. Wherefore now they shall be captives, among the first of the nobles who are carried away; and the house of evil-doers shall be removed, and the neighing of horses shall be taken away from Ephraim.'

And again by Jeremiah: "Collect your flesh, and sacrifices, and eat: for concerning neither sacrifices nor libations did I command your fathers in the day in which I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt.'
I believe that this has been the chink in the armor taught by very latter-day scholars. The only spiritual covenant was made by Christ to Abraham: Paul leapfrogs the entire Monarchy and reconnects us to Abraham by baptism where we become sons of God and Abraham:
Galatians 3:12 And the law is not of faith:
but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law,
being made a curse for us: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Galatians 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles
through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:27 [what I means is] as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Truitt Adair 2. He also quotes from some non-instrumental sources who in attempting to explain the presence of harps in Revelation 15:2-3, said, “It says they were holding the harps, it doesn’t say they were playing them.” While I do not believe the presence of harps in heaven, held or played, authorizes instrumental music in the assembly of the church on earth, neither would I use the foolish argument he quotes.

Scripture says the HELD the harps: try falling on your face and playing literal harps: all of these sounds-like created panic as the Levite musicians created panic. The other angel speaking to the LIVING was to PREACH THE GOSPEL because judgement is comming soon.  They "apprehended" the Word of God.

To fool those trying to fool others, the word holding means to APPREHEND and never means to PLAY. The harps are from God and the Greek literature is filled with images of us SPEAKING with the instrument God gave us.

Truitt Adair B. Rick presents some concepts which are true and beneficial. These are presented to prove that instrumental music is acceptable for the church. I do not believe he proves his conclusion but some of the concepts upon which he bases the arguments are valid.

1. He says, “I believe the gospel is barrier enough for unregenerate man...Why would we put up any barrier to Christ’s message that was not absolutely demanded by faithfulness to scripture?” Who would argue with that? When a person puts his trust in Christ and is baptized for the forgiveness of sin, God accepts him and adds him to His Church.

Wow! The Gospel is GOOD NEWS: it reads "come to me all ye that labor and are heaven laden and I will give you rest.

That's what He thinks: The command for anyone worthy of food and shelter is that he must GO and preach the gospel.  Those who are righteous and just based on their own community can by faith and baptism receive A holy spirit or A good conscience so they can apprehend (hold) the Word of God in their own now-holy spirit.  The gospel freedthem from the loaded burden of the Scribes and Pharisees Jesus called Hypocrites and the Exekiel reference names speakers, singers and instrument players. The gospel freed them from the tempe tax--sons don't pay taxes. The gospel removed the whole evil temple organization and freed them to attend synagogue to Rest, Read and Rehearse the Word of God as the SIMPLE PATTERN for the kingdom of Christ.
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:
and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Peter and the eleven preached the gospel on the day of Pentecost and there was NO music of any kind which by definition STANDS in the way of hearing the Word of Christ.  I think Rick is worried about obstacles to joining his institution.  However, he was not worried about the owners who were forced to cast themselves out of THEIR synagogue. How many of those and others will have a total disdain for the church when it knows that we have to IMPOSE loud vocal and instrumental performance to LEAD them to Christ. Everyone knows that the rhetoricians, singers and instrument players Christ identified as hypocrites in Ezekiel 33 are EXHIBITIONISTS and know that all of the ATTENTION (the worship word) will be sucked up by them.

This is THE GOSPEL or good news: no more laded burdens or burden laders: Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites meaning rhetoricians, singers and instrument players.  Nimrod and modern medicine knows that music is destructive to a large part of the population: when you USE music and musicians you EXCLUDE that population which cannot tolerate "decibel poisioning" which destroys their mental health and hearing.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

People gladly received the Word and were baptized because they KNEW the burden imposed by the Jewish clergy who fleeced the widows for maing long prayers or "hymns."

Undoubtedly the comic poet who [735] mounted the stage to praise himself in the parabasis would deserve to be handed over to the sticks of the beadles. Nevertheless, oh Muse, if it be right to esteem the most honest and illustrious of our comic writers at his proper value, permit our poet to say that he thinks he has deserved a glorious renown. First of all, he is the one who has compelled his rivals no longer [740] to scoff at rags or to war with lice;
and as for those Heracleses, always chewing and ever hungry,
        he was the first to cover them with ridicule and to chase them from the stage;
he has also dismissed that slave, whom one never failed to set weeping before you, [745] so that his comrade might have the chance of jeering at his stripes and might ask, “Wretch, what has happened to your hide? Has the lash rained an army of its thongs on you and laid your back waste?” After having delivered us from all these wearisome ineptitudes and these low buffooneries,
he has built up for us a great art, like a palace with high towers,
[750] constructed of fine phrases, great thoughts and of jokes not common on the streets.
Moreover it's not obscure private persons or women that he stages in his comedies; but, bold as Heracles, it's the very greatest whom he attacks, undeterred by the fetid stink of leather or the threats of hearts of mud.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,

However, he doesn’t represent what I believe when he says, “That’s what churches of Christ have done with our position on instrumental music.”

2. Rick says, “Abuse of a practice is never a sound reason for disuse of that practice.”

But, Rick has not--maybe cannot--catch on to the fact that the Campbells being Bible literate tried to restore:

Church is A School of Christ
Worship is Reading and Musing the Word.
That's what Christ ordained for the church of Christ in the wilderness

Truitt Adair:  This is true. Instrumental music should not be rejected because some have used it in a self-serving way. It is the practice itself which should first be questioned. If it can be shown that it is authorized in the first place, then it should be done in the right spirit with the right motives. Rick is correct when he emphasizes that God always requires a right heart and attitude in our worship.

3. In lesson two Rick observes, “Most members of churches of Christ...don’t have trouble with instrumental music anymore... And for several decades now, there’s this giant elephant that’s been in the room and we don’t talk about it.” Later he will add, “Most of our schools...don’t even try to teach the anti-instrument doctrine anymore. Most of our pulpits don’t teach it.

We (2)  are creating [DELIBERATELY] a serious credibility gap because we don’t even attempt any longer to defend from the Bible what we practice.” In lesson three he passionately states, “We cannot continue to ask our kids to hold on to a practice we’re not defending, Biblically.” I agree that it is time we start teaching what we believe regarding music in the church and why we believe it.

HERE IS THE CONFESSION OF THE SATANIC PATTERNISM WE KNEW ALL ALONG:

Everyone is aware that since the NACC was officially delisted from the Disciples of Christ in 1971 after the Restructure in 1968. Men like Leroy Garrett had begun what he calls his infiltrated colleges much earlier. The so-called Unity meetings by the NACC cut out some dupes and began using the "mask" of unity but coming into the meetings "loaded and cocked" with their very detailed "White Papers" using all of the mentions of instruments in a Topical Bible totally ignoring the story line which proved the opposite.  When these meetings like Jubilee began the plan was to do an end run around the older generation and cut out the "prime" youth and begin their lies about al of the Bible and recorded history--bruising and cutting logic and human decency.

See Rick Atcley-Chris Seidman on Instrumental Music Delusion in New Wineskins Magazine.

Boasting that the Progressive movement has finished its task, Rick Atchley confesses what we have been telling you from the beginning.

Rick Atchley: The era of the progressive Church of Christ is over.

Back in the 80’s you could go to any major city, especially in the South,
and you could find a progressive Church of Christ —
and if they would preach grace,
and if they would put words on a screen,
and if they would let divorced people place membership, they would grow.

The generation of Boomers has enough denominational loyalty that they’re going to find the least legalistic Church of Christ they can find, and that’s where they’re going to attend.

Well, we discipled the children of those progressive churches for a whole generation to grow past us Boomers.
They never heard the sermons we heard.
They never heard the rationale for a cappella music.
We sent them to youth rallies and Church of Christ events with some of the finest Christian bands in the world.
We discipled our children to leave our Movement!”

They’re not leaving the kingdom of God, and I’m not saying that — so please hear me say,
I’m not placing the health of the Movement above the kingdom of God — I
want my kids to love Jesus, but I do think that Churches need to understand.
If you look at most of the “progressive Churches of Christ” across the country,
they’re plateaued. In fact, they are in decline.

They are older and smaller, and their kids are gone. Their kids have fond memories of growing up in that church. The church taught them about Jesus, but now they are somewhere else.

You know, when I hear some of those old arguments about music, because of my history, even though I disagree, at least I can connect the dots and see how you got there. My children don’t even have the graph paper! “An Afternoon with Rick Atchley and Chris Seidman, Part 4” (New Wineskins, September – December 2010)
It is absolutely certain that the preachers have been cuckoled by the NACC using a few pampered dupes to accept their white paper filled with black lies. There is not one passage they have not used to justify their destroying their own denomination.
I fear that NOT ONE of them understands the difference between a SCHOOL OF JESUS CHRIST and a theater for entertaining the goats.

I remember one of the members boasting that he had convinced another preacher never to preach another sermon against instruments. This is proof that the BOASTED ABOUT infiltration and diversion was the reason many preachers were intimidated especially since their new Phd depended on agreeing with the men infiltrated from the Christian Church or the Baptists..

Truitt Adair continues:

Rick Atchley made no new and Biblically profound arguments in favor of instrumental music. True, he stated them very well, and with great contemporary appeal. However, all of his “better” arguments in favor of the instrument have been presented and debated for hundreds of years in “Christiandom” and for at least 100 years by those in the Restoration Heritage.

Rick Atchley noted that he had been working his hidden agenda for a long time: we think 10 to 12 years before "a" spirit stopped him and told him it was time to preach that sermon. Of course we know that Rick had been very vocal in his agenda to seduce churches of Christ into His loyalty to the Christian  Church.

Truitt Adair: The sad truth is, because we have not studied this issue in our churches for several decades, a whole generation has never heard nor dealt with many of these arguments. Therefore, they sound new and fresh and appealing to those who are not familiar with them and have not heard Biblical and logical answers to them. He put a new face on several traditional arguments in favor of instrumental music. These are his four best arguments for the instrument:

That proves that the intimidation worked: my experience over 80 years is that preachers never understood that the Bible is not a history of the world but a history of the Hebrew nation which began when God "picked out" Abraham from a band of caravan robbers and participants in Babylonianism which was the beginnning-- and end-- time Babylon Mother of harlots (Revelation 17) who used lusted after "fruits' (same as in Amos) as rhetoricians, singers and instrument players:

John called them sorcerers and consignes the "dogs" (Cynic, Catamite) and "sorcerers" to be cast alive into the Lake of Fire.  Christ led Isaiah 30 to define the "For Whom" God comes in judgment and for whom "hell" was prepared: the way to know that you are being driven their quite violently is the sound of wind, string and percussion instruments: these were the instruments Lucifer as the singing and harp-playing prostitute brought when he/she/it was cast as profane out of heaven.

"Cast as profane" has the same meaning as "halal" which is the PRAISE word used by David. #15 is not a psalm but a halal meaning "to make a fool of yourselves" because these were the boast or taunt songs since David was king and the Levites were under the King and commanders of the army: they made violent war with vile treatment of the enemy and not worship.

If you can hold on to the fact that God TURNED THEM OVER to worship the starry host because of the musical idolatry of the Egyptian trinity.  The Worship of the Monarchy was therefore defined by Amos and Stephen: history recognizes that the god of the Jews was Dionysus or Bacchus who under different forms is the foundation of most paganism.

Truitt Adair: 1. It is authorized in scripture. Rick will show from the Old Testament that instrumental music was commanded and blessed by God.
That's absolutely untrue: Rick Atchley missed Mount Sinai 101a: when they rose up to PLAY this was musical idolatry where the golden calf points to the trinitarian worship they had always practiced in Egypt.  God turned them over to "worship the starry host" and sentenced them to return to "beyond Babylon" for captivity and mostly death.

God had given them The Book of The Covenant of Grace which continued the Patriarchal order which had no religious rituals to perform. The rules of the Covenant were conditional but commanded no sacrificial system.

The Law of Moses gave them The Book of The Law and assigned the tribe of Levi to control things: after the elders fired God and demanded a king like the nations, God understood that they wanted to WORSHIP like the nations. He abandoned them to the kings to carry out the conditional captivity an death sentence.
If you think that anything in the Cursed Monarchy was God's command rather than God's abandonment you should read First Samuel Eight.

The Sacrificial System (not worship) was common to all of the Goyim or national systems: Egypt and Babylonian in specific identity.

If you will read 2 Chronicles 29 with a little more care, you will notice that it was Hezekiah's plan to conduct a purification or exorcism service to stop the plague which fell when the sacrificial system was taken from behind closed gates. After the purification they went throughout the city and burned down all of the "denominational churches."  Hezekiah burned Goats as a way to appease Israel and Azazel: the devil.  Just before Rick Atchley's PATTERNISM they burned infants because that is what they did in Egypt, Tyre and Jerusalem.

Adam Clark: In Second Chronicles when we see the dedication of the temple with animal sacrifices, we hear it repeated

that David made the instruments for David to praise therewith.
And the
priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the Lord,

1. which David the king had made to praise the Lord, because his mercy endureth for ever,

when David praised by their ministry;

2. and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood. 2 Chronicles 7:6

Verse 5. Four thousand praised the Lord] David made this distribution according to his own judgment, and from the dictates of his piety;

but it does not appear that he had any positive Divine authority for such arrangements.
As to the instruments of music which he made
they are condemned elsewhere;
see Amos vi. 5, to which this verse is
allowed to be the parallel.

Here, however, the author of this book states

he had the commandment of the prophet Nathan, and Gad the king's seer;
and this is stated to have been the commandment of the Lord by his prophets:
but the Syriac and Arabic give this a different turn-

"Hezekiah appointed the Levites in the house of the Lord, with instruments of music, and the sound of harps,

and with the HYMNS of DAVID,
and the
HYMNS of GAD, the king's prophet,
and of [Hymns of] NATHAN, the
king's prophet:

After the blood atonement for the king, kingdom, temple and staff, Hezekiah THOUGHT that he would offer the burnt offering of Goats to try to appease Israel which was alread the "Instrumental Sectarians" apparently bringing the musicians into the holy places (Amos). They laughed at Hezekiah just as the modern instrumental sectarians mock the "appeasers" knowing they can take them captive.
Matthew Henry notes that: "Some think that goats were chosen for the sin-offering because, by the disagreeableness of their smell, the offensiveness of sin is represented: others think, because it was said that the demons which the heathens then worshipped often appeared to their worshippers in the form of goats, God therefore obliged his people to sacrifice goats, that they might never be tempted to sacrifice TO goats. (cappella in Greek: a goat and a starry constellation)

The Goat was sacrified to Dionysus because they were harmful to the Vine. This is the SOURCE of the loud instrumental noise--never called music.

Nadab and Abihu went into a holy place and the Day of Atonement and the Scape-goat offered to Azazel or the devil as punishment.

Book of Enoch 8:1 And Azazel taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all

No honorable disciple can miss the fact that making NOISE during the BURNT OFFERING was commanded by the King. There are other parallel passages: Nehemiah looked all of the way back to David for A Temple Exorcism Ceremony. David commanded the instruments.
1 Chr 25:1  David, together with the commanders of the army, set apart some of the sons of Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun for the ministry of prophesying, accompanied by harps, lyres and cymbals. Here is the list of the men who performed this service:

The Levites were an old Infant Burning sect in Egypt: they worshipped Molech in the wilderness, in Amos's record and in Jerusalem.

Payne insists that the Hebrew of 1 Chronicles 25:1 unambiguously identifies these leaders as military commanders, an interpretation favoured by several Bible translations. (Payne, p 423-4; NASB, NIV, NKJV, NRSV, Jerusalem Bible) If military commanders had a particular interest in the appointment of musicians, it suggests a strong link between music and warfare.

Hercules was the father of the perverted worship in the Abomination of Desolation

Notes from 2 Maccabees defining the Abomination of Desolation
The tensions which led to the Jewish revolt were exacerbated when the Jewish high priest, a Hellenist himself, offered a sacrifice to Heracles (Hercules) who was a Greek symbol of homosexuality.
"The Hithpa'el of nb', in the ancient texts, refers to ecstasy and delirium rather than to the emission of a 'prophecy'." (de Vaux, Roland, The Bible and the Ancient Near East, p. 243 Doubleday

"Maniac inspirations, the violent possession which threw sibyls and priestesses into contortions--the foaming lip and streaming hair and glazed or glaring eyes-- have no place in the self-controlling dignity of Christian inspiration. Even Jewish prophets, in the paroxysm of emotion, might lie naked on the ground and rave (1 Sam. xix. 24); but the genuine inspiration in Christian ages never obliterates the self-consciousness or overpowers the reason. It abhors the hysteria and stimulation and frenzy which have sometimes disgraced revivalism and filled lunatic asylums." (Pulpit Commentary, 1 Cor., p. 460).
CHRISTIANS KNOW THAT THE CHURCH IS BUILT (INSTRUCTED) BY THE APOSTLES AND PROPHETS: not by a king abandoned to worship the starry host as the musical idolatry at Mount Sinai requested.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched. Jeremiah 7:20

This was the sentence conditionally imposed because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.  Canaan as the promised land became the Killing Fields as God let the kings lead them into
I BELIEVE THAT THE MUSICAL DECEIVERS HAVE TURNED THEIR CONGREGATION OVER TO THE WORSHIP OF THE DEVIL: history universally identifies the Devil and the "father" of musical instruments used in worship. In the 2 Chronicles proof-text, the worship of Azazel the result of mocking the Nadab and Abihu example.

Truitt Adair: He will stress the presence of “harps in heaven.”

The "elders" of note "fired" God, demanded a king and the king imposed musical instruments for the cursed sacrificial system.

The "beast" in the literature to which John probably points and even his definitions are to hide the truth from the Civil-Military-Clergy complex Rick Atchley imagines for his authority is defined by the Greek literature as:

The Cynics were "dogs" and they howled out an old style praise tune to seek partners for the night. Paul said for us to worship IN THE SPIRIT because of the "dogs" howling to get in. History is pretty solidly in associating religious performers as homosexuals. Music and the Effeminate
Johannes Quasten. In Music and Worship in Pagan and Christian Antiquity, beginning on page 41 He uses many of the church Fathers and Classical resources we also rely upon:

"Philodemus considered it paradoxical that music should be regarded as veneration of the gods while musicians were paid for performing this so-called veneration. Again, Philodemus held as self deceptive the view that music mediated religious ecstasy. He saw the entire condition induced by the noise of cymbals and tambourines as a disturbance of the spirit.

He found it significant that, on the whole, only women and effeminate men fell into this folly.

Accordingly, nothing of value could be attributed to music; it was no more than a slave of the sensation of pleasure, which satisfied much in the same way that food and drink did.

"Women and girls from the different ranks of society were proud to enter the service of the gods as singers and musicians. The understanding of this service was universal: these singers constituted the 'harem of the gods'." (End of Quasten)

"Hebrew music... was used in the luxurious times of the later monarchy the effeminate gallants of israel, reeking with perfumes, and stretched upon their couches of ivory, were wont at their banquets to accompany the song with the tinkling of the psaltery or guitar (Am. v1. 4-6), and amused themselves with devising musical instruments while their nation was perishing... music was the legitimate expression of mirth and gladness, and the indication of peace and prosperity." (Smith's Bible Dictionary, Music, p. 590).

PHARMAKIA identifies the speakers, singers and instrument players in Revelation 18: John called them sorcerers and says they will be (are) cast alive into the lake of fire.
Perhaps prophetic of our time in Revelation 17-18 where the lusted after fruits served under the Babylon mother of harlots. John called the singers and musicians sorcerers (pharmakon), said they HAD deceived the whole world and consigned to be cast alive into the of fire.

That's what Christ said in Isaiah 30 defining for whom hell was created.

Perhaps this is the religious and secular rulers giving up their thrones and rules.  For certain you cannot play the harps while falling down.  The spiritual concept of HOLDING your harps is to APPREHEND the Word of God:

CLASS NUMBER ONE:
Revelation 5:8 And when he had taken the book,
the FOUR BEASTS and four and twenty ELDERS
         fell down before the Lamb,
having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours,
which are the prayers of saints.

When Jesus and the apostles HYMNED a hymn both hymn and the Latin "dico"means to SPEAK or recite: none of the Bible is metrical so you cannot sing it in four part Atchley.

Revelation 5:9-10 And they sung a new song, SAYING,
"Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof:
for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood
        out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests:
and we shall reign on the earth. "
CLASS NUMBER TWO
Revelation 5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of MANY ANGELS
round about the throne and the beasts and the elders:
and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand,
        and thousands of thousands;
Revelation 5:12
SAYING with a loud voice,

"Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches,
and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing."

CLASS NUMBER THREE for the living
Revelation 5:13 And EVERY CREATURE which is in heaven, and on the earth,
and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them,
        heard I

Therefore, rather than worship the creature and the heavens, we are commanded worship God Who MADE all of these things:

Rev. 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven,
having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth,
and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
Rev. 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him;
for the hour of his judgment is come:
and worship him that MADE heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Rev. 14:8 And there followed another angel,
saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city,
because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

You will note that little brother and sister singers do not compose their own songs.  In Revelation 14 all of the SOUNDS LIKE are sounds which create terror or alarm: the angel to the LIVING warns of impending judgment and commands PREACH THE GOSPEL.

When you hear the SOUNDS LIKE harps pointing to things which create spiritual anxiety, this is Christ's SIGN that judgment is soon. If you are living and on the earth the ANTITHESIS: you are commanded to preach the gospel for time is short.

Truitt Adair: He will talk about the presence of Jesus and the early disciples in the Jewish Temple where instruments were certainly used.

We need a quote on that!

The sacrificial system had been effectively dead since just after the Return from captivity. The priesthood bought his office as highest bidders and most godly youth had fled the city rather than being turned into singers an prostitutes in the actual covered Holy and Most Holy Place. The race of VIPERS or the Crooked race were not fit to hear the gospel and may have been Edomites.  The Godly people including Jesus attended the Synagogue on rhe REST day: He stood up to READ and then decently sat down. There was not praise service in the Synagogue which people attended for worship which was uniquely "giving heed to the Word of God."  They went into the outer courts because that's where the people were and preached the gospel.

The fact that Jesus was not instantantly executed PROVES that He never went INTO any holy place or near any holy thing. Not even a Levite (singer-musician) could enter or come close to any holy thing or place: they aided the slaughter priests by making "noise to make the lambs silent before the slaughter."

Furthermore, no Levite, used as Warrior Noise makers and later under the king and commanders of the army--could come near the holy places of the sanctury or they would be executed. The patternism is that if a musician enters into the body of Christ as fulfilment of the Holy Place he / she / it is worthy of death.

Num 18:2 And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister BEFORE the tabernacle of witness. [never IN]

H8334 sharath shaw-rath' A primitive root; to attend as a menial or worshipper; figuratively to contribute to:--minister (unto), (do) serve (-ant, -ice, -itor), wait on.

Nadab and Abihu violates several commandments.

All of the non-Levites were called STRANGERS: therefore, if you were not of the tribe of Levi with the assignment to serve you could not even minister to the priests outside of the Temple-proper.  Therefore, no member of the "church" could come near the Tabernacle and none of the "ministers" could ENTER it.

"A stranger," that is, one, neither a priest nor a Levite, who should intrude into any departments of the sacred office, should incur the penalty of death. ROBERT JAMIESON

Num 18:4 And they shall be joined unto thee,
and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation,

The sacrificial system was NEVER the spiritual worship but part of the WRATH DISPELLING curse imposed because of Musical idolatry.

Num 18:5 And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar:
that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.

Contrary to being a spiritual worship service, the sacrificial system had been imposed and if it were not performed it would bring down God's wrath as punishment due for NOT performing what they had been abandoned to.

Num 18:6 And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel:
to you they are given as a gift for the LORD,
to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

Num 18:7 Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest’s office for every thing of the altar,
and within the veil; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest’s office unto you as a service of gift:
and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

"And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. Numbers 18:21

That also removes any modern cleric from imposing the tithe.

Truitt Adair: In summary he states, “there is not a hint in the Bible that God was ever anything but pleased by instrumental praise.” What he does not and cannot show, however, is a single passage of scripture which authorizes or even hints at the use of instrumental music in the worship of the New Testament church.

RICK ATCHLEY BUILDS UPON THE FOUNDATION OF PRIESTS AND LEVITES

A Church of Christ is built upon the foundation of the Prophets and Apostles.

Christ spoke through the writing prophets and universally repudiated the Civil-Military-Clergy complex as robbers and parasites.

All National Histories include the always pagan sacrificial system as well as the civillian Godly thread

That the Pharisees puffed up unto strange boasting,
were wont to pretend that the Divine Word was with them and in them,
and therefore foolishly affirmed that they had advanced to marvellous wisdom,
        the Spirit Itself will testify,
since Christ says by the Prophet Jeremiah unto them,
How do ye say, WE are wise, and the word of the Lord is with us?
                For nought to the scribes became their lying pen;
                the wise men were ashamed, were dismayed and taken;
what wisdom is in them? because they rejected the word of the Lord.

For how are they not taken rejecting the Living and Hypostatic Word of God, receiving not the faith to Him-ward,
but dishonouring the Impress of God the Father, and refusing to behold His most true Form (so to say)through His God-befitting Authority and Power?

Rick Atchley missed the fact that Christ ordained the CENI in no uncertain terms:

After the terminal fall from Grace because of Musical Idolatry, Christ ordained the Qahal, Synagogue or Church of Christ in the wilderness: then and now the object was to teach the Word of God by Reading and Rehearsing or discussing it.

See Nehemiah 8 defining how the Holy Convocation of the godly people was held: there simply was no need to load people down with the spiritual anxiety of ceremonial legalism.
Neh. 8:7 Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites,
caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place.

Neh. 8:8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly,

This was cantillation and never singing tunefully.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,
All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them

and, lo, I am with you alway,

Truitt Adair:  2. It inheres in the Greek word, “psallo.” Rick asks, “if the Holy Spirit’s purpose was to forbid instrumental music, why did he use a word so commonly associated with it?” Rick argues that the predominant use of “psallo” in the Septuagint and in the writings of Josephus was “playing an instrument.”

Utterly False: psallo is NEVER used meaning "playing on an instrument." If you miss Lexicon 101a you miss the fact that they do not DEFINE words but show how they are used in context. Psallo NEVER means more than "pluck with your finers and never with a plectrum" when defining a harp.  Scripture always uses separate words for Sing and play and the name of the instrument.

Isaiah 23:15 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot.
Isaiah 23:16 Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.

1. H3658 kinnôr kin-nore' From an unused root meaning to twang; a harp:—harp.

2. H5059 nâgan naw-gan' A primitive root; prop to thrum, that is, beat a tune with the fingers; especially to play on a stringed instrument; hence (generally) to make music:—player on instruments, sing to the stringed instruments, melody, ministrel, play (-er. -ing).

3 H7892 shı̂yr shı̂yrâh sheer, shee-raw' The second form being feminine; from H7891 ; a song; abstractly singing:—musical (-ick), X sing (-er, -ing), song.

Truitt Adair: 3. It is implied in the command to “sing psalms.” Rick points out that Psalms 33, 92 and 150 all mention praising God with various instruments. He then asks, “Doesn’t it seem odd to you that the Holy Spirit would command us to sing Psalms we are forbidden to practice?”

There is no COMMAND to sing songs: the Command in all of the never-musical passages is to SPEAK the word of God.  There are 57 true mizmors and history says that these were the songs RECITED.

However, in a "worship sense"

"Playing on musical instruments is prohibited on Sabbaths and holy days, and even to engage a non-Jew to play for Jews on Sabbath is considered a 'shebut' or disturbance of the Sabbath rest." Second, "music, except at marriage ceremonies, is generally prohibited, in token of mourning for the destruction of Jerusalem." (Jewish Encyclopedia, Vol. IX, p. 432, quoted by Kurfees).

"It is still banned by rigid adherents to old ways; but in ordinary conservative congregations it is unhesitatingly employed at weddings and other services on week days" (Isadore Singer, Jewish Encyclopedia, p. 134).

That's why Godly, Bible-literate people cast themselves out of their own synagogue.

#150 is not a psalm but a halal meaning to make yourself vile, to make a fool of yourself: these instruments all point to making war or making love. This is a boast song which threatened the enemy that if they don't turn coward they will be Robbed, Raped and Raptured.  Real or acted out homosexuality was the way to prove your superiority.

H1984 hâlal haw-lal' A primitive root; to be clear (originally of sound, but usually of color); to shine; hence to make a show; to boast; and thus to be (clamorously) foolish; to rave; causatively to celebrate; also to stultify:—(make) boast (self), celebrate, commend, (deal, make), fool (-ish, -ly), glory, give [light], be (make, feign self) mad (against), give in marriage, [sing, be worthy of] praise, rage, renowned, shine

The godly people attended synagogue on the Sabbath which quarantined them from the temple. On the other hand, the Levites abandoned to worship the starry host are said to have PROFANED the Sabbath which word means blow the flute, steal people's inheritance, pollute or prostitute. This is the word defining "Lucifer cast as profane out of heaven."

H3034 Yada yaw-daw' A primitive root; used only as denominative from H3027 ; literally to use (that is, hold out) the hand; physically to throw (a stone, an arrow) at or away; especially to revere or worship (with extended hands); intensively to bemoan (by wringing the hands):

To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, Psalm 92:2

Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn [murmuring] sound. Psalm 92:3

The Song was: Shiyr (h7891) sheer; or (the orig. form) 7788 (1 Sam. 18:6), shoor; a prim. root [rather ident. with 7788 through the idea of strolling minstrelsy]; to sing: - behold [by mistake for 7788], sing (-er, - ing man, -ing woman).

Shuwr (h7788) shoor; a prim. root; prop. to turn, i. e. travel about (as a harlot or a merchant): - go, sing. See also 7891.

People who have watched "worship teams in action" see this persona: it assuredly attracts a different kind of flock.  This would never be something a mature male would do before David reversed things:
1Samuel 18:6 And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick

h5034 Nabal

Delitzsch, Psalms: The word "psalm", which is derived from the Greek word psalmos, is a translation of the Hebrew term mizmor, which is the title standing at the head of fifty-seven of the psalms. Thus it is evident that not every psalm has the superscription "psalm". But it is this word which has come to be the designation of the whole book.

Thus we see that although the one hundred and fifty units are called in the Scriptures the Book of Psalms, only fifty-seven of them bear the superscription psalm (mizmor) in the Hebrew Old Testament. The title which the Book of Psalms bears in Hebrew is Sepher Tehillim - the Book of Praises. It is this Hebrew word tehillim....  In Hellenistic Greek the corresponding word psalmoi' (from psa'llein = zimeer) is the more common; the Psalm collection is called bi'blos psalmoo'n (Luke 20:42; Acts 1:20) or psaltee'rion, the name of the instrument (psanteerîn in the Book of Daniel)

"The name of psaltery entered Christian literature in the 3rd century B.C. translation of the Old Testament called the Septuagint where, in the Psalms, nebel was translated psalterion. Thus, Nebuchadnezzar's idolatrous ensemble included the Aramic psantria. Notice, also, that the book of Psalms has also become known as the Psalter (or psalterium), from the hymns sung with this harp. Source

# 47 and 81 are not psalms: While mizmor can be performed with an instrument, these psalms or mizmors are not aboup playing instruments

When the scholars translated the Septuagint into the Greek language the word "psallo" was used for a few psalms because ALWAYS in the Greek world the word pointed to making war, to smiting people, to musical seduction with the harp: it is never translated as melody in the TUNEFUL sense nor does it have any more musical content than the English word pluck or smite: Psallo means to smite with the fingers and NEVER with a plectrum: that outlaws guitar picks, flutes, organs, trumpets etal.  Rather than being permissive it is NARROWLY RESTRICTIVE and never has any musical content unless it is a harp; which is SMITED with the fingers to make a sound like the bow string.

What the translators were SPEAKING on these 57 mizmors was the inherent making war or making perverted love understood by ANY Greek kid.
Psalmos also appears in the LXX as equivalent to the Hebrew word neginah [5058]. This Hebrew term is used to describe a wide variety of songs. Neginah is translated by psalmos in Lam 3:14 (song), in Lam 5:14 (music) and in Ps 69:12 (song). It is striking to observe that in the LXX translation of Lam 3:14 and Ps 69:12, psalmos, or its verbal form, is used for songs that are not only uninspired but are in fact the product of the wicked, even drunkards, who mocked God and His word. The Hebrew term neginah is used elsewhere in the Hebrew Scriptures of: the songs of the wicked, Job 30:9 (song); the inspired praise of God, Psalm 61 title (Neginah-a song performed on a stringed instrument); and the uninspired praisd of the Lord composed by King Hezekiah, Is 38:20 (my songs).

5059.  nagan, naw-gan´; a primitive root; properly, to thrum, i.e. beat a tune with the fingers; expec. to play on a stringed instrument; hence (generally), to make music:—player on instruments, sing to the stringed instruments, melody, ministrel, play(-er, -ing).
H5060 nâga‛ naw-gah' A primitive root; properly to touch, that is, lay the hand upon (for any purpose; euphemistically, to lie with a woman); by implication to reach (figuratively to arrive, acquire); violently, to strike (punish, defeat, destroy,

The Psallo word is the FORCE used on laggards:

Several means were used to force citizens to attend the assemblies; the shops were closed; circulation was only permitted in those streets which led to the Pnyx [ekklesia]; finally, a rope covered with vermilion was drawn round those who dallied in the Agora (the market-place), and the late-comers, ear- marked by the imprint of the rope, were fined.

Jesus consigned the pipers, singers and dancers to the marketplace.

Truitt Adair: He also states that “the first Christians...would’ve known exactly what it meant.” My question is, if they knew that “make melody” meant to “play an instrument,” why was the New Testament Church exclusively a capella and why was the instrument opposed in Patristic writings for hundreds of years?

Rick’s assertion that “psallo” included instrumental music in the Koine Greek of the New Testament disagrees with every recognized Greek lexicon and with such undisputed Greek scholars among us as Everett Furguson and Hugo McCord. For documentation on the meaning of Psallo, I refer you to “A Cappella Music in the Public Worship of the Church,” by Furguson (p.16-27) and “Sing His Praise,” by Rubel Shelly, (p.60- 74.) McClintock and Strong’s Cyclopedia of Biblical Knowledge says, “The Greek word “psallo” is applied among the Greeks of modern times exclusively to sacred music, which in the Eastern Church has never been any other than vocal, instrumental music being unknown in that Church, as it was in the primitive Church.” (Vol. VIII, p.739)

The word "psallo" is never at any time or place meant "musical" melody. The Gree Melos is the word Paul would have used if he had even thought that you could make modern melody while fulfilling the OPERATIVE direct command to SPEAK the Biblical text.

Speaking is EXTERNAL but singing and melody (or grace) is INTERNAL because the external practices would destroy the teaching-learning process. Paul defines the assembly clearly and no one misunderstood that EVER, NEVER. They simply imposed a form for of non-metrical singing about the year 373 ad.

THE RHETORICAL AND MUSICAL PERFORMERS WILL NOT GIVE YOU TIME TO MEDITATE.

The sacrificial system was effectively dead and there is no "musical Sacrifices" in the inner court OFF LIMITS to the godly people. All of the godly people attended synagogue and they would know that "vocal and instrumental rejoicing' including an elevated form of speeking (rhetoric=hypocrite) was outlawed. They had never sung a songin the synagogue. They had only heard the TRUMPETS of the hypocrite announcing his OFFERING. They knew that singing with instruments was almost exclusively a female prostitute mark: if they saw a male singing and playing an instrument they knew that "he was drunk, perverted or just having fun."

The Judas bag was carried by  Judas because he was a thief: the son of perdition.  In Greek literature and numerous vase paintings the Judas Bag was always the box attached to the spotted flute case below. The SOP has the same root meaning as "psallo" and was the SIGNAL for Satan to enter into Judas. One can suspect that modern Judas Goats are seen by  God and the "fleeing owners" with the same persona..

RICK ATCHLEY ON # 81 which is not a mizmor:

3. Rick argues from Psalm 81:1-3 that the command to praise God with instrumental music pre-dated the Law of Moses, therefore it was not part of the “law that was nailed to the cross.”

This same argument is used by Seventh Day Adventists to prove that the Sabbath law is still in effect. This is a really poor and unbiblical argument. Rick should be ashamed to make such an argument. By this same logic we could bring in animal sacrifices and a host of other Old Testament practices that pre-dated the law of Moses.

and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.

Moreover, we must take into consideration the facts that the compass of the tenor extends even into the soprano, that the singers were of different ages down to twenty years of age, and that Oriental, and more particularly even Jewish, song is fond of falsetto singing. Num. 10:10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.

and Israel would none of me.
Psa. 81:12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust:
and they walked in their own counsels.
Psa. 81:13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me,
and Israel had walked in my ways!
Psa. 81:14 I should soon have subdued their enemies,
and turned my hand against their adversaries.
Psa. 81:15 The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him:
but their time should have endured for ever.

This is common: THIS is what YOU do but this proves that YOU do not intend to hear MY VOICE.

Truitt Adair: 6. He makes the argument that “Jesus never deals with the issue.”

When you do not love the TRUTH Jesus sends you strong delusions so you believe your own lies: anyone willing to deliberately sow massive discord without being able to read BLACK text ond BROWN paper and define words is following an UNholy spirit of delusion. In fact the girlish Levites beat the flesh off Jesus with their FLUTES just as Psalm 41 prophesying the outlawed mocking would not be by Judas:

Mark 10:34 And they shall mock him,
        and shall scourge him,
        and shall spit upon him,
        and shall kill him:
and the third day he shall rise again.

Truitt Adair: and “Instrumental music is a non-issue in the Book of Acts.” What is admitted is that instrumental music in the church is mentioned in neither the gospels nor the Book of Acts. This seems to do more to disprove rather than prove his position. Perhaps the weakest and silliest argument he makes is the mention of “music and dancing” in the story of the prodigal son. A close rival is the assertion that “nowhere in the New Testament is congregational singing specifically authorized.” Even if that is true, which I deny, it has nothing to do with whether or not instrumental music is authorized. Telling someone they are wrong about congregational singing being authorized doesn’t prove that instrumental music is authorized for congregational worship.

The synagogue excludes all hypocritic performance: God doesn't need it and when you hear a rhetorician or sophist you know that he is pulling the wool over your eyes getting it off as fleece. Jesus "synagogued" with the people several times and there is no mention of music. Paul synagogued out on mission and never mentioned music: only Ephesus and Colossee seems to have been plagued with people just out of paganism and thought that they also heard "spirits."  Paul EXCLUDES all such performance before he defines synagogue as "speaking with one mind and one mouth that which is written."

Simple Simons know that you don't make musical noise when Jesus comes to be our ONLY teacher when the elders teach that which is written. Again, the synagogue is defined totally. Both Jew and Gentile would understand the morality issues because they had attended synagogue. Timothy was wise unto salvation because Christ defined the future REST inclusively and exclusively. Since the prophets were read in the synagogue and not that Christ calls "the lying pen of the Scribes" He names speakers, singers, instrument players, hypocrites:

Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time
        hath in every city
        them that preach him,
being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

There are in fact many allusions to musical idolatry in the book of acts. We have shown that Stephen pointed tothe musical idolatry at Mount Sinai as recorded by Amos in Acts 7. The rejoicing in the works of their hands was musical performance.

Mark Henderson: Instrumental music is a non-issue.
You don’t see a discussion in the Book of Acts.
There is nothing in the New Testament that even remotely resembles
the detailed instructions for worship that we saw in the Old Testament.
The New Testament simply has nothing to say about instruments in worship.

The Old Testament commands and encourages the use of instruments, and the heavenly vision includes instruments in the picture.

In between, the New Testament says nothing about instruments in worship, so how did we end up with this anti-instrument heritage?
Acts 13:5 And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.
Acts 13:6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus:
Magos [a^, ou, ho, Magian, one of a Median tribe, Hdt.1.101, Str. 15.3.1: hence, as belonging to this tribe,

3. enchanter, wizard, esp. in bad sense, impostor, charlatan, Heraclit.14, S.OT387, E.Or.1498 (lyr.), Pl.R.572e, Act.Ap.13.6, Vett. Val.74.17: also fem., Luc.Asin.4, AP 5.15 (Marc. Arg.).

Acts 14 Paul gets violent with those practicing the Abomination of Desolation.

These false teachers missed the Abomination of Desolation which makes the universal association between religious music and perverted males or prostitutes.  Reading Acts 7 should have warned them about musical idolatry at Mount Sinai and Amos and reading Acts 14 might help.

When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, "The gods have come down to us in human form!" Acts 14:11

Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes (Mercury) because he was the chief speaker. Acts 14:12

The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought bulls and wreaths to the city gates because he and the crowd wanted to offer sacrifices to them. Acts 14:13

2 Maccabees 6:2 - and also to pollute the temple

> in Jerusalem and call it the temple of Olympian Zeus,
>
and to call the one in Gerizim the temple of Zeus the Friend of Strangers, as did the people who dwelt in that place.

It is a historical fact that the Jews anticipated that the Messiah would be Bacchus of Dionysus--the perverted new wineskin god. See the resources in 2 Maccabees and the SYMBOLISM of building gymnasiums.

Truitt Adair: 7. After listing Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16, James 5:13 and I Corinthians 14:26, Rick states, “There is no New Testament command to sing only a capella. To say that “sing” means “sing only” is a human inference that comes dangerously close to speaking where God has not spoken.” He illustrates his point by saying that an invitation to come to his ranch and sing songs doesn’t mean one couldn’t bring his guitar. That may be true, but if I really wanted someone to play the guitar at a party, the only way to be sure would be to say, “By the way, don’t forget to bring your guitar to accompany our singing.” If my wife invites someone over for a cup of tea it does not mean they can’t put cream and (7) sugar in it. However, if I order a cup of tea, I am not authorizing the waiter to put cream and sugar in it unless I tell him to. When God wanted singing with instrumental accompaniment in the Old Testament, he certainly knew how to ask for it. I believe if he wanted instrumental accompaniment in the church he would have asked for it that way. Presuming otherwise might come dangerously close to “speaking where God has not spoken.”

The Direct action commanded is to SPEAK
1. That which is written for our learning with one mind and one mouth Romans 15
2. The Will of God, Spirit or the inspired text (Ephesians 5)
3. The Word of Christ (Colosians3)

This is Paul's common, clergy-fooling way of using antithesis:

EPHESIANS 5

Paul used antithetical parallelism to denounce outward singing or instrumental noise.

II. Antithetical Parallelism--The thought of the first line is expressed by an antithesis in the second;
or is counterbalanced by a contrast in the second. This parallelism is very common in the Book of Proverbs:

(a) The tongue of the wise adorneth knowledge,
{but} The mouth of the fool blurteth out folly.

Prov., xv, 2.
(b) Soundness of heart is the life of the flesh,
{but} Envy is the rot of the bones.
--Proverbs 14:30.

The thoughts of the righteous are right,
But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful. Proverbs 12:5 (NKJV)
Notice Pauls use of parallelism: The word SPEAK is the opposite of POETRY or MUSIC. Therefore,

Eph. 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise,
BUT understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Eph. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess;
        BUT [instead] be filled with the Spirit;

Eph. 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
        {BUT} singing and making melody IN your HEART to the Lord;

Jesus said that worship must be in SPIRIT as the opposite of PLACES. Therefore, rather than follow the pagan religions be faithful to the Christ-ordained synagogue which was exclusive of "vocal or instrumental rejoicing."

THERE IS NO SINGING COMMANDED. THE WORD IS SPEAK.
IF YOU GRASP THAT SYNAGOGUE IS A SCHOOL OF THE WORD THE DISCORDERS ARE SILENCED
The SPEAKING is the opposite of poetry or music: the Ephesians were one of the two churches which had to be warned about singing in the churh when it had been outlawed in the synagogue well attended by Gentiles.

SPEAKING that which is written for our learning is the thesis: aeido and psallo is the antithes as the root definition would beclear to the Ephesians.
Singing speaks of making noise or sounds with the voice or any inanimate thing

Aeidō

PSALLO is never used for musical melody.

The twang of the harp aroused the same spiritual anxiety as twanging the bow: thereofre, Paul loutlawed the "laded burden" and demanded that they enjoy the REST Jesus died to give us.
Eur. Ba. 784 Pentheus
Already like fire does this insolence of the Bacchae blaze up, a great reproach for the Hellenes. [780] But we must not hesitate. Go to the Electran gates, bid all the shield-bearers and riders of swift-footed horses to assemble, as well as all who brandish the light shield and pluck bowstrings with their hands, so that we can make an assault against [785] the Bacchae. For it is indeed too much if we suffer what we are suffering at the hands of women.

8. Rick’s emotional appeal to allow gifted musicians to honor God by using their God-given musical gifts in the assembly is a very weak argument. This supposes that it could be shown that instrumentation is one of those gifts today, and that all spiritual gifts may be used in the worship assembly of the church. This argument proves too much, far more than Rick would likely agree with. Is he really asserting that every gifted person, regardless of what the gift is, should use that gift in the assembly?

THIS IS RANK LEGALISM: the flow of information is from God to us.  A musician might aid "worship" in Ricks' mind but worship is literally falling on your face or giving attention to the reading of God's Word. What Rick is defining is "how to suck in the seekers to pay my bills." Worship must be silent or reverent or God is till a Consuming Fire (Hebrews12)

EPHESIANS 4, THE GIFTED LEADERS TO SILENCE PERFORMANCE TO ENABLE EKKLESIA

Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists;
        and some, pastors and teachers

WHY?

Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Most of recorded history notes that music arouses fear and spiritual anxiety because it taps into the very nature of a human with the power of Fear or Flight: the other drug-induced or music-induced feeling is that of sexuality which is sold as the "spirit" inside.

g3619.Edifying.gif

1Corinthians 14:3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

1Corinthians 14:4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

2Corinthians 10:8 For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:

There is no way to EDIFY a person by letting them watch a musical performance by a whiney-piney praise team allof which sounds like they have a gender problem. That would not be surprised since the Serpent in the garden of Eden was a musical enchanter(ess)

HOW DO WE GET ACCESS TO THE TRUTH

The Church is a school (only) of the Word of Christ (only).  Paul
Eph. 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise,

Eph. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess;

It is "prophetic" that the agents who man the podiums (put down in 1 Corinthians 1 and takers of the shekals do not KNOW the meaning of a Christian or a Disciple; worship is going to Jesus' Bible class where HE is the only performer if we "teach that which has been taught."

Acts 7:37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel,
A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

A CHURCH OF CHRIST HAS TWO ROLES: TEACHERS AND DISCIPLES

Heb. 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers,
        ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God;
and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

HERE IS THE LAW OF DELIVERING CHRISTIAN ORACLES

1Pet. 4:11 If any man speak,
        let him speak as the oracles of God;
if any man minister,
let him do it as of the ability which God giveth:

that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
