Messianic Jewish Land Promise Forfeited?

THE CLAIM OF CANAAN AS BELONGING ONLY TO THE JEWS

But Deuteronomy 4:32-40 resists such identification by non-Jewish readers..

Has anything as grand as this ever happened, or has its like ever been known? Has any people [other than the Jewish people] heard the voice of a god speaking out of a fire, as you have, and survived? Or has any god ventured to go and take for himself one nation [the Jewish people] from the midst of another by prodigious acts . . . from amidst that fire you [the Jewish people] heard His words. And because He loved your fathers [Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob], He chose their heirs [the Jewish people] after them; He Himself, in His great might, led you out of Egypt, to drive from your path nations greater and more populous than you, to take you into their land and assign it to you [the Jewish people] as a heritage, as is still the case. . . . Observe His laws and commandments, which I enjoin upon you [the Jewish people] this day, that it may go well with you and your children after you . ..

OTHER BIBLE STUDIES IN CONTEXT DENYING THE CLAIMS OF MESSIANIC JEWS.

MESSIANIC JEWS: BIBLE STUDIES TABLE OF CONTENTS
Exodus 32 They Sat Down to Eat and rose up to play: they repudiated The Book of The Covenant of Grace given by Christ to Abraham to ALL NATIONS.
Deuteronomy 32 They Rose Up To Play

1 Corinthians 10 They sat Down to Eat and Rose Up To Play  God gave Israel The Book of The Covenant of Grace as that made by Christ to Abraham.  The Israelites engaged in musical idolatry of the Egyptian trinity. God gave them The Book of The Law and Moses coultd not atone for them. The Angle (Christ) led them but God said nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.

Christ came to give REST to those who were baptized into Christ: [Gal 3]. There can be no racial distinction in the body of Christ who rescued Jews along with the Abrahamic Gens
who were not so burdened.

Land and Spiritual Covenant deliberately forfeited.
The Book of The Covenant was given to Abraham by God in Christ. The Israelites now religiously Egyptians rejected DISCIPLINE and demanded the "gods" of Egypt which let them "run wild and naked."

The Gospel Promise: I Will Give you rest. Jesus also that the kingdom of God does not come with "ovservation." That word means "Religious Observations." Christ defined the Church of Christ in the Wilderness to give the godly people REST from the normal pagan seventh-day religious efforts to get their god's attention. The command was to READ the Word and Rehearse or discuss the Word as it was delivered to small group elders of 50s etc.

The Levites Almost all Messianic Jewish and Christian "worship" and money is devoted to the belief that God commanded instrumental worship in the sacrificial system.  They claim that "Since He has not changed His mind, what Christ ordained as A School of His Word has been turned into "theaters for holy entertainment."

The Kingdom of God does not come with Religious Observations or Services

Don't pay for people to force you to violate that Gospel promise.

Joe Shulam: First Century Jewish Identity as a Model  Joseph claims that Jesus and the first churches were 100% based on the Torah.

Joseph Shulam: First Century Jewish Identity as a Model Part Two  We have added a bit of "Old Testament" which the later Jews seemed to have missed as they came to be the oppressors of the Gentiles with whom Christ made the Abrahamic Covenant which never ceased.

Joe Shulam: The Way of the Lord is not Jewish  Genesis 18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgmentTHAT the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Joseph Shulam: was Jesus and the church "Torah" observant and worshipped at the temple.

Messianic and musical christians insist that: Jesus Came Not to Destroy the Law but to Fulfil it.  The prophecies are defined by Jesus as "CONCERNING ME." Fulfil is the prophecy that A NEW NATION WOULD BE BORN IN ONE DAY. This purpose would be neither Jewish nor Gentile in a racist sense but that ALL people be one.

Christ made the only spiritual Covenant with Abraham which was to all nations (Gentiles at that time).  Scripture's intention is to establish the promise of God to be a blessing to everyone. However, that blessing depending on remaining obedient to the covenant promise. Those tribal people who went on to be what we call "Jews" in a national sense went on to make that Covenant promise into laws trying to keep everyone from harm or death.  Those callled the "uncircumcision" by the "circumcised" as "without God" were not unique except in a national sense:
Romans 4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision,
        a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised:
        that he might be the father of all them that believe, t
        hough they be not circumcised;
        that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:
Romans 4:12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only,
        but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham,
        which he had being yet uncircumcised.
1Corinthians 7:18 Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
Because both those who called themselves "Jews" and those they called "Gentiles" did not need to be circumcised in order to be grafted back into Abraham.
Colossians 2:10 And ye are complete in him,
        which is the head of all principality and power:
Colossians 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised
        with the circumcision made without hands,
        in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Moses was justified by faith when he simply obeyed the simple commands of God (Genes 26).  All who call themselves "Jews" were justified or cleansed in the spirit or mind were under no greater "religious" burden but to live right and just. That is the promise that Jews inherited from Abraham.
 Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
Jews will always naturally have a national identity just as the French will have their national identity: and they must obey the laws of the nation to live in harmony with them.  However, the burden of various ritual purification was only for the external person:
Hebrews 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, t
        hat the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest,
        while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
Hebrews 9:9 Which was a figure for the time then present,

in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices,
        that could not make him that did the service perfect,
        as pertaining to the conscience;
Hebrews 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
Hebrews 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves,
        but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place,
        having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Hebrews 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats,
        and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean,
        sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Romans 14 is an example of people living under different cultures: specificially what food stalls they entered and upon which day of pagan sacrifices they attended.

However, Paul warns that none of those cultural things have an edifying or educating value and must be kept private.  In Romans 15 Paul defines the role of the Synagogue which was defined almost totally by Christ in the Wildernes.

h4744.Miqra.gif

Both Jew and Gentile were quarantined from the inner court and all of the sacrificial system.  However, both freely attended synagogue and that made both "wise unto salvation."
Acts 15:20 But that we write unto them,
        that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication,
        and from things strangled, and from blood.
Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city
        them that preach him,
        being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
The disciples of Moses were obedient to The Book of The Covenant made with Abraham whereas The Book of The Law regulated the national observations.  The Covenant laws were conditional but not mandatory concerning sacrifices.
Luke 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
The Law is used for our learning but not for observationa as having spiritual value:
Acts 13:15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
Churches of Christ attempted to restore the simple role of the synagogue or ekklesia: The Campbells defined:
  1. Church as A school of Christ
  2. Worship as Reading and Musing the Word of God.
  3. Jesus attended synagogue but the rituals of the Law of Moses were not practiced but simply taught for our learning.
Jesus asked the apostles "Could you not tarry with me for one hour."  Paul would define what he called "synagogue" in the same way.  After assemblying to teach and admonish one another, the Christian System does not prescribe dress, food, days or rituals when we leave "Bible class." That is the way to keep the unity between all types of 'cultures' especially in places like America where personal preferences would destroy the "School of the Word' role.

In Matthew 28 Jesus Christ claims the name (singular) of Father, Son and Spirit: that would teach the pagans that there is only ONE GOD and when you see Jesus you see the IMAGE, word, righteousness, grace and authorty in a visible and audible form.

His commmand was to teach and observere what HE commanded to be taught: Peter makes that the PROPHETS by the Spirit OF (preposition) of Christ and the prophecies made more certain or FULFILLED by Jesus Christ.  The Law of Moses added because of transgression would lose it's power when what was prophesied of Christ was fulfilled.

Watch to see that the LAND and SPIRITUAL Covenant was made by Christ to Abraham.  God gave that Covenant but the people REFUSED to hear the audible voice of God. They violated the covenant by musical idolatry of the Egyptian trinity at Mount Sinai. God then revoked The ABRAHAMIC Covenant for those "he turned over to worship the starry host."  God then gave them The Book of The Law and sentenced them to captivity and death in Assyria and Babylon.  Most of those who agreed to and then violated THE COVENANT OF CHRIST died in the wilderness.  In time God gave them kings in His anger and carried out the captivity and death sentence.  In the meantime God judged all people by their acknowledgment of Him and by practicing social justice: God does not need for us to perform for Him but He wants us to live in harmony with others and "do no harm."

Only tiny  remnant would be saved when they turned to Christ on the day of Pentecost. Neither the Gentiles "natural religion" nor the Jew's religion made them inherently righteous: Jesus died to lift all of the religious laded burdens and burden laders which would allow people to be His disciples of a very simple form of worship.

Notice the two GROUPS which is always the meaning of PREDESTINATED purpose.

And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob,
[1] and to restore the preserved of Israel:
[2] I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles,
[3] that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. Isa 49:6

Salvation is Yeshuwah! God chooses those who DO NOT repudiate Him by THEIR OWN SINS.

Thus saith the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One,
        to him whom man despiseth,
        to him whom the nation abhorreth,
        to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship,
        because of the Lord that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel,
        and he shall choose thee. Isa 49:7

Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee:
[1] and I will preserve thee,
[2] and give thee for a covenant of the people,
[3] to establish the earth, to cause to
inherit the desolate heritages; Isa 49:8

Christ in Isaiah speaks of a NEW COVENANT:

Reserved does not mean predestiated but:

Esaias also crieth concerning Israel,
Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea,
a remnant shall be saved: Ro.9:27

For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea,

yet a remnant of them shall return:

the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness. Isa 10:22
But what saith the answer of God unto him?
         I have reserved to myself seven thousand men,
        who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Ro.11:4
BOWING TO BAAL WAS INDUCED BY MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AS WARRIOR'S WEAPONS

Notice that God is reminding the Jews of WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN: Notice also that this was NOT The Book of The Law but The Book of the Covenant which continued a patriarchal Covenant Which Christ made with Abraham.

Deuteronomy 4:31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee,
        neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Deuteronomy 4:32 For ask now of the days that are past,
        which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth,
        and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other,
        whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?
Deuteronomy 4:33 Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking
        out of the midst of the fire
, as thou hast heard, and live?
Deuteronomy 4:34 Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation,
        by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand,
        and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors,
        according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

GOD PROVED BEYOND A DOUBT THAT THE "GODS" OF EGYPT HAD NO POWER.

Deuteronomy 4:35 Unto thee it was shewed,
        that thou mightest know that the LORD [Jehovah] he is God [Elohim];
        there is none else beside him.
Deuteronomy 4:36 Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice,
        that he might instruct thee:
        and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire;
        and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.
Deuteronomy 4:37 And because he loved thy fathers,
        therefore he chose their seed after them,
        and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;

Deuteronomy 4:38 To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art,
        to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 4:39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart,
        that the LORD he is God in heaven above,
        and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
Deuteronomy 4:40 Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments,
        which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee,
        and with thy children after thee,

        and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth,
        which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.

GOD IS NOT MAKING AN UNCONDITIONAL PROMISE WHICH CLEARLY IS NULL AND VOID BUT REMINDING THEM OF WHAT THEY REFUSED TO ACCEPT.

Deuteronomy 5:1 And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them,
        Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day,
        that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.
Deuteronomy 5:2 The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
Deuteronomy 5:3 The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers,
        but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.

Keep in mind that this is what is described as The Book of The Covenant and not yet The Law of Moses.

Moses is speaking of that pre fall from grace covenant

Deuteronomy 5:4 The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,
Deuteronomy 5:5 (I stood between the LORD and you at that time,
        to shew you the work of the LORD:
        for ye were afraid by reason of the fire,
        and went not up into the mount;) saying,
Deuteronomy 5:6 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt,
        from the house of bondage.

Deuteronomy 5:24 And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath
         shewed us his glory and his greatness,
         and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire:
         we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.

However, this extremely rare Word of God was not something they nor most of us can bear to hear. We insist that we have pastors and other clergy to be our mediator.  However, that fearfulness was and is an obstacle.

Deuteronomy 5:25 Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us:
        if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.
Deuteronomy 5:26 For who is there of all flesh,
         that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire,
         as we have, and lived?

THEY TOLD MOSES THAT THEN NEEDED A MEDIATOR: A SAVIOR

Deuteronomy 5:27 [You] Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say:
        and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee;
        and we will hear it, and do it.
Deuteronomy 5:28 And the LORD heard the voice of your words,
        when ye spake unto me;
        and the LORD said unto me,
        I have heard the voice of the words of this people,

  which they have spoken unto thee:
        they have well said all that they have spoken.

God didn't attempt to soffen the vastness between Him and His creatures: they have said it, let them go!

God doesn't keep on arguing with people: in Amos God had been there, gone and would not pass by them again.  Paul had no problems understanding Exodus 32 etal:
Hebrews 12:18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched,
        and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
Hebrews 12:19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words;
        which voice they that heard intreated that
        the word should not be spoken to them any more:
Hebrews 12:20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded,
        And if so much as a beast touch the mountain,
        it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
Hebrews 12:21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said,
        I exceedingly fear and quake:)

God made Jesus of Nazareth both Lord and Christ to cast out that fear.

Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion,
        and unto the city of the living God,
        the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
Hebrews 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn,
        which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all,
        and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant,

and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Hebrews 12:25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh.
        For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth,
        much more shall not we escape,
         if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
Hebrews 12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth:
        but now he hath promised, saying,
        Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
Hebrews 12:27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth
         the removing of those things that are shaken,
        as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken
        may remain.
Hebrews 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved,
        let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably
        with reverence and godly fear:
Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.
God recognized this failure to listen to His voice as the total rejection of The Book of The Covenant which was a detailed Christian Covenant made with Abraham. The implication was that they had no intention of obeying although they promised that they would.

God expresses sorrow that the HEART was just not in the people when He often offered great advantages. No promises of God will have any appeal to those not OF FAITH or OF TRUTH.

Deuteronomy 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them,
        that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always,
        that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

God would speak The Book of The Covenant of Grace and "you shall teach them" was the only purpose of the synagogue:

Deuteronomy 5:30 Go say to them,
        Get you into your tents again.

Deuteronomy 5:31 But as for thee, stand thou here by me,
        and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments,
        which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

THIS WAS NOT THE BOOK OF THE LAW BUT OF THE NEW  COVENANT MADE BY CHRIST

Deuteronomy 5:32 Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you:
        ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
Deuteronomy 5:33 Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you,
        that ye may live, and that it may be well with you,
        and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.

That promise was related to the fleshly men and did not promise spiritual regeneration to them.

THE FALL AND PENALTY

Deuteronomy 9:7 Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the LORD thy God
         to wrath in the wilderness:
         from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt,
        until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the LORD.
Deuteronomy 9:8 Also in Horeb ye provoked the LORD to wrath,
        so that the LORD was angry with you to have destroyed you.

Moses went up to the mountain to receive The Book of The Covenant which the people REFUSED to hear directly from the voice of God:

Deuteronomy 9:9 When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone,
        even the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you,
        then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:
Deuteronomy 9:10 And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God;
        and on them was written according to all the words,
        which the LORD spake with you in the mount
        out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

The written Book of The Covenant which put on stone and not just the ten commandments. Later when the people rise up against god this Covenant made by Christ to Abraham and put in written form would be CONFISCATED from the ungodly people and replaced with The Law which had no spiritual healing falue.

In Exodus 31 this covenant OUTLAWS the musical idolatry which they fell back into BECAUSE they refused to hear the voice of God speaking the Covenant as God in Christ had originally spoken to Abraham.

Deuteronomy 9:11 And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights,
        that the LORD gave me the two tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant.

Notice that God rejects these people as His: His righteeousness would have left them in Egypt to self destruct. He rescued them by pure grace, they agreed to obey that which they refused to hear and before the ink was dry on the two stones containing ALL of the Covenant they REVERTED to their native idolatry of Egyt.

Deuteronomy 9:12 And the LORD said unto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from hence;
         for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt
        have corrupted themselves;
        they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them;
        they have made them a molten image.

Nationally they would be a perverse and crooked race and most would be baptized with WIND (not a spirit) and FIRE as God blew out His Word through the Apostles rejected by most of the Jews "still alive in Jerusalem."

5 - Their spot "This is an allusion to the marks which idolaters inscribe on their foreheads or their arms with paint or other substances, in various colors and forms  straight, oval, or circular, according to the favorite idol of their worship." (JFB Commentary Mark As evidence of being a beast worshipper. See note a. Also in comparison to the seal of God; note d. Even the stork in the heavens knows her times; and the turtledove, swallow, and crane keep the time of their coming; but my people know not the ordinance of the LORD."How can you say, 'We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us'? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made it into a lie. Jer. 8:10 Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

Cyril of Alexandria, Commentary on John,

That the Pharisees puffed up unto strange boasting,
        were wont to pretend that the Divine Word was with them and in them,
        and therefore foolishly affirmed that they had advanced to marvellous wisdom,
        the Spirit Itself will testify,
        since Christ says by the Prophet Jeremiah unto them,
                How do ye say, WE are wise, and the word of the Lord is with us?
                For nought to the scribes became their lying pen;
                the wise
men were ashamed, were dismayed and taken;
                what wisdom
is in them? because they rejected the word of the Lord.

For how are they not taken rejecting the Living and Hypostatic Word of God, receiving not the faith to Him-ward,
        but dishonouring the Impress of God the Father, and refusing to behold His most true Form (so to say)
        through His God-befitting Authority and Power?
When God made Jesus Christ both Lord and Christ He is THE ROCK for us as He was in the wilderness in the Church or Ekklesia of Christ..  He came to save the Jews "in prison" and slavery by the Civil-Military-Clergy race.
Acts 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort,
        saying, Save yourselves from this untoward [CROOKED] generation.
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:
        and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
THE CHURCH OF CHRIST IS BUILT ON THE FOUNDATION OF THE PROPHETS SPEAKING BY CHRIST AND THE APOSTLES.

They met in the outer court which was available to everyone but NEVER in the temple which would have gotten them executed by the Levites ordained as Soothsayers with instruments to warn the godly people.
Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
The Church of Christ had the same singular function as the Church of Christ, qahal or synagogue in the wilderness they were to REST (from rituals) Read and Rehearse or discuss the Word of God (only). They met in the outer courts as a way to preach the gospel which was antithetical to the laded burden of Jewish rituals.
Acts 3:13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers,
        hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him
        in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
Acts 3:14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
Acts 3:15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
Acts 3:16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
Acts 3:17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.
Acts 3:18 But those things, which God before had shewed
        by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
THERE IS NOTHING IN THE LAW OF MOSES ADDED BECAUSE OF TRANSGRESSION WHICH TRANSLATED INTO THE SYNAGOGUE OR THE CHURCH OF CHRIST.
After God made the Israelites (Jews) blind and deaf at Mount Sinai, Moses promised a time when they  WOULD hear: those who heard were not of Jewish nationalistic roots but the SEEDof Abraham.
Act 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me;
        him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
Acts 3:23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul,
        which will not hear that prophet,
        shall be destroyed from among the people.
Acts 3:24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after,
        as
many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
Acts 3:25 Ye are the children of the prophets,
        and of the covenant which God made with our fathers,
        saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall
        all the kindreds [Gentiles] of the earth be blessed.
You can see that God always speaks of the Jewsish nation "turned over to worship the starry host at Jerusalem" as that "crooked race." On the other hand, God always sent Prophets speaking by the Spirit OF Christ to identify that race as robbers and parasites. The Godly Jews kept the Law of Moses to keep from getting murdered: otherwise the godly people attended synagogue with all nations as a school of the Word of God only.
The people VIOLATED the terms of a Covenant of Grace whereby God would gradually dimenish the people of Canaan without warfare.

Deuteronomy 9:13 Furthermore the LORD spake unto me, saying, I
        have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:
Deuteronomy 9:14 Let me alone, that I may destroy them,
        and blot out their name from under heaven:
        and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.

GOD NEVER NEEDS PEOPLE: HIS PURPOSES DEPEND ONLY ON HIS MIGHT AND GLORY.

Deuteronomy 9:15 So I turned and came down from the mount,
        and the mount burned with fire:
        and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.
Deuteronomy 9:16 And I looked, and, behold, ye had sinned against the LORD your God,
        and had made you a molten calf:
        ye had turned aside quickly out of the way which the LORD had commanded you.

THE COVENANT WITH PROMISE WHICH THEY REFUSED TO HEAR FROM GOD HAS BEEN QUICKLY VIOLATED.

Deuteronomy 9:17 And I took the two tables, and cast them out of my two hands,
        and brake them before your eyes.
Deuteronomy 9:18 And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights:
        I did neither eat bread, nor drink water,
        because of all your sins which ye sinned,
        in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
Deuteronomy 9:19 For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure,
        wherewith the LORD was wroth against you to destroy you.
        But the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also.
Deuteronomy 9:20 And the LORD was very angry with Aaron to have destroyed him:
        and I prayed for Aaron also the same time.

[Note: the Aaronic priestood and the Levites were not assigned to the spiritual development of the people in the synagogues but to "the worship of the starry host" to which God abandoned them because that was their "prayer. Christ had not commanded sacrifices and offerings when they were saved by Grace: even the Sabbath was given for REST to protect the poor from the future Civil-Military-Clergy system. Rest meant REST and never meant "a day of worship" other than the New Testament practice of Reading and Discussing the Word of God.]

Deuteronomy 9:21 And I took your sin, the calf which ye had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it,
        and ground it very small, even until it was as small as dust:
        and I cast the dust thereof into the brook that descended out of the mount.

The Calf representing the real Apis bull calf in Egypt was the "object" of their God-thinking: rising up to play in really ugly musical idolatry was the method of their worship."

Deuteronomy 9:22 And at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibroth-hattaavah, ye provoked the LORD to wrath.
Deuteronomy 9:23 Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying,
        Go up and possess the land which I have given you;
        then ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God,
        and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice.
Deuteronomy 9:24 Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.
Deuteronomy 9:25 Thus I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights,
        as I fell down at the first; because the LORD had said he would destroy you.
Deuteronomy 9:26 I prayed therefore unto the LORD,
        and said, O Lord GOD, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance,
        which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness,
        which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
Deuteronomy 9:27 Remember thy servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; [Gentiles]
        look not unto the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin:
Deuteronomy 9:28 Lest the land whence thou broughtest us out say,
        Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them,
        and because he hated them, he hath brought them out to slay them in the wilderness.
Deuteronomy 9:29 Yet they are thy people and thine inheritance,
        which thou broughtest out by thy mighty power and by thy stretched out arm.

Ex. 32:25 And when Moses saw that the people were naked;
        (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)

Ex. 32:26 Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said,
        Who is on the LORD’S side? let him come unto me.
        And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

Ex. 32:27 And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel,
        Put every man his sword by his side,
        and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp,
        and slay every man his brother,
        and every man his companion,
        and every man his neighbour.

GOD ONLY MOMENTARILY SAVED THE ISRAELITE (JEWISH) PEOPLE BEFORE DRIVING THEM OUT OF THE LAND.

Ex. 32:28 And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses:
        and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.

Ex. 32:29 For Moses had said,
        Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD,
        even every man upon his son,
        and upon his brother;
        that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.

Ex. 32:30 ¶ And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people,
        Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD;
        peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.

Ex. 32:31 And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said,
        Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

Ex. 32:32 Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.

Ex. 32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses,
        Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Ex. 32:34 Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee:
        behold, mine Angel [CHRIST] shall go before thee:
        nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.

Ex. 32:35 And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

THE FINAL CAPTIVITY  AND DESTRUCTION OF THE JEWISH NATION

Only TURNING TO CHRIST opens the eyes (2 Cor. 3)

According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day,

wherewith they have forsaken me,
and served other gods,

so do they also unto thee.
1 Samuel 8:8

Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them. 1 Samuel 8:9

"Like most of the aspects of Israel's religion, the institution of the priesthood suffered injury as a Canaanitish Levites did not retain possession of most of their allocated cities and were forced to wander about the country (Judg. 17:7; 19:1; I Sam. 1:1). More serious was the theological impact of Canaanitish religious practices Even faithful Gideon came to feel no qualms about assuming to himself certain of the priestly functions; for he made an ephod, the priests' surplice that was decked with gold (Exod. 28:6-15), and employed it for a worship which was contrary to the law (Judg. 8:24-27). Eli's sons became so corrupt (I Sam. 2:12) that the line of Eli, which seems to have been that of Aaron's fourth son Ithamar, was cursed of God (vv. 30-36). Saul then slaughtered both the priests (I Sam. 22:18) and the temple slaves (II Sam. 21:1)." (Theology Of the OT, p. 375).
All that follows in the Monarchy is God "turning them over to worship the starry hosts" Acts 7 etc.
Hos 8:1 Set the trumpet to thy mouth.
        He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD,
        because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
Hos 8:2 Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.
Hos 8:3 Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.
Hos 8:4 They have set up kings, but not by me:
        they have made princes, and I knew it not:
        of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
Hos 8:5 Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them:
        how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?
Hos 8:6 For from Israel was it also:  the workman made it;
        therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
Hos 8:14 For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples;
        and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities:
        but I will send a fire upon his cities,
        and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
And Samuel told all the words of the Lord unto the people that asked of him a king. 1 Samuel 8:10
And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you:
         He will
take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots,
        and to be
his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots. 1 Samuel 8:11
And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties;
        and will set them to ear
his ground, and to reap his harvest,
        and to make
his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots. 1 Samuel 8:12
And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries,
        and to be cooks, and to be bakers. 1 Samuel 8:13

And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards,
        even the best of them, and give them to
his servants. 1 Samuel 8:14
And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards,
        and give to his officers, and to his servants. 1 Samuel 8:15

And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants,
        and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work. 1 Samuel 8:16

He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants. 1 Samuel 8:17

Human kings take, take, take, take, take and GIVE to his friends. And YOU are not going to like it.

And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you;

        and the Lord will not hear you in that day. 1 Samuel 8:18
Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said,

Nay; but we will have a king over us; 1 Samuel 8:19
First: That we also may be like all the nations;
        and
that our king may judge us,
Second: and go out before us,
        and
fight our battles. 1 Samuel 8:20

Coffman Notes: WICKED ISRAEL'S PREFERENCE FOR PAGAN SHRINES

"Despite the fact of God's having set up his holy altar at a specific location and having given the most solemn prohibitions against worshipping or sacrificing elsewhere, and in spite of God's having forbidden the Jews to honor or retain any of the pagan shrines and altars in Palestine, they nevertheless spared all the pagan shrines, and installed others.

"Note the fourfold repetition of the word "there" in Ezek. 20:28. It was especially an affront to the God of Israel that his people would patronize and even prefer to worship at such high places, rather than at God's true altar. Of course, it was the licentious worship of the pagans which they at once adopted and included along with God's worship that was the great attraction for Israel. Blasphemy against God? Of course; it was blasphemy of the worst kind, because it connected the holy name of the Lord Jehovah with all the immorality and debaucheries of paganism.

MOST HISTORIC CHURCH SCHOLARS AND DENOMINATIONAL FOUNDERS UNDERSTOOD THAT THE MONARCHY WAS THE EVIL TYPE WHERE GOD'S PEOPLE ARE IN BONDAGE TO THE CIVIL-MILITARY-CLERGY.

THE CHRISTIAN ANTITHESIS IS "all ye that labor (rituals) and are heaven laden come to me and I will give you REST."

REST, LIKE SABBATH NEVER MEANT A DAY OF WORSHIP BUT REST FROM THE EVIL SEVENTH DAY RITUALS INHERITED BROM BABYLON.

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, a
        nd be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you,
        that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
Galatians 5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised,
        that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you,
        whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
Galatians 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing,
        nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Galatians 5:7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?

Neither Christians nor Messianic Jews should allow themselves to come under the bondage of the "doctors of the Law who take away the key to knowledge" says Jesus.

Churches of Christ should not pretend that the instruments of sacrifices and burnt offerings which Christ did not command are "the pattern for their church." This normally results in a vast clergy complex which eats up the living of the widows.

Messianic Jews should not abandone the name of CHRIST which adheres to all of the New Testament churches in one way or another.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you
       in the name of Jesus Christ
       for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:
        and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people.
    And the Lord [Jesus Christ] added to THE CHURCH daily such as should be saved.

If the LORD is CHRIST then THE CHURCH is THE CHURCH OF CHRIST -- singular.

  For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Acts 20:27
    Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers,

        to feed THE CHURCH of GOD,
        which he hath purchased with his own blood. Acts 20:28

GOD in CHRIST shed His blood. Therefore, The Church of God is The Church of Christ--singular.  If you use ANY OTHER NAME are you maybe rejecting the BLOOD?  Rejecting baptism is in fact rejecting the Grace of the Blood.

And he is the head of the body
        THE CHURCH who is the beginning,
        the firstborn from the dead;
        that in all things he might have the PREEMINENCE . Col.1:18

The NAME of a religious confession is their PUBLIC CONFESSION

    Luke 12:8 Also I say unto you,
            Whosoever shall confess me before men,
            him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
      Luke 12:9 But he that denieth me before men
            shall be denied before the angels of God.

John 12:42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him;
        but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him,
        lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
