This paper shows the MARKS OF A CHRISTIAN to prove that people who compose songs or sermons and delivers them is a DO person and not a SPEAK person or CHRISTIAN.  There is no Scripture describing God's people in assembly ever preaching, listening, singing, playing an instrument, acting or PAY FOR PLAY.

PROOF ONE: Jesus defining who is NOT A Christian, Disciple or STUDENT-only of the Word.

John 8:26 I have many things to say and to judge of you:
        but he that sent me is true;
and I SPEAK to the world those things which I have HEARD of him.
John 8:27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
John 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them,
When ye have lifted up the Son of man,
then shall ye know that I am he,
        and that I do nothing of myself;
but as my Father hath TAUGHT me,
                I SPEAK these things.

GOD as masculine never taught Jesus to SING any of His Words.

John 8:29 And he that sent me is with me:
        the Father hath not left me alone;
for I DO always those things that PLEASE him.
John 8:30 As he spake these WORDS, many believed on him.
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him,
IF ye continue in my WORD, THEN are ye my disciples indeed

John 8:38  speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye DO that which ye have seen with your father.

This Arion was a lyre-player second to none in that age; he was the first man whom we know to compose and name the dithyramb1 which he afterwards taught at Corinth.

1 The dithyramb was a kind of dance-music particularly associated with the cult of Dionysus.

Paul in Acts 17 proves that any WORKS by the hands of men or women cannot be WORSHIP of God.
A Disciple or Christian continues in the Word, Logos or Regulative Principle. A Christian would say that Transitioning or REpurposing your congregation is ROBBING TEMPLES or Synagogues. Revelation lumps THIEVES, Robbers or SORCERERS (an performance by human hands) and, as in Amos 8, these sounds are the PROOF "that God has been there, gone and will not pass by again"  Fruits have always been lusted after fruits Amos 8

Would YOU lie, cheat, steal the church house of widows and sow discord for this?   Would you follow or allow to teach your youth TO LEAVE OUR MOVEMENT anyone who said that God Commanded an Instrumental Sectarian Institution for the first claim of a spirit's authority in recorded history?

The Abomination of Desolation: first defined as the instrumental-trinitarian worship at Mount Sinai.

3.30.16

The Israelites fell into instrumental-trinitarian idolatry at Mount Sinai and God removed The Book of the Covenant of Grace from the Civil-Military-Clergy.  In the Second Law given because of Transgression they were warned that their sin beyond redemption was conditional:

Deut. 18:9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

Chrysostom's Commentary on Galatians:

Galatians 5:1.-"With freedom did Christ set us free; stand fast therefore.115 ."

Ver. 12. "I would that they which unsettle you would even cut themselves off." And he says well "that unsettle you."A man that is heretical after the first and second admonition refuse." (Tit. iii: 10) If they will,  let them not only be circumcised, but mutilated. Where then are those who dare to mutilate themselves; seeing that they draw down the Apostolic curse, and accuse the workmanship of God, and take part with the Manichees?

Chrysostom understood that the pagans used vocal or instrumental noise to stir up or create anxiety so that they could steal your food money. Christ outlawed this in Isaiah 55.  Christ outlawed BLASPHEMY in the modern context of saying that God commanded instrumental distractions when  He DID NOT.

But if you will not allow this,  why do you not mutilate the tongue for blasphemy, the hands for rapine, the feet for their evil courses, in short, the whole body?

For the ear enchanted by the sound of a flute hath often enervated the soul;
and the perception of a sweet perfume by the nostrils hath bewitched the mind, and made it frantic for pleasure .

Neither Christian Church members not Churches of Christ are represented by institutions or wannabe institutions trying to speak where the Bible repudiates. For instance all of my retired life has witnessed the word SECTARIAN as a "IMAGE" to lie, cheat and steal congregations. Godly Bible Disciples could never do that.  Scripture specificially marks those who were OF OLD and predestined to reject the LOGOS or Regulative Principle:

12.03.15 Instrumental and Trinitarian idolatry at Mount Sinai was a sin beyond redemption because the people ascribed to The Book of The Covenant but rose up in PLAY.  Acts 7, Romans 10 and 1 Corinthians 10 is the EXAMPLE or PATTERN against the worship of Demons. Apis the golden calf was the symbol of the Egyptian and other trinities repudiated by all of Scripture

This is recorded in 2 Chronicles 29: it is the PATTERN a "spirit" commanded Rick Atchley etal to impose "instrumental praise".  Spiritus in Latin defines the personified spirit as that of Apollon or Abbadon. He is the ruler of the locusts to readers is defined as the leader of the Muses or the adulterous musicians. In Revelation 18 they are defined as sorcerers who HAD deceived the whole world.

The Bad News for the "Progressive" Inclusives:

2Pet. 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people,
even as there shall be false teachers among you,
who privily shall bring in damnable heresies,
even denying the Lord that bought them,
and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Paul outlawed self pleasure: Areskos or Placeo including all performing arts Jesus called hypocrites: speakers for hire (hirelings), singers or instrument players. They are the MARK of people who do not intend to speak "that which is written for our learning" and people who do not intend to obey the Word, Logos or Regulative Principle.

WHAT IS A HERETIC OR SECTARIAN? Doctors of the law, says Jesus "take away the key to knowledge" and "music means to make the lambs dumb before the slaughter." It certainly seems to work among the Latest Spawn of Doctors of the Law who lack reading ability and minimal ethics: selling learning at retail is corrupting the Word because God will not let His Word be sold: the same word defines prostitutes and fish mongers.

Who infiltrated and intends to lie, cheat and steal your property and flock? No one can find anything so vile and blasphemous in the historic church commanded not to engage in "vocal or instrumental rejoicing or self-speak" when the church (ekklesia) assembled (synagogued) to Rest (school), read and rehearse the Word of God. That is the ONE PIECE PATTERN because the Lord's Supper is a teaching activity which SHOULD cause men and women to sit down and be silent.

A SECTARIAN in a remote sense is one who has the power to choose what they will do and with whom they will do and what they will do. Christian liberty gives one the power to be a sectarian.

However, in the Greek language and real examples, a heretic is one WHO CHOOSES to take your property by force.

So he spoke, and the minstrel, moved by the god, began, and let his song be heard, [500] taking up the tale where the Argives had embarked on their benched ships and were sailing away, after casting fire on their huts, while those others led by glorious Odysseus were now sitting in the place of assembly of the Trojans, hidden in the horse; for the Trojans had themselves dragged it to the citadel.

All people are in fellowship without Merchandizing and Dogmatizing Institutions. The Campbells define a "society" were everyone can assembly to obey the command to PREACH the Word by READING the Word for comfort and doctrine (the command to Timothy).

Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
That's was the Restoration Movement's goal: Thomas Campbell defined worship IN Spirit (ours) and Truth (the Word, Logos, regulative Principle)

The Christian Churches left the Disciples because of the rise of organization. It doesn't take long for purpose driven men to try to collect everyone under their tent.

7.19.15 Richard Beck further spreading discord: As I've written about before, right now there are two streams in the Churches of Christ,  a sectarian stream  and an ecumenical stream. Now, the most distinctive aspect of CoC church practice, the other big thing we are known for, is acapella worship (voices only, no instruments).

This has been such a defining feature of the CoC that we split with the Disciples of Christ/Christian Church over this issue.

That's the big psychologically abusive claim.  Churches of Christ rejected any denomination unity with the Disciples both before and after the handshake in 1832.  The style sung in the capella or sistine chapel was called organum: one note at a time sung by several voices.  Vocal or instrumental rejoicing or rhetoric was outlawed for the Church of Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness and that never changed until long after the Reformation.  There was no congregational singing with or without instruments or church history until John Calvin.  Those known as Churches of Christ in all periods of history never diminished the assembly as the SCHOOL OF THE WORD--where disciples go with no inference of a "worship assembly" in Richard Beck's sense.

The Disciples gave up counting churches of Christ in 1906 and the Christians split with the disciples in a slow process fom 1927 until delistedin 1971.

And as you know, if a church splits over an issue that issue--because you've spilled blood over it--becomes deeply rooted in the psyche and DNA of a tradition. If you spilled blood over an issue that issue has to become a test a fellowship, a boundary that cannot be crossed. For the Churches of Christ acapella worship became that defining issue, perhaps the most defining issue (because of the split) of our movement.

Richard is a philosopher and historic philosophy was devided between the rational (logos) and the IRRATIONAL defined by SOPHIA.  This is a violent statement and not related to the truth.  Sophia defines a sophists who is a speaker, singer, instrument player or actor who must perform to legalistic standards and sells his/her services. Logos is the Word and is defined as the Regulative Principle.

In 1890 the first convention was called at Chattanooga to organize the state society. The only churches in the state of Tennessee were those who had already adopted the organ in their worship. The Christian Standard pumped up the news and "it is reported that the brethren in Nashville, Tennessee are desirous of entertaining our National Convention next year."

This of course was just two congregations. A survey showed that out of 2500 members in Nashville, less than one hundred wanted the society.
Lipscomb noted that among the Society people "the Bible is as popular as last year's almanac."

"The supporters of the missionary society organized the Tennessee State Missionary Convention on October 6, 1890, with one purpose in mind, as stated by J. H. Garrison. He said at that time: "We will take Tennessee for organized mission work...within five years."

Churches of Christ existed in Tennessee long before either Campbell or Stone preached in the state.

But now, with the rise of the ecumenical impulse within the Churches of Christ, this worship practice has been rapidly changing. Many of the largest and most influential congregations in the Churches of Christ are adding instrumental worship services. My church, the Highland Church of Christ, is now among this group.

Highland has always been a feminists Holy Spirit guided group and rejects Scripture as being "modern" and therefore out of date. They hear the word beyond the sacred pages. At last count after decades of sowing discord there are about 20 congregations which use instruments as an alternative to suck in the music seekers.

The assembly or School-only of Christ is a tiny, little flock a SECT that is called the WAY: it is narrow and a tiny few will find their way down the road (pattern) and into the grace.

The Church or School of Christ is a Narrow SECT.

First, [ecumenical] is biblical. “Ecumenical” is from the Greek word oikoumena, which is used 15 times in the New Testament for “the entire inhabited world.” The most interesting passage that relates to the modern meaning is Matthew 24:14: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

INHABITED: Late Latin oecumenicus ; from Classical Greek oikoumenikos, of or from the whole world ; from oikoumenē (), the inhabited (world) ; from oikein, to dwell, inhabit ; from oikos:

"...this sect crowned the image of Jesus along with those of Pythagoras, Plato and Aristotle. Further, there were impostors of all varieties: magicians, soothsayers, jugglers, deceivers and hypocrites, 'who appeared using mighty words with a host of unintelligible formulae and taking up with scandalous ceremonies in order to rob men of their money." (Int. Std. Bible Ency., Gnosticism, p. 1246).

In cultic action music was used in preparation for prophecy. Julius Firmicus Maternus refers to this fact in his remarks on an African cult.

With the air full of flute music,
the priests would put on women's clothing and
then call on the goddess so that,

This paper is addressed to Denominational Merchandising Religious Organizations a plague in most churches with a large cash flow.  This is not the work of the Christians who are Disciples (students) of Christ in the Prophets and Apostles. All of the "lambs" get their bones "craunched"  and their flesh consumed by Hireling Shepherds. The American Restoration Movement began as an effort to restore the REST from laded burdens and burden laders. A burden is a repeating form of song intending to bewitch and not teach. It is time for individual Disciples of Christ to, in the words of Alexander Campbell "come out of Babylon."

Rich Atchley, the preacher of the Richland Hills Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas, made this completely unscriptural claim:
"Right there at that spot about 1994 the Holy Spirit said to me in the middle of a sermon,
'that's what you and all preachers like you are doing,
who haven't for years believed that the worship of God with instruments was wrong.
But you continue by your silence to let people think it's wrong.
But you allow the people to be disrupted, and you do so under the plea,
'Well, we're just maintaining peace.' But that's not peace; that's cowardice.
I knew then the day would come I'd have to teach this lesson."

1.  OF is a preposition and the Spirit OF Christ is His own mind or spirit.  Spirit always meant "wind" or "hot air" and was used only figuratively of the WIND or breath of God speaking only through Christ in the prophets.  Spirit as hot air is the "baptism of fire" consuming the enemies of the Word.

2.  Preachers LIKE Rick Atchley handled by David Faust includes a couple of dozen out of perhaps 14,000 congregation: then almost all include an ALTERNATIVE "progressive" service in addition to the despised "traditionalists."  One of the earliest not-quite-subverted congregation grew from a boasted of 5500 to 850 members at present. Rick Atchley's KOOLAID FROM GOD drove the numbers from a boasted 5400 to 3500 and that always includes telling the owners to "get over it or get out." (recorded facts.

3.  Rick Atchley is forced to subvert all of the Bible's mention of instruments ALWAYS associated with telling God that you will not listen to Him (Job 21; Ezekiel 33 and many more).  Instruments are always associated with the HOLOCAUST Rick uses as a pattern from 2 Chronicles 29 where hezekiah substituted GOATS in place of INFANTS both before His short reform and after it.

4.  We all understood that from 1984 and the Nashville Restructure intended to include ALL churches of Christ because the one's Rick Atchley "RAN WITH" were certain that their Purpose Driven Discord was obeying the direct command of the Holy Spirit but which was the HOLOCAUST which God never commanded but to which He abandoned BECAUSE of musical idolatry.

5.  The well known AGENDA used DISCORD and appealed to Hitler and Machiavelli as the pattern for what they boasted of as a hostile takeover.

6.  Scripture and recorded history before 1878 understood that there was no command, example or remote inference about God violating the REST He patterned and gave to enslaved mankind about group singing with or without instruments.  Churches of Christ under that name (Christ the Rock in the wilderness) understood that the godly Jews were restricted to their isolated towns so that they could not attend the seventh day Babylonian worship practiced by the Civil-Military-Clergy complex. They had been abandoned because of musical and trinitarian PLAY at Mount Sinai.

If God turned Rick's Patterns over to worship the starry host and sent them into captivity and death why do you suppose a few men want to drag people backward: Revelatioon 17-8 defines the end-time pattern
Atrahasis and Human Creation
Nintu made her voice heardAnd spoke to the great gods, On the first, seventh, and fifteenth of the monthI shall make a purification by washing. Then one god should be slaughtered. And the gods can be purified by immersion.
Nintu shall mix the clay
With his flesh and blood.
Then a god and a man
Will be mixed together in clay.
Let us hear the drumbeat forever after,
Let a ghost come into existence from the god's flesh,
Let her proclaim it as her living sign,
And let the ghost exist so as not to forget the slain god.
I have carried out perfectly
The work that you ordered of me.
You have slaughtered a god together with his intelligence.
I have relieved you of your hard work,
I have imposed your load on man.
You have bestowed noise on man,
You have bestowed noise on mankind.
I have undone the fetter and granted freedom.

The true God RELIEVED the burden the "gods" or their agents laded upon man

I post as news arrives so this is not a short story with beginning, middle and ends.  I have lots of other horror stories of how to DISCORD your congregation so that YOUR property becomes MIND: that is the meaning of being a sectarian.  The Jim Hackney claim to be God-Guided to sow discord (as do others) just popped into my mind and needs some word definition for those who believe that one of the god family actually dwells inside of their bodies "guiding them beyond the sacred pages."

The NACC does not speak for most Christian Churches [I get mail] as no Group speaks for Churches of Christ.  The few men who shook hands in 1832 represented only themselves in a "convention."  While everyone has the right to assemble as and where they choose no one has the right to organize and finance an effort to "transistion" peaceable congregations into a denominational organization:

"The supporters of the missionary society organized the Tennessee State Missionary Convention on October 6, 1890, with one purpose in mind, as stated by J. H. Garrison. He said at that time:

"We will TAKE Tennessee for organized mission work...within five years."

Jim Hackney Instrumental Music in Worship Speaks for all of those whose Driven Purpose is to SO DISCORD thinking that GOD is making him do it.  The pulpit and unauthorized title gives human pride unnatural and ungodly influence and warns people NOT to question the work of God or "a" spirit.

Swift Transistion following the pattern of using about a decade to DISSOCIATE people by accusing them of being all of the RACA word.  Rubel Shelly used the Aztec pattern of a 52 week Jubilee where they burn down all of your houses, offer up a human sacrifice to the beat of instruments, rip out his heart, restart the fires in his chest, thrown the residue down the pyramid, run to all of the villages and relight the fires.

Jim Hackney says sowing discord is therapeutic.

Good news: go through changes: god is in the MIDDLE of your transistion; Your transistion is God's opportunity. Most good happens during this DISCORD.

When transistion  happens GOD is doing a work which God COULDN'T DO at any other time.

God is helpless unless He follows the Machiavellian etal driving people into discord or a mental helplesness.

Jim Hackney, not God, made the transistion HAPPEN after a long period of denying that HE was going to destroy a peaceable Church in order to let GOD rebuild on the ashes.  If you say that God is in sowing discord and God does NOT sow discord, the Spirit OF Christ in Jeremiah 23 calls it blasphemy.

Jim Hackney from Rick Atchley, David Faust:
That's when God gets my FULL attention.  have faith in what WE do, our CHURCH
Surround ourselves with change and THEY becomes the SOURCE
From that moment [GOD] had my FULL ATTENTION: God will USE.

When people say that A spirit told them that the Worship of the Starry Host (2 Chronicles 29) was HIS command to Rick Atchley to violate His promise and exercise authority God did not give him as a role or dole, you should understand that OF is a preposition and The Spirit OF Christ is Christ's own spirit or Mind.  The literature explains clearly under that SPIRITUS when it is personified rather than BREATH it applies to Apollo, Abaddon or Apollyon: He is the unleashed king of the Locusts and the Locusts in John's neighborhood were the Muses.

Jim Hackney from Rick Atchley, David Faust:

Jim Hackney says that HIS will is GOD'S WILL. God's will is the LOGOS or governing principle: it is opposite of human opinions or hallucinations, singing, playing instruments, acting, dancing or any of the performing arts:

God's Will is huper   governing
sancĭo , mostly of legal ordinances or other public proceedings, to fix unalterably; Sancire lege (edicto, etc.)

Mind or Spirit is the OPPOSITE of Flesh.

Rom. 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.

IF GOD HAS NOT COMMANDED IT YOU CANNOT CLAIM THAT SOWING DISCORD IS THE WORK OF GOD:
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:16 THEN And I will pray the Father,
and he shall give you another Comforter,  [paraklete]
        that he may abide with you for ever;
John 14:17 Even the Spirit OF truth; whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him:
but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

THE ONE COMFORTER IS STILL RULER OF HIS KINGDOM AND HE HAS THE LAT SAY:

1John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.
And if any man sin, we have an advocate
[paraklete] with the Father,
        Jesus Christ the righteous:
1John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1John 2:4 He that saith, I know him,
and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar,
and the truth is not in him.
1John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his WORD,
in him verily is the love of God perfected:
hereby know we that we are in him.
1John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him
ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Jesus has a tiny SECT THAT IS CALLED THE WAY: the road or pattern upon which disciples WILL walk.

Heresy facilitated by self-pleasure in Romans 1 is "creating mental excitement" and the Greek and Latin word identifies rhetoric, singing, playing instruments, acting or dancing as that which disables the command to "use one mind and one mouth to speak that which is written for our learning.

God Hates the music in the holy places (houses) and He hates sowing of discord. DISCORD means that you transistion OUT those who will not shut up but must get our, and transition IN those of the Instrumental Sect.

ALL of the discorders promise "we will never add instruments on Sunday until Jesus Comes." When Rick Atchley after about a decade of false teachings he IMPOSED instruments.  When asked about his sacred promise: He responds, "That was then but this is now." The hidden agenda has to be careful--they confess--to keep the owners from getting spooked.

Plat. Phaedrus [244e] has entered in and by oracular power has found a way of release for those in need, taking refuge in prayers and the service of the gods, and so, by purifications and sacred rites, he who has this madness is made safe for the present and the after time, and for him who is rightly possessed of madness a release from present

Of course the foundation for "unity" was for churches to also join the "organ party." There was no way to get Churches of Christ to become dues-paying members and the Standard suppliers without first introducing the organ (only, we pledge) and taking control of the property.

Discord has deepened now 100 years later by an organized effort to use false teachers to teach how to "transistion their congregations" into an instrumental Group.  When 35 years and all of the congregations has an agenda to join the Instrumental band that and Scripture gives everyone the right to quote some Scripture.

This writer has had his gift to the "lord" transistioned three times.

Without judging the merits of either group, when Stone boasted of taking over the Reformed Baptists there was not a single doctrine held in common between the Anglican-sourced movement and the reforming Calvinists. Only "clergy" seem to have the time, money and energy to soar beyond the needs of the congregation which pays them by pure grace without any Biblical or early-history authority or practice.

Alexander Campbell denied that there could be any "unity" before 1837.  As Stone made clear such unity would demand using his "name" and would require some kind of inclusive organization. Stone denied that there could be unity based on the "atonement" and requirement for baptism.  While the Stone Disciples were organized and the present NACC has all of the marks of a Denominational Organization, the congregational (and Biblical) roots of what was the the Reformed Baptists from whom many of the early Church of Christ preachers defected, there is no way to achieve UNITY or fellowship which is defined as affirming, conforming, attending and supporting financially with scattered Churches of Christ.  Those always Purpose Driven preachers who are used by the NACC are not in any kind of fellowship with the historic Churches of Christ.

The fact that the NACC and its supporters make most of their gains (small) by accusing Churches of Christ from being a sectarian, legalistic, hypocritic DEFECTION from the Christian Churches.  The NACC in fact defected from the Disciples and did not begin to begin as an organization until 1927.  This came after books and debates failed to "take congregations or "transistion" them.

Back in 1832 a group of people met and concluded with a paper which defined the Biblical and historical demand to "teach that which is written for our learning." This didn't last long

in 1837 Alexander Campbell denied that there was anything beyond friendly fellowship with the Disciples. This fraternal fellowship lasted until it was clear that the goal was to confiscate, as with Daniel Sommer and the Sand Creek congregation that NEW BRICK CHURCH HOUSE.

The assault against non-instrumental Christian Churches and churches of Christ began the moment instruments were added. At the time no credible Disciples  leader agreed with instruments.  As with all defections a usually-decades long effort to DEPROGRAM the youth was required.

In 1906 the Disciples tried to count churches of Christ: the census taker knew that was not honest.

In 1927 the Christian Churches refused to fellowship those whom Churches of Christ had never fellowshipped in any doctrinal sense.

In 1968 the Discples "restructured" and the NACC was finally removed from their census in 1971.

The so-called Stone-Campbell Movement began to collect churches of Christ under the ploy of "unity."

There is no command, example or remote inference of the synagogue or church ever being called out of it's rest to sing in a group with or without instruments. In fact instruments are always connected to telling God "we will not obey your will" and with burning.  No one in recorded history before 1878 ever thought that the psallo word had any musical content: it literally means to "pluck a string or hair with the fingers but NEVER with a plektron or guitar pick." The PSAO words like SOP were used by the Septuagint translators because all of the words have a making war or making a sexual assault as their meaning. All of Tom Burgess (O.E.Payne) are connected to older men plucking the harp to seduce a younger boy: to wit, Alexander the Great shamed by his father but approved by Tom Burgess.

IT MAY BE TO DISPARAGE GOD BY SAYING THAT HE DID NOT KNOW TO USE COMPOUND WORDS WHEN PLAYING + A NAMED INSTRUMENT IS IN HIS MIND.

The Word or LOGOS is the Regulative Principle: There is no command to sing (dicto means recite). The LOGOS INCLUDES:

THAT DOES NOT PREVENT PEOPLE FROM BEING MYSTERIOUSLY ANGERED BY THOSE WHO WOULD NOT PLAY THE HARP WHEN THE SPIRIT SAYS "ODE AND PSALLO IN THE HEART" BUT speak that which is written for our learning. All of the SPEAK words are opposite and restrictive of the ODE words. Make sense if you want to "use one mind and one mouth to teach that which is written for our learning.

Unity meant that everyone had to accept the Instrumental position which had no Biblical, historical or sensical role to play in A School of Christ defined in the wilderness and never changed except the teaching resource.

Richard Beck ACU: Now, the most distinctive aspect of CoC church practice, the other big thing we are known for, is acapella worship (voices only, no instruments). This has been such a defining feature of the CoC that we split with the Disciples of Christ/Christian Church over this issue. And as you know, if a church splits over an issue, that issue–because you’ve spilled blood over it–becomes deeply rooted in the psyche and DNA of a tradition. If you spilled blood over an issue that issue has to become a test a fellowship, a boundary that cannot be crossed. For the Churches of Christ acapella worship became that defining issue, perhaps the most defining issue (because of the split) of our movement

UTTERLY FALSE AND PERHAPS INTENTIONALLY CONTRARY TO HISTORY AND PERHAPS HARBORING AN UNNATURAL HATRED SEEMINGLY CONNECTED TO THE HISTORIC "MUSIC WARS."

This statement is the "power point" used to intimidate anyone from being branded as a murderer or fire bomber or mugger of ladies wearing fur coats. However, people who refuse to begin to do which they have never done by direct command from the Church in the Wilderness onward may be guilty of spilling blood but it has always been those who resisted to death or the threat of "taking an AXE to the ANTI-instrumentalists."

"Lard wrote “the question of instrumental music in the church of Christ involves a great and sacred principle … That principle is the right of men to introduce innovations into the prescribed worship of God. This right we utterly deny” (Lard’s Quarterly, Vol. IV, No. 4).

"However, others rose to defend the instrument. The champion of the instrument was Isaac Erret and the paper Christian Standard. Erret wrote “We may as well state now, that we intend to counsel against the use of instrumental music in our churches. Our object is to persuade brethren who favor such use to hold their preferences in abeyance for the sake of harmony … it is wrong to make this difference a test of fellowship or an occasion of stumbling.” (Christian Standard, May 7, 1870, page 148).

Beck and the other attack agents use what J.W.McGarvey called the GUILT CLAUSE.  Why do they blame the offended? Because they CAN and most theologians will never know the difference.

A rich man does wrong, and he even adds reproaches; a poor man suffers wrong, and he must add apologies Ecclesu 13:3.

J. W. McGarvey on the Organ

Nor does God permit us to drive some of the brethren from the church

to avoid doing what they believe to be sinful.
To do so
is to cause division in a way that God condemns. and if we thus sin,
he demands that
we be marked and avoided as schismatics.

So it matters not how the effort may result, it condemns us in the sight of God. If the brethren submit and debauch their conscience by doing that which they believe to be wrong, we sin against them and against Christ, says Paul. (1 Cor. 8: 12.) If we drive them from the church which they have to leave to avoid condemning themselves in this way,

we are guilty of the sin of causing division,
........... to which we have referred.

The fact is that division occurred between the Disciples of Christ -- Christians. Churches of Christ were never owned by the Christian Churches which sected out of the Disciples beginning in 1927 and ending in 1971.  Long before the 1832 handshake where Stone boasted that "the reformers have come over to us" Alexander Campbell denied that any kind of organized unity could never happen.

H. Garrison. He said at that time:

"We will take Tennessee for organized mission work...within five years."
The fact is that the word acapella now stolen as ACappella means in the STYLE practiced Sistine Chapel (Capel or Caper) which began as a goat-skin cloke on the battlefield.  The STYLE is called organum where harmony (not a Bible concept) meant and was practiced by several castrated opera singers singing the same note at the same time: LEXIS is the opposite of ODE and melody might consist of only one note spoken or cantillated to make speaking that which is written for our learning being able to be taught and learn: disciples go to Bible class never defined as a "worship service." Jesus said that the kingdom does not come with observation meaning religious operations performing legal task intending to control the gods.

Transitioning a very small number of already-friendly preachers has deepening the distrust as it had originally when "unity" meant the loss of a congregation.
Stark-Warlick Debate 1903: One of the most remarkable and historic debates in which Warlick participated was with J. C. Stark, November, 1903, in Henderson, Tennessee, where the church had been taken over by the digressives and the instrument installed. J. C. Clark, of Christian Church fame, was campaigning in West Tennessee, literally bombarding the churches on the instrumental music issue, an innovation threat to all the churches of Christ west of the Tennessee River. Through the solicitation of two young professors who were notable in the effort to stay the tide of digression—A. G. Freed and N. B. Hardeman—Joe Warlick was brought from Texas to Henderson to debate Stark. This debate stopped the music movement and had it not been held then, the history of churches in West Tennessee would have been very different. This debate saved the church from being swept into the Christian church movement.
Stark: In the Stark Warlick Debatethought of worship as the emotion of the soul and that it might "produce singing, shouting, praising, leaping, dancing, hand clapping, or thanksgiving and such should not be suppressed by man made rules."  These commands of men are the creed of their division of God's people.  Like Paul's '"man of sin," they have taken their place in the temple of God and assume to speak as God.  God put it [instrumental music] into his sanctuary by command; and if he has not taken it out, it remains there, unless some one claiming superior authority to God shall as God put it out of the temple of God.

Of course, reading the Old Testament or Acts 7 proves that God did not COMMAND the temple or animal sacrifices. Godly people attended The Church of Christ (the Rock) beginning in the wilderness.  God turned the Civil-Military-Clergy over to worship the starry hosts.

That character Paul calls "the man of sin who opposseth and exalteth himself above all that is called God: The Doom of such is HELL.  I need no authority for using it; for where there is no law, there is no transgression. [p.15]

Robert Ballard and the NACC:  To refuse to PERMIT that which God Himslef has (P93) SAID TO USE. To forbid their use, where God has  SAID TO USE THEM, as in Eph. 5:19 and Col. 3:16 is flagrant sin (Rev 22:18:19)
There is no command, example or remote hint that God every violated His Gift of a day of REST for people to engagage in group singing with or without instruments. Sabbath means REST and the Church in the wilderness silenced "vocal or instrumental rejoicing. The command was to PREACH the Word by READING the word for comfort and doctrine.

The Sabbath was profaned at Mount Sinai and God turned all of the PATTERNS of the civil-military-clergy complex over to worship the starry host. The Levites were always Sabazian or worship of the heavenly bodies represented by real images of their gods.  The godly people were quarantined to their local area where they were permitted to hold synagoge always nothing more than a READING ASSEMBLY.

ALL instances of musical instruments used to replace the Word of God are connected with BURNING.

And yet, those who will not use musical instruments (machines for doing hard work) have been hounded and branded with all of the RACA words as long as the American Restoration Began

With no Biblical, historical or rational purpose for "music" in the school of Christ or in most of church history.  However some are willing to "infiltrate and divert" and "transistion" a portion of congregations to have unity by having instruments. This can result in offending and excluding up to 2/3 of a congregation and confiscating their property. We have watched Three.

We can understand Paul in Ephesians 4 where cunning craftsmen or sophists--speakers, singers, instrument players--are to be removed because Jesus had Paul say THEY ARE LYING IN WAIT TO DECEIVE.  Most of the deceiving has been within the Disciples -- Christian churches to which Churches of Christ were never "unioned."

Music is derived from mystery which means to "make the lambs dumb before the slaughter." It happened to Jesus as prophesied several times.

Acts 8:32 The place of the scripture which he read was this,
        He was led as a sheep to the slaughter;
and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
Acts 8:33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away:
and who shall declare his generation?
for his life is taken from the earth.

Chris Seidman (David Faust's first) and Rick Atchley--both used by the NACC and Standard teaching how to "Transistion peaceable churches into the instrumental fold", have no straight Bible knowledge nor do they need any.  Most Denominational Organizations have moved from SCRIPTURE to THEOLOGY.  A surprise is that theology is a word used in the Greeks almost exclusively of Apollo, Apollon or Abaddon. He is always noted as the Leader of the Muses (locusts for readers).

They do not grasp that God did not command king, kingdom, temple, animal slaughter, priests or the Jacob-cursed and God-abandoned Levites.  In the best of times the blood and flesh lust replaced the sacrifice of infants: this began in Egypt, continued through the wilderness, was famous at Tyre and Jerusalem and Christ used it as a pattern for those He says will be driven into hell to the sound of wind, string and percussion instruments. Music from mystery always meant to "make the lambs dumb before the slaughter."  The clergy followed this musical affliction in mocking Jesus.

"We know that all of the Israelites brought Egyptian gods and practices with them and it is not far-fetched to think that Miriam, who had not yet been exposed to the Covenant, was part of the consciousness-altering rhythms and which was part of a priestly myth-play brought to destructive consummation at Mount Sinai as the golden calf was called back into action.

This "rising up to play" involved eating, drinking, nakedness and musical worship. The goddess, Hathor, is the best candidate for the Mother Goddess of the Mount Sinai idolatry. Here priestessess or prophetesses were highly trained with musical instruments, cultic songs and be able to join in the religious dance.

"Music and drugs were co-consiprators in religious ecstasy. They may have used some product of the sycamore fig which both intoxicated and induced an altered state of consciousness. The ergo of barley was well known.

"On the other hand, other sources, specifically relating to the customs of the East, refer to the dance as a slow, grave, and solemn gesture, generally accompanied with singing and the sound of the timbrel!

"The triumphal hymn of Moses had unquestionably a religious character about it; but the employment of music in religious services, though idolatrous, is more distinctly marked in the festivities which attended the erection of the golden calf." (Smith's Bible Dictionary, Music, p. 589).

"In the New Testament there is nowhere any emphasis laid on the musical form of the hymns; and in particular none on instrumental accompaniment whereas this is significantly paganism." (Delling, Gerhard, Worship in the New Testament, trans. Percy Scott Phil. Westminster press, 1962, p. 86).

Ex. 32:6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

This organized and well-documented hand-holding of theologians with little need for Scripture invites telling the story and Church history of any kind of performance in The Church of Christ (the Rock).  This description begins before the Fall into Musical and Trinitarian Idolatry at Mount Sinai.

WHY WOULD PEOPLE USE THESE EXAMPLES AS A PATTERN WHEN GODLY PEOPLE WERE QUARANTINED TO THEIR LOCAL AND ISOLATED TOWNS?

Exodus 18 the Synagogue or Church of Christ.  The godly Jews always followed this pattern: A synagogue of at least ten families could Rest, Read and Rehearse the Word (only) of God (only) on the Sabbath days.  Sabbath was never God's day of worship but a day OF REST.  The people at Mount Sinai profaned the people's day with feasting, singing, playing instruments and playing with one another.  Romans One.  This story is told many times in the Old Testament.  Romans 9-11 proves that the musical idolatry proves that the Jews were not predestined.  1 Corinthians 10 calls it demon worship.

What became Churches of Christ were never "unioned" with the Disciples of Christ. Christian churches became the NACC in 1927 by secting out of the Disciples of Christ. This "census" issue was finalized in c. 1971 whereas Churches of Christ simply refused to be claimed and counted by the first census.

Leading up to this debates and books launched attacks against those within the Disciples of Christ for not adding instruments.  Fraternal unity pretty much came to an end when the Standard sent

In Exodus 18 Moses is told how to divide the people down to as few as 10 families: a non-mercinary sub-elder was to teach them what they needed to know which was handed down to Moses from God.

Any time men begin to collectivize the masses will follow the most charismatic leader so that whatever the claim of "conventions" or "workshops" the Purpose Driven men as "intellectuals" will gain control over the "common Material."  Rick Atchley one of the agents of the NACC.

Atchley assured his audience that in this postmodern world people don’t get truth propositionally but through experience.

Of course, Rick Atchley is called in to give the EXPERIENCE while the Revelation Thesis rebukes him.  God is LOGOS or the Regulative Principle: He made Jesus to be both Lord and Christ and LOGOS.  The LOGOS (opposite to rhetoric, poetry or music) speaks in PROPOSITIONS and the experiences were acted parables intended to HIDE the LOGOS from The wise or Sophist clergy: sophists are rhetoricians, singers, players or actors.  Rick ACTS and rejects Propositional Truth. The Acting Up is not manly.

Of course, men like J. H. Garrison did not see the Restoration Movement as a way to restore the simplicity of the local church.

H. Garrison. He said at that time:

"We will take Tennessee for organized mission work...within five years."

He saw the need for unquestioning loyalty. He notes that:
"But there are
other ways in which some have been disloyal to this high ideal."
We come now to the consideration of the very latest of these efforts to give visible and tangible expression to the growing unity of the Church, for the double purpose of

utilizing this unity in the service of our common Master, and of
promoting a still closer unification of the religious forces of Christendom.

This began with state branches which would grow up to a "federation movement" of the world. Garrison established a set of rules to be followed in 1905. The first meeting was to occur in 1908 and "unity" was based on the high standard of 2/3 vote of the "in" members.

"In case this plan of federation is approved by two-thirds of the proposed constituent bodies the executive committee of the National Federation of Churches and Christian Workers, which has called this conference, is requested to call the Federal Council to meet at a fitting place in December, 1908.

That is, once the Restoration Movement ideal had taken place the only way to be loyal to the ideal and to Christ was for all churches to come under the same form of religious - political control.

THIS PAPER WILL LIST A FEW OF THE FLOOD OF SCRIPTURE FROM GENESIS TO REVELATION AND RECORDED HISTORY EXPLAINING WHY CHURCHES OF CHRIST HAVE NEVER AND WILL NEVER VIOLATE THE CLEAR COMMANDS, EXAMPLES AND INFERENCES.  THOSE WHO SEE QAHAL, SYNAGOGUE, EKKLESIA OR CHURCH OF CHRIST (THE ROCK) IN THE WILDERNESS AS A SCHOOL OF THE WORD HAVE NO TROUBLE.  IN THE WORDS OF THE CAMPBELLS CHURCH IS "A SCHOOL OF CHRIST."  JESUS CALLS US OUT OF THE WORLD AND WARNS AGAINST UNITING WITH THE WORLD FOR WHICH HE  REFUSED TO PRAY.

He said that God HIDES from the wise or sophists meaning self-speakers, singers, instrument players or actors. He called the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites: in the Ezekiel 33 version Christ names self-speakers, singers, instrument players and the audience. The hypocrites work for money and the audience listen to be entertained with singing and instrument players and maybe the self-speaker

THAT IS A RIGHT GIVEN BY GOD AND GUARANTEED BY THE FIRST AMMENDMENT.  WE UNDERSTAND THAT THE UNITY EXAMPLED AND COMMANDED BY JESUS CHRIST IS BASED ON "SPEAKING" THE SAME WORD GOD THE FATHER GAVE TO HIM BY HIS SPIRIT (BREATH) WITHOUT METRON OR METER.  That is validated by Jesus calling the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites: in the Ezekiel 33 version Christ marked self-speakers for hire, singers and instrument players.  This was His identifying mark of "nothing at all" those who attend for entertainment with no intention of obeying.

If you wish, you may pick those "instrument" passages for burning animals or children which God did not command. That is because of musical idolatry they had already been sentenced to captivity and death "beyond Babylon."

  1. There is no command, example or remote inference that God called the godly people into assembly for group singing with or without instruments.
  2. Scripture from Genesis to Revelation along with contemporaneous writers and historic scholars repudiate the Jewish-pagan use of instrumental machines as sourced ONLY from the Devil to silence the WORD LOGOS is defined as the REGULATIVE PRINCIPLE and is opposite to rhetoric, singing, instruments or dramatic performance.
  3. After the fall into musical idolatry at Mount Sinai and God turned the Levites over to worship the Starry host. Christ (the Rock) ordained the  Holy Convocation or Church in the wilderness for the godly people quarantined FROM the not-commanded sacrificial system. This was a Word-of-God assembly and outlawed "vocal or instrumental rejoicing" which excluded what we call sermonizing.  John Calvin's affirmation.
  4. God provided that Jesus as the LOGOS or REGULATING lord SPOKE the LOGOS MEANING REGULATIVE PRINCIPLE. This was delivered by God's BREATH (spirit) WITHOUT METRON: a word usually associated with musical melody.
In agreement with that, there is no Biblical text written in METER because
according to Philo, "the gods of the pagans exploit this weakness of men. For the sake of a better effect, and with the intention of more easily cheating their devotees, they have set their lies to melodies, rhythms and meters."
In agreement with this, LOGOS is defined as the opposite of personal examples, poetry or music.
  5. The command is to "use one mind and one mouth" using "that which is written for our learning" and the "Comfort of the Scripture."
  6. This was so clear to EVERYONE that singing as an ACT to violate the command to use Scripture when imposed in the year 373 and split the east and west churches.
  7. Further proof: there was no congregational singing in church and no singing of the TEXT until after Calvin permitted some psalms (only) to be radically REwritten to fit a simple melody.  This was to be SUNG (only) and in UNISON (only). Melody as tunefulness belongs to the 19th century.
  8. The first attempt to JUSTIFY the split the Disciples-Christian churches was as late as 1878 when PSALLO was grasped to COMMAND instruments.  Of course, PSALLO has no musical content: if you SMITE a harp string with your FINGERS and never with a PLECTRUM you sound a note but do not make music.  Psallo and SOP have the same root meaning. You cannot psallo a wind or percussion instrument.
  9. Churches of Christ continued John Calvin's plea to RESTORE THE CHURCH OF CHRIST by removing everything not required to teach the word by men who gained their living by another profession. hire paid for panderism and sorcery.  John Calvin would have understood the LOGOS concept to be OPPOSITE of poetry or music and meaning the REGULATIVE PRINCIPLE.
The church should be restored to true order, and its most corrupt condition reformed, according to the strict standard of the gospel
  10. Alexander Campbell denied that their COULD be unity before or following the 1832 handshake.  He knew that the Reformed Baptists held nothing in common with the Stoneites. And Barton may have boasted too soon, he denied that he could be united with the Campbell view.
  11. Therefore, the JUSTIFICATION for a hostile takeover is based on Churches of Christ refusing to be COUNTED as part of the "organ and society party" in 1906. This seems to be the unforgiveable sin.  The published papers deny people the right NOT to use instruments and the right to teach or preach the clear Biblical and historical practice. Robert Ballard: to refuse to PERMIT that which God Himslef has (P93) SAID TO USE is flagrant sin
  12. H. Leo Boles claimed some fraternal feelings up until 1849 but Alexander Campbell denied that there could be any unity which involved some organization before 1832. The handshake in 1832 was ridiculed by Campbell. After 1832 Campbell denied that there was or could be any unity.  When the Disciples-Christians fell into the William Miller return of Jesus in 1844, Campbell began to repudiate ANY literal millennium.

We have ever reason to suspect those who find positive commands for instruments while claiming that there is nothing in the Bible which denies their right to spread the instrumental gospel.

The PATTERN is defined by the Gift of Christ of vocational elders as the Pastor-Teachers over the flock which they have gathered: both presbyter and kerusso are defined as HERALDS who have no authority but to "teach that which has been taught." Athenian Law permitted no poetic, musical or philosopher person to serve as a HERALD: their fatal flaw was that they always changed the crucial message and always charged on the receiving end.

Christ in the wilderness defined the Church of Christ (the Rock) both inclusively and exclusively.  The synagogue quarantined the godly people to their isolated villages so that they could not attend the Cosmic Worship of the stars on the seventh day: both the seventh day for people to serve the clergy and the tithe were defined on clay tablets.

An Ekklesia-Synagogue of Christ does not have A Pastor.
An Ekklesia-Synagogue of Christ does not have LEADERS other than vocational elders and deacons.
A Church of Christ does not have a STAFF which means Professionals to usurp the Body at work.
A Church of Christ does not engage in BUSINESS.
A Church of Christ's children do NOT pay temple taxes: Jesus paid them all
A Church of Christ does not have a source of lawful income to pay people to attend, in the words of Christ in Ezekiel, workshops of evil where it's prophets and prophesiers "seal words one from another" and go home to sell them as truth.  See Ezekiel 13 Women Prophesiers exercising authentia authority--both erotic and murderous.
A Disciple of Christ is commanded NOT to go out where people are claiming to be the kingdom: the kingdom of God is within you.
A Disciple of Christ attends a School of the Word (Christ, Jesus, Paul, Peter and the Campbells).
A kingdom of Christ or his church does NOT come with observation meaning religious services. Religious Observations are defined as Lying Wonders, impure religion or Lading the Burden Jesus died to remove.

THE MASSIVE EFFORT TO "TRANSISTION" PEACEABLE CHURCHES INTO USING INSTRUMENTS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE NEW CLASSIFICATION OF ANTI-INSTRUMENTAL.  Continuing to argue against the intrusion of instruments and speaking where the Bible speaks removes ALL barriers to taking the AXE to the position.

The Sand Creek congregation was probably one of the first transistion attempts: as soon as the new brick church was built the instrumentalists decided that they should gain ownership to impose instruments.  The Illinois Supreme Court decided: no, you cannot transistion other people's property to yourself.  After a couple of decades a church is built and financed by people who believed the "investment" ploy.  If somehow by witchcraft a preacher decides to get help to TRANSISTION it into a preplanned Christian Church in fact, and half of the owners are slowly forced to cast themselves out of their own 'synagogue' they why isn't this grand thief.  Madoff was sentenced to 150 years without any claim that he was working for the LORD.

Churches of Christ have never "joined" any organization: that is why Alexander Campbell never spoke of unity with the sects but unity within an individual congregation.  Most of the division happened within a given congregation.  Lard noted that MOST of the people were opposed--when it came up--to imposing the organ (only back then).  There would be unity within that congregation.  When someone with power IMPOSED the organ the congregation was split.  Lard and others advised them to yield up their property and move on.  The "split" therefore happened one congregation at a time and was always CAUSED by those who imposed instruments.  There was no split in 1906: splits happened in each congretation as soon as an instrument was imposed.  The history is that those who have "gone all the way" into instrumental thinking have always preached unity with the purpose of moving in instruments and moving out the owners.

The Confessed Attack
Lard's Quarterly, Volume  March 1864 These are now its spirit and law, and of course, no offense to it. But despite of even these, for now we care nothing for strife, nothing for the feelings of the brethren, we shall insist on the right both for self and others to introduce each for himself the instrument with which he can best conduct his worship. For the son of Mars, then, we claim the right to introduce the fife and the drum; and for the self the right to introduce, for I could never make music on anything else, but am capital on these, the Jews-harp, the tin-pan, and the barrel-head.
But what shall be done with such churches? Of course nothing. If they see fit to mortify the feelings of their brethren, to forsake the example of the primitive churches, to contemn the authority of Christ by resorting to will worship, to excite dissension, and give rise to general scandal, they must do it.

With no right to speak at all, like J.W.McGarvey, Lard explained that they should leave.  Further fellowship was precluded because getting "close" was bound to get you taken captive.  That danger still exists.
Stark-Warlick Debate: One of the most remarkable and historic debates in which Warlick participated was with J.

Stark: The whole thing comes from a devilish, domineering spirit, which, instead of worshiping God, has taken God's seat in judgment to control the praise others might bring  It is well enough to teach them: but "rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubborness is as iniquity and idolatry." (1 Slam. 15:23) If taken as he is to the "city of gold," he would surely raise hell in heaven and make all "know and feel what it is to be there."
1 Sam 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.

STRATOPHANES (to PHRONESIUM.) What say you? Why have you dared to say that you love another man?
PHRONESIUM I chose to.
STRATOPHANES Say you so, indeed? I'll first make trial of that. Do you, for the sake of such a shabby present, vegetables, and comestibles, and vinegar-water, bestow your love upon an effeminate, frizzle-pated, dark-haunt frequenting, drum-drubbing debauchee, a fellow not worth a nutshell:

6 Is he deranged: "Hariolus." Literally, "a soothsayer," or "diviner." In their prophetic frenzy, these persons often had the appearance of being mad, and were so considered.
7 Drum-drubbing debauchee: "Typanotriba." Literally, "drum," or "tambourine beater." He alludes to the eunuch-priests of Cybele, who used to beat tambourines in her procession-probably in allusion to debauchees, emasculated by riot and dissipation

Clark consistent with the adoption of the Acts of the Shouting Methodists approves of what God condemne:

He says that Acts of Worship are singing, thanksgiving, dancing, shouting, hand clapping, leaping, playing singing etal

Gal 5:12 As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves! CHRYSOSTOM IDENTIFIES those who drive you out of your homeland:

That by lying about the Spirit OF Christ universal condemnation of music a the MARK of telling God to "Shut your face."

For they had compelled them to abandon their own fatherland, their liberty, and their heavenly kindred, and to seek an alien and foreign one; they had cast them out of Jerusalem which is above and free, and compelled them to wander forth as captives and emigrants.....But in truth neither the eye nor any other part of us is to blame, but the depraved will only.

But if you will not allow this, why do you not mutilate the tongue for blasphemy, the hands for rapine, the feet for their evil courses, in short, the whole body?
For the ear enchanted by the sound of a flute hath often enervated the soul; and the perception of a sweet perfume by the nostrils hath bewitched the mind, and made it frantic for pleasure. Yet this would be extreme wickedness and satanic madness. Note 1.
O.E. Payne Foundational Document: But if it is a self-appointed commission, as I believe it is, I have as much right to offer suggestions as any one. If this commission is calling in O. E. Payne's book on the church-music question in order to destroy it, it is working on the right line, and I want to commend them; but if it is calling in these books in order to give them to others and thus continue their circulation, I suggest a change of name for the commission. It should be called "The Commission on Division" instead of "The Commission on Unity." I doubt whether one church in fifty in this country uses the instrument in their worship. If this book is circulated and read and changes no one, it could not assist in bringing about unity, because we already have unity on that question in most of the churches in these parts; but if it changes some one and makes him believe that he ought to have the instrument in worship, cannot this commission see that this would bring about division. The instrument would be forced into the worship by these new converts made by Payne's book, which would drive out those it did not convert, and thus we would have division instead of unity as a result of this work. Surely this commission could not hope to change every one on this question with this book and thus get every one wrong; but if it did not change all, but changed any, it would cause division instead of unity.

433 B.C. Herodotus (I, 155)
This noted traveler  and scholar, known as the father of history," and who was, as well, "the father of geograypy," chronicles the conqueror's decree for keeping the people of vassal states in subjection--a method in vogue to this day:

"and bid them train their sons to play the cithara and to play the  lyre  [psallein] and to keep shop."

That is, forbid them the use of arms or weapons of war, lest they rise in rebellion

 The truth:
Grant, then, forgiveness to the Lydians, and to make sure of their never rebelling against thee, or alarming thee more,
send and forbid them to keep any weapons of war,
         command them
to wear tunics under their cloaks,
and to put buskins upon their legs,

and make them bring up their sons to cithern-playing (Kitharizein),

singing (psallein),
and shop-keeping (Hucksterism). [Corrupting the Word]
So wilt thou soon see them become WOMEN instead of men,
and there will be no more fear of their revolting from thee."

Croesus thought the Lydians would even so be better off than if they were sold for slaves, and therefore gave the above advice to Cyrus, knowing that, unless he brought forward some notable suggestion, he would not be able to persuade him to alter his mind. He was likewise afraid lest, after escaping the danger which now pressed, the Lydians at some future time might revolt from the Persians and so bring themselves to ruin.

"Philodemus considered it paradoxical that music should be regarded as veneration of the gods while musicians were paid for performing this so-called veneration. Again, Philodemus held as self deceptive the view that music mediated religious ecstasy. He saw the entire condition induced by the noise of cymbals and tambourines as a disturbance of the spirit.

He found it significant that, on the whole, only women and effeminate men fell into this folly.

Accordingly, nothing of value could be attributed to music; it was no more than a slave of the sensation of pleasure, which satisfied much in the same way that food and drink did.

"The trained musicians which eventually appear around the time of David and Solomon mark a distinctive change in the history of Jewish music. Before this time much of the music was made by women." (Zondervan Pict., Music p. 313).

After decades of failed "Unity Meetings" with the instrumental agenda, the NACC and a few in Churches of Christ have decided to LOP OFF brances one by one.

Unfortunately, this attempt at a Hostile Takeover is undertaken by people who simply will not read the radical association of instruments with "making the lambs dumb before the slaughter.  The AXE works only on a few Dupes whose agenda was to impose instruments but not revealed until the new Theater for Holy Entertainment is paid for.  John called them SORCERERS (The Babylon Mother) who HAD deceived the whole world and WOULD be cast alive into the lake of fire.

Paul silenced both male and female to guard against wrath or ORGY: the object was the sole role of A Church of Christ "that everyone be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. PURE religious does not include IMpure religion: Gregory Nazianzen speaking for ALL RECORDED HISTORY prior to the Disciples about "authority.'

"Nor are these Thracian orgies, from which the word Worship (threskia) is said to be derived; nor rites and mysteries of Orpheus, whom the Greeks admired so much for his wisdom that they devised for him a lyre which draws all things by its music. [Why ALL music terms speak of enchantment or sorcery]

"Singing served as a means of inducing ecstatic prophecy (speaking in tongues).

Thus the essential relationship between music and prophecy can be clearly seen.
This relationship also explains why the expression for "
making music" and "prophesying" was often identical in the ancient tongues. origen contra celsum 8.67.
The Hebrew word
Naba signifies not only "to prophesy" but also "to make music." (Quasten, Johannes, Music and Worship in Pagan and Christian Antiquity, p. 39)

Nor the tortures of Mithras which it is just that those who can endure to be initiated into such things should suffer; nor the manglings of Osiris, another calamity honoured by the Egyptians; nor the ill-fortunes of Isis and the goats more venerable than the Mendesians, and the stall of Apis, the calf that luxuriated in the folly of the Memphites, nor all those honours with which they outrage the Nile, while themselves proclaiming it in song to be the Giver of fruits and corn, and the measurer of happiness by its cubits.

This is the UNIVERSAL understanding of the musical idolatry at Mount Sinai for which there was no redemption.

as if they were playing in the market-place with boys or really ill-disposed men, [Romans 14]

Jesus assigned to the MARKETPLACE those who Piped hoping to get Jesus to lament and dance which was the Dionysus INITIATION into the Gay brotherhood.

A. Ralph Johnson: A Word of Caution

One difficulty with writing is, to accurately convey feelings. It is also difficult, when a subject affects millions of people in different ways, to speak to the needs of each without leaving others feeling pained that they have been lumped with the "bad guys." In citing arguments made against instrumental, I do not wish to imply that all anti-instrumentalists hold to all of them.

I recognize that most anti-instrumentalists are wise enough to reject many of the really outrageous ones. I do not wish to blame all for the folly of a few. Permit me also to explain that I use the term, "anti-instrumental" rather than "non-instrumental" or "a cappella brethren," because those two terms fail to fully express the essence of our situation.

There are many who by preference, circumstance,

or for other reasons, do not use instrumental music

but do NOT believe that it is sinful.

One MAY by choice sing a-cappella.
        By "anti-instrumental" I mean those

opposed to religious use of instrumental music, as sinful.

I have no problem with those who simply prefer to sing unaccompanied.

The Levites were Instrumental Soothsayers or Sorcerers: they were to execute you if you came near any "holy" thing or into any "holy" place.  They LOST their inheritance because they were VIOLENT people.  Instrumental music in religion is called "Sacred Violence." If you lie about all of the "instrument" passages with a 12 year agenda to DIVERT the monies knowing that you will sow discord even among families, there is no reason to expect that they will not HURT them. Even so, they will NEVER respond to any Biblical evidence

Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites: in the Ezekiel 33 Prophetic Type by the Spirit OF Christ.

Jameson Fawcett Brown notes: Vulgate translates, "They turn thy words into a song of their mouths." heart goeth after covetousness--the grand rival to the love of God; therefore called "idolatry," and therefore associated with impure carnal love, as both alike transfer the heart's affection from the Creator to the creature

And they come to thee, as if people were coming in, and my people sit before thee: and hear thy words, and do them not: for they turn them into a song of their mouth, and their heart goeth after their covetousness. Ezekiel 33:31 Latin

And outside they foolishly amuse themselves with impious playing, and amatory quavering (feminine vibrato), occupied with flute-playing, and dancing, and intoxication, and all kinds of trash. But now to pass from this to the shameless corruption of the stage. The level of violence has increased to say that GOD COMMANDS Instrument and if you do not obey you will be SINNING.  It is clear that the historic church is now in FLAGRANT SIN if they do not let the "infiltrators and diverters" to IMPOSE instruments.

Chorus
Shall I move my white foot in the night-long dance, aroused to a frenzy, [865] throwing my head to the dewy air, like a fawn sporting in the green pleasures of the meadow, when it has escaped a fearful chase beyond the watchers [870] over the well-woven nets, and the hunter hastens his dogs [Catamites] on their course with his call, while she, with great exertion and a storm-swift running, rushes along the plain by the river, rejoicing [875] in the solitude apart from men and in the thickets of the shady-foliaged woods.

What is wisdom? Or what greater honor do the gods give to mortals than to hold one's hand [880] in strength over the head of enemies? What is good is always dear.

This divisive attack will all be based on refusing to read the Biblical text beyond getting sermon outlines for which there is no Biblical role or dole.

As we prepare the future of Bible Lectures and Church Relations at Pepperdine, Mike Cope and I are committed to doing all we can to build a network around and supportive programs for these young preachers. Though they have freed themselves from sectarian constrains, many have chosen to stay with their churches. At least  for now. In the coming years, churches of Christ will need to respond, demonstrably, to the Restoration cry coming from this young generation and in so doing may restore their full role of influence in the unfolding Christian story.

The "sectarian" RACA words means that people who obeyed the commandment to do School of the Word where vocal or instrumental noise is outlawed from the wilderness onward simply REFUSE to be forced to begin something they, Scripture and historic scholarship, had never done.

A sectarian or HERETIC is defined when Paul outlawed SELF-pleasure in Romans 15 to enable the ONE PURPOSE of any assembly to "use one mind and one mouth to speak that which is written."  The Greek Areskos or Latin Placeo EXCLUDES all of the hypocritic arts and crafts EXCLUDED by Christ in Ezekiel 33 as self-speakers, singers and instrument players. In the sacrificial system the HERETIC was the priest who LIFTED UP the lamb to cut its throat: the musician who "made the lambs dumb before the slaughter" were called PARASITES.  Because Scripture and all historic Scholarship identifies the church ideal as APOSTOLIC it is deceptive and discording to claim that those who never in Scripture or recorded history saw music as part of the School of Christ are sectarian because they will not be FORCED to do it in order to be INCLUDED.

Pepperdine University is bonded at the lips with the NACC having the same theme and using some of the same TRANSISTION team.

Rick Atchley USED by both the NACC and PEPPERDINE after perverting ALL of the "instrument" passages from the NACC White Paper and using David Faust as Facilitator:
Rick Atchley Said that they took the youth to retreats where they heard lots of Christian instrumental music (an oxymoron).  He said WE TAUGHT OUR YOUTH TO LEAVE OUR MOVEMENT.  Rick Atchley will be part of the Pepperdine groupies how to mislead young preachers. This is THE definition of Sectarianism or Heresy and the Heretic in sacrificial systems was the "priest who lifted up the lambs to cut their throats."  Paul outlawed that heresy translated as SELF-pleasure which would continue to reproach Jesus or "expose His nakedness." The Latin is placeo which outlaws any thing that can create the lust of the eye, the lust of the ear or the lust of the "touch" created by instrumental vibrations.

Jeff Walling another of the AGENTS used by the NACC   is interviewed about HOW to transistion a peaceable Church of Christ into an instrumental assembly

Jeff Walling is aske
d "what does it take to make this change."  Jeff notes that after 15 years the "leaders" reached this discision to change Syle and Purpose with lots of difficulty "but do YOU think I am going to tell these people" meaning HOW we subverted the church.

It is not within the group of preachers and elders within churches of Christ to EVER, as a boast, INFILTRATE and turn your church into a "Theater for Holy Entertainment."  Why do you suppose there is such a BURDEN to try to force instruments when they speak of unity?

Of course, Jeff Walling lead the band by suggesting that Campus ministers who cannot CHANGE their congregation should LEAVE OUR MOVEMENT in 1995

His pioneer, Rick Atchley did it in only 12 years after promising that he would NOT do it: "But, that was then but this is now."

And YET, Jeff Walling said that He Taught entire old testament in one weekNo doubt he used the White Paper supplied by the NACC which was used in all CHANGES including an agent such as David Faust to hold hands.

See Lynn Anderson: Proofs for instrumental music in worship.

IT IS A PROVABLE FACT THAT THIS MASSIVE DISCORD IS BASED ON LYING ABOUT EACH BIBLE MENTION OF AN INSTRUMENT. That is true even when the Levites under the COMMAND of David made NOISE during the Burnt Offering which God did not command

IT IS A PROVABLE FACT THAT THESE NACC-PROOFS ARE FROM A NATION ABANDONED TO THE COSMIC WORSHIP OF THE STARS AND BEYOND REDEMPTION.

IT IS A PROVABLE FACT THAT EACH MENTION OF AN INSTRUMENT IS OF GOD-ABANDONED PEOPLE ENGAGING IN PAGAN SUPERSTITION.

IT IS A FACT THAT CHRIST SPEAKS ONLY THROUGH THE PROPHETS ALL OF WHICH RADICALLY CONDEMN INSTRUMENTS AS DEFACTO PROOF THAT PEOPLE WILL NOT LISTEN TO HIS WORDS.

Commercial religion began and will end in "Babylon."  God rescued Israel from Egypt by pure Grace and offered them The Book of The Covenant of Grace: this is the only spiritual covenant offered by God in Christ to Abraham.

Beginning: See Nimrod and the Babylonian Musical Worship Team aroused again in Revelation 17 )
Ending:      NACC 2013 Revelation 19-20 conveniently skipping chapters 17-18

Looking backward Moses will record Jacob cursing the Levites as killers and warn people NOT to covenant nor assemble with them.  LEVITE is more than descendants of Levi and that is why as instrumental soothsayers or sorcerers they had NO INHERITANCE in Isreal.  They were "burnt" priests of infant burning in Egypt and in Jerusalem.

                Moloch.Trumpets.Drums.Original.gif

The people refused to hear God and demanded a human mediator. They would be blind and deaf until The Lion of the Tribe of Judah came.  Their refusal to LISTEN let them assume that God was SILENT.  While they were refusing to listen God commanded the REST (sabbath) on the first day of the week: this was the antithesis of the Babylonian "worship" rituals where the laity served the clergy.

While god was PROHIBITING any disturbance on the REST day to be devoted to Rest, Reading and Rehearsing the Word. That is what the never-musical commands to Speak that which is written for our learning and MEDITATING (Mele not MELOS) IN the heart.

These virtual Egyptians rose up in musical idolatry. The Book of the Law was given to legislate for the lawless and the nation was sentenced BEYOND BABYLON which meant no return or no redemption.  Musical idolatry of the triad was WITHOUT redemption because it told God then and now that "We will NOT listen to your word."

THE SIN WITHOUT REDEMPTION AND THE GREAT DIVIDE AT MOUNT SINAI

You have to follow Moses and do a Flash Back to explain the DESTINY of those who had gone beyond redemption back to Babylon because they choose to entertain themselves (the only effect of music called sorcery) which was the natural delusion of those who REFUSED to listen to God.  This was a Prophetic Type to be repeated about now where the Babylon Mother of Harlots (Revelation 17) rises again using the effeminate as speakers, singers and instrument players.  John said that THEY had deceived the whole world therefore the SOUNDS of the wind, string and percussion instruments would MARK their removal as A Church of Christ along with the LAMPS or the "seven spirits of Christ" (Isaiah 11) all forms of divine knowledge.  The next event is that they are or will be cast alive into the Lake of fire because they are SORCERERS.  Another Prophetic Type by the Spirit OF Christ in Isaiah 30 (more below) is that the wind, string and percussion instruments are the SOUNDS of God driving His enemies into "Hell."

Notes on Serpent and Devil Worship
Notes on Serpent and Devil Worship TWO

Remembering that after the musical fall from grace at Mount Sinai Moses their sentence "beyond Babylon" was conditional but God knew that they would never cease worshiping the Serpent.  Josephus claims that the Jacob-cursed and God-abandoned Levites were Brahmin.  They were fire and sun worshipers even in Egypt where their instrumental noise accompanied the burning of infants to Molech.

(3) Chamman ("sun-image") chamman, the King James Version "images," "idols"; the Revised Version (British and American) "sun-images" (Leviticus 26:30; 2 Chronicles 14:5; 34:4,7; Isaiah 17:8; 27:9; Ezekiel 6:4,6):

This worship may originally have come from Babylonia, but the reverence of the sun under the name Baal-hamman had long been common in Palestine before Joshua and the Israelites entered the country. These sun-images were probably obelisks or pillars connected with the worship of some local Baal. The chariot and horses of the sun, mentioned (2 Kings 23:11) as having an honored place at the western entrance of the Jerusalem Temple, represented not a local but a foreign cult. In Babylonian temples, sacrifices were made to the sun-chariot, which seems to have had a special significance in time of war (Pinches, HDB, IV, 629; see also CHARIOTS OF THE SUN).

Nachash "snake, serpent" with nshk "bite" provides a link between two verses in Amos speaking of the impossibility of escape Amos 5:19 and 9:3 - nachash often either carries overtones of the serpent in Eden (Gen 3) or of the mythology of Canaanite cultures (Is 27:1).

Nashak (h5391) naw-shak'; a prim. root; to strike with a sting (as a serpent); fig., to oppress with interest on a loan: - bite, lend upon usury.

"The verb nachash always means to enchant, fascinate, bewitch; or of one having and using occult knowledge. See Gen. 30:27; 44:5, 15. Lev. 19:26. Deut. 18:10. 1Kings 20:33. 2Kings 17:17; 21:6. 2Chron. 33:6. So also is the noun used in Num. 23:23; 24:1."

Chapter XI.-How Great are the Benefits Conferred on Man Through the Advent of

Contemplate a little, if agreeable to you, the divine beneficence.

The first man, when in Paradise, sported free, because he was the child of God but when he succumbed to pleasure (for the serpent allegorically signifies pleasure crawling on its belly, earthly wickedness nourished for fuel to the flames), was as a child seduced by lusts, and grew old in disobedience; and by disobeying his Father, dishonoured God.

Such was the influence of pleasure. Man, that had been free by reason of simplicity, was found fettered to sins. The Lord then wished to release him from his bonds, and clothing Himself with flesh-O divine mystery!-vanquished the serpent, and enslaved the tyrant death; and, most marvellous of all, man that had been deceived by pleasure, and bound fast by corruption, had his hands unloosed, and was set free.

The serpents, however, of the magicians-(that is,) the gods of destruction-withstood the power of Moses in Egypt, but the rod of Moses reduced them all to subjection and slew them.

This universal serpent is, he says, the wise discourse of Eve. [Eve, or ZOE, the Mediatrix, was honored because the serpent taught her feminine knowledge

This, he says, is the mystery of Edem, this the river of Edem; this the mark that was set upon Cain, that any one who findeth him might not kill him. This, he says, is Cain, [Gen. iv. 15] whose sacrifice [Gen. iv. 5. ] the god of this world did not accept.

"The triumphal hymn of Moses had unquestionably a religious character about it; but the employment of music in religious services, though idolatrous, is more distinctly marked in the festivities which attended the erection of the golden calf." (Smith's Bible Dictionary, Music, p. 589).

Here priestesses or prophetesses were highly trained with musical instruments, cultic songs and be able to join in the religious dance.

"Music and drugs were co-consiprators in religious ecstasy. They may have used some product of the sycamore fig which both intoxicated and induced an altered state of consciousness. The ergo of barley was well known. Anton Marks

"Lucifer, the son of the morning," who was the pretended enlightener of the souls of men. The name Lucifer, in Isaiah, is the very word from which Eleleus, one of the names of Bacchus, evidently comes. It comes from "Helel," which signifies "to irradiate" or "to bring light," and is equivalent to the name Tithon. Now we have evidence that Lucifer, the son of Aurora, or the morning, was worshipped in the very same character as Nimrod, when he appeared in his new character as a little child.

As Ninus or Nimrod, was worshipped as the son of his own wife, and that wife Aurora, the goddess of the dawn, we see how exact is the reference to Phaethon, when Isaiah, speaking of the King of Babylon, who was his representative, says, "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning" (Isa 14:12). The marriage of Orion with Aurora; in other words, his setting up as "The kindler of light," or becoming the "author of fire-worship," is said by Homer to have been the cause of his death, he having in consequence perished under the wrath of the gods.

That Phaethon was currently represented as the son of Aurora, the common story, as related by Ovid, sufficiently proves. While Phaethon claimed to be the son of Phoebus, or the sun, he was reproached with being only the son of Merops--i.e., of the mortal husband of his mother Clymene (OVID, Metam.).

"We may understand a thing as spoken generally, even when it requires a certain special interpretation to be given to it. For some things spoken with a special reference contain in them general truth.

When God admonishes the Isrealites of their duty, or sharply reproves them,
        He has surely a reference
to all men;

when He threatens destruction to Egypt and Ethiopia,

He surely pre-condemns every sinning nation, whatever.

If, reasoning from species to genus, every nation that sins against them is an Egypt and Ethiopia; so also, reasoning from genus to species, with reference to the origin of shows, every show is an assembly of the wicked.

Lipscomb University Promotes Jesuit Retreats and using YOUR IMAGINATION to interpret Scripture.
Reclaiming the Imagination:
The Exodus as Paradigmatic Narrative for Preaching

This conference proposes that WE allow the worlds imagined
        in the essential biblical narratives
to dramatically shape our preaching and lives.
We believe that preaching reconstitutes biblical paradigms when it engages Scripture’s vision
by REpresenting what is absent and making present what is inaccessible to the end that followers of God will live into a God-shaped reality.
Notes from God about ungodly imagination.
We identify biblical paradigms [Patterns] through the emphases Israel and the church gave them or by the claims made by the texts themselves.

What Paul calls “of first importance” and Jesus describes as “weightier” suggest a hierarchy of values--that some parts of Scripture have greater claim than others. These pivotal texts which echo through Scripture should craft the Christian experience as well.   See note of first.

With a vision deeply rooted in biblical studies and a homiletic that seeks to live in the world Scripture envisions, this year we ask:
What claims on our lives does the Exodus narrative imagine?

Join us as we move into this world with the desire that our preaching, our lives, and the congregations we serve might better engage the essential realities.

Lipscomb University lists the experts they do not give the denominational background. They defacto agree with the false doctrine of those teachers.

When a group turns to music, drama, visions and imagination it is a frantic effort to restore Mother Goddess Worship.. That is why rhetoric is defined as effeminate along with singing and music.
Gen. 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Gen. 8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
For those still attached to the masculine WORD of God John warns us of the mother of harlots (Revelation 17) who uses the lusted after "fruits" as rhetoricians, singers and instrument players. John calls them sorcerers who HAD deceived the whole world.  The musicians or Muses are the dirty adulteress "musical worship team" working for Apollo, Abaddon or Apollyon.

THE RISE OF MOTHER GODDESS WORSHIP

In warning against women and the outbreak of wrath or orgy, Paul markes the priests of Cybele who were emasculated and even had a sex reassignment before jethey could qualify.  Therefore, the quest for the VISIONS and IMAGINATION is the clear MARK of a total taking capture of a church or once Christian university.

Lynn Anderson and Rubel Shelly have followed the feminists and Lesbian Methodists in their revisioning or reimaging of the church: they claim that they have new SPETACLES.

Karen Armstrong, in A History of God, shows how the pagan clergy attempted to neutralize the One God Who was spoken of as male:
"God lay beyond 'gender' but, as in the Enuma Elish, each pair of emanations consisted of a male and female--a scheme which attempted to neutralize the masculine tenor of more conventional monotheism. Each pair of emanations grew weaker and more attenuated, since they were getting even further from their divine Source." (p. 95)
Speaking of the mystics, Armstrong showed how the new, gender-neutral gods are to be worshipped:
"This God is to be approached through the imagination and can be seen as a kind of art form, akin to the other great artistic symbols that have expressed the ineffable mystery, beauty and the value of life.

Mystics have used music, dancing, poetry, fiction, stories, painting, sculpture and architecture to express this Reality which goes beyond concepts." (P. 396)
Lynn Anderson: The mind-set of the times threatens to strip our faith of symbols, rituals, dramas, mystery, poetry, and story,
which say about life and God what logic and reason and rationalism can never say. See Volkism
Guided Imagery:
David Hunt, in his two books, The Seduction of Christianity (1985) and Beyond Seduction (1987), first chronicled the influence of Carl Jung's ideas in the modern church. He wrote of Agnes Sanford whose visualization techniques are founded in
shamanistic practices of the occult and
who expressed pantheistic beliefs similar to those held by Carl Jung.
The Vineyard Christian Fellowships, headed by John Wimber, are heavily involved in the use of imagination, visualization, and inner healing. There has been criticism that to a large extent allowing God to "guide the imagination" has been placed on a level equal to the authority of the Bible, which has created a great deal of confusion. David Hunt, (p. 174 Seduction of Christianity

John was literate and understood Hesiod and we understand the meaning of the LOCUSTS as the Muses of Revelation.

[25] the Muses of Olympus, daughters of Zeus who holds the aegis: "Shepherds of the wilderness, wretched things of shame, mere bellies, we know how to speak many false things as though they were true; but we know, when we will, to utter true things."
David Lipscomb Still speaks for the OWNERS: All service in his kingdom not ordained by him, all organizations not builded by him, not commanded in his word, are without the seals of his blood, are unsanctified and defile the temple of God.

The letter to the Hebrews x: 28, further declares, "He who despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses. Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done despite to the Spirit of grace." [45]

To despise Moses' law was to turn from the law given by Moses and sealed by the typical blood, to service not so given. He who turns from the appointments given by the Son of God, sealed by his blood, revealed and confirmed by the Spirit of God,  or places upon equality with them as service to God the acts and institutions of man's wisdom, tramples under foot the authority of Jesus Christ, and makes it nothing.

For if man's wisdom can guide into the service of God, it is as good as the wisdom of God. So to make services based on the opinions of man, not sealed by the blood of Christ, a part of the worship of God, is to place them upon equality with the blood-sealed appointments of Jesus Christ and the wisdom and authority of man on equality with the wisdom and authority of God. To do this is to count the blood of Christ which seals the covenant, unholy--that is, without sanctifying efficacy. If service in the ways based on man's opinions, unsealed by the blood of Christ, is acceptable to God, it is equal to that service rendered through the blood-sealed appointments, hence the blood is of no avail, it is unholy, and does not consecrate or sanctify the service sealed by it.

To serve God in ways based on the opinions of man, is to turn from the Spirit, is to refuse to be led by the Spirit, and is to place his teachings on a level with the teachings of God. Hence the seal of the blood and the teachings of the Spirit are of no value. To introduce or observe a service based on the opinions or wisdom of man, is to trample under foot the Son of God, despise his authority, count the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing, and do "despite unto the Spirit of Grace." Those who thus treat the law of him who speaks from heaven, will receive a punishment much sorer than those who rejected the law of Moses.

David Lipscomb continues: "As an example, the Spirit of God said,

"Christians [46] must
speak to themselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord."

Here is Divine requirement for singing.
This comes to us as the direction of the Spirit [the Word] sealed with the blood of Christ.
    Man's opinion introduces an organ.

When an organ is introduced into the worship  it is placed on equality with the singing.
It is really placed above it,
    and over-rides and supersedes it.

But say it is there as a part of the service of God.  It stands on equality with the appointments of God.

The authority of the Spirit and the blood of Christ go for nothing--they are not needed to render the service acceptable, since the organ without the authority of God and the blood of Christ, is acceptable.

If any service not authorized by the word of God, not sealed by the blood of Christ, is acceptable to God---then that authority and blood are not needed to render any service acceptable, and to introduce those not authorized and sealed
is to declare the sanction of the Spirit and the seal of the blood .are not needed--not holy--do not sanctify.

It is equally true of institutions in which we serve God.
The churches of Christ, local and distinct,
are ordained by God--
sealed by the blood of Jesus, and given us by the Spirit of God, for the purpose
of saving and elevating men and honoring God.

To accept these and work in them, is to
honor their author and to show an appreciation of the blood that seals them, and it is to follow the Spirit of God.

To organize other institutions upon the opinion or judgment of man, through which to work,
is to declare man's judgment equal to the wisdom of God,
it is to declare the sanctifying power of the blood, not needed, or it is to ignore that there is sanctifying power in the blood and to set at naught the teachings of the Spirit.

This is to trample under foot the Son of God, to count the blood of the covenant unholy--without sanctifying power, and thus [47] to set at naught or do despite to the Spirit of Grace.

This is true of all service
based on the authority of man's opinions or judgment.

The
pastor distinct from the eldership, is added as a matter of opinion.

This opinion of man becomes equivalent to or above the order of God,
.which ordains the elders as the teachers.
..
The pastorate becomes more important than the eldership. .It degrades the authority that ordains the eldership for the church.  Again, the Lord ordained that his church should be carried forward by free gifts, honestly gained, cheerfully given by his children. This has the sanction of the Spirit, and is sealed by the blood of Christ.

Men on their opinions hold festivals, fairs and frolics, to entice men, for fleshly gratification, to give their money, and this is brought into the temple of God, on an equal footing with that contributed according to the direction of God. This is to trample under foot the Lord Jesus Christ, to count the blood of the covenant unholy, of no value, and it is to do despite to the Spirit of Grace.

These things are properly defined "fads, fancies, preferences, based on opinion and nothing but opinion." To introduce them into the worship or church of God, is to make man's opinion a basis and rule of action for the church, and a fad or fancy or human opinion, equal to a blood-sealed ordinance of God. This is to place man's opinion on an equality with the word of God. This is to degrade the authority of God, to trample under foot the Lord Jesus and his authority, to count the blood of the covenant unholy, of no value, and to reject the teachings of the Holy Spirit.

Because Israel rejected The Book of The Covenant of Grace and IMAGED the musical idolatry of Egypt, God truned them over to worship the starry host (Acts 7 etal).  The Book of The Law regulated the Lawless and the Monarch, Monarchy, Sacrifices, Exorcising "music" and Temple was NOT for God but for a GOYIM or pagan worship to which God abandoned them.

Ex. 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

When you GRAVE the image of your own heart on sermons and songs you have fallen into idolatry of your own mind. You have also violated direct commands to "speak that which is written" and of the elders to "teach that which has been taught." There was no imagination allowed in connection with the Word of God.

Morris Silver:  Some commentators consider hmqnh to be a later gloss to clarify the meaning of "image of jealousy." But how does it clarify? I propose the translation "seat of the commercial agent." It is well known that, for reasons of economic efficiency, ancient temples were commercial centers (see ESoA, Chap. 1). The rage of Ezekiel and his circle at the presence of a commercial agent in the courtyard of the Temple would be explained by their well-documented loathing for commercial life... This line of interpretation finds support in the LXX and Old Latin versions which may be translated as "statue/image of the trader/buyer." [acquire, buy, produce and procreate.

Torczyner suggests that the compound term sha mala was transmitted from Assyrian (not Babylonian) into Hebrew as semel, with sh being pronounced as s. Thus, again, the "image of jealousy" whose presence in the sanctuary enraged Ezekiel was a businessman, not an idol.

The Pythia (priestess) of the Greek oracle at Delphi often went into an ecstatic state during which she uttered sounds revealed to her by the python (the snake, the symbol of resurrection), after drinking water from a certain spring.

Her "words" were then interpreted by a priest to help a suppliant find a way to avoid calamities, especially death. In primitive religions, ecstasy was a technique highly developed by shamans, religious personages with healing and psychic-transformation powers, in their "soul," or "spirit," flights.   The Spirit of Christ in Ezekiel 20 further defined the Musical Fall From Grace

  EZEKIEL 26

Ezekiel also prophesied that the music and musicians of Tyre would be cast into sheol. It is not coincidental that forcing people to honor the theatrical performers rather than hearing God through His Word is often related to breaking down the walls to allow the enemy to come in and, perhaps, pick up some of the financial load. Ezekiel said however, speaking for God, that:

They will plunder your wealth and loot your merchandise; they will break down your walls and demolish your fine houses and throw your stones, timber and rubble into the sea. Ezek 26:12

I will put an end to your noisy songs, and the music of your harps will be heard no more. Ezek 26:13

The LXX is more forceful in showing that both the music and the musicians would be silenced--

"And he shall destroy the multitude of thy musicians, and the sound of thy psalteries shall be heard no more." Ezek. 26:13 LXX

then I will bring you down with those who go down to the pit, to the people of long ago. I will make you dwell in the earth below, as in ancient ruins, with those who go down to the pit, and you will not return or take your place in the land of the living. Ezek 26:20

EZEKIEL 33 REFERENCED BY JESUS TO DEFINE SCRIBES AND PHARISEES, HYPOCRITES

Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites.  The Ezekiel account identifies the HYPOCRITES.

Ye hypocrites (actors), well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, Matt 15:7

This people draweth nigh unto me
with their mouth,

and honoreth me with their lips;
but their heart is far from me. Matt 15:8

But in vain they do worship me,
teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Matt 15:9

And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: Matt 15:10

But He spoke to them in parables and they couldn't understand because they had the wrong "seeker" motive.
Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you,

and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord. Ezek 33:30

And they come unto thee as the people cometh,

and they sit before thee as my people,

and they hear thy words,
but they will not do them:
for with their mouth they shew much love, (erotic praise songs)

but their heart goeth after their covetousness. Ezek 33:31
Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man;

but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. Matt 15:11

Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? Matt 15:12

But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Matt 15:13

Let them alone:they be blind leaders of the blind.

And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Matt 15:14
And, lo, thou art unto them

as a very lovely song

of one that hath a pleasant voice,

and can play well on an instrument:

for they hear thy words,

but they do them not. Ezek 33:32

then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them. Ezek 33:33

"Elements of ritual and mythology were taken over from Canaanite religion and inocrporated into the worship of Yahweh. Former Canaanite sanctuaries, like Bethel, Shechem, and perhaps Gilgal, were rededicated to Yahweh, and the Canaanite agricultural calendar was adopted for the timing of the pilgrimage festivals. Parents began naming their children after Baal, apparently with no thought of abandoning Yahweh.... As late as the eighth century B.C., Israelites--according to the prophet Hosea—actually addressed Yahweh as 'Baal," and by worhipping him according to the rituals of Baal sought the blessing of fertility (Hos. 2) At the popular level this syncretism—that is, the fusion of different religious forms and view--went on to some degree from the time Israel first set foot on Canaanite." Chorus

Plat. Laws 908d For whereas the one class will be quite frank in its language about the gods and about sacrifices and oaths,

the other class, while holding the same opinions as the former,
yet being specially “gifted by nature'' and being full of craft and guile, is the class out of which are manufactured many diviners and experts in all manner of jugglery; and from it, too, there spring sometimes tyrants and demagogues and generals, and those who plot by means of peculiar mystic rites of their own, and the devices of those who are called “sophists.” Of these there may be many kinds;

THE BEAST IN REVELATION
a tragedy in . In Athens adapting old dithyramb with its chorus of Satyrs, The intensity of the preceding plays was thus relieved, while the chorus of Satyrs and Sileni, the companions of Dionysus, served to indicate the original connection between that divinity and the drama. The dance of the chorus in the satyric drama was called sikinnis or sikinnon, and consisted of a fantastic kind of skipping and jumping
named after a mymph of Cybele although originally danced in honor of Sabazios.

Cybele or Kubebes: CII. Kubêbês. The ‘Great Mother’ goddess of the Phrygians worshipped at Pessinus, the mêtêr Dindumênê of i. 80. 1. For the Anatolian ‘Great Mother’ cf. App. I. 2, Frazer, G. B. iv, Bk. II, Attis, &c.; Ramsay, in Hastings' Bible Dictionary, extra vol., p. 120 f. The Atys myth which involved her cult is connected with Sardis by H.'s story of the son of Croesus (i. 34. 2 n.). The Great Mother was worshipped at Athens in the days of Sophocles (Phil. 391), and identified by the Greeks with Rhea, mother of the gods (cf. iv. 76; Strabo 469), with Aphrodite, with Demeter, and with Artemis as the lady of the wild woods. But here she is regarded as a foreign goddess.
She is the facilitator or organon a musical instrument of Rhea (Eve, Zoe)

The End-Time Fulfillment

For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will bring upon Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and much people. Ezek 26:7

They will plunder your wealth and
    loot your merchandise;
they will break down your walls
    and demolish your fine houses

and throw your stones, TIMBER and rubble into the sea. Ezek 26:12

Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses,

and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying,

Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord. Eze 33:30

Rev 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
Rev 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
I will put an end to your noisy songs, and the music [sound] of your harps will be heard no more. Ezek 26:13

The LXX is more forceful in showing that both the music and the musicians would be silenced---

"And he shall destroy the multitude of thy musicians, and the sound of thy psalteries shall be heard no more." Ezek. 26:13 LXX

My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to listen to your words,

but they do not put them into practice.

With their mouths they express devotion (Lord, Lord as amorousness - inordinate love),

Meaning: A new style of music or drama!

Tarta^r-os , the nether world generally,

And altogether the ancient philosoj)hy of the Greeks appears to have been very much addicted to music; and on this account they judged Apollo to have been the most musical and the wisest of the gods, and Orpheus of the demigods. And they called every one who devoted himself to the study of this art a sophist, as
Aeschylus does in the verse where he says — And then the sophist sweetly struck the lyre.

Musae (Mousai). In Greek mythology the Muses were originally the nymphs of springs, whose waters gave inspiration, such as Hippocrené, Castalia, etc.; then goddesses of song in genera. They are all female and are considered goddesses dwelling in Olympus, who at the meals of the gods sing sweetly to the lyre of Apollo. They are the nine daughters of Zeus.

The Babylonians knew a lot about medicine.  There were many treatments which involved drugs or plants (cutting of roots) which treated some diseases.  However, for those ills they did not know how to treat they, like witchdoctors or priests, added songs or incantations usually accompanied with musical instrumets.  In a parallel and modern sense, preachers tend to CUT AND BLEND parts of the WORD which does not work because it perverts the only remedy.  Early on, they discovered that they could use priestly speeches, songs or playing instruments to TRY to cure what seemed to be missing.  ANYONE who uses any house, works of human hands or self-speech are called SORCERERS or witchdoctors.  African witchdoctors "baptized" their instruments and housed them in a shrine where they werre worshipped.

The Muses and instrument players in Revelation 18 are BEASTS: they are UNDER the control of the Babylobn Mother of Harlots in Revelation 17 which is SKIPPED.  The Muses in Revelation as SORCERERS are defined by the word:

SELLING YOUR OWN OPINIONS AND WORDS IN SERMON OR SONG IS PROSTITUTION

Honorable Preachers have been USURPED by Theolgians: Jesus said that doctors of the Law take away the key to knowledge.  Furthermore, CORRUPTING the Word is selling your own words at retail: that is defined as PROSTITUTION.

X.Mem.1.6.13  Xen. Mem. 1.6.1

To this Socrates replied: “Antiphon, it is common opinion among us
in regard to beauty and wisdom
                that there is an honourable
and a shameful way of bestowing them.
        For to offer one's beauty for money to all comers is called prostitution;

But we think it virtuous to become friendly with
a lover who is known to be a man of honour.

So is it with wisdom. Those who offer it to all comers for money
are known as sophists, prostitutors of wisdom

But we think that he who makes a friend of one whom he knows to be gifted
by nature, and teaches him all the good he can,

fulfils the duty of a citizen and a gentleman.

ALL RELIGIOUS OBSERVATIONS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AND WILL ALWAYS BE EFFEMINATE

See Worship Androgyny the Pagan Sexual Ideal, Peter Jones.

Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites: in the Ezekiel 33 version he identifies self-speakers, singers and instrument players FOR HIRE.  The SEXUAL LOVE is based on the ORGAN of Jubal who HANDLED musical instruments without authority.  Musical Instruments always tugged at the sexual senses so that the female priestesses could fleece the customer of all of his food money before he could get out of town. NOTHING Christianity can be SOLD and nothing SOLD can be Christian.

Jesus said that the kingdom does not COME with observation: that means RELIGIOUS SERVICES which are defined as the lying wonders of deluded MANY sucking up all of the funds from the honest evangelist.

Cyprian: God abrogated idolatry--the mother of all public amusements, whence these prodigies of vanity and lightness came.
Cyprian letters 1:8

That Jupiter of theirs is not more supreme in dominion than in vice, inflamed with earthly love in the midst of his own thunders...now breaking forth by the help of birds to violate the purity of boys.  And now put the question: Can he who looks upon things be healthy-minded or modest? Men imitate the gods whom they adore, and to such miserable beings their crimes become their religion.

You will provide a better entertainment for your dearest friends, if, while we have something spiritual to listen to, the sweetness of religious music charm our ears.

INSTRUMENTAL TRANSISTIONED CHURCHES OFTEN REMOVE CHRIST FROM THEIR CONFESSION

What was historically, from the Wilderness onward,  Called the Church of Christ (the Rock) and most if not all historic scholars and founders of denominations CONFESSES the one who purchased the Church with His own blood.

Died C. 110 Ignatius to the Ephesians

And if those that corrupt mere human families are condemned to death, how much more shall those suffer everlasting punishment who endeavour to corrupt the Church of Christ, for which the Lord Jesus, the only-begotten Son of God, endured the cross, and submitted to death! Whosoever, "being waxen fat," and "become gross," sets at nought His doctrine, shall go into hell.

In like manner, every one that has received from God the power of distinguishing, and yet follows an unskilful shepherd, and receives a false opinion for the truth, shall be punished.

"What communion hath light with darkness? or Christ with Belial? Or what portion hath he that believeth with an infidel? or the temple of God with idols? " And in like manner say I, what communion hath truth with falsehood? or righteousness with unrighteousness? or true doctrine with that which is false?

Aristotle: Melody Deceives: "Poets also make use of this in inventing words, as a melody "without strings" or "without the lyre"; for they employ epithets from negations, a course which is approved in proportional metaphors..

The form of diction should be neither metrical nor without rhythm.
If it is metrical, it lacks persuasiveness, for it appears artificial, and at the same time it distracts the hearer's attention, since it sets him on the watch for the recurrence of such and such a cadence..

According to Philo, the gods of the pagans exploit this weakness of men. For the sake of a better effect, and with the intention of more easily cheating their devotes, that they have set their lies to melodies, rhythms and meters.." Click for more.

(1 Cor. 8: 12.)

If we drive them from the church which they have to leave to avoid condemning themselves in this way,

we are guilty of the sin of causing division,
to which we have referred.

In any event, therefore, our conduct is just as positively forbidden as is blasphemy or adultery.
