Rick Marrs Pepperdine 2017 Song of Solomon

The Song of Solomon, Babylonian Hieros Gamos, Sacred Sex. Charity makes us want to say that the trampling hordes of COHORTS are just Ignorant of the Word or Regulative Principle which they have abandoned. However, in Ephesians 4 Paul warned about the cunning craftsmen or Sophists meaning rhetoricians, singers or instrument players.   Jesus now as Holy Spirit had Paul warn that THEY ARE LYING IN WAIT TO DECEIVE.

Courtship of Inanna and Dumuzi

Sara Barton: We desperately need public, communal language about sex, and we have an oft-overlooked resource in the Bible.
The Song of Solomon is the Hieros Gamos inherited when the PLAY at Mount Sinai was the Hieros Gamos for which God turned everyone including Solomon to Babylonianism at Jerusalem called Sodom and the Mother of Harlots.

Laura Buffington: the church would be wise to reclaim the metaphor of sex AS salvation.

In Search of God the Mother-The cult of Anatolian Cybel. This sexual image was most frequently expressed, not by the Magna Mater herself, but by the Galli. Although derisively described as semimares [half men]... The undisguised contempt of the Romans for the Galli comes across loud and clear.  They castrated themselves but emphasized theeir artificial feminity through dress and manners, so their high-pitched voices, and their long hair.  they portray the Galli as purvyers of offbeat sexual activities, clearly exciting to respectable people.

"A man that is heretical after the first and second admonition refuse." (Tit. iii: 10) If they will,
let them not only be circumcised, but mutilated.
Where then are those who dare to mutilate themselves; seeing that they draw down the Apostolic curse, and accuse the workmanship of God, and take part with the Manichees? ... But if you will not allow this,
why do you not mutilate the tongue for blasphemy, the hands for rapine, the feet for their evil courses, in short, the whole body?
For the ear enchanted by the sound of a flute hath often enervated the soul;

There is no reason or need to know the MARKS left by "Doctors of the law who take away the key to knowledge." Theologians (the study of Apollon leader of the musicians) frankly admit that they are POSTMODERN which attempts to trick people into believing that a SPIRIT commmanded them to refute or dangerously MISUSE Holy Scripture.

Facts may not matter. However, when the "Worship Mediators" replace the WORD or Regulative Principle up to 2/3 of a congregation are troubled by the self-exhibition persona. Nothing is more ignorant or abominable that a "worship minister" replacing individual worship IN THE SPIRIT (a place) as they give attention (worship) to the WORD of TRUTH.  The COHORT as new teams of warriors against the "Word-Centered" speaks of paired warriors with "a love closer than a brother."

The Song of Solomon to create "shock and awe" among godly students: it is certainly illiterate and beyond redemption.  Rather than "workshops" using only apostates able to "buy and sell",  a godly institution would center on making everyone Biblically and Mythologically literate.

Again, it reality does not count in ritualistic worship replaces the School and REST of Jesus Christ. The Jews polluted (music and sex) the Sabbath which God had given the laity for REST and being quarantined from all of the "worship centers" using ugly acts to fleece the poor.

AGAIN, WE CAN ONLY POINT TO THE TWISTED USE OF THE SONG OF SOLOMON AND THE PERSONA WHICH DRIVES OUT AND OFFENDS THE GODLY.

Plato The Symposium: the drunk-perverted CROOKED race: II. Aristodemus's Prologue: 174 A-178 A. Aristodemus meeting Socrates smartly attired expresses his surprise at so unusual a circumstance. Socrates explains that being invited to dine with Agathon he feels bound to go “in finery to the fine”; and he presses Aristodemus, although uninvited, to accompany him. On the road Socrates, immersed in thought, lags behind, and Aristodemus arrives at Agathon's alone. Not till they are half-way through the meal does Socrates appear; and Agathon rallies him on his devotion to sophia. The proposal of Pausanias to restrict the potations, in view of yesterday's banquet, and that of Eryximachus to dismiss the flute-girl and amuse themselves by logoi, are unanimously agreed to. Then Eryximachus propounds an idea of Phaedrus, that Eros is the best possible theme for encomia, and suggests that each of the party in turn, commencing with Phaedrus, should now deliver an encomium on Eros. This suggestion is applauded by Socrates. Of the encomia the most noteworthy were the following:—

c The general characteristics (1) of Eros Pandemos are that it is directed to women as well as boys, to the body rather than the soul, to unscrupulous satisfaction of lust; (2) whereas Eros Uranios shuns females and seeks only such males as are noble and nearly mature both in mind and body. It is the followers of Eros Pandemos who have brought paederastia into disrepute.

d The varying nomoi concerning Eros may be classified thus:—

(1) In all Greek states except Athens the nomos is simple, either (a) approving paederastia, as in Elis and Boeotia; or (b) condemning it, as in Ionia and states subject to barbarian rule, where it is held to foster a dangerous spirit of independence (e.g. Harmodius and Aristogiton)

The Athenian nomos [Legalism] provides a test for distinguishing between good and bad forms of Eros: the test of time shows whether or not the right motive (desire for aretē) actuates both the lover and his object. This motive alone justifies all erotic pursuits and surrenders, even mutual deception: hence we conclude that kalon aretēs heneka kharizesthai.

WORSHIP ANDROGYNY THE PAGAN SEXUAL IDEAL PETER JONES

Without not grasping Gender, we can only speak of THE MEANING of the Song of Solomon and the persona of those now masters of the pulpit standing in their "holy places" claiming that a spirit is telling them that THEY are the first to discover truth.

Like the ancient pagan Sodomites pounding on the door of Lot’s house millennia ago, the modern gay movement is gathering at the doors of our churches, our academies, and our once traditionally “Christian” culture, demanding entrance and full recognition. Notable scholar David A. J. Clines, professor of OT at Sheffield University, for one, appears ready to lay down the welcome mat. He wrote in 1998: “. . . [though] queer theory has yet to show its face at the SBL [Society of Biblical Literature],

3 gayness is challenging . . . all that we hold dear. When we begin to redraw the alterity map, the boundaries between same and different . . . we find ourselves having to think through everything, and not just sexuality, from scratch.”

4 Clines, who not long ago was known for his conservative theological position, illustrates how far acceptance of the gay movement has come in recent years, even among those from strongly Biblical backgrounds. This movement has come a long way fast. It will not go away soon, I believe, because it is so intimately tied to deep changes in modern society, in particular those associated with philosophical postmodernism.

The clearest textual testimony in ancient times comes from nineteenthcentury BC Mesopotamia. Androgynous priests were associated with the worship of the goddess Istar from the Sumerian age (1800 BC ). 25 Their condition was due to their “devotion to Istar who herself had ‘transformed their masculinity into femininity.’ ” 26 They functioned as occult shamans, who released the sick from the power of the demons just as, according to the cult myth, they had saved Istar from the devil’s lair. “. . . as human beings,” says a contemporary scholar, “. . . they seem to have engendered demonic abhorrence in others; . . . the fearful respect they provoked is to be sought in their otherness, their position between myth and reality, and their divinedemonic ability to transgress boundaries.” 27

The pagan religions of ancient Canaan appear to maintain a similar view of spirituality and sexuality. The goddess Anat preserves many of the characteristics of Istar. 28 Like the Syrian goddess Cybele, Anat is headstrong and submits to no one. 29

She is both young and nubile but also a bearded soldier, so that many commentators conclude that she is either androgynous or bi-sexual. 30 She thus symbolizes the mystical union, which was celebrated by her worshipers as a ritual enactment of the hieros gamos [sacred spiritual marriage]. 31 The OT gives some indication that Canaanite religion included homosexual androgyny, against which Israel was constantly put on guard. 32 Livy describes initiation into the Bacchanalia of 186 BC as involving homosexual rape, simillimi feminis mares. Walter Burkhart, professor of Classical

Aeschylus Suppliant Maidens reads:

After all Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees (composers and performers), hypocrites. In Ezekiel 33 the Spirit OF (a preposition) Christ marked performance preachers for HIRE, singers and instrument players. These were marks of preachers and audience refusing to hear or obey the WORD of God.

Jude warned about the Instrumental-Trinitarian-Perverted Idolatry at Mount Sinai and said that THEY ARE FORDAINED.

The PLAY (sorry you missed Acts 7) was singing, playing instruments and playing with one another. This was the Hieros Gamos defined by The Song of Solomon. This play is enacted when male and female "worship team" (an abomination) PERFORM together in their "holy places" for everyone to "worship" by sucking up all of the attention.

The postmodern theologians are ANTICHRIST because they deny the Logos or Regulative Principle. God outlaws any personal experiences or personal opinions everyone flocks to the Trampling of the Gentile gatherings of those with no God-given Role and no Christ-Giving Dole. So they have to fleece the widows and then boast about taking over their church property. God as the breath or Spirit OF Christ identified them:

Jer 44:15 Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,

Jer 44:16 As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.

Jer 44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem:
for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

Jer 44:18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

These priestess were part of the royal bloodline. You could not be a girl off the street and be a priestess. You had to be of pure royal blood. Pharaohs and kings were considered gods. This is why a lot of the myths have the nymphs having sex with gods.
What was the job of a priestess? In some ancient texts the temple priestess were called temple virgins or temple prostitutes. These priestess had sacred sexual duties to perform. Duties that ensured the fertility of the land and people in Egypt since the very beginning. The room in the temple that all this sacred sex happened was called the Nymphon. It was a bedroom for the betrothed.

John writes that an angel coming down from heaven, indicating it’s God’s message from heaven, and “with a mighty voice” he says “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons” (Rev 18:2) because “all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living” (Rev 18:3). That is why God tells His people “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues” (Rev 18:4) which is what Jeremiah the Prophet (Jer 51:45) and the Apostle Peter commands the church to do (1st Pet 1:16) . John tells us that not only has Babylon fallen but it’s fallen twice (Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great!) which may show just how ancient Babylon and modern society are the same. Both embrace false religions and sexual immorality.

Revelation 17, Revelation 18. Mystery, Babylon the Great was the worship of the starry host by Israel when they fell into musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.  Jerusalem therefore became the great Babylon.

Jesus would say that they are OF the World, Kosmos, Ecumenical or the Kingdom of the Devil His sons are marked by "they speak on their own."  This is the authority or Authentia outlawed for everyone.

THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST TOLD YOU SO.

Ezekiel 13 Women Prophesiers "make souls fly."
Thus the essential relationship between music and prophecy can be clearly seen. This relationship also explains why the expression for "making music" and "prophesying" was often identical in the ancient tongues. origen contra celsum 8.67.

The Hebrew word Naba signifies not only "to prophesy" but also "to make music." (Quasten, Johannes, Music and Worship in Pagan and Christian Antiquity, p. 39)

"Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: 'Hear the word of the LORD! Ezekiel 13:2

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit ("Old Wive's Tales or self-composed songs or incantations with instruments) and have seen nothing! Ezek 13:3

(This was speaking out of their own spirit into the air 1 Corinthians 14:2, 9. Their "god" was Juno)

My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of the house of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD. Ezekiel 13:9

Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them, Eze 13:17

And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Woe to the women that sew pillows (seductive suggestion) to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you? Ezekiel13:18

And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies? Eze 13:19

Pollute is from the Hebrew word:

Chalal (h2490) khaw-lal' to wound, to dissolve; figurative to profane (a person, place or thing), to break (one's word), to begin (as if by an "opening wedge"); denom. (from 2485) to play the flute): defile, eat as common things, gather the grape thereof, take inheritance, pipe, player on instruments, pollute, (cast as) profane (self), prostitute

Yes, I know that pollute means different things, but isn't it interesting that God always associates things like pollute, flute and prostitute?

Paul's outlawing Females Usurping Authority also applies to Males who are to BE holy to prevent wrath or an orgy. Women were to be silent because they used sexual experiences facilitated by music claiming that they arouse the gods and get Lectio-Divina identifying the Thessalian witch.  Both are to be silent for the ONE PIECE PATTERN that "all might be SAFE and come to a knowledge of the truth."

These are the Lord-Lord prophesiers and God does NOT know their name:

Nimrod, the King, took a wife.  The wife Nimrod chose was his mother.  So the “son” became both the husband and son of the mother.  In effect making this marriage a “trinity” union in as much as the “husband” was the same person as the “son” united as “one” with the wife/mother.  So Nimrod married his mother, Semiramis, and she became the Queen of Babylon.  It was Semiramis from which the religion surrounding Nimrod and the planets (astrology) evolved.  Nimrod the mighty and ruthless murderer was killed for his crimes against humanity by the sons of Noah.

Nimrod was the Hunter AGAINST God. He, like Osiris, was cut into pieces so that Semiramis "Mary" had to give birth to Tammuz (Ezekiel 13) god:

She then gave birth to a son named Tammuz whom she claimed was the reincarnation of Nimrod.  So through the belief that Tammuz was "Nimrod in the flesh" the queen was able to subdue the people of Babylon.  So Tammuz was “Nimrod in the flesh” and “one” with his father who was “one” with his wife/mother through marriage… the unholy concept of aTrinity is born.

As the Always Antithesis, God caused Mary to Conceive the Second Adam as He breathed (spirit) into the Egg in the Womb. Jesus was the SON OF GOD and not GOD the father.

This human attempt at global governance through the use of “dark knowledge”, astrology, and pagan god worship was an abomination to Jehovah.  The Tower of Babel was a tower built not to “reach up to Jehovah” but rather as a massive structure from which to consult the stars through the use of astrology and communicate with “The Sun” Baal. Jeanene Reese using the "earth as mother" for pattern.
"In this view, the Mesopotamian vision of the marriage between heaven (God) and earth (the salt-water ocean) was inherited by the early Hebrews, who participated in hieros gamos rituals until at least the time of the Babylonian exile. The story of Eve and the Serpent, according to this theory, is an inverted version of earlier mythologies in which the serpent diety was originally the natural consort of the Mother Goddess. In the biblical version, however, both Eve and the serpent are cursed by the sovereign male deity, Yahweh. This reversal of roles is thought to be the result of the patriarchal system of Israel imposing itself on the older mythology of Canaan and Egypt. Campbell points out that the serpent plays a positive role in the old legends of Moses, who carries a powerful rod which has the power to turn itself into a serpent (Ex. 4) and is commanded by God to create and uplift a broze serpent icon which heals the Israelites (Num. 21).

Theophilus.Autolycus.II.html This Eve, on account of her having been in the beginning deceived by the serpent, and become the author of sin, the wicked demon, who also is called Satan, who then spoke to her through the serpent, and who works even to this day in those men that are possessed by him, invokes as Eve.And he is called "demon" and "dragon," on account of his revolting from God. For at first he was an angel. And concerning his history there is a great deal to be said; wherefore I at present omit the relation of it, for I have also given an account of him in another place.
Godly APT elders are silent along with the women to prevent wrath or and ORGY from breaking out.  This is such a demonic danger that after the fall into Instrumental-Trinitarian-Perverted idolatry at Mount Sinai God breathed as the Spirit OF Christ and defined the Church of Christ (the Rock) both inclusively and exclusively: that pattern never changed and was the pattern taught by Thomas Campbell:
Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
The rulers then and not MARK themselves as ignorant and dangerous because their Driven Purpose is to silence the Word, Logos or the Regulative principle which OUTLAWS any religious operative defined as a parasite and LYING IN WAIT TO DECEIVE (Eph 4)
Acts 13:27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their RULERS,
        because they knew him not,
nor yet the voices of the prophets
which are READ every sabbath day,
they have fulfilled them in condemning him
A Church of Christ is built upon or educated by the Prophets and Apostles: Jesus defined Holy Scripture as the Prophets and other instances which prophesied about Him. The PATTERN of the multitude of Apostates is the Jacob-Cursed and God-Abandoned Levites and their abandonment to the Sacred Sex in Jerusalem called Sodom:

Is. 1:10 Hear the word of the LORD, ye RULERS of Sodom;
give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

Rev. 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city,
which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified

The Spirit OF Christ contradicts.

Is. 1:11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD:
        I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts;
and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
Those who are Ignorant of the Prophets as the RESOURCE for songs and sermons to be PREACHED by being READ are likely to collect as many men and women around them as possible.  Those whom John Calvin called Lazy Asses stealing from the Plowing Oxen have no role and no dole. Therefore, Godly women should grasp that deliberately sowing discord to add some sex appeal to what Ezekiel called Workshops of Evil are quite happy to have females blaspheme by soliciting people to continue the FAD of the Son of Solomon. They cannot grasp that they are fulfilling the end time prophecy where the Muses (locusts) led by Apollon is collecting any and all religious craftsman, singer, instrument player and the piping sound of the millstone locates the local prostitute.  John calls them sorcerers: Lectio Divina and the Beast meaning A new style of music and satyric (cappella-Pan) drama.

God Abandoned the Jews to Worship the Starry Host because of Instrumental-Trinitarian-Perverted idolatry at Mount Sinai.
Romans 1 and other evidence proves the rising up to PLAY profaned (a music word) the day God gave for REST from religious-sexual rituals much like the Hieros Gamos of the original Babylon Mother of Harlots in Sumer and the end-time Babylon Mother of Harlots in a church near you. As warned about by Paul in excluding the dogs and concision her ministers were "lusted after fruits" as well defined in Amos Chapter Eight. The speakers, singers and instrument players were called Sorcerers-the title of the original--and says that they will be CAST ALIVE INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.

The Sacred Marriage or Hieros Gamos of Eve who said that she had gotten a man from the Lord.  Eve isn't treated kindly and may explain how Paul knew more than a "doctor of the Law."

Because of the Instrumental-Trinitarian-Perverted (real or virtual) worship at Mount Sinai God sentenced the Jews back to Babylonia where most would die. Moses wrote Genesis to show the destructive work of the Elohim and how God restored the Hebrew People.

Modern scholars such as Joseph Campbell hold that the creation story of the Book of Genesis represents a retelling of the Enuma Elish creation myth. Here, the vision of Aspu and Tiamat's coupling is condensed into the formula:

Tamar and Judah.

Speaking of Tyre and Jerusalem using Lucifer or Venus as the false day star in the garden of Eden:

Is. 14:11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
Is. 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Is. 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Is. 23:15 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot.
        Is. 23:16 Take an [1] harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten;
make sweet [2] melody, sing many [3]songs, that thou mayest be remembered.
Is. 23:17 And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre,
and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication
with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.

Ezek. 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold:

Ezek. 28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire

A biblical instance of a sacred harlot probably associated with the tradition of hieros gamos concerns the patriarch Judah in the Book of Genesis. Judah, whose lineage is about to expire, goes to the town of Timnah for a spring sheep-shearing festival, where he has sexual relations with a veiled sacred harlot near the town gate. The woman is actually his daughter-in-law Tamar, who bears him twin sons that become the forefathers of the Tribe of Judah.

Later, such practices were strongly condemned by the prophets and writers of biblical histories. Deuteronomy 23:17 forbids the practice which Tamar imitated, saying: "No Israelite man or woman is to become a shrine prostitute." The prophet Jeremiah complained: "Have you seen what faithless Israel has done? She has gone up on every high hill and under every spreading tree and has committed adultery there" (Jeremiah 3:6).

The Books of Kings refer to male shrine prostitutes as common in the Kingdom of Judah as early as the days of King Rehoboam (tenth century B.C.E.) and as late as King Josiah (late seventh century B.C.E.): "He (Josiah) also tore down the quarters of the male shrine prostitutes, which were in the temple of the Lord and where women did weaving for Asherah" (2 Kings 23:7).

On the other hand, the ancient tradition of the deity's conjugal relations with the people of the land found its way into the Jewish tradition when the prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah both referred to God as the "husband" of Israel. Speaking of the city of Jerusalem, Isaiah wrote: "As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you" (Isaiah 62:4). In later tradition, the Sabbath would be welcomed by the faithful congregation in the role of a Bride, and the Shekhinah would be seen as a feminine aspect of God that, among other things, plays a wifely role to a tzaddik, or holy man.

Finally, the Song of Solomon, although it has many interpretations, is often cited as an example of the literature of hieros gamos.

Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them, Eze 13:17

In certain ancient Israelite prophetic groups, music was used to achieve the ecstatic state, in which the participants, in their accompanying dancing, were believed to have been seized by the hand of Yahweh, the God of Israel, as in the case of Saul, the 11th-century-bc king of Israel.

Apollon's Worxhip center: The Pythia (priestess) of the Greek oracle at Delphi often went into an ecstatic state during which she uttered sounds revealed to her by the python (the snake, the symbol of resurrection), after drinking water from a certain spring.

Her "words" were then interpreted by a priest to help a suppliant find a way to avoid calamities, especially death. In primitive religions, ecstasy was a technique highly developed by shamans, religious personages with healing and psychic-transformation powers, in their "soul," or "spirit," flights. Why the underemployed leave their station and flock to the workshops:

Jer. 23:26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies?
        yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
Jer. 23:27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.
Jer. 23:28 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream;
and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully.
What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
God's Word as Dabar or Logos is God's Regulative Principle: it outlaws speaking, singing, playing instruments or acting.   Denouncing the Witches or Sorcerers who use music to make the lambs dumb before the slaughter, the Spirit OF Christ said:

Is. 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
Jer. 23:29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Jer. 23:30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
Jer. 23:31 Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.
Jer. 23:32 Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.

And again, Jesus defines Holy Scripture as the prophets and other prophecies concerning Him. He defined the Scribes as hypocrites in in Ezekiel 33 they are preachers for hire, singers or instrument players.  The prophets warn against the Lying Pen of the Scribes especially the record of the temple and sacrificial system which God did not command.

The word "abomination" is also key to understanding the context. In Hebrew, the word "to 'evah," (abomination) is almost invariably linked to idolatry. In the passages from which both verses are taken, God tells Moses to tell the people not to follow the idolatrous practices of the people around them, people who sacrificed their children to Molech, or who masturbated into the fire to offer their semen to Molech, for example. Chapter 20 starts off with the same warning.

"To 'evah" also means "something which is ritually unclean," not something evil in itself, like rape or theft. Eating pork or having sex during menstruation are ritually unclean.
The Spirit OF Christ identified the Devil's Agent as a singing and harp-playing prostitute:

Like the ancient pagan Sodomites pounding on the door of Lot's house millennia ago, the modern gay movement is gathering at the doors of our churches, our academies, and our once traditionally "Christian" culture, demanding entrance and full recognition. Notable scholar David A. J. Clines, professor of OT at Sheffield University, for one, appears ready to lay down the welcome mat. He wrote in 1998: ". . . [though] queer theory has yet to show its face at the SBL [Society of Biblical Literature],3 gayness is challenging... all that we hold dear. When we begin to redraw the alterity map, the boundaries between same and different... we find ourselves having to think through everything, and not just sexuality, from scratch."4 Clines, who not long ago was known for his conservative theological position, illustrates how far acceptance of the gay movement has come in recent years, even among those from strongly Biblical backgrounds.

And his ivory lyre responds to your plaintive accents he gathers the choir of the gods and from their immortal lips pours forth a sacred chant of blessed voices.

The flute is played behind the scene, imitating the song of the nightingale.

Plat. Rep. 2.364d

(ll. 286-292) To you, foolish Perses, I will speak good sense. Badness can be got easily and in shoals: the road to her is smooth, and she lives very near us. But between us and Goodness the gods have placed the sweat of our brows: long and steep is the path that leads to her, and it is rough at the first; but when a man has reached the top, then is she easy to reach, though before that she was hard. Plat. Sym. 182a Plato distinguishes SOPHIA (daughter) with music and pederasty: Logos speaks only of reading or speaking the word.

This word regularly appears with:

"The cinaedi was a group of men--apparently, a large group--that during the early Roman Empire adopted a "lifestyle" characterized by flamboyant and often effeminate dress, make-up, hairdos, and other affectations. Surviving literary sources describe them, almost always in vitriolic terms,

mainly as gender transgressors who foreswore the ordinary conduct expected of males.

Interestingly, the ancient authors are far less concerned with the cinaedi's actual homosexual practices than with the clothing and make-up.

Frier's most immediate interest is in how the external style of the cinaedi was related to the group's self-definition and to the perception of others. Bruce Frier, professor, classical studies and law "Style and Remembrance: The Golden Age of the Roman Cinaedi"

Paul called them DOGS and excluded them.

Marcus Reciting the Book: Tragedy is associated with the stage, lyric with the convivium,

11 Hence, I argue first that the representation of the epic recital is highly dependent upon the representation of other public performances and, second, that epic's social image is attacked and reclaimed via its public performance. In fact, behind the criticisms of the epic recital often lie issues about the performance of gender and social status.

In that regard, epic's position is parallel to that of rhetoric. Beginning with Aristotle's Rhetorica (1404a), critics of rhetorical performance have ascribed to lively delivery the same effect as that of acting. There is a persistent association between theatrics, bad rhetoric and effeminacy.

12 That this pattern of criticism was transferred onto the epic recital is ironic because the setting which brought epic into existence in Greece was public performance. In the hands of the Roman satirists and critics, however, epic's performance became subject to the same kind of scrutiny to which the public performance of rhetoric in first-century Rome was subjected.

Rhetoric was forever at pains to disentangle itself from unwanted associations with female deception and histrionic art, because it was viewed as the art of socially weak women and slaves, and rhetoricians of all ages have assiduously fought against any trace of bodily and vocal practice associated with these groups.

15 12. Enders (1997) 253--78. Such gendering of aesthetic categories prevails not only in antiquity but appears also in Kant's distinction between the passive feminine beautiful and the active masculine sublime and in Rousseau's association of art and the theater with the feminine. I have in mind Kant's "The Beautiful and the Sublime" and "The Fair Sex" and Jean-Jacques Rousseau's "On Theater and Morals," in Kramnick (1995) 339--42, 580--86, 333--36.

Cantare does not lose its more dignified association with the prophesying sacerdos (OLD 7c), as used by Horace in Carmina 3.1.4 (virginibus puerisque canto).

Cantus , 2. With instruments, a playing, music: A. Prophetic or oracular song: “veridicos Parcae coeperunt edere cantus,Cat. 64, 306; cf. Tib. 1, 8, 4.— B. An incantation, charm, magic song, etc.: cantusque artesque magorum.

16 Quintilian contrasts cantare to agere, chanting a speech to delivering it (I.O. 11.3.60). The recitals of epic, as we shall see further, are also evaluated in the light of this performative practice. I suggest that in the same way as the orator strives to distinguish himself from the realm of performance (canticum), so the public reader of epic is also confronted with the borderline between recitare and cantare.

Oratory initially modeled itself on the performance of serious poetry, and gradually tried to distinguish itself from the realm of song. As Habinek notes, "Oratory, perhaps because its performance context so closely resembles the occasions that call for public song, is carefully policed throughout its history to prevent its reverting to the musical incantation from which it--and the terminology for its study--evolved." However, from the examples that I have just used, it is evident, I believe, which art of music I consider appropriate in the training of the orator and to what extent.

Nevertheless, I think that I need to be more explicit in stating that the music which I prescribe is not the modern music which has been emasculated by the lascivious melodies of the effeminate stage and has to no small extent destroyed the amount of manly vigor that we still possessed. I refer rather to the music of old with which people used to sing the praises of brave men and which the brave themselves used to sing.

Inanna and her relation to Dumuzi, the shepherd boy with whom the supreme, all – powerful goddess fell in love. In the drama the goddess descends into the netherworld for reasons that are not altogether clear but are certainly related to her ambition to perfect her rule by extending it even over the realm of the dead. She is defeated in her attempt, and her “elder sister”, Ereshkigal (“The Queen of the Great Below”) makes no exception in her case; she fixes “the look of death” on Inanna. Inanna cannot escape unless a substitute is found. She vows to find one. In her absence, Dumuzi, her love, spends his time with all the paraphernalia of wealth and power, occupying the throne. Although Inanna had no intention of consigning him to the netherworld in her place, she now fixes “the look of death” on him and orders the demons to take him away and torture him. The story ends in a compromise, whereby Dumuzi will be on earth for half the year, and the other half in the realm of death.
